You need more travel space with lower DPI and sensitivity. With an analog stick you get less than an inch of travel space, which makes high sensitivity a requirement.
With a mouse you can crank that shit down and buy a wide ass mouse pad. This makes your accuracy much better.
They tried doing PC vs console for couple of FPS games during the gen 7 era, and PC would stop the console players every time. So it was always a failed idea.

I thought this at first until I mapped sprinting/wallbouncing to my mouse. It's totally there, like anything else you have to get used to it.

It's the same argument as aiming with a stick versus aiming with a mouse. In Gears a lot of your "aim" is entirely based on body movement, not on your reticle movement. Since the Gnasher is so dominant in close range you have to learn how to wiggle and wallbounce to compete, something that's inherently awkward due to wallbouncing being a janky result of the slide into cover.

I'm wrong, they actually took their time and redid how controls work in wallbouncing with mouse and keyboard.

PC has the same opportunities as Xbox does even in wallbouncing. Tho apparently keyboard definitely takes a bit to get used to, but it has no disadvantage. Pretty cool and good on Coalition for not just dumb porting the game to PC.

A shotgun should kill in one hit in most cases, though. The downside is that it's like a slightly longer-range knife, you really need to get close, and out of cover. You just want to sit behind cover and pepper someone with 30 bullets, hit with 12 and still kill them, because you're a fucking pleb just like the guy in the webm. You can see this clearly when the COG guy dives forward - you see two hits connect during the dive forward animation but the hit marker doesn't get displayed.

The lancers can actually be more effective than the shotgun on the principle that covering a position while people butt bounce of the walls allows people in said defensive position to deal massive amounts of damage at mid range before anyone even comes at lethal distance with the gnasher.

Last shooter I played with any PVP in it was Siege, but that got ruined by the whole, "We want the Overwank audience" garbage where they dropped the fucking skill ceiling by adding people with "press X for gamesense" buttons, so I quit. PVP shooters have been fucking murdered. TF2 went to shit. Siege went to shit. CS has always been shit, and arena shooters are fucking dead. At least the tacticool people get Squad, which is neat. I've just been playing singleplayer stuff and Killing Floor.

Singleplayer is fun in all the games but online is just Gnashers and whatever that one double-barrel shotgun that one-shot you from a mile away added later on was called. in gears 2 all we found out is that the sires were human imulsion mutants, and by the end of 2 we knew that imulsion mutates everything it touches.
it wasn't until 5 that they introduced the secret secret lab and the locust connection. and nowehere in 3 or 4 was anything even remotely hinting to it
one could argue this was clear foreshadowing that the sires would evolve into locust, but that's still extremely uninteresting and takes all impact out of the story
