Old PC games - EuroGunZ

EuroGunZ (GunZ The Duel)

One of the best TPS I've ever played, I've been playing this in the last 10 years and this game never gets old. It's amazing all the different things you can do and the different game modes you can play. This game really needs more recognition.

Gunz is still alive, even after the shitty sequel?

It's not that it doesn't have recognition, it's that everyone did everything you can do on it two decades ago through igunz, then ijjigunz.

there's no reason to ever boot it up again, nothing new has been put into it since 2006 or 2007 when ijjigunz shut down. A couple new quests which ended up getting removed down the line because they had no new item rewards. It was pointless. Just give up user, and stop shilling your shit pserver.

why are they constantly switching weapon

switching weapon cancelled animation on things like reload and recoil, so if you rapidly flicked between your shotguns you could fire at a rate comparable to a rifle. It also allowed you to swing your sword faster, which would hold momentum on the ground (and in the air) without input, allowing you to float and skip across the map at a rapid pace, also known as butterflying.

wouldn't that overly centralize the meta around the weapons with the most damage per hit

Automatic weapons were near useless yeah, basically only shotguns, revolvers and rockets saw any usage.

Yes, and it did. gunz was entirely based around use of an 'exploits' called k-style, a user named korea found a lot of the bugs that started it, others found optimization. But basically the endgame fights are just everyone running around with a sword slashing wildly to reach a 100% radius around them, and flicking shotgun shots.

I loved GunZ, shame it died

Really fun until you get to a certain level where you have to play with 300 ping k-style brazilians

>"old"
Okay kid...

I fucking wrecked people in GunZ WITHOUT using exploits or glitches and ended up getting vote kicked out of every match. Fuck that shithole community.

i was more of a S4 league guy
skill cap wasn't as high as gunz but weapons were pretty much balanced
walljumping and touchdown was the shit

shame these games could've been esport tier, but were too ahead of the curve

The virgin K-styler
The chad sprayer

that shit only worked at bare minimum skill levels. After a certain point (namely when you're doing tbfs and also guarding between shots to block all spray) you literally can't beat a kstyler unless you're landing flips or lunges with a dagger doing e-style, OR doing kstyle yourself.

anybody remembers that one snowboarding game?

project powder?

>dude I entered DM matches and got high k/d ratios lmao
You're a shitter.

YES OH GOD YES! Man I miss that one

you missed the renaissance. It was also called snowbound online under gamigo later on, but ultimately it shut down. A couple years back there was a pserver, it ran for about a year and a half before the team behind it gave up.

yeah I looked it up last year and when I found it it literally shut down a day ago. GunZ and PP were the best.

GunZ was great. My next door neighbor taught me K-style after school for a week until I got it. Then we would hop on FlyFF after I had to go home. FlyFF still has one of my favorite soundtracks.

I played gunz for a little while, but I got tired of getting rekt by speedhackers and quit. Does anyone play it these days?

the official servers (with the exception of the recently re-opened KR ones under masangsoft who is comprised of like 85% maiet staff) are all closed, people play on a couple pservers, but they're all pretty mediocre.

Wrong, you could easily take down those sucker with explosives or machine guns because they couldn't aim for shit and were so concentrated on their exploits that they couldn't adapt.
Of course if you killed one of those retards like that you'd get B& forever and hunted across the entire game

t. never participated in clan wars where good players were

I fucking loved Gunz. If you were a technically proficient player, you could literally clear a room on your own like fucking Goku taking out the Ginyu force. That game was amazing and also inspired me to quit playing videogames for a year because there was no way you were competitive in that community without destorying your fucking hands along the way.

Why doesn't this game get a graphical update(but leaves the gameplay the same) if it still has an audience? Like csgo

The owner of the IP in korea (netmarble) ended their support for all of their PC based games (Which was a pretty large library, including Uncharted waters online, SD gundam capsule fighter online, mini fighter, grand chase [not elsword, that's nexon], gunz, and a few more) and basically just sold them off to whoever, the group that bought them back, masangsoft was basically the remnants of maiet after gunz2 failed so miserably that they went bankrupt. They originally claimed to have plans to bring all their games (gunz1/2, raiderz) back to a global market, but it never happened. They're still collecting dying/dead IPs and keeping them online, usually not updating them at all, so I can't say how profitable it is, but they run the KR and jap servers of all the maiet games, skid rush/drift city, gunster rain of bullets, and golf king (RIP pangya). Obviously there's some money being made if they're still up, and they're still collecting titles to add to their farm.

Oh I see
