At the end of Prototype, his biomass is insane and would easily overwhelm 682. As soon as Mercer envelops the lizard, it's over. Its biomass is broken down and added to the whole and Mercer becomes completely indestructible. None of 682s baseline abilities can defeat Mercer and it likely wouldn't even know what it was dealing with until it was too late.

This is funny, but concluding that the subject was only immune to suicide because he didn't consent to testing is a bit of a logical leap. It could have been that he was immune to physical damage but not lethal chemical injection. It depends on what you mean by that? If you mean people come up with more broken and unstoppable SCPs, not really. Some people do that but that's not the general attitude of the site and those articles tend to get removed quickly if they aren't superb or written by an established writer there, but I digress. If you mean by making things more flashy and prettier in presentation than other articles, then yes, I see that all the time. Nobody's content with just a text body anymore. There HAS to be some sort of bullshit CSS or HTML code in there or your SCP isn't epic enough.
