He was a producer at a company with a large talent pool during their prime. After leaving the company and trying to make it on his own, he forgot one critical fact. That the only reason the games with his name are on it are good is because it was a team of Capcom's best behind those projects that made them into what they were, not him.
This moron thought he could draw some concept art, throw it at any old studio and expect them to shit out gold. He fucked up Mighty No. 9, he fucked up ReCore and he fucked up Ninja Gaiden Yaiba. Those western studios he praised and loved so much back when he was at Capcom talking shit about Japanese devs and Capcom's internal studios? Yeah, look how well those projects shit out. Kamiya said that Inafune was a businessman, but he said that as a compliment. But we can see now that without Capcom and their staff, Inafune is nothing. This arrogant ass thought he was top dog and anything he touches would lead to gold. It's why Mighty No. 9 was the state that it was at release. Inafune and Comcept did the bare minimum.
MN9 was made by a japanese studio though. One that made several Mega Man games.

Bionic Commando was such a bomb that they had an emergency meeting and the Capcom Prez said no more outsourcing, and all new games will be made internally. Inafune was forced out because the outsourced games were all a disaster. Inafune seemed to just think that Western devs are magic, and not realizing that the high selling games are by the best Western studios, while Inafune was hiring budget ones. This is why Inafune and Ben Judd were forced out.
The rest of Inafune's outsourced games were aleady too long in dev to cancel, so they let them come out over the next few years. Then they got to work making new engines, upgrading their internal tech, and then making games, which took a few more years. Inafune left in 2010, but it wasn't until like 2016 that Capcom rebounded.
The entire "Capcom is back" is because the company removed Inafune, and abandoned his "Jap game development is dead, let's outsource everything". It's all a total repudiation of Inafune.

I never said it wasn't I liked everything involving 2(OTR, C:Z, C:W), these games maintained quality because Capcom was still involved for most of the development. the only place the DR2 series struggles is graphically, which is likely because CV/BCG handled the assets.
