>muh realism

it's just a picture. settle down

just stop running into them, retard

Because the makers of Blasphemous couldn't find a way to balance out the trash enemies to make them pose an actual threat instead of just being roadblocks.

shit design

play la mulana, you can walk through spikes

nice, you figured out what game i'm currently playing

They are fair.
Theyre clear and easy to distinguish that touching them is failure

What isnt fair is the long fucking amount of time it takes to fucking respawn from touching them.

the alternative would be you can freely run around out of bounds for an extended period of time while invincibility cools off

I can only think of Mega Man when it comes to spikes that are lethal on all sides. Even then I don't think they're spikes like that.

It's fairer than bottomless pits. mostly because you know that spikes kills you. pit could have a secret in there or it's instant death.

go to bed penitent one

Miiverse was not a mistake

this looks like it would be an insurance nightmare

>Death spikes everywhere
>Able to be crushed between platforms
>bottomless death pits that kill you no matter that ring count or invincibility item
Man, sanic devs were sadistic. no wonder so many plebs prefered mayrio who is also a nice guy

They're actually very large sharpened triangles.

>that part in 8-bit sonic 1 where a pit is the right way
>it's right next to a death pit
I mean, I think it was the 8 bit version but still it's some bullshit.

>A wound from the simpler punji stick trap was almost never fatal but was instead designed to take soldiers out of the fight while increasing the battle fatigue of those left on the field.
>To increase their potency, the Viet Cong would smear punji sticks with either poison or their own feces thus raising the likelihood of an infection taking hold in the wound much greater.

big steppy

Yes impaling someone with a spike won't kill you, why did humanity use spears for thousands of years

>Fall into a pit where ferocious starved lolis await
war is hell

>I haven't played very many video games
