Gurren Lagann reference? Squeenix confirmed bros
Imagine playing Xenogears for the first time
Imagine getting to disc 2 for the first time
>"Why is the text so slow?"
>"Lucca, please shut up."
>"Why do I have to go up a wolf-infested mountain just to get a damn camera?"
The ads had soul because the games had soul
Based
Square Enix was a mistake. Imagine a world where Squaresoft exists today passionately making AA games with charm and fun gameplay.
i only got around to playing it not too long ago and i absolutely loved the story, but i'd be pissed if i bought it when it was new and the second disc wasn't even a game.
>animé
was this a thing back then? or did they get that from pokèmon
>why is this purple haired girl naked?
Lucca is from Chrono Trigger you pleb. And they needed the camera for Alice and Timothy's wedding.
Square was going downhill at the time even before there merger with enix.
>he doesn't know Lucca is in Lahan
>why is there a random encounter every 5 steps?
>why are there like 5 poorly dubbed anime cutscenes?
>why am I building a multi-combo hit over several turns?
>why is spamming the latest one deathblow the only reasonable way of winning every fight?
>why are there platforming segments and why am I getting a random encounter mid-jump?
>what's going on with all the time skips in disc 2?
>why did real life earth manufacture a super weapon that seeds an entirely new human race over the course of thousands of years on a different, earth-like planet?
>why am I keeping track of a character's weight when I go eat out at a restaurant?
>who the hell is this elvis guy?
>why am I making this 12 year old girl punch that giant desert robot on foot and how the fuck did we just win that?
>why do I get this weirdest boner when my characters get eaten by that purple alien plant thing?
>boy these cutscenes sure are long
>remember when we fought that T-rex in the forest?
>I wish I had a true love that reincarnated with me through the ages
>I just realized that Graaf's mask did not actually have a mouth
>they're never going to properly remake this game, are they
lmao i forgot all about the weight thing
She's in the house where you can read/listen to tutorials, I know.
I played it when it was new, and I thought disc 2 was really cool. I vaguely knew that there were problems with the development, and I thought turning it into minimalist theater was a great way to fill in what they didn't have time for.
>why did real life earth manufacture a super weapon that seeds an entirely new human race over the course of thousands of years on a different, earth-like planet?
Because in canon non-Xenosaga asspull timeline of Xenogears the Immigrant Fleet, the Zohar emulators, and the Gnosis were still a huge fucking problem. They designed a superintelligent AI to help them deal with it. Naturally, being an Eva ripoff, this backfires.
>why am I making this 12 year old girl punch that giant desert robot on foot and how the fuck did we just win that?
zohar chi
I loved the "double subversion," though, that you think the villain is God (it's named Deus after all), but then Deus is only a pretender and the actual God is fine.
Xenogears is overrated trash and we dodged a bullet considering it almost became FFVII originally
>Because in canon non-Xenosaga asspull timeline of Xenogears the Immigrant Fleet, the Zohar emulators, and the Gnosis were still a huge fucking problem.
I wonder if they are still around during the events of Gears
Thought I had some game ads saved, but apparently not. I'll post this for now.
Fuck you
It was a thing to keep people from saying anniemay
Shit was pretty fucked according to Perfect Works. Earth left a skeleton crew to defend against the onslaught and put Deus on their biggest ship (the colony ship) in lockdown as secret cargo, hoping it wouldn't get discovered.
So of course Deus breaks containment and is pissed its creators abandoned it. Tries to warp the ship back and Skynet the fuck out of Earth.
Xenogears happened because they forefitted the ship trying to destroy Deus. The entirety of the planet's history is Deus in repair mode, emulating the technologies of the Immigrant fleet and the Gnosis to get back on track.
I mean is there even an Earth to return to by the time Xenogears happens?
Damn I love Xenogears. Reading this brings back some good memories. I remember rumors about the weight gain/loss thing affecting stats, but pretty sure it actually does nothing. I loved jumping on people's heads, makes up for some awkward platforming segments. Wish more RPGs included jumping like that. Mario RPG is the first that comes to mind.
Different user, and it's been forever since I read (the fan translated) Perfect Works, but--I think Earth was lost a long time ago, but there was another planet that had been colonized and was the human capital. The main reason I don't quite trust my memories here is, I don't know what I'm mixing with Xenosaga.
Not him but I think you're right, I think Earth is referred to as Lost Jerusalem in both Xenogears Perfect Works and Xenosaga
Will Takahashi ever make a serious game again after the Saga drama?
Earth is Lost Jerusalem. We don't know much about it from PW or XS. Most people think it's fucked, but at least in XS3, we get a hint it's still there from the very ending.
>but there was another planet that had been colonized and was the human capital
Neo Jerusalem. Plays no major part in either series.
Isn't Earth merged with that giant spaceship at its center? I remember some XS cutscene showing it
I'll never accept that the humans who created Deus didn't try to find it at some point during those 10,000 years.
Maybe there was no one left doing the finding
I also can't fathom why Deus would voluntarily use a species capable of independent thought to resurrect itself rather than create some new hive mind species that was incapable of resisting and/or rebelling against it. That's what the Overmind in Childhood's End did.
Unfortunately no. Xenoblade's acclaim has tied him down into pandering to the lowest denominator.
You can see glimpses of old Takahashi in bits of X and 2 but Xeno's an empty shell of what it used to be.
Takahashi DID say recently that he wants to develop a Rated M game with sex and violence though.
>That Simpsons yellow
Earth became inaccessible for an unknown reason in the XG universe, my theory is that originally Xenoblade 1 was going to explain the reason behind that before they removed the mention of the Zohar, this is mentioned in an Iwata asks (source: iwataasks.nintendo.com
>One case in point is the game's ending. Initially, we'd come up with what we felt was an ending with a rather explanatory feel. But in fact, she told us that even with this explanation, she couldn't really understand it. When she pointed this out to me, I could see what she meant. There were things that seemed perfectly clear to us, but which were actually tricky to understand for players who didn't have previous knowledge. If you're referencing things that people know nothing about, it's really a meaningless exercise, isn't it?
>tricky to understand for players who didn't have previous knowledge. If you're referencing things that people know nothing about, it's really a meaningless exercise, isn't it?
What previous knowledge? Xenoblade 1 was supposed to be self contained and supposed to be called "Monado: beginning of the world". My idea is that with Monado they were planning on explaining why Earth had been lost in the XG universe or even why the planet were they were doing Zohar experiments was mysteriously destroyed leaving nothing other than the Zohar floating in space. I'm sure Takahashi was planning on reviving Perfect Works with Nintendo but Yurie Hattori ended up preventing that, if this hadn't happened I'm sure the Xenogears bandwagonners wouldn't have complained about Xenoblade when it came out because "it wasn't Xeno"
He basically did, but the Wave Existence/Zohar intervened. There's a reason that he's ultimately defeated by Fei, and a guy who'd been heavily influenced by Sophia.
No, the core was composed of Zohar and Deus. They were on a mission to rescue survivors from the planet Deus fucked up in a weapons test. They had settlers on board to disguise the covert op of removing Deus from the system as a colony and rescue mission.
Abel fucked everything up when he ran off and triggers Deus to break out.
It's funny when you realize Xenogears didn't have a happy ending at all. Yeah Fei and Elly were reunited but the entire world has been destroyed and all but a couple hundred humans are dead.
I miss when gaming wasn't ashamed of itself.
No Earth is still where it's supposed to be, Wilhelm had shrinked it to Planck length to prevent its destruction in 20XX
It's a huge loving time in a race to repopulate the world - you can't get more happy than this.
didn't they cure some of them with nanomachines, son?
>ads
>soul
If you're a brainless consumer, sure.
Soul is everything that makes warm feelings come back, nostalgia is one of those
The Wave Existence intervened by making the Antitype a countermeasure. It did nothing regarding most of humanity on Gears' world.
Not from being dead.
Yeah, I was only responding to why Deus didn't make humanity subservient. It did, but the Wave Existence created a couple that weren't under its thumb, and who ultimately led to its downfall.

>be 10yo me
>buy Xenogears thinking its just another jrpg with cool robots
>tfw watching that anime clip of MC disintegrating his village and waifu
I remember that was the point where I knew I was in for the best ride.
Think it was also what made me relentlessly play jrpgs for the story, but needless to say no other story ever made the same impression on me.
Holy crap... every game they list is 9/10. Those were the days.
late 90s Squaresoft was on fire. They had like 40 games out in that time.
Eh, more like 7/10.
90s 7/10 is like a 13/10 today
I would not consider something like Threads of Fate or Musashi anything close to a 13/10.
The new Link's Awakening ad has soul
youtube.com
>retards actually saw his face like that
Wow, how fucking stupid you gotta be?
Even with PS1 resolution in a fucking CRT I could tell what his face was like.
TOF was goat.
I actually am doing that on twitch right now. Just got past calamity. Didn't like that it was purchase upgrades or you won't beat it, but whatever.
My favorite part so far has been when the old guy was like "GOD CREATED MAN AND MAN FOUGHT GOD AND GOD MADE MAN 2.0 AND FELL INTO THE OCEAN" or something, complete with a chorus backing and everything, and then immediately after Fei is like "uh , hey, how do we leave?"
Now I'll leave this thread to avoid spoilers.
Threads of Fate was shallow as fuck, dude. I played it a few months ago. It's got nothing of value for a game release in '99.
i know this soul shit get memed on but maybe a well spoken user can help me out to formulate the thougths of an retard like me:
Most older anime and games i played/watched (emphasis on most i played, not that all are like that or that i played/watched) are more appealing to me becausue of 2 reasons:
1. Im sure there is correct technical term for this but the shading/lighting and the outline of the characters make them more somberand more blend in and also more human like. In Most modern anime and anime games the art style is either very moe or the characters are bright/glossy.
2. While this is obviously a zeitgeist thing but fan service (being it actualyy boobies or fan pandering in literal scence with refrences at stuff) got more shoved in in the front. Like i grew up while watching ranma, with full frontal naked anime tiddies. I have no problem with that. However it was like a set piece and the stuff never over endulged in it. Nowadays when in somethiing like XC2 or Fire emblem Fates its like the whole plot and story stops to draw attentiion to this character having revealing clothes big tiddies and is lewd.
This is my personal take on soul and old good new bad. Im open for recommendations.
I will never understand the retards who can misinterpret shit so badly. Even more than that I can't understand how they feel the need to go online and brag about it. They show him in anime mode almost immediately.
prove that a publisher in the neck crunching you makes the greatest art because after that they got more freedom with saga and that was pure shit
>Mario game pretending to be FF7
aww the days when nintendo knew thier place... second best.
>why am I getting a random encounter mid-jump?
Literally can't happen.
>why am I making this 12 year old girl punch that giant desert robot on foot and how the fuck did we just win that?
Not technically possible without massive luck or grinding.
>who the hell is this elvis guy?
Read the files and explore.
>what's going on with all the time skips in disc 2?
The game is famously unfinished.
Imagine how much that hack Takahashi must hate Final Fantasy VII
>Xenogears was originally going to be FFVII until the bosses told him the plot was too dark and sci-fi to be a FF title
>The actual FFVII is a grand success and becomes the most sold JRPG in history, blowing the fuck out of his shitty evangelion ripoff
>Tries to make an epic episodic storyline consisting of multiple episodes with Xenosaga, but it's a total flop and has to end it prematurely
>The FFVII Remake is going to be just that and it's shaping up to be a total success
And nowadays he's stuck making bargain bin Neptuniablade shit kept on life support by Nintendo
>on twitch
Are you actually streaming it?
If so then respect. I hope you are not expecting views cuz I'm pretty sure jrpg is the probably the most unpopular type of game to stream. And a obscure old jrpg like Xenogeas at that.
I kinda wanna do it myself but honestly streaming for no one I might as well not stream at all.
meanwhile kojima got away with making MGS2 as the big AAA title of its time that people were lining up for.
No matter what you think about koji, that was a damn masterpiece. Imagine something like that ever happening again, especially in the current times
Nintendo is first best at everything.
>SaGa
>Einhander
>9/10
Nigger what. Even Musashi is like a 7.5 at best.
I don't have to imagine, I can remember playing it 4 years ago.
>HOly shit this difficulty spike is crazy!
>oh I can upgrade my gears right now? never mind
>how the fuck does exp for new deathblows work?
>maybe I should look it up
>this makes zero sense how the fuck does this all work?
>fuck it I'll just stick with pressing random inputs until I learn new deathblows
>man this game is so fucking wordy
>fuck I spaced out, how many textboxes did I just skip? oh well
>wow disc 2 is fucking awful, this game is in desperate need of a remake
>well that was fun, but what the fuck does episode V mean? I thought this was the first game?
>whatever, I was lost on like half of the story anyways, I don't really care.
I invite my friends to watch whenever I stream Wild Arms.
I still have the opportunity to play it for the first time. I probably won't ever play it though.
Neptuniablade is zoomer kino while FF7 is millennial cuck garbage
The Xenoblade series has been a huge success no matter how you try to spin it. Also, he IS making an episodic storyline. Xenoblade 2 ties into Xenoblade 1, and Xenoblade X is its own thing but definitely not finished story-wise.
It's definitely a game that requires a replay or reading extra material to understand.
Also, the whole reincarnation thing combined with Miang should be a pretty big clue that this isn't episode 1 of the story.
SaGa is very flawed, but it's one of my favorite RPGs to this day. I think it's worthy of a 9 at least, but back in the I remember it getting some mixed reviews (lots of 7s).
Einhander was cool, never finished it though.
>XC2 is zoomer kino
most accurate description i ever read of xc2
Very flawed might be overstating it. It feels very unfinished in parts, but the core game is great I'd say.
The battle system was pretty trash. And the story took way too long to get going. Even by late-90s JRPG standards.
>stunning anime
NONONONO BROS IT CANT BE, XENO WAS NEVER ANIME SHULK WAS THE REAL XENOBLADE!!
I've tried multiple Saga games before and all of them have had the same flaws to me. They drop you into this huge world, that's not really connected since you travel from different ares to the next through a menu, with absolutely no objective in mind. And that'd be fine if there was plenty of content to find, but most of the time I wander around town looking for an event or quest or SOMETHING to happen and there's just nothing.
xeno was always anime
what retards like you need to accept and understand is there is a varying degree of anime
Just because enjoys Eva doesnt mean he likes Monster Musume just because its also an anime.
You are dim so im gonna clue you in that eva is gears in this case and monster musume is xc2
>I just realized that Graaf's mask did not actually have a mouth
What the fuck? I had always thought there was a mouth there. Never saw a nose in that though.
Come on, it totally looks like a mouth, and in that anime cutscene you can't see all the way down the mask.
*someone enjoys
>story took way too long to get going
Did you play Frontier 2? SaGa Frontier 1 is the one that has 7 characters with their own short stories, so it's usually pretty quick about it. Though there's never really much heavy story or dialogue, and a lot of it is in the background.
>Come on, it totally looks like a mouth
You need glasses.
Farthest I have is cover dude in a coma dropped off @ the church. Should go back to it soon but idk where to go.
What would you say is the main theme of Xenogears?
>2 flops and decentish sales for XB2 after Nintendo shilling it in 3 different nintendo directs
What a huge success
Nah, my eyes are fine. The sprite on the portrait, combined with playing on a CRT made it really look like a mouth, even in that crusty image, I still can't help but see a mouth, it just seems so weird that its not a mouth. Its as easy to misview as Agahnim from Zelda ALttP, who could easily be viewed as a guy with green hair covering his eyes and a gaping O mouth.

unironicly love because thats why the game was made in the first place
There is none.
It's a mish-mash of surface level psychanalysis, gnosticism and SF-tropes. It's quite impressive as a cohesive ensemble but there's nothing deep once you read proper philosophy.
>Religion is bad but it's okay if we pray to some nebulous thing
I think that's the worst, trying to be profound by criticising religion only to spout platitudes.
I still love the game though. It's a good story
is that adult tenchi?
>didn't buy new engines because wanted to save money
>got btfo by Calamity
Sad!
Goddamn, those were the fucking days.
PS1 will always be the best console.
5:35-5:50
Source of the director saying that
If he has any true passion for making video games he can take solace in knowing that he created works lauded and adored by people in the know. It's like telling Nico she could've made more money if she had just made more conventional music.
Can you imagine being Nintendo at that moment? Holy fuck.
I can. They had ridiculously good software sales in North America and were making tons of money regardless of the PS1's success. Also, the best N64 games beat the fuck out of any PS1 Squaresoft games.
They had Ocarina of Time.
But did they have anything good?
>when a cutscene is so long the character has to sit down and rest
Goldeneye
And lots of good 4 player games
N64 was the best multiplayer console back then.
>the best N64 games beat the fuck out of any PS1 Squaresoft games
No way, Final Fantasy VII, and IX were way better than anything on N64. N64 was really lackluster. I can't believe I called it my favorite system at one point.
I said good, not 11 fps jank. Also no good fighters means no good multiplayer.
Smash Bros.
>No way, Final Fantasy VII, and IX were way better than anything on N64.
Like hell they were. Super Mario 64 and OoT had way better gameplay than either of those and were way more influential when it came to 3D mechanics and game design for future generations. FF7 was just an expensive vanity project that flaunted pre-rendered CGI more so than it made any real leaps for the JRPG genre. FF9 was okay but was ultimately just more of the same.
I AM
THE ALPHA
Not a fighter, also not good. Please we can only get by playing Mario Party so many times, we're dying here. We need something that isn't a shitty racer like mario kart either, maybe something with actual speed like CTR.
BOW TO MY COCK
Holy crap, you have something wrong in your fucking head.
>FF7 was just an expensive vanity project that flaunted pre-rendered CGI more so than it made any real leaps for the JRPG genre
FFVII started the trend of the "story" being more important than the gameplay in JRPGs
I don't think it was for the best but it was influencial.
CTR didn't have Block Fort.
It had better arenas and tracks instead
Alright, Crash Team Racing was great. But what other good multiplayer games did PSX have? Preferably with 4 players.
This is one I liked
youtube.com
I seriously don't get the disk 2 hate it's not like people play turn based rpg for the gameplay when the story is peak kino and the main appeal
Mario 64 wasn't that great, honestly the only good collectathon game that exists is Ape Escape, everything else is just really boring.
Ocarina of Time was good, but not great. Its like a 7/10 at best.
Also FFVII put JRPGs on the map in the west, the genre exploded in popularity after that game, which is why the PS1 became a JRPG machine (which is a good thing)
>jrpgs had soulful ads
>they still flopped hard in the us until FFVII
Mario 64 was mind-blowing when it came out. Still fun too. Same with Ocarina. I got both consoles as a kid though (Got N64 first, then bought a PSX for FFVII), so I love them both.
Hackahashi is the biggest hack in the industry. Kinogears and Xenosaga are only good because of his wife. Everything he made after is complete moeshit.
I loved OoT when I was a kid, but I was also gullible and just went along with the meme of it being the best game of all time because people said so.
After playing through it again when the 3DS remake came out, and again when a friend challenged me to a casual race to see who could beat it faster. I realized that it wasn't anything really great, its just a solid, good game.
I didn't play through FFVII and IX until some years later, and they left much bigger impressions on me, but also RPG is my favorite genre.
team buddies, pop'n'tanks (the best vehicle combat game ever), rakugaki showtime, blast chamber, any twisted metal
At least he now makes GAMES instead of failed animes/visual novels
Yeah. People don't like to talk about how tedious OoT is at times, how unengaging combat is, how easy the game is. People like the memory of OoT more than the actual game.
Thanks for the recommendations, some games I actually hadn't heard of. I've been burning playstation games since I got a modded one, so I'm trying to find new stuff.
Looks cool.
youtube.com
Every game after Xenosaga and Chronicles as been devoid of soul and pandered to the lowest demographic possible.
Pop'n'tanks is pure, high energy fun. You'll love it I'm sure. Really catchy music too. This was the game play clip I saw (from that video you linked no less) a long time ago that sold me on the game play. It's too high energy to not catch my attention.

Have fun with your PS1. Check out the Cotton games.
What the hell went wrong with RPGs between PS1 era and PS3's?
kek
>I seriously don't get the disk 2 hate it's not like people play turn based rpg for the gameplay when the story is peak kino and the main appeal
How can the story be the main appeal for JRPGs when most JRPG stories aren't very good?
OoT's are all the result of age and newer games taking concepts it established and tweaking them either by design or by virtue of improved hardware and/or controls.
My theory is voice acting and higher production costs is part of it. With voice acting in every scene, some awkward dialogue that you'd gloss over before is now given more emphasis and makes things take longer.
I was thinking the same. Ignore the faggots baiting for (You)s
>How can the story be the main appeal for JRPGs when most JRPG stories aren't very good?
JRPGS used to be the only games with full blown stories and they still think they're worth playing for this even thought they've been btfo since the PS2 era
The stories in these games are good though.
>JRPGS used to be the only games with full blown stories and they still think they're worth playing for this even thought they've been btfo since the PS2 era
Imagine actually believing this. There are adventure games that literally older than the first Dragon Quest.
Western ones just aren't very interesting. The Last Armageddon has a more captivating story than any Western game.
On consoles though you'd usually go to RPGs if you wanted a game with a heavier story emphasis.
Moving goal posts is ill-becoming of you, folks.
It doesn't change the fact that they suck, however.
I should have precised "on console"
PCfags are in another world.
Moving goal posts is the stupidest complaint. Somebody clarifying or adjusting their statement to make it more precise isn't always a bad thing.
PC gamers are indeed delusional, yes.
When you make a ridiculous claim like "JRPGS used to be the only games with full blown stories" and then start backpedaling, you've moved the goal posts to try and make yourself and your statement seem less stupid.
Then you either haven't played any games with good stories or your idea of a good story sucks.
I'm not even the same guy that posted that. You made a good point about adventure games, so I was stating that his take on RPGs was true in a narrower sense.
>Then you either haven't played any games with good stories
I have, such as The Last Armageddon. Are you going to list interactive novels with me as if they are well written?
>When you make a ridiculous claim like "JRPGS used to be the only games with full blown stories
That was me. And I was talking about console games. You guys live in another world I told you. You had interractive games like Monkey island for a long time but something like FFVI or FFVII was a revolution
- Higher productions cost
- Refusal to make a full-sized world map (due to cost) but also refusal to make a scaled world map like PS1 games did
- Belief that turn-based games don't sell anymore, therefore every game must have some gimmick battle system, or be an action-RPG hybrid that's neither as good as a normal RPG or a normal action game would be
- Too many RPGs being iteratives of older RPGs or anime
But you're TECHNICALLY wrong so that means I am superior to you. That's right, they don't call us the MASTER RACE for nothing.
based
jesus christ go fuck yourself
>You had interractive games like Monkey island for a long time but something like FFVI or FFVII was a revolution
Adventure games were around on consoles, too. As were games from other genres with stories and characters. Famicom Detective Club came out in 1988, for example. Clock Tower came out in 1995. Et cetera, et cetera. See, I too can peddle obscure examples that are hard to argue against like the douchebag in this post.
You are the most well ackshuyally poster on this fucking board holy shit
Yeah, but they weren't as big as on PC obviously.
>You are the most well ackshuyally poster on this fucking board holy shit
Better that than an idiot who claims that JRPGs were the only games with full blown stories, even on consoles.
That's irrelevant to the point.
>Better that
No, you're cancer to discussion you faggot
What did you say about Einhander you fucking retarded nigger?
>oh boohoo I can't in my little 90s Squaresoft nostalgia hugbox I'm so sad.
Now that's some fine projection
Not them but the issue with adventure games is like 90% of the time its story is We need to find these 4 items to combine in some ridiculous way to solve some puzzle so you can go to a location to find another 3 items to combine in a ridiculous way to... etcetc
Don't say that too loud we have a PC retard in our presence.
I won't lie, I played on the PSN release for the first time back in.. 2011?
Took me a while but I grew to love it.
JRPGs based their scenarios on fetch quests and McGuffin hunts a lot as well. 90s Squaresoft games are no exception. But regardless, adventure still had full stories long before JRPGs made them a staple of their appeal (or at least the popular ones did).
>JRPGs based their scenarios on fetch quests and McGuffin hunts a lot as well.
Usually they weren't combining objects you find around the place in a silly manner. You'd usually be finding relics or crystals or artifacts, etc. DEEP and MEANINGFUL
I'm pissed Big Joe didn't join you in the end.
wasn't there a hidden lore that Big Joe is actually a real human from the Eldridge and not humans born from Deus?
Not quite. He was a star in the Zeboim era. He had Kim cryogenically freeze him and he stayed froze for 4000 years until the Ethos dug him up. They threw him into the ocean and he washed up onto Billy's orphanage where they freed him and he then swam to Ignas.
As modern developments have shown, kojima was never the brains of metal gear. On his own, he's a hack.
He was a celebrity and sports hero from the Zeboim era (which was like modern Earth, but they were having problems reproducing and with short lifespans) that froze himself trying to preserve his life.
Nonsense, there's no reason to believe Kojima wasn't a significant factor in making the old Metal Gear games great, both story and gameplay-wise. Obviously the teams were great too and made a big difference, but this trend of saying Kojima was always a hack because of recent games is silly.
The irony that Fei says that humans doesnt need God when Elly was literally created by the Wave existence and even gave him Xenogears and endless power is arrogant as fuck.
He was immortal as well so how the fuck does he go about speaking on humanities behalf.
>he finish making 3, that's three, number 3 blade games before SE even finish FF15
