There will without a doubt be another surge of players to check out the new characters and then lose interest after two weeks.
But this time there will be balance changes and apparently some new singleplayer stuff so who knows how long it will last. Guess you have to hope not too many people moved away from it so much that not even the new stuff will bring them back

There are enough defensive options to disrupt mixups and mitigate the threat of pincer situations.
Online warriors are far more likely to go on autopilot in attempting to make a sandwich and do their instant mixups, often activating on hit or block, no true hit confirms on reaction. It's easy to throw them off their game.

I personally think that it's great but just barely reaching an 8 for me, I'd probably give it a 7.7. The EXAGERATED simplicity of the gameplay is a big throwback everytime I try to play the game again, like seriously, changes like auto dashing/running by pressing forward once, or your character running automatically when pressing grab, that greatly lowers the risks of grabbing, as well as having the game being played around 2 FUCKING TYPES OF AUTOCOMBOS are completely unnecessary and just plain stupid, since I think that part of the beauty of fighting games lies in their difficulty. It's not like you can't simplify it, but BBTAG just crosses the border of simplicity. Another problem that ties with my last statement is that some characters suffered in the transition from their games of origin to this one (i.e. Platinum and her random weapons, or Izayoi and her form change, Yuzu and her stance phase, Seth and his insane movement when you managed to master the character, Naoto and his 1 frame links that ended in sick af combos, these are all things that really defined the characters and gave them that sense of uniqueness to them, and BBTAG just takes all that gameplay design and throws it to the thrash, except in some cases like Naoto, who still remains a bit complex in comparison to the rest of the characters, or at least for what I played of him I remember trying to hit a really tight combo, but that's the only exception I found).

That being said the cross tag system is the most fun I've had with a fighting game, and is clearly the part where BBTAG truly shines. Because of this and the fact that each character has 3 assists makes the making of combos with your partner give amazing results and is really fucking fun, it leaves a lot of room for experimentation and makes the matches feel interesting, unique and fresh everytime you fight another player, which is one of the two major flaws I find in DBFZ (although that problem has been solved a little bit after the big update it still really sucks). That's why I was sad to hear that they nerfed the cross combo gauge, but at the same time it was needed because of (another problem of the game) the broken character combinations, you saw it with GorBy, but there are other examples like JinYu or MitsuRiha.
I think that sums up what I have to say about the game, but yeah it's around a 7.5/7.7 for me. Maybe a 7.8 at best, but not much more.
