> B-but no one buys games on Epic Twice as many people just did as bought BL2 on Steam > B-but everyone just pirates BL3 has a new version of Denuvo that hasn't been cracked and probably won't be cracked in the next 6 months > B-but muh guaranteed sales. Epic paid for all those copies He's talking about peak player count. These are all real people that paid money to play the game, not excess keys that Epic bought to inflate sales numbers
Now that every one of you Steam shills' usual copes has been thrown out the window, what do you have to say for yourselves? "Steam or no buy" holdouts are a dying breed. When are you going to admit that Epic is legitimate competition to Steam and if Valve doesn't get their shit together they're going to go the way of the dinosaur along with all their boomer fanboys.
It's just braindead faggots that really like Borderlands paying to play it early on PC. These dumbfucks don't care where their money is going. Doesn't matter he won but fuck
Caleb Gomez
NONONONONONONO ALL OF THOSE ARE CHINESE BOTS THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE WOULD JUST INSTALL ANOTHER SHITTY LAUNCHER TO BUY GAMES NONONO THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE AND UNETHICAL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA GABEN SAVE MEEEEEEEEEEE

Stop making this thread faggot.

>no hard numbers or proof
Ah yes, I'll totally believe this tweet from a person who has everything to gain from hyping the games sales as much as possible.
Noah Lopez
Good for Randy. The epic launcher is still complete and utter shit.
> Epic gives out actual sales numbers for World War Z >all the other games >numbers suddenly stop and it's all mental gymnastic figures about 'twice this' and 'more than peak of that'
It's also a much hyped sequel after a long time. A more interesting comparison would be to release on both platforms and compare player counts and sales.
>why yes current steam is dead, monster hunter peaked with 330k, biggest steam release this year, but randy is still getting more money thanks to the 12% cut
>zero proof lmao also >steam will die off epic store is hot garbage that people only use because they buy out exclusives like the slimeballs they are.
Joseph Perry
Yea Forums how's the game running for you so far? hearing all those technical issues on leddit kinda worries me a bit
Lucas Rogers
What's with this coordinated effort to paint 30% cut as some evil Steam thing rather than just the industry standard for years, and the same as Playstation, Microsoft, Nintendo etc?
Daniel Hill
Epic is a platform being sold to publishers, not consumers. Right now Epic's putting forth the Fortnite money for timed exclusivity to show that big games can not only sell well off of Steam, they can even get people to double down on games they already purchased and buy it again on Steam. 99.9% of people don't give a fuck about ingame chat, or web browsers, or forums, or fucking shopping carts, they only care about where they can get the game for cheap. In order for Epic's store to fail, the number of people who hate the Epic Store and will not buy the game on Epic OR ON STEAM after exclusivity end's total revenue needs to beat out the extra 18% the publisher/dev makes on each sale during exclusivity. Everybody always fucking says "Waiting for the REAL version of the video game six months from now :)))" instead of vowing off purchasing the game ever. No matter how much Reddit brigades and screams and creates cringy /r/fuckepic posts, the general public couldn't give less of a fuck about store exclusivity.
>Twice as many people bought it on Epic as did BL2 on Steam Learn statistics you braindead retard. >BL3 has a new version of Denuvo that hasn't been cracked Pirates don't care and have other games to play. >Epic guaranteed sales Epic is still using an unsustainable business practice that will have to end eventually. They've openly admitted this.
Brandon Jones
>What's with this coordinated effort to paint 30% cut as some evil well, not my intention, 12% cut just gives more money :)

Look everyone, it's our first "muh proof" post of the thread, hilarious, I look forward to many more

>Long awaited game of a series is released only on one platform on PC Gee, i wonder why people are buying the game on that platform.
David Ramirez
What good are hard numbers or facts to these Steam drones when those same numbers come from Epic themselves, a company they don't trust from the getgo?
Gabriel Gonzalez
I'm sure BL2 had the same phenomenon when compared to BL1.

You can buy Epic Store keys on Fanatical, Greenman and Humble - same as Steam games
John Myers
This is also wrong. Steam takes a smaller cut once you reach a certain amount in sales.
>if Valve doesn't get their shit together they're going to go the way of the dinosaur along with all their boomer fanboys.
What does 'getting their shit together' mean? Can you explain what the benefit to me as a consumer is to have store fronts in a fight to see who can throw more money at giant publishers? Meanwhile as a result of this 'competition' nothing is actually getting cheaper
Daniel Ortiz
>come on bros let's band together and defeat this great evil! Fuck off to leddit.
Luke Morgan
>steam ui update next week >suddenly egs shill ching chongs pop up Hmm............

Add in the Gearbox cut for ROR2
Mason Baker
$1 has been deposited into your steam wallet
Noah Morgan
$1 per post is actually good money. Where do I sign up?
Isaiah Garcia
Id rather just save money myself using Steam. I'm not sure why Im meant to care about gigantic publishing corporations getting more
I don't give a fuck, I bought Borderlands 3 and Metro on Epic because I didn't want to wait a year to play them. Got burned on Metro because Xbox Game Pass has it for two bucks. I'm just saying that saying fuck you to corporate overlord Epic then giving the publisher/developer money after it's off Epic is just giving them the revenue they would've gotten normally.
Evan Watson
Actually it's even worse
>1 Artifact card has been added to their accounts.
Benjamin Smith
Well as you can probably figure out, publishers getting more money ultimately makes game development much more attractive, it'll encourage the industry to grow.
At the moment Steam is just hoovering up money and productivity, Valve don't even make games
Tyler Perry
Looks like this whole epic game store is really working out well for them. Do you reckon Steam is gonna get mogged?
Benjamin Morales
>publishers getting more money ultimately makes game development much more attractive, it'll encourage the industry to grow. Or they will just pocket it and add more microtransactions.
Mason Gray
>Took 2.5 months for Satisfactory to reach 500k (which happened after Epic's big $10 off everything sale) >Took 1 month for Risk of Rain to reach 1 million while selling for $20 straight through (and the buy-one-get-one copies aren't counted towards this)
It's also been three months since Satisfactory hit 500k sales and we haven't heard a peek on sales success
gaben is not giving out money for free, quite the opposite the epic sale this year was much better
Benjamin Hill
>Do you reckon Steam is gonna get mogged?
Doubtful. Epic's working at a snail's pace at getting the Epic Games Store even close to the same kind of functionality that Steam does, in addition to the fact that they have been desperate enough to build a user base that they had the sale back in May where they took $10 off of everything in the store that cost $15 or more (after publicly stating that they would never do big sales like Steam because it devalues games). They're desperate for market share, and if goddamn Borderlands 3 doesn't do the trick of getting them some regular customers then nothing will
Name one time this has actually happened with any of Epic's exclusives.
Kayden Gray
user don't post actual fake shit that the shitposters put up for you to take the bait on
Angel White
>we haven't heard a peek on sales success We haven't heard anything from other games too.
Brayden Kelly
True >World War Z >Satisfactory
That's actually it. If a month goes by and Randy isn't bragging about selling at least one million Borderlands 3 copies on PC then I'm gonna laugh my ass off
Chase Nelson
a game makes money on launch user, sad reality I know

Oh yes, the socialist >logic

They never told how much profit they have made.
Justin Richardson
There are many games with long sales tails. Early Access games like Satisfactory and Risk of Rain 2 should be those kinds of games
Daniel Gutierrez
2k usually share numbers after one month of release. And i don't think randy is allowed to share this shit anyway
Isaac Cox
yes satisfactory sold like 500k, they started with 0, pretty solid
Jaxson Cox
at least he removed the title and using its abbreviation now, too bad is still using OPVA store alternate name.
Just add twice as many and peak to filters, no matter if he changes md5 every single time, he will soon run out of words to use or mods will finally do their freaking job and call LEA on Dickford

Really means nothing when we don't know what Epic's assured revenue amount was
