Outside of his animu shit his only game with good gameplay is Ground Zeroes which was clearly a mistake because he went and ruined it in MGSV. He makes bad stealth games with bad shooting and calls them "Tactical Espionage Action" games since if you compared them to their peers the games would be awful messes. Splinter Cell even at its "recent" worst does stealth and gunplay better then MGS. Lets not even compare it to a 100% stealth games like Thief.

It probably will win GOTY due to all the Kojima drones, but Control was my favorite game.

I mean I think the core gameplay wouldnt be so obviously derivative and stupid even with zero changes if you actually removed missions from the game rather than repairing existing ones. For example, if you only kept the Kaz, the honeybee, the Huey, Quiet and maybe the tank battalion mission in afghanistan, youd already be way more impressed with what you have instead of diluting the mechanics by making you use them in endless shitty missions. Maybe turn some of the side missions like a hero's way and another one or two into the side ops for Afghanistan

Then do the same for Africa, only keep missions like Voices, the one with the child soldiers in the cave, the code talker. Repeat situation with side ops

Then finish the game off with OKB zero and Sahelanthropus. Sprinkle all of the "chapter 2" cutscenes and relevant content before that somewhere before that point instead

In the game there are various vehicle that you'll acquire as you progress, one of em is a exoskeleton, the one they're using is the level 1 variant(low battery ver.). Either a high level player drops and it spawns in your world, or you can get it midgame.

There are other vehicles in the game too, like a E-Bike, a hover cargo(which you can use to ease your load or Skate 4 your way down a slope) and more bigger vehicles like truck. although some vehicle would be rendered useless as some Home Base are sitting in a steep mountainous path.

Name 1 (ONE) game Kojima made that was GOTY.

yes it will. looking at what works and condensing your 40-100 hour slog into a focused infiltration game with tons of side fluff instead sounds infinitely preferable to diluting the repetitive core gameloop by forcing you to complete very poor and menial tasks over and over and over and over with one "unique" bit sprinkled in between every now and then. Almost all of the missions in the game are practically reskins of eachother. Chaos theory and Thief 2 would also be complete abominations if they were 100 hour games with their current missions merely sprinkled somewhere in the haze of repetitive and low quality missions that take the majority of your playtime
