Why not?
>I got that boneitis.

To answer future questions, pic is Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva where your body thinks every injury is way worse than it is, and replaces damaged tissue with bone. People usually die crushed by their own skeleton and there's no cure.

Now back to VIDEOGAMES.

Attached: necochaoswalk.gif (34x49, 4K)

>inb4 why don't you just have surgery to remove all of the excess bone?

Exmortis 1 and 2

if your body makes more bones just remove those too lmao

Just don’t get injured lol

I remember those episodes.

I'll take this position. Maybe I'll still be able to play video games until the bones in my fingertips stop moving.

unironically P.T

>He thinks that having a “no injury” life will stop new bone growth
>He thinks that not taking calcium will stop new bone growth.
It’s a genetic disorder, user. Muscles get damaged as life goes on regardless of how much little activity is going on, it’s why your body develops into an adult.

I would love to play this one, but shame I don't speak moon runes.

It’s subjective as fuck. If you’re trying to get legit spooked, instead of asking for the “scariest FPS” it might be better to explore games that deal with things you find frightening. For example if you’ve got thalassophobia a game like subnautica could be really terrifying where as it wouldn’t be to someone else.

So what are YOU afraid of?

Metro 2033 was so scary it gave me nightmares

lol

White Day a Labyrinth called school (original) or Condemned Criminal Origins.

>flash games are scary
2009 is calling

Is this bait? The game's atmospheric, sure. But nightmares? Which part specifically?

>White Day: A Labyrinth Named School (2001)
are you me
I was just playing this about an hour ago and i finally made it to the new building

No I get scared easily though. I'm also claustrophobic, so going through the subway system was pretty spooky. Lost in Vivo was also very spooky

F.E.A.R.

>library mini-game in Metro Last Light
Never finished it because I was too much of a pussy.

Worth playing through both singleplayer and multiplayer, but be advised the multiplayer is just hilarious

Good game. I heard they had to tone down the scary elements because it was too intense for some players. Is that true or just a marketing gimmick?

that's the remake
i only played it on mobile because it launched on there first, don't ask me about the console/pc version i never played it

exmortis was an exceptional horror game if you let yourself get into it

exmortis 2 was pretty shit though

its being scared by bathroom ghost 30 times.

thats really a let down, the way it looked, i was thinking the game was saying you had to stay in the bathroom long enough to smell a dump

>original
>2001
How many times must this be stated? You're looking at the shit steam version. Ignore that one, do not get it. Get the ORIGINAL version, the 2001 version, the ORIGINAL VERSION.

ah nah
the game is actually short and you are expected to experience the various endings
i think the remake has over 10 or something

The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?

Throughout the game there are optional ghosts that you can find in certain events. That achievement is for one of them. The remake added a few

> I heard they had to tone down the scary elements because it was too intense for some players
They toned it down via difficulty options, but yeah. I don't think it was a marketing gimmick, just that some people aren't very good with horror games. Remember all the buzz Amnesia got, it's similar to that.

Sonnori supposedly removed at least one ghost that I know (The Grandfather Ghost) because players were getting creeped out by him stalking you outside of windows
Other ghosts were cut too but it is not clear as to why

>Remove all the excess bone
>Body decides it's doing a shit job and decides to replace all that bone with even more bone than it had before

I forgot this was a thing, damn. At some point I'd just ask for death, man.

if you want to denote this, type (platform), not original. If you say original then you are designating that *title* of the game as *being the original version*

please act aggressively toward other people when you are intelligent. thanks.

youtu.be/9KsVlZCkdq0
fuck this world, what’s the fucking point of suffering like this

Blame the parents. They had the option to let her die and forced her through it to show everyone how strong they all were.

I wonder how much bone could cover your body if you wounded yourself in a specific way to stay alive as long as possible.

There's no first-person game scarier than Silent hill 1-4. Play those, pussy.

>if you want to denote this, type (platform), not original. If you say original then you are designating that *title* of the game as *being the original version*
Both versions of the game are on the same platforms and both are on the same platforms. Maybe next time you should use better google-fu instead of immediately going into steam to find out about a game. Also if 2001 isn't a dead giveaway, that's just you being retarded

>Both versions of the game are on the same platforms and both are on the same platforms.
*Both have the same name

post they originally mentioned didn't have the year but yeah

I have is the thing, they're scary and wonderful in their own rights but they don't immerse me the way FP games do.

Can't they choose to fucking die?

That looks pretty rad.

Grow up faggot

Just don't get hit lol

>Remove all the excess bones in your body
>Your body keeps making more and more bones
>Suddenly there's skeletons everywhere

>Body can make bone grow wherever it wants.
>Yet it refuses to grow taller after sometime and refuses to further develop the bones on your face.

No, that's clearly inhumane. Forcing them to survive as they slowly petrify with no hope of recovery is the best choice.

I think Afraid of Monsters was better, but CoF is still good too

so if you get rid of your skin, your body would create bone plating to protect you?
holy shit that's OP

>trade all dex for max prot.
not worth it

why not let her die a somewhat normal, if short, human life instead of having them suffer as a monstrosity

>google it
i aint praying for you, you get to wear an eyepatch

The eyepatch literally doesn't help at all

but it looks dope

I wonder, if someone with this shit was skinned alive would he be covered in bone?
Would it be possible to make a natural bone armor by cutting someone's skin in the right places?

I recently played lost in vivo,
I would give it a shot
Pretty fucking spooky

If the doctors kill them, they become just like them. so no one is willing to

when you kill a person, you take all their powers.
the doctors dont want to have the powers of ultimate defense

>bone disease that spreads if you kill the infected or are in their proximity when they die
that'd be some fucking shit I tell you what

Attached: [visibly disturbed].jpg (405x544, 26K)

If you're a thalassophobe I feel like Barotrauma is probably some SPOOKY shit

only in a very select few countries where euthanasia / assisted suicide is legal

Why do you think it's called boner

Does he ever do any neat bone things aside from making them blades?

Then you get a boner.

>Chaser horrors
Yeah, that's what I love doing. Spending 10 minutes trying to solve a puzzle before a retard bursts into the room yelling like a retard and forcing me to run literal circles around the game for 15 minutes until I find a hiding spot or he fucks off, whereupon I can repeat this loop indefinitely, stretching out 2 hours worth of game into 12.

Pass.

i'm pretty jaded but lost in vivo spooked and impressed me a lot. it's very much like a first person silent hill 1 but has its own identity as well. it hit all my buttons. i'd say it's essential if you like first person horror

you get a black belt at edging

>Yeah, that's what I love doing. Spending 10 minutes trying to solve a puzzle before a retard bursts into the room yelling like a retard and forcing me to run literal circles around the game for 15 minutes until I find a hiding spot or he fucks off, whereupon I can repeat this loop indefinitely, stretching out 2 hours worth of game into 12.
This is only an issue if you suck at the game. kiting or avoiding the Janitors is piss easy

Yeah, by running around the school like a fucking retard, dumbass.

Why not skin the person and plate all there bones in titanium, titanium has the ability to bind to bone, so if you enclose the bone in something that it can't grow out of, wouldn't that stop it?

the problem is that the body starts to replace your muscles with bone tissue.
that means you cant move

>Yeah, by running around the school like a fucking retard, dumbass.
This is what I mean by sucking at the game. People are constantly complaining that the Janitors are always on their ass, and its specifically because they keep running and making a fuckton of noise. Anywho, there are a plenty of moments when you don't have enemies to worry about.

>babby tier
amnesia
>under da sea tier
soma
>space tier
alien isolation

Attached: 128650305871.jpg (750x686, 64K)

I was too big of a pussy to play FEAR so dead space was the scariest for me followed by bioshock

>and its specifically because they keep running and making a fuckton of noise.
No, it's because every 15 minutes, the Janitor is forcibly dropped in on you. Just like every other Chaser horror game. Even Clock Tower would pull the same bullshit of dropping enemies on you suddenly, and this is regardless of outside circumstances. I literally had the Janitor show up on me just 2 minutes after I ducked and hid into a room because after solving the puzzle, the game forces an encounter with you.

This is on top of the fact that most Chaser Horror games will have the enemy be "searching" for you close by always, meaning even if you aren't being chased, you have to get up, stop whatever the fuck you're doing, and make sure he can't spot you when he inevitably hones in and searches the room you're currently in for no reason out of thousands of other rooms he could look in.

This isn't a matter of "git gud", it's a matter of poor concept of game design.

>visited friend yesterday
>playing botw on switch
>he's sneaking a dungeon trying to save a desert woman
>keeps fucking up the stealth takedown prompts
>me having a giggle as a mgs veteran
>says he can't deal with the tension
>still looking forward to alien isolation
Hope I'll be around to watch him play that shit.

Can't your relatives fly you out to one of those countries or will the hospital hold you hostage for the rest of your unlife? Where are the political lobbies to solve this shit? This is clearly inhumane

I wonder, if someone did a muscle transplant across the whole body, would they change to bone or not? Being that they where from someone else maybe they won't get effected by it. Plate the bones, muscle transplant, then purposefully cut the skin across the whole body in triangle patterns to allow bending when they turn hard, or transplant. I know it sounds retarded, just throwing ideas out.

>No, it's because every 15 minutes, the Janitor is forcibly dropped in on you. Just like every other Chaser horror game
No he isn't. I'll use the first building as an example. He doesn't spawn in until after the fire alarm goes off and you have the hallway cutscene. From there he will be on a set patrol path through the first and second floor, only leaving this patrol path if he see's any door open, any light on, you specifically, or if he hears you sprinting. What is bullshit is that no matter where he is, the moment you start sprinting he will investigate that specific spot, even if you are separated by different floors. The only time he is forcibly dropped on you is after the hanging ghost cutscene. Once you activate the boss encounter for that floor, he WILL disappear. Whether or not he shows up afterwards only matters for completionists, since you have no other reason to go back. The Janitor works like this in every single building, with only select moments having them drop on you.

He isn't tethered to you like Alien Isolation because his AI is really fucking simple and the map size they spawn in is really fucking small.

>Hope I'll be around
...uh, user...

i assume it would be really difficult, not just to do the transplant, but also for the body to accept the foreign tissue.
i assume if the body accepted it, it would slowly convert it

....man.....

No, this post is pure imagination and horseshit. The Janitor doesn't act like this, and he absolutely is forced into an encounter with you several times. This is especially so towards the second building, where I had him drop in after solving the puzzle in the office with the wooden glyphs and also when I opened the room to I think the photography club. Both times lights were off. Everytime I would make sure to walk when I heard his jingling. If I saw his flashlight under these conditions, I would hide behind desks. He would still enter into perfectly dark, closed-door rooms with me. I don't know what fanciful version you played, but this was absolutely the case that he would stalk you.

>No, this post is pure imagination and horseshit.
>only talks about two occasions where he acts a certain way specifically because of an event
to that note, I should also specify he can see and will investigate any light sources you make also, even the piss poor matches. Either you aren't doing everything as well as you think you are, are being hyperbolic, your game was bugged, or more than likely you are just full of shit. Either way, nothing I said was wrong, that is exactly how he operates.

>Either you aren't doing everything as well as you think you are,
No, the simple fact of the matter is that I would go into complete shutdown mode whenever I heard a single jingle or a door opening, tiptoeing into a dark, closed room, making sure ALL light sources were off, and he would still choose to enter into them.

Now, I'll indulge you for a second; let's assume that he enters into the room because I didn't turn off the light source fast enough, or because I walked half a second into the crouch animation, and he managed to bullshit hone in on my position because of that, forcing me into a room where I would have to hide from him or be forced to enter the chase loop.

How the FUCK is that any different whatsoever than what I said about Chaser Horror bullshit of the enemy chasing your ass around every 10 minutes and forcing you to stop what the fuck you're doing? I'm sitting alone in the fucking dark in a game that refuses to look at shit while all lights are off while captain dingle berry is outside sniffing his ass in a limited corridor space. I'm still being FORCED by the game to not play the fucking game. And I have to do this a fucking SHITTON. What part of this is supposed to be scary, challenging, or fun, to have the fucking game stop and say "No you can't do the puzzle anymore, sit here and wait for literally nothing until he goes away and then pray that he ACTUALLY goes away and the music queues weren't fucked/lying to you"? Huh?

This, fucking top tier game, Lost in Vivo is also fantastic, can't recommend both enough.

Hornorable mentions include Amnesia TDD and Alien Isolation, if you haven't played any of the aforementioned vidya gtfo and go play them now.

Because if you just open every door and light on a particular floor that you know he will be on and go to a different one that you need to be at to explore, he'll be forced to investgate each one giving you ample time to to whatever you need to do in a given moment. This strategy will work through the entire game with the exception of the last portion of the New Building

>Because if you just open every door and light on a particular floor that you know he will be on and go to a different one that you need to be at to explore, he'll be forced to investgate each one
Sorry, I tried this during the second building when I started to get the idea that he might be responding to light and open doors. Didn't do shit, he still honed in on me, and I was definitely not sprinting by this point either because I was so fed up with him.

>Didn't do shit, he still honed in on me
Then I refer back to
>Either you aren't doing everything as well as you think you are, are being hyperbolic, your game was bugged, or more than likely you are just full of shit.

>I have no answer for why my made up bullshit didn't work, so you must be lying.
Whatever you say. Chaser Horrors are shit and are like this across the genre. Surely yours is the special exception and I must be the one doing it wrong despite doing all of the shit you said.

Attached: rlLUE.png (640x480, 353K)

Just checked the game out. The moment this wimp-ass chink sees jannie batting a motherfucker unconscious and dragging him to his rape room and doesn't turn around immediately to warn the chick and gtfo is the moment all immersion is lost. Fuck you two anons for bringing this game to my attention.

>People usually die crushed by their own skeleton
Whoa now

Don't quote me. I specifically said not to play it.

It's not about muscles or bone "Growing" it's about aberrant signaling in the BMP signal pathway in injury healing. Bascially your cells produce to much of a protein called BMP4 which tells a cell to turn into Bone instead of a muscle or fat or whatever cell. There are some ideas here and there to use targeted antibodies to inhibit this in patients who are known to suffer from FOP so they don't completly boneify.
>Mutations in the ACVR1 gene cause fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.

The ACVR1 gene provides instructions for producing a member of a protein family called bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) type I receptors. The ACVR1 protein is found in many tissues of the body including skeletal muscle and cartilage. It helps to control the growth and development of the bones and muscles, including the gradual replacement of cartilage by bone (ossification) that occurs in normal skeletal maturation from birth to young adulthood.

Researchers believe that a mutation in the ACVR1 gene may change the shape of the receptor under certain conditions and disrupt mechanisms that control the receptor's activity. As a result, the receptor may be constantly turned on (constitutive activation). Constitutive activation of the receptor causes overgrowth of bone and cartilage and fusion of joints, resulting in the signs and symptoms of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
