I don't care

Op you fucked up if you really wanted a bunch of replys it should have been a screenshot of a tranny or gay flag. Remake the thread and try again.
on topic if it fits the games overall narrative its fine if its randomly added to some character and thrown in your face its shitty regardless of the politics its trying to shove in your face.

they are forced and always feel out of place.

In game politics is fine. It mostly mirrors RL politics in some way, or is inspired by something in history.
It's the ones that try and squeeze in some awful writing under the guise of just being edgy (I don't care which camp you're in, it sucks both ways) that can get annoying.
I don't want to have to sit through being lectured through a game on some RL geopolitical issue that was inserted horribly into the game. I just want to play and enjoy.
Lots of horrible things happen that we have no control over. Let me have my escapism from it.

It's hard to compete in this environment, Celeste fucked the reply market.
On topic though western crpgs seemed to throw a lot more politics then modern games. Granted, I feel said politics tended to be better integrated with the story.

You already know the only right answer, why bother asking

I'm fine as long as it does not attack my political beliefs

>Communists are murderous psychopaths.

It's alright.

did the thread about a hat in time get deleted cause a janny was triggered about the trans shit?

Politics is fine if it serves the narrative and fits the game world. When you start bringing in trannies in a medieval world it feels completely out of place, for example.
Being hamfisted and just shoving it down the player's throat is also shit, as well as just doing really obvious parallels to current/recent political events where it's really obvious you've made some shitty Trump or Clinton or Reagan or Obama that's completely out of place annd obvious.

Thats the thing I dont actually care if a character is gay or furry or whatever but unless there is a story relevant point it shouldn't be forced in the players face. I think older crpgs were better at making fleshed out characters that working in the worlds setting without being LOOK AT MY GAY FLAG ALSO I USED TO BE A MAN BUT NOW IM A WOMAN.
The same can be said of the games empire building. You could kill bad guys of whatever type of evil empire or dictator flavor was needed without snide comments hidden throughout the game like Wolfenstein youngblood did regardless of whether someone agree with what is said or not, why antagonize potential players without adding real content?

>it shouldn't be forced in the players face
Is it ever? Yea Forums seems to force this stuff into peoples faces more than the games themselves

I stopped playing multiple games because of political propaganda and even got refund on many of them.
I play games to have fun and not to be lectured by some low IQ coding wagie.

>setting is a Mediterranean island
>enemies are all southern US hillbilly rednecks

The fuck?

Love 'em

Threadly reminder that white men were responsible for 100% of the terrorism-related deaths in America the past year

Depends on the game. Most of the time its overblown on Yea Forums a small flag that most people wont notice is fine in my opinion Biowares general character writing for Inquisition and Andromeda are shitty and forced.
I think much of what feels forced to me or not is how well the story or characters are written. Bioware has shit fanfic tier writing now so it all comes across as forced while older crpgs that didnt have graphics or multiplayer to fall back on had to focus on better writing so they dont come across like that even if they had a political message.
Its the difference between a character randomly saying to you out of the blue im gay and that is thier whole personality and defining trait and a character that is a professional doctor or soldier or whatever who is also incidentally gay. Most of the time newer rpg writing seems like the first for brownie points or something.

>last thread dies
>immediately create a new one
Fuck off

There is literally nothing wrong with this.

>there is nothing wrong with telling a story through a contra naturam perspective

lol

You're a pseud bitching about a slide without context and just randomly assuming shit and that tells us way more about your intellectual capacities than your ability to drop random Latin phrases in conversation.

They should be kept out of games

I suppose I would even be okay with even the worst of politicizing if games incorporated some sort of choice or gameplay based on it. Right now, all politics seem to be are set dressing, while particularly in crpgs it would give you a decision based on politics and then change events logically based on that choice.

Why won't mods just ban these type of threads? Why do they let them live?

They are just trolls threads. They aren't places for legit discussion, because this discussion has been settled. If you think video games are inherently political, you are fucking retarded, with a warped inability to distinguish between greater cultural values and worldview with "politics".

This is just a place for fags to dogwhistle about communism.
