Don't mind me, just posting the best Castlevania.
Don't mind me, just posting the best Castlevania
It's the only Classicvania with controls/physics that don't immediately piss me off.
First one I ever played. I had the Vampire's Kiss version.
But that's not Charlotte's game, user!
All of the soundtrack on this game is fantastic and the casltevania X6800 being close to second
castlevania 3
Big fat loli oppai
>Knight axes still hit you even when you kneel down to avoid it
This game is fucking horseshit.
Even if castlevania ever got resurrected it hurts knowing there will never be another one like CotM. I know a lot of people hate it but its my favorite.
I liked Dracula X more.
Aria of Sorrow sucks so much
I hated Castlevania for the longest time until I found out you can attack projectiles
Try that
Whip the axes. Backflip over them when they run for style points.
Most Castlevania games are very fair throughout, but Dracula X has a lot of bullshit in it from what I remember.
I like Castlevania 64 the most. fight me.
it's no Shaman King Master of Spirits.
Yeah, it's probably the hardest 2d game in the franchise. Definitely still like it more despite the cruel difficulty curve.
You should try Legacy of Darkness, if you haven't already. It's basically a strict upgrade.
3 is better since is has something called level design, something that Rondo lacks.
yep, love legacy of darkness too, but i love the overall grainy and dread feel to 64.
Who /bizarrely incongruous soundtrack/ here?
As an EvergraceChad yes
I agree but mainly because of More Castlevania games should have had cute witch lolis, oppai or otherwise.
Why not just "cute witches"?
Opus 13 is the best out of place song ever.
Also OP, I prefer X68000, but I nonetheless enjoy some of the fun set pieces Rondo designed. The Bible subweapon is also tremendously satisfying to use.
I love Rondo but I’ll always love IV more because it’s the first game I remember.
gotta draw more cinnamon roll and miriam with shanoa find some time to do something
There are a good number of witches in the series but Maria is by far the most popular/beloved for a reason.
I'd be curious of who is more popular: Maria or Shanoa. Never see Maria fanart anymore, but Shanoa stuff still gets made.
scas pisses me off gotta draw good
good taste, both in music and games
Gotta draw new. Can't get better if you just draw the same image over and over.
Maria still gets regular art on pixiv.
It's Carrie who fucking surprises me is still being drawn. The one autist who draws tons of her doesn't, but the guy isn't alone.
>3ds shanoa sequel was cancelled
>we'll never see an older, milf shanoa
>Best castlevania
At this point, Every single castlevania is amazing in a certain aspect for me.
I am overwhelmed by sorrow when I realize that my favourite series has devolved into a gacha game for mobile and pachislots.
youtube.com
What a truly horrible night to have the curse of liking castlevania games.
The patrician Rondo of Blood song:
At least both Bloodstained games turned out well. Things could be far worse for Castlevania fans than they are right now.
>bloodstained dlc eventually
>cute porn girl getting updates
>season 3 of the show someday
>possibility of soma, alucard, or shanoa in smash fighter pass 2
>possible pressure from bloodstained and the change to pachinko laws making konami consider another actual castlevania game
that pisses me off quit it
>Bloodstained dlc eventually
meh. although bloodstained is a decent game, It never comes close to exhibiting something unique or capturing the essence of castlevania (music, artstyle, gothic/baroque/macabre atmosphere), achieving a middle ground but failing in both aspects.
>cute porn girl getting updates
Has nothing to do with castlevania.
>season 3 of the show someday
average show with bad to mediocre at best writing. Nothing to write home about.
>smash
No.
>possible pressure from bloodstained
Oh my sweet summer child. Konami doesn't have the least bit of intention on making games other than cash grabs. unless there is a change in the higher management, who knows when it will happen.
Whats the best Castlevania game not made by Konami? Pic semi related.
>reddit spacing
>extremely pessimistic
How do you even live with yourself?
I don't think it's unfair most of the time but it gives you more options than other classicvanias and demands that you use them. For example, walking backwards is very useful in several situations and I think most people don't even know you can do that.
Damn OP I'm impressed. For once OP isn't a coomer.
The first line was mostly on the money though?
I enjoyed ritual lot, and it was quite decent in most respects, but it was lacking a lot of that bullshit we call SOUL and other people call style and attention to detail. All the areas(except maybe glacial tomb) kinda had a bland feel like it was just going through the motions. The music was passable, but nothing really memorable(not that later CV titles had a lot of those either, but most entries had one or two that really grabbed your nuts.) It kinda "tried" on the atmosphere with shit like Bloodless, but the way they worked it looks more comical than gothic horror.
That said, there really isn't a better way to out oneself as a low-test, milkbrained coyboi than posting that snootypatooty sweet summer child faggotry. It's as reddit as you get.
What'd you guys think of COTM?
I thought it was fine, but it really felt like I was expected to grind out more DSS cards. Without them, the bosses last ages.
I liked that one a lot too, but the running complaint is fair. I got fucking sick of that shit.
Imagine being one of the Belmonts active between Dracula’s deaths and resurrection. What the hell do you do, aside from train your kid to be able to train his kid to fight Dracula?
Same thing every other Belmont does it seems like. Somebody's always fucking around and bringing him back early.
>game called bloodstained but everything ingame is as tame and all age friendly as possible.
I can't recollect a single spooky, eerie, unsettling, blood related thing (except a blood boss) in the game. For gods sake there aren't even dead bodies or skeletons in the game. Why is there such a blatant misdirection in the title when it is nothing more than a kids game?
Hunt other monsters, I guess. There seems to be no shortage of them.
I know it wasn't made by the same devs but I was surprised by how RotN doesn't take itself too seriously after how somber CotM was.
I’d be down for a game that does this, like if an older Richter storms Castle Frankenstein and fights homunculi and other mad science experiments, or a Classicvania that follows a werewolf hunt across several stages. I don’t think anyone else would be too keen on a Castlevania without the actual Castlevania though.
You mean best Classicvania.
good taste user.
That's a, different game though. I think you're confusing X with XX
>I hated Castlevania for the longest time until I found out you can attack projectiles
Did you even play the original games, I'm pretty sure some stages are literally impossible without whipping projectiles
