Is it normal for a church to have command of not one but two armies capable of launching an all out war against at least one of the major territories of Fodlan? It's troubling that only a handful of characters question Rhea's motives when she orders them to kill people without trials. Especially when some of them plead for mercy claiming they were only following orders so no, Rhea did do at least one thing wrong.

Why does Rhea cause so much butthurt? I legitimately dont understand the hate for her and I've done all the routes. I can see why you would dislike her if CF is the only route you played, but with GD context she is a really tragic character and I can't understand how you couldn't sympathise with her. All the objections I see ITT are either completely incorrect or based on incomplete information. She isn't punishing people at random that she deems to be heretics, we find out later that they were all slitherer agents/allies trying to undermine the peace in Fodland and trying to kill Rhea, Seteth and Flayn. The game baits you into thinking the Church is corrupt but that isnt the case at all, Rhea is literally protecting the peace.
As for the experiments, they are definitley questionable, but she allowed the failed experiments to live full lives and even have families, like Byleths mother. She isn't kidnapping people and doing frankenstein shit on them, its not sinister in nature at all. Rhea is deep down a really good hearted person who not only saved Jeralts life but also is the only reason that Byleth survived childbirth.
If you all actually played the game fully instead of just replaying your waifu route you might be able to be more honest.
