>post that genre you wanted to get into but you just couldn't
RTS, the micromanagement just stresses me out too much
Post that genre you wanted to get into but you just couldn't
fightan games, I'm too impatient to learn combos
Fightans, I love them all but I suck at all of them.
But what is reassuring is that some people suck harder than I do.
Yesterday I fought a Claudio main on T7 that had 456Wins but was still stuck in 2nd Dan.
How can people like that can keep their sanity?
When I'm on a losing streak I'm just want to eat my fucking controller. I just bought BlazeCrossTag and I know full well I'm going to get btfo buy the only try harders that still play this trash.
Shooters, I can't aim for shit
Isometric games.
I want to be able to enjoy them, but I just can't.
>Standing around reading shit.
>Moving characters around like chess pieces >Telling things to attack instead of actually attacking
I can't find any enjoyment in playing them.
grand strategy. fucking grand strategy. CK2, europa, stelaris, galactic civ, iron hearts, etc. you name it i've tried it and failed terribly. I have probably watched 20 hours of youtube videos on these games to try to get better but I always feel like I'm spinning my wheels and accomplishing nothing when I actually play myself. am I doomed to mediocrity bros? why is this so hard. I graduated with a CS degree and a 3.0 GPA.
I love that image
Sandbox genre, more notably games like Minecraft, Kenshi and Terraria etc.
They just lose me because its a lot of grinding and fucking about in an empty world, its not very fun and I could build a giant dickhouse but why would I want to?
It seems like a genre for autists and children
I just deactivate monsters and build comfy houses in minecraft, it passes the time quite well.
I want to enjoy crpgs but I'm too much of brainlet to play them
rts as well, games should be fun not tiring af.
>RTS, the micromanagement
YES
It's not even about stratagy, it's more like about rock, paper and scissors and fast clicking.
I've never played supreme commander, but that feels more like a real strategy game.
FPS
Everyone enjoy it. But I just can't into it.
I think it's because I hate K/M.
But even with controller it feels bad. The gyros make it better... but still.
I can never put fucking good team together and always suck at them
MOBAS, Dota 2 specifically, sunk 3k hours into it.
I want(ed) to play it at a high level because watching it is enjoyable, I would love to get into high rank games where everyone does their job, but I got stuck at 3.5k and now I'm at like 2.9k in a massive loss streak
the game is stressful, you start to hate everyone around you, it tilts you hard and carrying alone makes you play like an asshole. More than that, losing an almost won game feels like pure shit.
I have an IRL friend that's like top 1000 player and competes in semi-pro tournaments, so I want to get to his level, but holy shit the grind is unreal to get to high mmr.
I seriously don't know why it's addictive, but for my sanity I should stop playing
Combos in fighting games truly are the noob trap holy fuck, most characters in all fighting games have BnBs that are piss easy to perform and have multiple confirms so you can literally use the same combo for a lot of different situation without becoming too readable.
2.5k shitter here: kinda glad I stopped, but still don't really feel like I needed to. A lot of my friends got really worked up and mad about the game but I've always been able to keep it cool in comparison. I wasnt good, but man, I really did enjoy the depth and complexity of the game even at my level.
I currently got back into playing ranked again because of the new system and I find it more enjoyable. Currently at 3.5k ish, cant tell since they removed the numbers, but I feel like choosing your role made things better. Since the update in my games I feel like people work more as a team.
any rockstar game, theyre just too fucking long and killing ppl randomly got old by the second time, it doesnt help that i have ocd for trophies and shit
>grand strategy
>fighting
>most RPGs
Fighting games. My main issue is that I just don't have the right mental approach of getting better by the tiniest of degrees, inching bit by bit closer to "being less shitty", all while having my face stomped into the dirt. I just can't put up with it.
FPS. It's the only genre I can't play competently, I even play fighters and RTS games fine.
Bizarrely the moment it's third-person I can handle it.
grand strategy
and also games like dwarf fortress (not usual roguelikes though)
>FPS
I have 350 hours in R6S playing with friends and I typically average 0-1 kills per game while dying in nearly every round. It's miserable watching people who are actually good play it. I'd argue most of that playtime is alt-tabbed after I died within the first minute of the round. I'm OK on Overwatch (which isn't a great game so that's not saying much), but I wanted to play Widow, I played her a good number of hours, was always useless, and lose the game for my team playing her. Disheartening.
>4X
It gets to the point where it feels like I'm just picking random shit to build and hitting end turn. The massive time investment also makes it hard to just decide to play ES2 on a whim.
