Spellcleave is the only "comp" that exists and it consists of 3-4 Mages, 1 Healer and either a Warlord or Warrior if 3 mages. You will have 0 trouble making normal groups because there are 4 other classes in the game that want to do groups and can't get into spellcleave groups or they just don't want to do them.

Go make some groups for things YOU actually want to do.

Did about 30 or so dungeons before quitting. People talked in about half of them, mainly because the dungeons were piss easy and required no communication. Even then, half the "communication" was just people saying "shit" or "my bad"

MC was literally rushed out the door instead of being cut. Classic is also 1.12 talents which substantially empowered classes. Classic is also released with over a decade of private server theory-crafting and practice.

When you get Remorselessness and Improved Ambush you'll reliably smash about 50% of a mob's health on every opener. But you'll also have to slowly stealth behind every mob, and god help you if you pull two.

lvl 40 still going, hard to find proper quests and zones to do tho, every quest I got is orange or red. For me classic is more like "you think you don't but you do." I was shitting on vanilla as well thinking I'd just stick to retail. BfA makes me decide to give classic to shot and it turns out pretty fine.

I levelled a rogue to 52, and I'm considering unsubbing now, because I literally can not get a dungeon group for anything. It is exclusively spellcleave, and they are gatekeeping anyone but mage.
The tanks and healers have no reason at all to not run spellcleave, so the rest of us can't even do questruns.

So a 41 level paladin who I made an iron spike for his shield and attached It (When he was like 32level). Asked me today If I could attach a mithril spike for his shield. My blacksmithing was only 190 so I couldnt attach it. When I told him this he said he would pay for the leveling fees. So I got my blacksmithing to 215 cost him 22G.

Things Classic WoW Specializes In

1. Community - While it may not be the best, there is a lot more communication, socializing, and in general teamwork than retail WoW. Forced communication is a requirement to do elite quests, dungeons, pvp, etc.
2. Fulfilling Content - because the game is such a time sink, everything in the game feels more rewarding. Gaining a leveling, leveling up professions, getting a new blue, etc.
3. Unique Feeling Classes - Every class has something it can bring to the table that no other class can. This is NOT purely from a combat perspective. You have a lot of utility features that add to this. Ranging from Buffs (like blessings), to summoning, to free food, etc. This adds to a more individual identify for players and their classes.
4. PvP Combat - While spec balance is not there, PvP combat in general has a lot more...thought than others. Everything in a PvP battle is impactful and the PvP combat truly doesn't shine unless you take advantage of everything in the game. Ranging from specialty items, engineering, and first aid. All of this plus your class together creates a high skill ceiling for players and strategies.

Things Classic does NOT specialize in.
1. Endgame PvE - the endgame PvE content is not that...difficult. The designs are uninspired and boring. Dated. As they should be. It is a grind, but it is not nearly as fun/interesting as retail endgame PvE design.
2. Balance - While I don't want the same route as retail where everything is standardized to oblivion, Classic balance is shit on multiple levels. Specs being too strong in certain areas (cleave groups), other specs being bad or not preferred.
3. PvP Balance - Without first aid and engineering, so many pvp specs are utter shit.
4. Casual Friendly - not saying that this is a pro or a con. However, this game is not casual friendly at all. You need to put in a significant amount of time into this game and playing it slowly will put you behind the pact big time.

5. Endgame PvE rotations. Most specs have horribly boring rotations.

With all that being said, we will not be seeing the success or failure of WoW Classic till the populace majority starts reaching levels 40+. That is when progression slows down even more. Where a day of playing will only equal 1 level or less for a majority of people.

Then once even more start getting to endgame, the PvP and PvE issues will become more recognized.

If all these together will not please them, it will fail.

Personally, I will probably play Classic for PvP and Retail for PvE. PvP in both suck honestly for each of their respective issues, but classic is more fun in my eyes.

You are basically slow like a warrior but you can heal yourself, so less downtime. But still slow.
You are also a good counter to rogues when you get reckoning so theres that.

In terms of game design it's a lot more enjoyable than the soulless kluge that is modern wow. But I stopped playing because, while it's a fundamentally good game, I've done it all already. It feels too forced. I just hope the industry sees classic as an indicator for what people want out of a game, and make something new.

It would only be optimal because of the way that the encounters are built. The big problem with classic raiding is that the encounter design doesn't enforce other spells, and the debuff limit makes it even worse. Think about how different the rotation of a mage would be on the Heigan the Unclean fight if they were constantly forced to do the dance like the melee users.

i tried retail some time back and we had a robot once we actually found. i found they were healing when i took damage, and were staying behind me. i told everyone to stop and walked aroudn by myself and they were on follow on me. then i went and started to fight a mob and they started healing. i was like theyre on follow on me. when we seen them healing then we were like wtf. we kicked them and someone else instantly apppeared.

If you've paid attention for more than a single second, you would have noticed that vanilla was never built around raiding. Every system that it has for itself works in every scenario but raiding. The debuff limit reflects that. The fact that Molten Core, the main raid released with the game, was designed in a week reflects that.

Sometimes they don't even seem to find mages, although I guess it's possible I'm only seeing the most annoying ALL CAPS spammers everyone else is ignoring.

i played on this one pay2win cracked server. it was pay the admins and you can get pretty much admin priveldges. i hated any aspects of pay2win, and these losers were losers so they didnt like me. they started giving me shit in the game.
one day this group was looking for a tank for a zul-gurub run. i said ill go. get invite, join. like within a minute they kick me. im like i message teh guy running it up and say wtf why? he says, 3 pepole say they dont want to go if you do. its not me its the pay2winners and their new buttfuckfriends. im like fine. 30 minutes later, this group is still messaging in world chat, looking for tank last spot for zg. i message the dude up and i say, hey man, kick those 3 retards and take me, we'll replace them in 5 minutes and be running in 10. he said ok. i joined. 3 people leaves. well most of them left before i even joined so that I can't know who they are. 1 leaves when i join but the gropu was at 17 before i joined.
i join, they do lfdps zg. fill in like less than a minute. they summon all of us. were there and in side running it in under 10 minutes. and finish teh dungeon.

i played before the honor system back in teh day and i dont remember any guards spawning but i never raided any towns, i was too low level. i think maybe, after the honor patch they made certain characters civilians, so they wanted some characters to not be killed, so i think htey added this time after here if you kill a later on civilian quest giver mob, that they add guards.
i remember the alliance raiding crossroads all the time is what i remember, until enough horde showed up to take htem out then they would run off somewhere and port out. like every day. on skywall.

No. You can free character migrate if you're on a high pop server, but the destination is preset for each server. There are no paid character transfers, and no word if there ever will be yet

private servers would be the best way, but most are probably empty of players now.

Classic WoW economies across all of the servers have been hit with a massive exploit. Layering worked in dungeons to respawn end-of-dungeon bosses. This lead to BIS farming, truefaith vestment, robe of the void, etc. Exploiters killed bosses 1000s of times over the past week gaining in some cases, 100,000+ GOLD, epic mount, ironfoe, HOJ, recipes, etc en masse.

"There’s a weird interaction of when you leave the instance group of a cleared ID and join an entirely different outside world layer that when it drags you over there, you’re technically out of that original group’s ID and the teleport goes away but your geographical position doesn’t change. I always found AB to be easier with horde, horde players always went lumber mill and as a priest thats the best place to mindcontrol.

I did felt like alliance had an advantage in AV since it was harder to backdoor cap against an alliance player as horde.

Yes, but now when you get to the level 30+ zones, you have to deal with Horde 5+ levels higher than you ganking you and camping you for no good reason, with no help in the area. It's a trade-off.
I honestly hate PvP, and knew I hated PvP going in, but I still rolled on a PvP server because it's where my friends were choosing, and because it felt like it's the "way it's meant to be played." Now that I'm in the mid-30s, though, it's starting to hit that shitty point.
