FFVi has entire status effects and character stats that don’t even work, and the main gameplay mechanic (Espere) isn’t even introducted until halfway through the game, and the game even punishes you for leveling up before that point.
FFVI is a disaster, there is no other word to describe it.

Fixed in later versions and most bugs aren't that noticeable or important. Vanish+Doom is the biggest issue in my opinion, but most people probably won't find the combo on their own first time anyway.
Blind is based on the evade stat which doesn't work (magic evade is used for all calculations), so the status effect just gives you cool sunglasses without affecting your accuracy.

Espers are introduced earlier than that, Zozo is like 1/3rd through at most.
