Knight gets a lot of undeserved hate. It looks stunning and gameplay is the best it's been. I find the batmobile complaints overblown too.

Just go with Damian or Terry-beyond batman, set it in this episode where Damian has the cowl and purge everything while dealing with the "not kill" thing of his father.
But I have no hope for this one. Was hyped as fuck before the launch of Arkham Knight, watched every interview with the "ARKHAM KNIGHT IS A TOTALLY NEW CHARACTER, NEVER SEEN IN COMICS"
Fuck this shit. The revelation was so disapointing,it made the game unbearable. Like, you know, Asylum was god tier, City was cool, they were doing new things but to ""end"" on this note ? Nah man.
Bonus point for Knight, having a great scarecrow story.
But a season pass with all the cool vilains, for 50e at launch. Fuck Warner bros and Rocksteady.
I can't understand why some people praise Knight.
They even get rid of most of the infiltration phases, that were the most fun.

I mean I guess I get why people complained about the Batmobile, but I personally fucking loved controlling it. I was fucking playing as the Batmobile, how could that not put a smile on my face?
It was a bit overused near the end though.
Plus I unironically liked Joker and Scarecrow in this game.

250 riddles wasn't even that bad. City had 400+. Plus they each had unique puzzles associated with them and you get to hear Riddler losing his shit as you find more and more. His writing was great in Knight.

They'll find a way to cuck Terry out like they always do. Even in the Batman Beyond comics they had Dick take his place.

I feel like the Arkham series is the only game series I've played that had the quality of the games ranked by release. As in Asylum, City, Origins, Knight is how I'd rank the series

The riddles that were tied to the Batmobile really pissed me off. It really showed that they shouldn't have listened to the fans. The batmobile had no place in the Arkham games.

I personally liked Origins more than City or Knight. Origins is incredibly underrated.

i just finished arkham knight on my playstation because it was free. fun game. it is exactly the same as far cry, assassin's creed, over and over and over and over what's the fuckin point why is every game the fuckin same

Asylum has the worst gameplay and arguably the worst bosses. Every ranking I see for the Arkham series is different based on what the player values the most. If they prefer the enclosed setting and tight narrative with the best atmosphere, they'd like Asylum the most.

The combat system has grown dull. It’s been done to death across so many games now. Unless they revamp the fighting mechanics and give us something new I don’t know what else they can do with the Batman franchise. You need to go justice League or else reboot. Joker is dead, all the other villains have been done. Where do you go from here besides Justice League?

Origins > Knight = City > Asylum for me. All the games are great though.

I don't get how Origins all of a sudden gained a bunch of fans recently. Everyone hated it when it released and I feel like people are now viewing it with rose-tinted glasses. Main things I read are the Christmas atmosphere, best story and boss fights. The Christmas atmosphere I get, but the boss fights are straight up ripped from the Ra's fight in City. Not to mention the bugs, poorly designed game world and combat that was tweaked to be worse for some reason.

There's a true ending? The game's been out for 8 years, how have I not heard about it before now?

I replayed it on PC a couple of months ago and I felt it was fantastic, for basically the reasons you said. Origins had decent boss fights, which means by Arkham standards Origins had fucking masterpieces of boss fights. Great origin for Batman/Joker's whole thing, and I really loved its characterization of Bane.
It's just a really great game overall I think, most of the dumb glitches were eventually patched out.

Just finished Arkham Knight today.
Can't believe I trusted the criticism. The batmobile is fun and I had found 230/243 riddler trophies before even knowing you needed to get them to get the true ending of that quest and the game.

For the next game I think a direct sequel with fear toxin Batman could be cool, or a reboot with a different style, maybe in the 80's. Not a fan of Beyond.

Well, Origins could either be Arkham 3 or Arkham 0. So, Knight could either be Arkham 3 or 4.

i dont want more fucking "arkham". the name of the series perfectly represents the state of the series, milking it even more would just be laughable and theres fucking nowhere to go with it. give me a batman game from a completely different studio in a complete different style this time, preferably a more splinter cell/ metal gear styled stealth game with bosses that dont just amount to QTE's or spamming one relevant combat gadget at the right time

I think it's the best use of the Joker in all four games. The dialogues are funny, the random appearances on top of buildings and on billboards or statues make the free roaming entertaining and Batman's fear is the most interesting aspect of the game.

I agree, I'm glad to find someone who actually has good taste for once. He was very well done, it was very interesting seeing Batman's fear and Joker's conflict with him becoming so personal. They did a great job with him, I think.
I know a lot of people don't like how Joker basically steals the show in all four games, but I'm glad they did him so well and ran wild with Arkham's themes being specifically about Batman and his relationship with the Joker and the fucked up shit he fights.
