Also, I think FFXV's combat could have worked if it relied on RPG elements (like fucking magic for starters) so if that's a thing in this remake then simply pressing attack is gonna give you the same results as only choosing "attack" in the original game. I am the first to criticize SE on their bullshit because i honestly think everything after X has been utter crap. All those gambit and auto play gameplays are totally shit. I am right there with you but i think this one looks slightly different (as in, they are at least trying)

For what they´ve shown regular attacks do nothing except charge the ATB gauge faster. It´s basically the equivalent of the old waiting animations because those would look silly with real time gameplay. Once the ATB is full, that´s when you can actually do shit. I think this is meant for the characters to do something while you are taking action with another character or something. It could work better than anything they´ve done in the past 20 years.

I won´t say "give them a chance" though, not before the game is actually released. They don´t have that kind of credit with me anymore and they absolutly ALWAYS lie in their marketing campaing... but since it is VII i´ll be honest with myself and reckon i am going to play it. I know it´s going to be open world full of shit level fetch quests and i know they are likely to fuck up the story (because every other FF VII related media has done so) but still...
