Everything last season led to ash winning the league there was alot of character development and built up to what should have been his first league victory that was rightfully earned.

Ash won the fucking Special Olympics not the Pokemon League. All of his opponents were rookies that didn't even have Pokemon before the season started, and he STILL only won by sheer luck and incompetent refs ruling in his favor on matches where he legit lost to these rookies.

In Kalos, Ash earned the win but it was stolen from him by bad writing and retarded executives making decisions that alienated the entire anime's viewer base. Here, he earned nothing but a humiliating defeat but those retarded executives tried to hand him a pity win too little too late, and nobody watches the fucking show anymore - and the few that still do are angry over how undeserved it was.

There's no possible way to exaggerate just how badly literally ever facet of the Pokemon franchise is being handled right now. The games, the anime, the merchandising, the manga. It is all on fucking fire. It's at the point where even fucking Digimon is looking competitive right now.
