I spent a few club Nintendo points on the lowest amount of apples just so I'd get more bang from the tree harvests. The online mode really helps with leveling up and managing vigor. I didn't end up spending as many apples this time around as I did in the 3ds version.

I just want to list some complaints here real quick.

Normal kirby games don't have as much endlag on moves as this one does. Not to mention bosses are more damage spongey and most of the time you'll have shit gear. And even in normal kirby games bosses only seem easy because you're allowed to be hit plenty of times and still win. Level 53 beam mage using base Drawcia gear. I have 1,004 apples after buying all of the toughest quests that just showed up. About to clear the last one. Toughest Ice Sir Kibble or whatever. Is it time to upgrade my gear to level 13? Or should I wait to unlock 14 or 15. Hell should I just skip straight to a lower level DX set?

i had no idea about the insta death attacks. i beat him first try without any problems

The combo you'll use most is dash attack into upward slash into sword dive. Instead of going into the dive right away though, you can combo upslash into upslash infinitely until you need to reposition because the monster moved. Obviously this requires you to not be a shitter.The infinite upslashes are your best dps but you can also bounce off the boss using the wall and air chops. They require less timing than the upslash infinite but they're only possible near a wall and not every boss hangs by the wall for long. You can technically use hat thrust too but it's pretty hard to pull off in battle because of how strict the inputs are and can be dropped easily. If you do wanna use it, use it when the monster is frozen. And lastly keep holding up whenever there's downtime for the sky energy beam. It does a lot of damage for a move that charges so quick and it stays charged until you fire so you can unleash crazy dps if you fire it after your dive.

Well Aeon Knight (Light) has a move where he rips a hole in space and it fires a fuck huge beam that pretty much kills you. But you can avoid it easily unless you play hammer.

I like using the sword as a pogo stick :D

Yeah, it can be fairly demanding if you choose not to pay real money because you'll constantly have slightly underleveled gear so you'll have to make up for it with constant dps which is hard when after a certain point, most bosses can 3 shot you. The inputs are so horseshit on pro controller because of the dogshit dpad. It's possible but hard. Other moves do more dps anyway. It is fun though

I got tired of this game. I stopped after Landia. There's nowhere near the freedom or variety of normal Kirby boss combat. No throws, no reflectors, no combos. Just charge moves and i-frames, and sometimes optimizing damage when the boss isn't moving. And I'm really sick of the lag and body collision that come with multiplayer. It's the worst with Hammer. I have to optimize every spin, flip and jump through the lag and body collision. And if there's another Hammer I have to shove him out of the way just to attack! I can't even practice to get the spacing down.

Why do enemies not have health bars? Is it so I'll throw apples at them when we all die in the hope that we're close? I've done this zero times; someone else always pays. I've never experienced a loss online, and it's sucked the satisfaction out of winning.

That's pretty close. I'd be using hammer swing into hammer twirl to close distance and protect you once you're near the monster. And if you're using ultra giant swing to hit monsters up high, I'd combo into a hammer twirl to save your ass from any contact damage when they get closer to the ground and you. Other than that, I'd say you're doing fine. I haven't looked at the numbers thoroughly but I'm pretty sure ultra giant swing is higher dps than the two first charges if you hit the sweet spot and get all hits possible. It's harder to execute than a charge though. But unless you can land lvl 3 charges consistently, I'd just ultra giant swing constantly and use lvl 3 when they're frozen or downed

From what I understand, upgrading to the 2000 a day tree is overkill, but how many apples will I need by endgame? You can be like this guy, , getting only the Starlight SDX weapon because

You do eventually. Even the Starlight Headdress unupgraded gives your Starlight Rod SDX a +10% Attack bonus, and at SDX has Charge Speed +100 for +220 with the whole set (I forgot about DX's stats but it's probably +40 to rival most SDX armors.)

for me, i've been running literally just

>1 healer

it'd probably be more optimal to replace 1 or 2 hammers with a mage for timestops to occur so there's more opportunities for hammer flip (and also more mobility overall to pickup team meteor shards/rare fragments/revive teammates easier)
i've been breezing through relatively easy with 3 hammers+1 healer though (up to level 41 now) and i don't feel like gearing another class

Star Allies was 90% too-easy filler, 10% decent Heroes in Another Dimension, and 10% high-quality Soul Melter.

It is not worth 20 bucks, let alone the price it's sold for. And Kirby Clash is a simpler version that can't be beaten solo.

I don't know how you'd play with 3 hammers, they'd have to shove each other out of the way to get close enough to attack.
