>switch downgrade
I thought the game was meant to be the definitive edition. Why does it look like a snes game?

just wait a few months for the dragon quest XI: Definitive Edition to come to other platforms and then wait a few more months for it to go on sale

Just get yourself a voucher.
Japanese game prices are ridiculous.

DQXI S is published by Square Enix, so no vouchers.

thats the special edition that includes the voice dramas
it also has the eshop tax, its cheaper physical

why does it look like shit in handheld mode.
it's a 3ds port originally, same with the ps4/pc.

thats 2d mode, exclusive to switch

It's Nostalgia mode that I believe you can switch between freely.

Its more than that as it also restores the combat system to real DQ style instead of the choose one action at a time crap that the ps4 version introduced

BRAVO NINTENDO

>to come to other platforms
user...

there's no way square enix doesn't quadruple dip on this game

It's because it's square that it's extremely unlikely.

>shitty square enix rehash
>Yea Forums will lose their shit over it
But why?

Personally I've always hated the classic "pick all your actions at once" system from older RPGs since it just gives the AI an unfair advantage. They'll be able to target characters that were dead at the start of the turn so that they can instantly kill them right after being revived without a chance to heal them, or the Priest with the Meteorite Bracer that's been going first for the entire battle will suddenly get a shitty roll and not heal the party until after all the enemies have already killed everyone.

Fuck, I'm gonna have to get a job and buy a Switch now.

Well thats your personally wrong opinion to have I guess.

Never played DQ. should I give it a go?

There's no reason not to.

Yeah, play the Super Famicom version of DQIII. It holds up extremely well, and is the game that gets referenced most often in the franchise itself and media in general.

Will do. I should have mentioned i did enjoy that parody show with takayuki yamada
