I'm just going to come out with this quickly and get it over with. I'm a former Bethesda associate, never was a full-time employee but I'll leave it at that. I'll tell you most of what I know about the game, but I'll have to leave some stuff out as my identity could be compromised as the full set of details I know would point straight to me. Given that I wasn't full-time and technically not part of Bethesda, my information regarding the game is not very extensive. I do however know the preliminary details and have tested a very early build of the game, I'm talking VERY EARLY which means a small portion of the map that is being tested for lighting/physics. Since then a lot of information has dribbled my way and today I'll share it with you.
First off I'll go with the basic details. The game is set in High Rock and Hammerfell, IIRC about 50 years after Skyrim. The civil war in Skyrim turned out to be a useless decision as in TES VI they've went with the option that either way the continent fell to the Thalmor. If my interpretation of the information I have been provided is correct, the main premise of the game is to fight against the Thalmor and ally yourself with various different factions to find some magical mechanic the Thalmor is susceptible to. Sadly, the game engine will be the FO76 engine with some minor improvements. The graphics (at least what I saw a year ago) are really nothing special and remind me of Skyrim SE + some ENB. The combat aspect however is revamped from Skyrim and I've heard is much more enjoyable than what it is now.
One thing I have to get off my chest is that I doubt the game will be any good at all. Bethesda claimed that it will be a purely single-player game but my sources say otherwise. It'll be monetized extensively with something similar to the atomic shop in FO76 and it will be made to be primarily played in co-op, but the single player option is there as well. (similar to Youngblood or BL2/3). One thing which really struck me was that the game has been significantly changed from being story based into almost pure action, I know Bethesda has been doing this to its games for a long time now but this was like a massive step further. The people close to me who have played later builds told me that it has a ton of very repetitive dungeons which are unlike traditional dungeons but rather like levels that you pass and get a score on. The cities of the game from the little I've seen and what I've been told later on look very nice, but are quite shallow. They're similar to Witcher 3, with most buildings being in a "locked" state and randomly spawning NPC's without real names. That means they're probably going to get rid of the lockpicking skill. They're going for the less detailed option from what I've seen, TES VI seems to be an action game with some roleplay elements and a somewhat open world.

whatever, fag

Shut the fuck up retard. We still have Starfield to get through before this game even leaves the preproduction, shit-slinging idea phase.
At least try to be believable. Go do some research into Bethesda and game development in general before your next LARP, retard
Isaiah James
>The graphics (at least what I saw a year ago) are really nothing special and remind me of Skyrim SE + some ENB. Already a lie, I actually do work with a firm associate with Zenimax and I don't know shit about their future projects, but I know for a fact that they switched to Photogrammetry asset workflow because we are creating clodpoints for them. That means that both characters and environmental assets are mostly either drone scans or other types of photoscans transformed into assets using cloudpoint techniques, with hyper realistic textures and everything. Believe me or not, I don't give a fuck, I know that I am literally right and everyone will see it eventually.
You could've at the very least mentioned Anumidium to pretend you know anything lmfao
Logan Barnes
Worst LARP ever. Try harder next time because even if they are fake these threads can be enjoyable. Put in a little more effort in next time.
Connor Bennett
>game said by bethesda to be in pre production >have tested a very early build of the game, I'm talking VERY EARLY which means a small portion of the map that is being tested for lighting/physics Stopped reading here. Even if they had a very early build they wouldn't let you play it at this stage, the whole thing would basically be tests. Kill you'reself. Larp threads like this suck.
Ian Evans
its going to be a we wuz kangz story about opression and bringing kings back to their rightful throne.
Kayden Torres
Actually I don't have to prove shit >youtu.be/mvZsbpUJhZ8?t=338 Here, that is capturing reality software they use, and what you see on the screen is a cloudpoint created out of a lot of images. It basically creates a really realistic asset (with random retarded mesh deformities that you have to fix), and Bethesda is using it for both environmental assets and character assets. Basically expect hyper real Khajiit.
John Perry
sure
Cooper Jenkins
Is it any similar to what Capcom does with the RE engine?
This. All this smallbrained shitposters do the same fearmongering nonsense for their TES6 """leaks""" but no one with imagination gives us anything for Starfield. Get to work LARPers, I want a quality shitpost on page 1 by Friday.
Michael Harris
They already showed that it would be in a different emgine. Bad larp sage
Jonathan King
Yes, literally same technique.
Carter King
Also I am certain it will be Niger land because all of the content so far was fucking desert stuff and rocks from Nevada.
Asher Sullivan
It's shit then
Julian Moore
I always assumed it'd be Hammerfell next because it's the only environment left that gamebryo has any chance on handling.
Jason Green
I actually do believe you, in one of their development videos they literally had scans of objects / people you could see on their monitors. This shit will look amazing.
Lucas Bennett
Your ass is leaking, faggot!
Oliver Morgan
>This shit will look amazing
Nigga are you really so retarded you still believe Bethesda at face value? They will simply abandon the whole idea and go back to mediocrity instead.
Jacob Roberts
Which means creating assets for modding purposes that fit in quality with the existing assets will be nigh impossible for the average modder.
So modding will be restricted to number shifts and maybe cheap texture swaps. If there even is any modding allowed.
Angel Martinez
Yeah exactly
Jose Anderson
Leak everything you know about Starfield, mate. You must know something. After Skyrim nobody has any expectations for TES VI, desu. Starfield is supposedly Toddler's dream game which he has been trying to make since the 90s but he was never satisfied with the tech available. This makes me believe he'll put in a modicum of effort into it.
>he was never satisfied with the tech available Yet he keeps on using that patchwork of an engine
Easton Peterson
He clearly doesn't give a shit about TES, he said it himself he's surprised of his own success considering he's been making the same game over and over. He literally said this.
Jason Brown
>Sadly, the game engine will be the FO76 engine with some minor improvements.
This is because he doesn't want to learn how to use a different engine and doesn't want to step away from the game dev.
Gavin Richardson
What does Todd do anyway? Like in terms of the development, does he actually code stuff or is he sitting with Hines all day letting their minions go at it then bask in the glory and the "haha Todd" memes
Jackson Jones
Imagine being so pathetic that for a bit of attention you sit there and write all of this nonsensical bullshit in hopes of recognition.
Jaxson Gutierrez
>my dad works at nintendo Good looking, kiddo. Now tell me about how you have a limited edition holographic Mew card that was only in print for six months during the fall of 1996.
Chase Taylor
Have a (you) faggot.
You don't have a slightest clue of how the development of a game looks like and most of your "leaks" are in direct opposition to what we know and what you've written yourself.
Owen Lewis
>One thing I have to get off my chest is that I doubt the game will be any good at all Guys I think this leak might be legit.
Levi Lee
>Which means creating assets for modding purposes that fit in quality with the existing assets will be nigh impossible for the average modder.
thank FUCK, by TES6 you can actually discuss tes lore on /tesg/ without horndogs spamming their retarded sluts
They tend to start high and whittle down a concept. It won't look photo-realistic but it will certainly be better than their previous games.
Kayden Jackson
The death of waifufags would be the best outcome. Even if one of those degenerates had the equipment not a one of them know a pretty girl. Maybe one would have a hot sister but knowing what will be done to them in game would give them pause in asking.
Jaxson Peterson
>Which means creating assets for modding purposes that fit in quality with the existing assets will be nigh impossible for the average modder. kek Mods for Bethesda game have consistently blown the original assets out of the water when it comes to quality. There's a reason that there is a replacer mod for literally every part of Skyrim.
Easton Turner
Actually that's wrong, again same guy, you can create photogrammetry assets at your home right now. Every person that makes high quality visual mods for Skyrim will be able to create same stuff using said techniques. You just use texture generated from photography or download cracked capturing reality and go out with a camera. The only thing that will be hard are large assets but there are existing building blocks for those on asset stores already. All this means is that shitty asset mods will look jarring and only mods with actual effort will fit in.
Angel Richardson
>IIRC LOL
Jackson Ramirez
Screwing over a bunch of Yea Forums degenerates isn't worth the death of Skyrim modding. For evert retard furry downloading a rape mod you have dozens if not hundreds of people creating stuff like Enderal, The Forgotten City or Beyond Skyrim
Jason Sanchez
They will not abandon it because that's basically impossible at this point, the issues might rise up with rendering engine or lighting. So the assets will look good but the way they are rendered will look shit for example.
Cooper Allen
An invasion event like dark souls games would be pretty awesome in TES
Jaxson Morgan
A sacrifice I am willing to make to end the waifu scourge. If they would stay in their containment board they would be fine. They don't and losing those mods is a price I am willing to pay to purge that scourge.
Todd is specifically the guy that decided to switch to photogrammetry. He is the creative director/lead game designer, which essentially means that he dictates the weather. The way this works in the industry, and I am certain this is almost universal is as follows. >Creative director, lead writer, lead game designer and lead art director meet and figure out the general direction of the game with Todd for example having the loudest voice >Everyone gets their own task and tells their subordinates, like sound designers, art directors and project managers what to do >Trust in turn tell their fodder, the concept artists and coders what to do >Army of asset monkeys create stuff together with their leads, art director for example serving as quality control >Art directors show their stuff to lead art director and he picks out what fits the best >All of the leads report to Todd and be decides if it's good or not >The more automated the team is the better it is perceived >Usually teams use scrum and agile stuff for iterative development This basically leads to hyper controlled but most likely soulless product. Going full soul is super risky and usually ends in development hell.
Grayson Cruz
>I doubt the game will be any good at all. wow big news
Well I've never visited /tesg/ and when it comes to Yea Forums chances are 50/50 that a thread will be good or invaded by porn pics retards. Modding can turn Skyrim from a turd to a unique gaming experience, the game is still being played non stop a full decade later because stuff like Enderal or Ultimate Skyrim exists, and there's more on the horizon. Skywind, Skyblivion, Skyrim Together, Beyond Skyrim. Not to mention what's already out, as soon as Moonpath to Elsweyr as soon as 2012. And then there's stuff like Helgen Reborn, The Forgotten City, VIGILANT... and all of this is only regarding quest mods, not even talking about gameplay changes, graphics, music, mechanics... I'm not willing to let it all burn because of a containment board
Sebastian Wood
>The people close to me who have played later builds told me that it has a ton of very repetitive dungeons which are unlike traditional dungeons but rather like levels that you pass and get a score on. Lmao, no
Dumb nigger read post above. Tech is available to the public, it's not some secret shit. You can create same kind of assets right now and any fucking college devkid can too. The only thing that will happen is that shit mods will look even more shit now.
Ryan Diaz
Because every amateur modder has the equipment, software and knowhow for it.
Juan Smith
Nig nog I know, we're talking about a what if
Eli Robinson
Yes, I know that much for sure. No one has told me that but the assets we are giving them are with 8k resolution diffuse maps and above, not to mention high polycounts in clutter assets and techniques like tessellation. Current gen would explode from this sort of shit.
Brandon Diaz
>shit QA gets cut and leaks never work in games again
Carson Wright
I am in the industry for 3 years, 24 years old. Most modders are currently older than me and if we are talking about guys like trainwiz they are industry level coders. If I can make assets that are good enough for AAA studio 3 years of of college, modders will be able to do so too. Capturing reality is cracked, zbrush and Maya/3dmax/c4d etc. have always been cracked and same goes for substance designer. I'm saying that all the good modders right now, the ones that make cool swords or he texture packs already have enough knowledge to adapt to new work flow, it's an issue only for shit modders and who gives a fuck about those?
Eli Reed
>generals >game discussion This never happens.
Ryan Robinson
So it's paid mods by quasi-professionals only. Got it. Also trainwiz is a faggot.
Brandon Lee
Just like how no one is modding RE2? Oh right, games with photoscan techniques have been modded for past 2 years already.
William Stewart
What the fuck are you complaining about? Should games stop using new asset creation techniques? Are you a brainlet?
Todd here. Here's a leak for all you: OP is a faggot. Also buy all of my games.
Jack Evans
this is something he would actually say
David Martin
Well modders have had 10 years to practice with Skyrim
Luis Jenkins
Just The Hand or King Crimson it
Levi Adams
Xbox should buy Bethesda force them to co-develop all of their IPs with Obsidian and put the best modders out there into the development team, i don't give a shit if it becomes an exclusive i just want some actual RPGs
Lincoln White
I read somewhere they were using enlighten for global illumination and lighting.
This is written like any old retard at Yea Forums would write it, at least try to be convincing
Ryan Sullivan
This team doesn't have Kuhlmann and Michael kirkbride, thus it won't have amazing setting like Morrowind. Did you even listen to Ted Peterson interviews? He is all in randomly generated stuff like daggerfall, the same endless content shit.
photogrammetry is such a meme 90% of the realism is in the lighting system. even oblivion's assets look photorealistic if you plug them into a raytracer
he has said lots of times what he does. he is most active at the beginning of a games development and at the end. at the start he decides the tone, map, overall story and big gameplay and design choices. at the end he is the one who tries to bring everything together created over 3 years into a single cohesive game that flows well.
Jackson Thomas
>Yea Forums hates the radiant procedural generation shit, limited dialogue options, generic npcs and copy paste of bethesda games >starts wanting daggerfall 2.0 which is all that turned up to 11 all because of a couple bad games and muh engine memes >will come crawling back to Todd when this studios first game comes out and is absolute trash and the studio goes bankrupt, if the game even comes out before that happens
just save yourself the trouble and start apologizing to Todd now
