Whatcha playing Yea Forums?
BIG ROBOT THREAD
bump
WHAT ELSE?! MECHA IS BACK ON THE MENU!
DAEMON x MACHINA right now
Hoping to play sometime with Yea Forums later on
Got my eye on MASS Builder too
Seems like a potentially good alternative to the Gundam Breaker series
MS Saga. I swapped out the R-Jarja arm for a Drill Arm L, now I have Tremmie's Mel to 315. Tried getting a second Samurai Blade, can't get one to drop. Can't get anymore Rod Type Beam Rifles to drop either.
cant remember why i stopped playing ms saga, it was fun. i was a bit past where you get the air ship, must be over 30hrs in.
Just finished AC Nexus and now waiting for LR to arrive.
DxM looks alright but pretty shallow compared to AC, not to mention the grind shit
that looks cool.
MASS Builder is worth trying the demo for
It's got this very in depth customisation but the gameplay is really shallow
can you play this on PS3?
Nothing at the moment but waiting for Cross Rays
anyone try Carnage Heart? not familiar with the series at all, I know it's about programming behaviors into your mechs with optional conditions for manual control
Might try EXA on PSP one of these days
Also what's the best order and best versions of Front Mission to play?
tried looking real quick and didn't see anything about it. it emulates fine if thats an option
Seriously where the FUCK is it
>2019
IT'S ALMOST 2020
I'm gonna make a squad with nothing but maxed out Leos. See if they can all survive.
I played the demo of MASS Builder today.
This because I bought it a few days ago.
>tfw bandai namco will kill exvs in your lifetime
i remember there being a special jap version that had extra missions or something but i was to lazy to burn it and try it
>try out the demo
>spend so long customising a mech that I forget there's a video game attached to this robo-wardrobe
>game has zero impact and feels like a mobile game
god damn it
I'm gonna pay for it in hope that it will get off the ground and be improved.
Any virtual-on bros here? I wish sega would release a normal entry but that baffling crossover game probably killed the series for good.
Definitely wait a year or so, right now it's only good feature is the robo making which you can do in the demo
i used to play it a lot when arcades were a thing. i have the dreamcast one somewhere but i remember the controls being clunky
I wanted to be a virtual on bro but you need a saturn and some special twin joystick
Thinking about trying to emulate Zeonic Front again, because after an hour of Crossfire I'm willing to try anything
why did you not like the Index Virtual On?
Fuck at least you guys get something, meanwhile Virtua Fighter only gets acknowledgement from other fighting game devs. Even the English shitposting FGC is trying to rewrite history so that VF was never relevant. It fucking hurts.
Pretty much all I’ve played for the last month actually.
Is it worth getting a PS3 for multiplayer AC?
i played it on pcsx2 with no issues that i can remember. what was the problem?
I've been playin' some AC Nexus.
Nexus has the best intro movie and such a fantastic ending
Setting up the controller, I just got frustrated and that was back when I had a tv I could still hook my ps2 up to.
what kind of controller? i use a wired 360 for most ps2 stuff and it wasn't hard to setup. sometimes i swap the dpad and left stick depending on the game, like armored core
>why did you not like the Index Virtual On?
If they were gonna add cute girls to attract waifufags, I'd have preferred it be done with something more /m/-related.
Both fanbases were pretty confused by it, and there's not even a hint of DLC after 1.5 years so it doesn't feel like there's much support for it.
this game is fun
Still early on but does DxM get crazy legs like Armored core?
bump
Super robot wars X On the vita and the gunpla building mobile game
I setup Dynasty Gundam 1 a bit ago. Meant to play that. But I started with Kamille and the MK.II just doesn't feel like a good suit. Hopefully he gets the Zeta eventually.
Other than that waiting for SD Gundam Crossrays and which ever SRW is coming to steam first. I think that was October or Nov?
big robot threads are impossible to keep alive. gotta have space in the catalog for 6 smash and a dozen muh waifu threads.
Well that's probably because we already have /m/.
Also these thread can do pretty well. we had a thread reach bump limit not too long ago.
it's not a big deal, Yea Forums has always been too casual to understand mecha stuff
if mechs were all little girls there'd be 24/7 threads
Why weren't there more Gundam games released in America when the gunpla fad was still popular in the late 90s?
youtube.com
Every mission is a goddamn jam what the fuck
gundam was mostly unknown to normies until wing aired
That's what I'm saying
Thats my secret user the Robot IS my waifu
It's a special bonus disc you can get if you complete the Japanese version of the game and send in a registration card. It's basically a special "VR" mission which you get to fight the gun tank and gun cannon, and get ass raped by the gundam. I actually bought both the Japanese version and the bonus disc while I was in japan 5 years ago. Never actually played them though. Bought them more as collectors pieces.
Gunpla was never popular in the late 90s in America. It's more caught on late 00s. Amazon and TRU were even clearing them out in the mid 00s because no one was buying them. /m/ had huge sticky threads of those sales. Perfect grades for like 20 bucks (I still have 2 left).
Most gundam games at the time were mostly UC anyway, and wing, which was the first popular gundam series here, wasn't released until 2000. None of the UC shows were even localized when Rise from the Ashes on Dreamcast was released in America, and people were confused as fuck what the shit was going on and where the fuck were the gundams. IIRC the first UC shows, 0080 and 0083, didn't even come out on VHS in America until like 2001. There were fansubs of the show, done the hard way, back then, but ain't no normies going to have known about those.
I'd play this again if I still had a big ass CRT and a XBAWKS. It's the only xbox game I still own. I don't have the box though, bought the game and controller used at gamestop for 100 bucks years ago.
tfw harmony SOMEHOW sill has the license to macross and I will probably die before they ever lose it
Super robot wars dd
>tfw no new custom robo because nintendo time and time again refused to let the series creator make a new game, and the "successor" he's working on now doesn't look that great
Gundam breaker 2 on the ps3, shit may be jap only but it's still fun to play. Wish I could play gundam breaker 3 but i dont have a ps4 and nu gundam breaker is shit on pc
I wonder why they even bother trying to hold on to it. Every attempt to revive robotech has failed miserably and they do absolutely nothing with macros directly. I can only imagine them trying to push another live action attempt, but who the fuck is going to be their target market? Kids nowadays don't give a shit about robotech, and I would imagine a decent amount of older fans have moved on to actual macross.
those at robotechx no longer all laughing
Dont forget the international courts would DESTROY hg if they ever tried to release it out of america.
Fucking DELETE this thread. Alex Gundam is shit and Kampfer did nothing wrong.
Alex wouldn't have lost to a mere Zaku if it wasn't piloted by a ginger girl
stop bickering. All of the MS designs in 0080 are fucking kino tier. Their implementation into the canon is pretty retarded though.
bump
>was supposed to be an actual series
>Got canned and they decided to make a movie out of what they had
>this is only the beginning
That actually feels like a threat considering what followed
I thought they were losing the license finally.
Like two years ago on /m/ I remember some court case being ruled against them saying they only have the license till 2020 or so?
It got renewed this year
What the actual fuck? Why?
There aren't many /m/ vidya with actually good gameplay
Japs are thick and like money
Literally nobody messes with model kits in America of any kind except maybe those of old muscle cars
Probably because Sony wants to make a live action movie.
wut? Modeling is a decently big hobby in America. You can still find model kits of military shit and cars at most stores that have toys. Gundams were common for a while, but not really anymore. Availability is better still through due to specialty stores and online stores.
Scale figure modeling though is not as popular as in asia, from what I have seen. People would rather just buy figurines and statues prepainted.
How would they even do an international release?
waiting on the next public garrison archangel patch for more story mode stuff; debating buying a switch for daemon x machina, trying out mass builder, but I'm having a hard time getting any joy out of it.
Play Bulk Slash
youtube.com
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
Kinda want Granbelm to get a licensed game. Is it weird to wish for such?
Nothing.
Really need to get decent PS2 controllers so I can start a ZOE1 and a AC2 run, since I got the games a year or two ago
Waiting on both of those to exit early access before bothering with them. EA is a cancer.
DXM is pretty fun, but I wouldn't buy a switch just for it especially not now when there will probably be an improved version by christmas.
Play Starsiege
ACKNOWLEDGE//SUBMIT!
So what are the odds of getting a new proper Gundam Breaker game?
DXM. This shit is confusing though, no idea what's going on in the story and the fact that most of the dialog occurs in the levels themselves when you're busy shooting the shit out of other robots makes it hard to keep track of.
>at some point the moon crashed into the earth
>???
>people now have powers and robots and unlimited energy
>mercenaries start fighting evil AI (the AI is designed to something something stop moon poison and rebuild cities?)
>now mercenaries are fighting each other and nobody will say why
this game really needed more exposition.
I played it regularly when I lived close to a barcade that had it, it's a great game. Might get a PS4 for the home port when that comes out.
Never. Niggerdai killed the series with New and shat on the corpse with that phone gacha game.
Damn. Guess I'll stick with 3 then.
The "improved" version is already out and it's just the lite version.
ACE never ever
youtu.be
Playing Super Robot Wars X
Welp i guess im a Mazingfag now
whyd all the daemon x machina threads die? is the game really that bland
youtube.com
I've just been rolling with it and figure it will make sense eventually if I keep mercing hard enough.
FROM needs to take a break from medieval dark fantasy and get back to their mecha loving roots one of these days. Or just combine them. Shit would be cash.
It's quite good so I couldn't tell you why.
>you will never see any more gundam versus games in english in your lifetime after gvs flopped
The hardcore players have retreated to /m/.
Mecha is niche and always will be. Mos the Yea Forums threads we're filled with people who clearly only played the demo and many of which didn't end up buying the game.
Even the robots general on /vg/ dont want DxM because most of them are PCfags and didn't buy it.
they are a victim of their own short sightedness
if they brought it out on PC theyd have had sales for the rest of their lives
Nice
I like Hambrabi.
Did it flop?
There was definitely some hype around it when it first launched. I hope they didn't have unrealistic expectations of it's sales. But I'm sure it sold about as well as your average anime game like the KLK one or the MHA one.
Yeah, older super robot wars games did that kind of stuff. tfw SRW Alpha was supposed to come over to the west due to gundam wing being HUGE at the time. BUT HARMONY GOLD TOLD THEM NO BECAUSE THEY WONT LET MACROSS GO!
Flopped because they gutted splitscreen and most of the roster from shows with multiple seasons/ova/movie suits. Real shame considering there are exvs cabinets in pretty much all arcades in Japan.
Busy playing it. I've spent three days just customizing things.
DxM. All day off and on.
And I actually sat down and finally finished another Mechwarrior game. 4. Well vanilla at least.
Bandai also doesn't want to jeopardize arcade sales. No splitscreen and terrible roster sucked but it's still one of my most played games on ps4
>FROM needs to take a break from medieval dark fantasy and get back to their mecha loving roots one of these days. Or just combine them. Shit would be cash.
As someone who did a shit ton of souls PVP I don't think it would mix well; I frame rolls are hell for balance.
The best we can hope for is no bamco involvement, sekiro style melee combat with more standard AC movement, and maybe something resembling open world even if will probably be shit since it's one of the handful of things that dark souls does well
theres no way that a new ac can be made without something from memesouls seeping in. they've been focused on nothing but those shitty games for to long.
Daemon X Machina came in the mail today, but I'm trying to wrap up Astral chain before I start it. Need to check out the early access for MASS Builder that just got released.
And I'm freeshitting on Gundam Battle on my phone. Tearing ass with spending a cent.
Dying returns you to the last garage you visited, you must return to and salvage your wreckage to claim the Battle Data from your lost core.
>op isn’t a retarded shitpost
>/m/ thread actually continues and is shitpost free
Blessed thread, Godspeed my robotic brethren
AC parts now have durability and they break permanently if you don't keep them up
Why does the animation completely change after the verniers explode? Are these from two different sources like the original and the movies?
This is true given how many of them are gushing about DxM
> Heavy Gear image.
Man of excellent taste.
Playing heaps of Brigador at the moment.
>Brigador
speaking of any news on Brigador Killer?
I played ZoE a few years ago and it was fun, never tried the sequel
Is there any story reason to play 1 again before 2?
Seems to be so, the scene after the verniers looks like orignal movie animation so this is must be a webm of A New Translation.
How is DxM?
So far all I've heard is that it has a story mode. Presumably new weapons and vehicles etc. but haven't heard anything concrete about what they're including.
How is Brigador
Shallow, if you've played AC you'll be disappointed
Nah. Hope your ready for the sheer jump in quality though.
I think it's good. Simple when compared to AC but still good.
Snoyfags and AC-kun keep shitting up the Yea Forums threads so most of us went back to /m/. A bunch even followed but they got bored and left.
>Doesn't get here until Monday because I wanted it physical
FUCK
Playing the mobile gacha game.
I got the last part to my favorite suit kinda so there is no need for me to spend money on it. Hopefully i don't get fucked hardcore in the long run for trying to go free to play
Any decent gundam/mecha game on PC?
Dont have a console.
The only PC gundam game I know is 0079: The War for Earth which is week. Your best bet is to emulate.
If you just want mech games on PC there's plenty with MechWarrior being the go to.
Alright gonna go kms until I just get into a gundam universe.
BRB
PLEASE tell me this is coming to PC, my Weebstation 4 is broken
emulate the ps2 games
PS1 emulation is rather solid at this point so I recommend at least trying that. You could also test the waters with PS2 emulation as that tends to have the best Gundam games.
Did you just imply Yea Forums prefers games that are good?
Why did the G-Savior look so weird? It looks really organic compared to other Gundams in its shape.
Retarded console war shitposters made any discussion on Yea Forums more trouble than it's worth
I believe part of it is how triangular it is. Most gundam are boxy in appearance.
>How is Brigador
I put 40 hours in so far.
+ Lots of weapons and vehicles.
+ Gameplay feels very different with different loadouts and vehicles.
A big noisy Ultra-class vehicle with a 140mm cannon, 30mm gatling gun and smoke launchers plays like a fairly standard western mech game. But a powersuit with a gamma-ray emitter, electrostatic machine gun and a stealth cloak plays more like a kind of mechanised metal gear solid.
- Objectives are a very samey in the freelance mode
- Some of the new (up-armored edition) campaign levels are kind of bullshit "haha gotcha" levels.
I don't think it was intentional, but I see a lot of similarities between it and Turn-A in its design philosophies, most strikingly in how they seem to treat the white portions as a sort of thin layer overtop the core, darker frame beneath, whereas a lot of Japanese designs treat it as a singular part instead of a layered one.
The war for earth was pretty fucking hilarious. Fat Char is best Char.
Emulate, or mods. Homeworld for instance.
The Turn A is also rather different from other gundam by being very smooth in appearance.
tfw it was designed by Syd Mead But the Turn X was his fave
How active is AC 4 and 5?
Are there any working PS Vita emulators?
Never played a mecha game except for zone of the enders and some gundam dynasty warriors game. Is Daemon X Machina fun?
If you've not played many mech games you'll like it
No clue about legs but I do know that i can get an Arm Gun so that's making me very happy
Why is the TimberWolf / Mad Cat so sexy?
Heavy Gear 2 still stuck on MOTHER FUCKING Gomorrah
Is it the mission where it crashes on completion? That seems to have been a common issue for HG2. the best suggestion I have is to use the cheat "set mission". That should skip the bugged mission and you can continue with the campaign.
>tfw Heavy Gear is fucking dead
It's not crashing there's just too much VTOLs, Assault Frames and Turrets to deal with and I only have so many HPLCs
I know, shit sucks
Just got Battletech, what am I in for?
Daemon x Machina right now.
For Front Mission, it's honestly best to start by trying to first game. The DS rerelease is recommended since it adds an entire second campaign and fixes a lot of shit. The first game does suffer from some weird balance issues, but the writing and art are both good.
If it doesn't click, skip straight to 3 or 4, or 2 if you can read moonrunes. 3 has excellent customization and cool lore stuff like the in-game internet you can explore, but also weird balance, some questionable writing in places, and has you fielding the least amount of units at once in the whole series.
Seriously though, the first Front Mission has some fucking phenomenal spritework.
Also check out Gun Hazard, which is a noncanon spinoff sidescroller but also pretty damn good.
>It's not crashing there's just too much VTOLs, Assault Frames and Turrets to deal with and I only have so many HPLCs
Oh THAT mission. Yeah that one was a bitch. HG2 is already a hard game as well. Even shittier for lighter gears. My suggestion is to max stealth if you're playing a light/medium gear. If you're playing a Cobra or Kodiak I guess it's best to go guns blazing.
Installing Roguetech
Im hearing too much mixed shit about it thag i cant bring myself to give it a try
I'm working on Astral Chain right now and then DXM. Astral Chain is at least /m/ does that count for something?
I picked up Metal Wolf Chaos XD when it released, but I've been too busy contemplating suicide to enjoy vidya.
There's gotta be a better way. :(
Really similar to Armored Core. A bit less mecha customization but it makes up for it imo.
Not really, it's nothing like AC
Playing Daemon X Machina
is there a way to invert gyro controls only? or is that gonna be updated later, the gyro feels so good except for that
i can't into gyro. am i supposed to crank it all the way up, or is it better for just undocked mode?
Roguetech?
It's a mod for Battletech that makes it harder and adds neat shit into the game. You probably should play vanilla for now but after that I recommend installing Roguetech.
rt is pretty great. shame the dev is such a asshat
>this guy walks up to your girlfriend and slaps her ass
what do u do
i cranked mine all the way up, but its not like spastic sensitive, i'd say the sensitivity is better at max
What is gyro?
delicious
No one touches my gf
They love that game in the arcades though. Every arcade had a GVS section and it was always packed, I went to japan this year.
AND WE
AT
I literally bought a 360 for VOOT and NG2 and had a blast playing multiplayer, I remember it being relatively lively and this was back in 2015-2016. I think VOOT still has a fiercely loyal playerbase on 360 to this day, is a shame the new game on PS4 kinda fizzled, but it was expected I guess with that anime crossover thing they tried to pull off.
Give me some strategy mech games to play.
Because there was no split screen, fuck
im playing brigador
battletech with roguetech is probably the most current. some of the old ps2 games had a bit of strategy to them in which path you take but thats grasping a bit
I wish I knew where the arcade cabinet that was at our local bowling alley went. I'd absolutely drop some coin on that. For now I need to find a local copy of it on the Dreamcast.
Viper 2 masterrace
For me, it's Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS'™ Anubis
Its all about lookin futuristic my man! The design was supposed to look streamlined and futuristic
Playing Daemon, wish we could've joined the Western VII.
Most badass name by far.
Doing my Zexis run in SRW Z2.2
How long until the PC release brehs?
MASS Builder is already on PC and is decently fun with amazing customisation, fucking awful paint system though
DxM I reckon will be on PC eventually
More closer to ACV in gameplay, except you can actually fly instead of having to use buildings to jump or hover.
>Early Access
>not done until 2021
Yeah, I'm gonna set up a PS2 emulator if you don't mind
Oh yeah it's got an anorexic amount of content
How's the performance of AC on PS3 vs 360?
EDF 5 can be mecha game if you play only Fencer and Air raider
Imagine not playing Air Raider
This one actually is.
I LOVE GIANT ROBOTS
殘念
just try the demo
there is nothing wrong with dropping 2x the tonnage needed to deal with some pirates
Is MWO worth playing? The customisation looks great and the graphics are amazing for a mech game
But are you a chick?
I wanna start DXM but I'm already in the middle of two other games.
fortunately not
On the up side we know that if it got to be a full-length show it wouldn't have looked nearly as good.
I have watched several Gundam shows and I barely see the difference between the gundam models. The story of a conflict of evil Zeon commies and brave federals doesn't touch me at all too.
Why is Gundam so popular?
Because it's easy pulp to consume. Anyone who likes it, jap or west is a shit eating pleb
>started learning jap
>one day I'll be able to play srw alpha and understand what's going on
Feels good Bros.
>be SE
>hey guys we are bringing back Front Mission...as a shooter
>BUT WHY
>for that COD money, why not
>please dont
>here you go
>turn out shit
>yeahh no more front mission for you because you didnt buy it
>IT WASNT FRONT MISSION!!!!!!!!
God I hate SE so much
Also
>Here's a $30 DLC pack that has a few missions and fuckall else
>I'm not buying that
>Oh no nobody wants to buy Nier DLC, what poor sales
Two word gunplu
>mw5
>0 advertising
>updates hidden behind podcasts
when it sells zero copies they'll say no one was interested and shelve it for another 15 years
I wish we could get a new Another Century's Episode (that isn't like R) and it had Gaogaigar in it. I wouldn't even mind an SRW OG game if it played like the A.C.E. series (and not that Gundam Versus clone). I think it was Infinite Battle or something? How was that game, if anyone played it?
youtube.com
Front Mission for SNES, DS, PS1, PS2.
SRW T. Saizo is the best. I'm thinking on doing a girls only route for Sagiri's playthrough, though all the ships being all autodeployed kinda fucks with that. I guess I could always ignore them.
Is daemon X machina worth playing? Are there cute girls?
No
Yes
>Is daemon X machina worth playing?
Yes
>Are there cute girls?
Does it matter?
Why are there practically no herobot games?
Do i need to play AC3 and silent line before starting nexus?
Yes
yes
Yes, it's a whole rebooted series starting from 3 and goes like this
3->Silent Line->Nexus->Ninebreaker but you can skip it->Last Raven
Probably because the last tv show they had aired 20 years ago.
Not really but It's highly recommended.
Nexus has some plot connections with AC3 and SL as well as being slightly more difficult. Plus after Nexus is the kino Last Raven that should be saved for AC Vets
bitches running now that king crab crab nicholson is on the scene
no but you should. 3 and silent line are excellent
I'm so excited for LR, I've played every previous AC game and it's coming through in the mail
After all the good things I've heard about it I can't wait
Is last raven as hard as people say?
You can skip them.
But I'd advise against it. The AC3 era games (Besides the odd spinoff ones like Ninebreaker) shine most when you play them all
I guess he "can" storywise, but 3 and SL are awesome
Yes and no. It's definitely not good for beginners but once you're in the swing of things its not as hard as you would think.
I still feel peeved heavy gear assault got killed because I think it was the publisher got bought and the new heads wouldn't let the devs continue working on the game unless they paid $200,000 or something.
I asked in /m/ a day or so ago and there's no legs or quadlegs from the sound of it just bipeds sadly.
My favorite AT
Is VOTOMs any good?
Yes IMO. You might like it, you might not. Pic related.
The sequel OVA's are pretty meh though I don't regret watching them but I'll probably never watch them again even when I do a rewatch of the main series, some of the interquels are good and mellowlink is based.
The anime or the PS2 game. I'll assume you mean both.
The anime is good for the more autistic side of the mecha fandom. If you're into gritty war dramas with disposable mechs then it should be for you.
The PS2 game is quite fun if you want some action based mech gamin' however it's all in nip.
It's hard being a Heavy Gear fan when there's always something going wrong. It's no wonder its always on the verge of being dead. I'm still holding hope that HG2 will be on GOG, become open source, or get a proper HG3.
>7
I'm about go dab on my friend in Smash, when I get back this thread better still be up because goddamn it's a videogame thread
I love HG. Own the old RPG books and everything. The current company is a shell of it's former self, all the talent left and only the president and some newbies are left. As for vidya, yeah mechs are already a niche, and Heavy Gear is a niche in a niche.
DP9 is really in need of some change soon. I'm not sure how much longer they can live on kickstarter money. It's a shame that Heavy Gear Universe died as the RPG part of Heavy Gear is its heart. I would love to see a Heavy Gear 3 that implemented more RPG elements into its sim gameplay. Maybe something like MW2 Mercenaries where you play as a badlands resident taking up jobs from various factions.
Yeah the lore for Heavy Gear is great and it would be great to see more of it in the games.
If anyone is interested the books for Heavy Gear and their other mech game Jovian Chronicles are available below.
Just ditch Astral Chain for this. What am i in for lads?
Armored Core 6: Now with more Humans
but was it better or worse than Evolved?
isn't it essentially singleplayer MWO?
are these vaguely playable for virgin EOPs?
Is it better to watch all 52 eps or the recaps? Do you miss a lot with the recaps?
Hard to make gameplay around them I guess.
>Do you miss a lot with the recaps?
Id say so, its not like the gundam movies where it's still understandable.
Re reading muv luv alternative for the first time in 5 years. Still amazing
What the hell happened. Why did they stop releasing new content after TDA 02
FUCK ZEON
