It's the only GoW game that I've played so I am not sure if it was intentional or not but the Nordic lore was completely messed up and all over the place, so much so that really the only parts they've got right are the names and even then Frigg =/= Freya.

Valkyries were the only cool battles though.

I personally consider Splinter Cell Chaos Theory to be a perfect game. Not THE perfect game, but close.
It excels at everything it sets out to do.
Gameplay? The best Stealth that has ever been
Graphics? Excellent for their time and still hold up today, extra props to lighting.
Story? Classic Clancy conspiracy with twists and tension.
Music? Pure sex.
Multiplayer? Immensely fun and utterly unique, still to this day hasn't been duplicated.

It's the apex of the genre and will likely never be toppled.

But it is a damn good one, I finally got around to playing the rest of it. I put it down initially at the first trek to the mountain. Really picks up gameplay wise once you unlock the blades of chaos.

They never tried to be that accurate to the mythology. The original trilogy's greek mythology is also pretty flawed, though maybe not as much as the Norse. It's clearly about entertainment first, historical accuracy second.
