What should I emulate RIGHT NOW?
Rune Factory games also accepted.

Rimworld is a fun farming sim

How moddable is Stardew Valley?

A lot

Rimworld is just Dwarf Fortress for normies

Karen(64) best girl

It's the only real positive it has is that it can be mostly fixed with mods.

Doesn't mean it isn't fun

PLEASE be good, new incoming Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.

This series is becoming such a shit. I'm tired of shitty, half-assed games. The last "good" HM was animal parade.

The harvest is coming.

>star dew update delayed because the fuck in charge of console ports fucked everything up

>spinoff with shitty IP looks better than a remake of one of the most beloved games of the franchise

why

Imagine failing to support your game that was a tremendous runaway success

that does look great.

What the FUCK did they do to Karen? Mary looks way better though.

made her cute

this art looks like shit, the GBA looked better.
The SNES one looked better.

But Doraemon is one of the most beloved franchises in Japan. The remake does look like crap though.

Now post the Harvest Goddes

currently on my first winter in stardew valley, going to try to get some iridium for spring

Most of the harvest moon games I played always had the bug that deletes your save file or corrupts it. Really pissed me off, how hard is it to fix that!? Especially after consecutive games! Are they just copying and pasting code! Cause making a "mistake" like that multiple games in a row suggests they just reused code and didn't bother fixing it. I prefer playing the older harvest moon games instead of stardew valley but that bug really enrages me.

ive never experienced this, to the point where I suspect you must be doing something wierd.
which games did it happen in?

Works on my machine.

Any good farming games without stamina? If not, is Gleaner Heights ok?

if youre gonna be a wuss about it just cheat menu Stardew.

It really is. Bonus for town-building and violence.

They made her tall. Have they shown Ann yet?

Should I start the series at Back to Nature?

I think the main problem was that the netcode was originally done by Chucklefuck. Now that Barone is going solo and subcontracting the ports I won't be surprised if the netcode didn't hold up to newer stuff.

What's the best comfy rural life simulator out right now?

>the main problem was Chucklefuck
Fixed. Those dog-killing pathological liars ruin everything.

sauce on dog killing?

LET ME KEK GREY AS A LESBIAN

I wouldn't consider him blameless considering multiplayer was planned from inception and he apparently had no foresight to make sure the netcode could be implemented without retrofitting the whole fucking thing

Rune Factory 3.
Raven a best, your waifu a shit.

based

Are there any MMO's with a HM-style farming profession?
I have one that seems to work, but I'd be interested to hear about others.

What is it?

64 is better IMO. Back to Nature has more stuff, but I like 64's map way better and there are some emotional scenes that land better as well.

probably not what you had in mind, but My Summer Car

I agree Sofia, Raven is shit

user kill your self.

Durango: Wild Lands.
It's a mobile game that's basically like ARK, but from a top-down perspective and with a more reasonable combat system.
Farming is a skill in there, and you get your own personal island that you can grow crops on, and even be able to cook them into stat-buffing dishes, or weave together into clothing, including some of the best armor in the game.
There are some caveats I should mention, though all can be handled to various degrees if you ask about them in the in-game chat:
>All the crops grow in real time, (1-72 Hrs, depending on crop type and level)
>You have to do a set of time-gated researches to master farming that can take up to a week, assuming you get enough exp to get to the next research immediately after you finish one.
>A fatigue bar that fills when doing most any action and passively when out in open areas, and needs to be rested over the course of an hour with standard resting areas, about 10 mins with premium resting areas, or about 10 seconds with store fatigue relievers.
>Skill points make it so that you cannot master Farming, Cooking, and Tailoring without missing vital skills in other areas.
>It's by Nexon, which was a notable sticking point when I mentioned it last.

Thinking about making a low poly HM clone, give me your best ideas anons

time progression. Anything so then there's a reason to play it for a long time to see how things change.

I really really love Raven.

I spent so much time in this comfy valley. Even in middle school when I would go over to my friend's house he would always ask me to bring it and we would just chill.

It was yesterday, OP.

plantation slaves. Just think about it -- how perfect they would fit into a farming game

Intra-villager heart levels/events

what would bring this "genre" to the next level?

Something to do with the money once you have a lot of it

>cartels pressuring you to hide bodies under the cornrows
>potato blight
>have to stop cults from performing sacrifices in the fields
>crop circles

2nd to last one is the only good looking one

Portia is really the only good one on that list and it's barely a farming game

Based.

>Farming games have gotten too stale and repetitive, what should we do to fix that?
>I know! Let's make it look and play like a cheap Chinese MMO with no personality!
>And make sure to get rid of that dumb stuff like marriage and children! People don't want that, they want more adventure!

Lol.

I've only played these Harvest Moon games, but I want to start another one. Any recs?
>SNES
Played this back in the day and fell in love with all.
>N64
Played this one the most. 10/10 comfy.
>PSP
I could never really get into this one.
>Stardew Valley
Have this on Stream, but haven't played yet since the Tumblr art looks like SJW fanwank and I get overwhelmed when I look into the anime mods and such.

I have basically every console, so no limitations there. I also saw that Rune Factory 4 is getting remastered for Switch. Always wanted to play a Rune Factory game. Should I just wait for it, or are the RF games not as comfy as the mainline HM games?

If you want another HM try out trio of Towns (3ds) or Animal Parade (wii).
Both emulate nicely and are some of the better games in the series.

If you want to give RF a try then RF3 is the perfect place to jump in. You get a good taste of what makes a Rune Factory game and the game itself isn't very long,
Jumping in at RF3 has one downside however and that is that the series got better with each numbered game so by starting at the user friendly RF3 it makes 1 and 2 much harder tyo play because they lack basic features in comparison.

Attached: 0001.png (400x960, 533K)

Stardew Valley is just fine user. There aren't that many anime mods, and you just need one. It's an easy install. You don't really need any other mods, the game is really good. The only I'd recommend is the villager faces on map mod so you can easily find people.

RF games are extremely comfy. I've only play RF3 though, and I had a great time.

wrong, you farm loot

>You'll never be able to go back to your childhood and have those comfy gaming sessions.
Being an adult sucks so much bros...

I've almost got the Platinum trophy for harvest Moon: a wonderful life. All I need to do is sleep through a year and a half to get the final two story chapters trophies. It's taking ages, God help me.

I'm impressed but also scared

Good taste

I didn't even realise I wanted this. Has anyone actually made a slave plantation simulator?

Thank you!

This is now a run fak thread
