>Earlier this week, Nintendo released a patch for Fire Emblem: Three Houses on Nintendo Switch. You can check out the full patch notes here if you're interested (the change of voice actor for Male Byleth was one of the bigger stories to come from it), but fans have spotted something that wasn't clearly spelt out in the list of updates.
>As it happens, a specific piece of dialogue coming from character Bernadetta has been altered; anyone who updates the game will now see the revised text. Originally, the sentence in question was significantly longer, with Bernadetta sharing details of an abusive relationship. The new text doesn't change the plot in any way, but does tone down some of the more sensitive parts of the quote.
Good, "challenged me to stay quiet" is a retarded concept.

Dude, we want literal translations except when we get them. Don't you understand?
Julian Martinez
How is the new one closer? The Japanese says "around the clock" and the old one says "leave me there all day". This sense of time is missing completely in the new translation. How long did her father leave her there? 10 minutes? 2 hours? We don't know now.

The reason for the change is probably because they realized that with the word "submissive" it ended up sounding more lewd that it needed to be, I agree the old dialogue was better tho but I dont really think its a case of censorship as people imply
Cameron Foster
It's not closer The new one is censored and will probably be "..." in the next patch

We knocked out Ferdie, Professor, he used to be our friend. Do you remember those days?
Just think, if they update the carts on future release to include the patch the original copies price will go through the fucking roof. Glad I got mine.

>Sony censors third party titles so much they go from rated M to be rated E : Silence, no one talks about it anymore >Nintendo unnecesarily changes a line but keeps the exact same meaning and content : REEEE 5 threads per day
>Sony censors third party titles so much they go from rated M to be rated E : Silence, no one talks about it anymore There were daily threads about it for a long time, and I'm sure there will be more when Sony inevitably censors something else
