Redpill me on platinum games Yea Forums are they good or a meme? Also whats their best and worst game?

There are somethings that get added to games that just make you wonder what they were thinking. They should have just had the different types of weapons and allowed you to switch their elements. No levels. No random stats. No bullshit.

It's a toss-up for me. 1 is better mechanically, but 2 has better boss fights.

I liked 2 more but I'm a scrub that never played NSIC. Mostly because I liked the weapons in 2 more. Also Bayonetta's hair. Also police outfit B, hot dang.

Best is probably Bayonetta, although Astral Chain's my favorite now.

They're decent but don't hold a candle to Capcom. Best is Bayonetta (God Hand if you consider Clover Studios), worst is Bayonetta 2 or Korra.

B2 was also pretty bad but at least better than TD

1, but I also don't think Bayo 1 is as amazing as some do. 2 has better visual design, weapon design, bosses (outside of clusterfuck Lumen Sage fights), story, post-game/extras, etc. but the combat got so fucked that it's still a weaker game than 1 at its core. It's a 7.5/10 for all the wasted potential.

W101 & Devastation both iterate on Bayonetta in unique and innovative ways that improve on the formula, which is something 2 failed at big-time.

Yeah, I'm play AC right now, and the first two or three HOURS had me saying "this is okay, but is this really it?" and then they give you the real mechanics, and they're cool, but it makes you wonder why the game needed such a long prologue.

They didn't. They just assisted the actual team behind it. Asset creation, that kind of stuff.

It was more that Platinum did assets, animation, coding, etc. while Miyamoto's team was up top. That game's whole problem was Miyamoto's approach to developing it; the first idea was steering a spaceship with Gamepad gyro, then StarFox being the IP for it.

Bayo 2 plays too defensively and leans too hard on witch time. Bayo 1 played best on Infinite Climax because it removed WT from the game altogether, which they couldn't even do for 2 because it's so vital to its less aggressive combat.
For Vanquish I was expecting Max Payne 1 meets Bayonetta but instead I got a faster Gears of War with infinite bullet time and a cool looking sprint animation.

All their recent games have been all Bayonetta knock offs. If it weren't for Astral Chain, I would have made the claim that they're a garbage dev team not worth looking into. There's still some spark there but honestly it seems like most of the real talent is either gone or isn't fucking working on anything.
