Why aren't we talking about this?
Fuck Ryza.
Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack announced for PS4, Switch, and PC
Where's my vita release?
Oh shit nigger, didn't expect it so soon
>mfw couldn't play Shallie on pstv because of the 12 fps framerate
Thank god for this remaster. I just hope the west will get a physical version this time instead of digital-only.
Better not be €90
Duskshit killed Atelier. All the problems in the Mysterious games can be traced back to Escha&Logy and Shallie. Ayesha was the only good Dusk game.
Shallistera was cute. Japanese VA made me climax. I do not play these games for the gameplay.
are you dumb
Faggot
Glad to know I won't have to emulate Ayesha now. The forced eng dub was a big turnoff for me.
Wilbell best girl.
I knew it was going to happen, a couple months ago there was a sale going on for the Atelier games on Switch and while advertising them, someone on the US Koei Tecmo account teased that the Dusk games would be available on it soon. I haven't played them yet and I don't have a Vita so I can't wait.
Ayesha is the only great one. Escha & Logy was mediocre and Shallie was bad. It's the weakest of the modern trilogies despite the god-tier art and interesting setting.
he's right though
Mana Khemia switch collection when?
>time limits removing all the comfiness from the games
>best games
I tried playing Sohpie and the majority of gameplay seemed useless. Once I got a good pot, everyone's abilities became worthless because bombs did more damage than anything they could do. Are all the games like this?
Why modern Atelier don't have cool male protagonist anymore? Do people actually enjoy self-insert as dumb anime girl and story full of yuri bait?
So just MK1 then?
I enjoyed fapping to Ayeshas panties.
yes
I don't feel strongly about time limits one way or the other, but this argument never made sense. Rorona and Totori are the only games with somewhat strict time limits and even those are only a problem if you want to 100% the game in one playthrough. Play the games normally and they're extremely lenient and comfy.
You would think so, but that's actually just how the midgame is. In the end game, you go back to abilities being really strong because you'll learn that Sophie herself isn't enough to take on the bosses.
I can't wait for this, now more people will get a chance to play Ayesha+.
This also makes 10 Atelier games on Switch in about 2.5 years which is insane.
Ayesha cute. Should I finish her game on ps3 or just wait for the new one? Is it just all dlc included? Cuz I don't really care bout that.
>This also makes 10 Atelier games on Switch in about 2.5 years which is insane.
Tell me about it, I bought the Arland Trilogy last February and I've played those and Lulua once it came out, I bought Lydie & Suelle since I found it for 5€ but I've been holding off on it since I'm hoping for ports of Sophie and Firis, I'm getting and playing Ryza day one and I will do the same with the Dusk Trilogy. If it comes out by the end of 2019, I will have played eight Atelier games in one year.
>series started with 4 female protag
>6 out of 20 title have male/co-male lead
>WHERES MY CUTE SHOUNEN???
Fuck off
But I wanna actually dick the girls.
Don't even bother with a PC port if you're gonna half ass it. The Arland trilogy has random resolution support. Only Totori supports anything above 1080p. Rorona and Meruru both cap at 1080p. The ports are also based on the inferior handheld versions with shit textures.
It's been a while but I'm pretty sure I beat the demon king by just nuking it with bombs. The only Atelier I played where this wasn't the best option was Lydie & Suelle, where I nuked things with Firis instead.
Why can't girls be cool? They're super cool. Like when Firis goes with her sister to take on a dragon god. They act like it's seriously no big deal even though it's a dragon god.
You can't dick a fictional character.
The new version will also have Japanese voices. I won't shit on you for using dub because it's all up to preference, but some people can't stand using them. I used to play Ateliers dubbed but after trying the original voices for Sophie I never wanted to go back. There's just so much more voiced dialog compared to the dub, where most of it is left silent.
All 3 are on Vita already. I think only escha is the only plus version on Vita.
Non-autists don't want to play through games more than once. Let me do everything or fuck off.
No thighs, no buy
>The new version will also have Japanese voices
thank fucking god, these game just don't work with english dubs
Salburg port and translation when?
Even then, it's mostly just character endings you'll miss. For example in Rorona you can comfortably get everything in one go except the rich ending and maybe the Tantris/Astrid endings. And unless you're a trophy whore you can just watch those on YouTube since they don't actually add anything other than different ending clips.
Ayesha+ also has a hard mode, extra super bosses, all the dlc outfits and characters bundled and you have a bingo card with challenges and get bonuses when you fill it out.
How far are you? If you're near the end you might as well finish it, but if you're somewhere in the middle starting over for Ayesha+ wouldn't be a terrible idea.
>you can comfortably get everything in one go
How is it comfortable when everything you do is timed?
How can people be comfortable if their life is limited?
I think Rorona players are just masochists who have done it so much, they've gone numb. I felt like I was constantly missing stuff in Rorona with the timer because I didn't know where to find certain materials.
> Linca's swimsuits
Hot
Right, but this is a game meant to be fun right? If everything has a time limit how is it fun? Want to go back to that city one more time? Nope fuck you, you're out of time.
I was thinking of restarting it since it's been a while, but now I have access to all the ps3 games, so I'm wondering if just playing those from rorona is good, rather than spending probably 180 bucks on these.
>If everything has a time limit how is it fun?
Having to think a tiny bit about what you do doesn't instantly make something not fun.
I played through the game twice. Once was vanilla Rorona back in like 2014 and now just recently with Rorona DX. And I had forgotten most of the details of my original playthrough when playing DX. As long as you don't try to yolo through the game and actually think about what you're doing the game gives you almost too much time. I had entire months where I did nothing but gather materials I didn't really need because I was waiting for the assignment to end.
>>best atelier trilogy
Nope.
Thats Atelier Iris for PS2.
Is there yuri in it?
This will impact my purchasing decision.
>Ayesha was the only good Dusk game.
Ayesha is where the decline started
>Having to think a tiny bit about what you do doesn't instantly make something not fun
Constantly being on the clock is stressful. Stress isn't fun.
Ironically, it looks like the only one with non-yuri.
Learn to prioritize. You can get max rating on each assignment in a matter of days. The one that takes the longest is gathering in the Dark Woods, but even that should leave you with like two months of extra time left.
Are these the Plus versions of the games and/or do they come with all the DLC pre-installed?
If so then I might grab it; i've never played the Plus versions of the Dusk games.
I personally find a much stronger correlation between Dusk's decline an KT purchasing the company.
The reason why the Dusk games are inconsistent is because they all had a different head writer while the Arland games all had one guy.
Ayesha is the best game in the series. Totori was the first nosedive in quality, then Meruru and Ayesha brought the series back on track. Then the series started to decline again until Firis started the current upswing. We still aren't at Meruru/Ayesha levels but it's getting there.
These games give you way more than enough time you would ever need to do whatever. I can't fathom how one could feel stressed out by them unless it's their first videogame.
Really made me think about how true this is.
>tfw realizing a little bit of stress does make things fun as no stress isn't fun
>Are these the Plus versions of the games and/or do they come with all the DLC pre-installed?
>If so then I might grab it; i've never played the Plus versions of the Dusk games.
They're called DX like the Arland Trilogy so they should be the Plus versions with all DLC.
>If everything has a time limit how is it fun?
it forces you to strategize, think about your actions and gives purpose and challenge to everything you do
alchemy, exploration, quest completion etc it's all just vapid grinding without a time limit, but when you're also keeping up with events and even challenging yourself to finish all basic goals with enough time for post game content things become actually engaging
time limits give structure to the atelier gameplay and without them everything is just a meaningless and mindless grind into the next character event
not to mention thanks to the lack of time limits we're also missing out on conclusive character endings and replay value
god I hate ""stress""fags
Almost every Atelier game with time limits ends with me rushing the last few months because i've already accomplished all that I want.
You're right. Being able to lose is also stressful so they should remove battles.
I'm actually interested in buying one of these. Which one should I play first?
I guess you've never learned fear about the unknown. Things that you may have missed but you'll never know because it occurs at specific timings or what you could have done, but didn't do.
For Arland the Plus/DX versions pretty much just bundle in DLC, but for the Dusk Plus/DX games they add in extra stuff too.
You can play all of them on PS3 just fine. Though Shallie+ adds in a ton of stuff that wasn't in vanilla Shallie so you might want to go back and play that one eventually.
Same, I have a save over one year before the end in Meruru DX and I had to skip ahead like nine months to start triggering the cutscenes that lead to the True Potion of Youth ending. If there's any idiocy in the Arland games, it's some of the requirements for certain endings, but that has nothing to do with time limits and it's all about knowing what to do in the first place.
I was underwhelmed by E&L and never played Shallie, but I recently decided to play Sophie. I suppose that I can agree that it's better than E&L from a pure gameplay perspective, but the world and characters are so goddamn bland.
indeed
From the OP? They chronologically go left to right
timed event flags stopped being a thing after totori
either ayesha when it comes out or new atelier rorona/totori right now
I have only played Ayesha, never got around to its sequels for some reason.
>tfw you don't play this dude's game and he shows up in Nelke talking about mana
Cute Piana you got there.
Oh no, that's not what I meant. While I enjoyed Sophie and Shallie I think those two are the low points of the modern Atelier games.
Can't be the best trilogy when it has Iris 3
Ayesha could be an honorary Arland title. Escha & Logy is tolerable. Shallie is the worst game in the franchise.
>Why yes, I do enjoy every game in the series regardless of the time limit, how could you tell?
Totori is a terrible choice for a new player. That game needs a Shin Rorona style remake badly.
PS2 Ateliers are worse. Irisfags need to be gassed.
Ayesha+ is the best place to start. It has a time limit that's not too rigid so moving back to the Arland Trilogy won't feel as stressful, the combat is a step up from Arland, it has a fairly good story that gives you a clear goal and pushes you to reach the end, and has arguably the best art and music of any Atelier.
If you like Ayesha you can go back or forward and be perfectly fine, but if you don't like it then I'd say Ateliers probably aren't for you.
I started with Rorona (DX) and Totori (DX) was my second game, I was fine but yeah, starting with Totori itself would've probably felt a little rough. Ultimately it just lacks a few quality of life conveniences from Rorona Plus, but they do add up and I feel it's better to know that those exist and you're just working without them for this one game.
>Totori is a terrible choice for a new player
It was my first game after the Yea Forums threads back in 2011 and I did fine. Since it's the most outdated of 3 games it sort of makes sense, too, since going back to it after playing either Meruru or New Rorona would be honestly quite painful.
Wait maybe Shin was the 3DS one. I meant the Plus remake. Although I'd still love to play chibi Rorona's game.
Totori looks super cute here.
She looks like she has brain damage
>this character design was squandered by experimenting with two protagonists and having her be the useless half of the duo
I wonder if they really just wanted to write a generic JRPG protagonist but (correctly) thought that it wouldn't sell, thus, Escha was born to be the cute girl that people expect to see in Atelier games while Logy actually got shit done. Logy seems like a creator's pet at this point.
Same. Totori is a great game, which also makes it a great introduction to Atelier.
She just got high impact sexual violence'd.
They're both Shin.
I mean, they’re not gonna make the guy cute and clumsy.
Shin Rorona was just the Japanese name of Rorona Plus.
Wow, wrong twice in the same post.
Rorona is the best place to start and here's why.
The other games all have multi-years time limit. The games go like "Hey you have 3 years to do this" but actually you don't even know what your final objective is. So beginners will think "Oh this only takes 10 days so I can do this, eh who cares if I waste 12 days here" etc. because they have so much time they don't think about rationing it. Then suddenly they realize they have no time left for to complete the final objectives.
Rorona on the other hand is like "Hey you only have 3 months to do this, DON'T FUCK THIS UP". 3 months is a short amount of time so right away the player will be careful at not wasting time. Then they'll get their next objective with another 3 months and be careful.
Rorona teaches you to manage your time autistically which trains the player to play other Atelier games which have vague objectives and with more lenient time limits.
As for the "Time limits ruin Atelier"; we've had 4 games with no time limit since Arland, and Firis which has half a time limit. NONE of them are particularly popular. The most popular Atelier titles are still the Arland games, so much that THEY MADE A FOURTH ONE because people love Arland so much. Face it, time limits are what made Atelier succesful and Gust are retarded to not see it. Persona also has a time limit and is even more popular than Atelier. 2D Mario games also have time limits and it's one of the most successful franchise in the world.
Why not? Would be fun.
Sure sure people love Arland most yet Lulua didn't sell particularly well.
Logy is a generic LN protagonist, Escha has to be useless so that self-insertfags can feel useful around her.
Because Gust is retarded
>Realize Arland is the most popular trilogy
>Make another one
>Remove what made it popular (Time limit)
>"Why didn't it sell?"
Waifufags would hate that, but I’d love more cute boys in these games too.
They always had cute boys though
Even Ryza is trying, though I don't think they nailed it very well
I guarantee your take on the time limits couldn't be more wrong.
Lulua failed because Gust spent the past few years pushing out fat turds and calling them products, killing off consumer interest.
I love the Arland games but I couldn't care less about Lulua because the past 5 games before it have been hot poopoo.
The couch ending for Totori is worth experiencing at least once and if you fail once it's no biggie, it only incentivizes you to keep playing more.
This is like saying Sengoku Rance is a terrible game for beginners since you're supposed to not do that well in your first playthrough and instead experiment with the mechanics and whatnot. It's not that punishing and once you know the basics it barely takes you like 2 hours of play to catch up back to where you were once you fell to the inviting, magical warmth of the couch and the wonders of the NEET life once.
Logy is amazing. Even the Japs call him 俺たちのロジーさん
Japs also love Kirito and Jesus Yamato
I don’t think they even tried to pander to girls in Ryza.
Is this from the online game?
Japan hates guys in Atelier but Logy and Sterk are exceptions.
I think Tao and Empel were both made trying to appeal to girls but the character designers doesn't really know that market well and failed.
Nobody actually self-inserts as Logy because people like him as a character.
Logy should have been relegated to side character status. Escha should have been the sole protagonist who's cute, clumsy, and solves problems from center-stage when it counts. You shouldn't have one protagonist who's cute and another who's actually useful. Cute girls who drive the story and solve problems are part of what keep people coming back to Atelier, after all.
I actually think that he was made to appeal to Atelier's large female base, but Atelier fans (girls included) play Atelier for the cute girls. It's the wrong franchise to have a protagonist like Logy.
They’d look attractive if the artist gave them normal hairstyles.
Agree about Tao but Empel has otome hair
I think an Arland 5 is inevitable, Lulua still did decently and I think Ryza will do better than usual due to its anticipation.
Who the FUCK is this character for
Not a cute bishie for girls
Face is too goofy for bara fans
Not cool enough to be a male self-insert
>Atelier fans (girls included) play Atelier for the cute girls. It's the wrong franchise to have a protagonist like Logy.
Wasn’t he 5th on the official poll? I think plenty of people like him, especially girls. E&L+ seemed like an otome game with the new events too.
Empel looks a lot worse when you see his hair from behind.
I hated how the plot started revolving around what’s-her-name in the later chapters. She just appears out of nowhere and steals the spotlight.
>Fuck Ryza
With pleasure!
It's a shame because he seems like an okay character from the new story trailer, a guy who's dissatisfied with his everyday life and wants to go find something exciting to prove himself.
Yeah, that's the one thing the game did badly, they should've had more events revolve around her midgame so that you would care about her rather than just consider her a living MacGuffin.
God he’s ugly. How did they think people would like this design
>Haven't played Lulua because I never got the perfect endings in Rorona and Meruru and want to buy the rereleases but it'd take me a while to complete them
>Haven't played Escha and Shallie
>New Atelier game already coming out
She didn’t even need to be a major character. What’s the point of making a new Arland game when most of the characters aren’t even present?
Kind of looking forward to it, but if it's 100 bucks no thanks.
Me. I unironically like this dude. He seems chill as fuck, also he's thick.
It's particularly bad with Lulua because if you want to understand absolutely everything, you do need to play Rorona Plus' postgame and Meruru's NG+ dungeon.
His character seems fine and I think some people will like him after playing him, but his design is so unappealing. He reminds me of the gym leader from the new pokemon; bara, goofy face, dumb red hair
>Face is too goofy for bara fans
Doubt that's a problem for those fags honestly.
Bet you it'll be digital only
>he doesn't know that only Japan had physical release for Arland DX
I think they did a decent job balancing a new cast with old characters, I'd say only the Meruru cast got somewhat shafted in terms of appearences, could've at least had Rufus there too. And I don't mind new characters taking the focus, that's how it was in previous Arland games too, now there's just too many to keep featuring everyone in a significant capacity. I did really like how the world map expanded to show all of Arland.
E&L killed the hype when people were high on Atelier after Arland and Ayesha. I think a lot of that had to do with the crummy characters, including the male protagonist that nobody asked for and the cute girl that they were there to see being useless.
>NONE of them are particularly popular.
The Mysterious Trilogy actually did better in sales than Arland did.
Arland is definitely the most popular Atelier trilogy on Yea Forums but it has a lot more to do with it being about 10 years old and available to anyone with a PS3, and for a long time whenever someone would even mention Dusk they'd get shitposted against until they stopped or left the thread. Same thing happened when Sophie and Firis were out. I didn't bother coming around here when Lydie and Suelle first came out because I knew how the threads would go.
I didn’t like the town or the maps in E&L, but the characters, combat, and alchemy were fine. I was surprised by how much I liked Logy, so I can’t agree with you on that.
I just didn’t see why it had to be an Arland game when the plot is so disconnected. They could’ve done a lot better with such a long-awaited sequel that people didn’t expect to get.
Sure i'll platinum Ayesha for the 3rd time, don't give 2 shits about the others tho.
>one good game
>best trilogy
I wasn't even aware Duskfags existed.
They do outside of Yea Forums.
>90 dollars
>FPS still sub 30
>English only dub
I hate you so much Nu Gust
Dusk >>>>>> Mysterious >>>>> Arland
Arland is overrated af and very lacking story and gameplay-wise
>Logy number 5 most popular atelier protagonist in a character poll last year, handily beating out Escha
No.
Story isn't even the main focus of Arland. The focus here is the characters, and I think the Arland games have some of the richest casts of characters in the entire franchise.
For me it'd be Ayesha > Arland >>> the other Dusk games >>> Mysterious
My point all along has been that Escha is a crummy character when she needed to be a good one.
I like Dusk the most too but you can't talk about E&L or Shallie here since it leads to shitposting.
>male protagonist that nobody asked for
>so popular, he got Pamela'd into Sophie and Firis
If I'm a Sterkfag, will I like Logy?
Logy's significantly less insane than Sterk is.
>Arland DX trilogy on PC
>Dusk DX trilogy on PC
>Mysterious on PC
>Nelke on PC
>Lulua on PC
>Ryza on PC
>future Ateliers will almost certainly be on PC
>can emulate Iris trilogy, Mana Khemia duology, as well as Marie and Elie with English patch
>can emulate untranslated Lilie, Judie and Viorate if you can understand nip
>ALL GAMES IN 60 FPS (except emulators unless someone made a patch)
PC is the true Atelier platform now. The glory days of Vita plus versions are over.
Maybe? I don’t care for Sterk, but I’ve seen people that like both.
>PC is the true Atelier platform now.
>No physical releases
>Why yes, I do enjoy squinting at my Ateliers and experiencing frame drops/crashes, how did you know?
Escha’s literally fine. Heck, she ends up making him feel better about the shit he’s been through and crafting the important parts of the airship.
How is the overreaching plot in this trilogy ? I only played Mysterious and the overall plot left me uninpressed, it was more about the characters than the storyline imo.
lmao Dusk's plot is literally unfinished
The Vita is dead (rest in peace, sweet tight cunny princess) and that's okay. Since we're not getting an emulator PC ports at least allow these versions to live on in history.
Did we even play the same game? Escha practically solves everything because Logy can't even do good alchemy. In Shallie too, he's sidelined when all the other alchemists get together because he's a filthy Centralfag.
The DX packs get physical releases on PS4 in Japan. That is the true Atelier platform.
Let me guess, PC will have to wait for the localization because fuck PC users who speak Japanese.
I'll just stick to vita thank you very much.
I like it but it desperately needs another game to wrap things up.
user...those are games already localized...
Fuck this. Post Ryza
I'm just fucking salty with Ryza.
>NOOOOOOOOOO I HAVE TO WAIT A MONTH THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING
Which Atelier games have the best males?
At least there is now only a month between the Japanese release and the localization. It used to be much, much worse.
having to wait a month is fucking lightning speed tier in localization man
Any Arland, I'd say. Though I haven't played the really old games.
Iris 2 had dragon bro.
The problem is I don't give a fuck about the localization and neither do I play JP games in English. But I still have to wait anyway if I want to insist on playing on PC because again, fuck PC users who knows Japanese. That's why I'm salty.
Dusk, easily.
I get you, but at least you're not waiting long. There are lots of Japanese games that take forever to come to PC.
>MUH PRETTY BOXES
Who gives a fuck. It has no effect whatsoever when it comes to actually playing the games.
It happens. It's probably the localization branch that's also dealing with the PC port.
Be glad the port even has an option for japanese-speaking users in the first place, since a bunch of them don't.
For me it's
Ayesha > Firis > Rorona > Lydie & Suelle > Escha & Logy > Totori > Sophie
Haven't played the others yet.
Meruru had Rufus, and E&L+Shallie had Solle, I thought those were pretty good. But I'm not a faggot so what do I know.
2/3 of the Arlands had fucking Gino, so no.
2 out of 4 now, he was MIA in Lulua. Though to be fair, he could be completely ignored past Totori's prologue.
Fucking finally, now I can replay Logy's Bizarre adventure
I wonder whatever came of those special events back before the DX version of E&L came out that seemed to tease marriage events?
I find it interesting you say that because I clearly remember the threads back when Shallie just came out and was under-performing and people were in agreement that it was as far as the series could be carried by yuribait alone
Wish I worked for Gust bros
Imagine working all days making games about cute girls
gino was pretty hot in meruru, though desu
Ayesha is the only good one.
Which Atelier games have cute playable shotas?
I like some of gust's games but the company has a very bad reputation for being one of the blackest corporations in all of the industry
it got better recently but back during the old pre-arland days everyone pretty much lived in the office
just make your own games instead
The upcoming game has one.
>The other games all have multi-years time limit. The games go like "Hey you have 3 years to do this" but actually you don't even know what your final objective is.
>Rorona teaches you to manage your time autistically which trains the player to play other Atelier games which have vague objectives and with more lenient time limits.
Out of curiosity, have you ever played Atelier Annie?
As the one dude who actually likes Gino, reading this feels bad.
I said cute
Ignore him, user. Gino is a cute.
Gino is a massive cuck. Imagine pinning for a lesbian for over 9 years.
I haven’t played L&S but it has a really cute boy.
he's not pinning for anyone, his ending isn't canon and meruru makes it clear he's actually cheering for mimi and all
he's a man of taste
It started fantastically with Ayesha. It left you with wanting to discover more about the world.
Then E&L came and it was just a filler, it added literally nothing to the lore.
Then Shallie tried to tell its own story while also trying to wrap things up that started in Ayesha. The result was obviously a disaster.
Does he even still care by the time of Meruru? I don't remember any particular teases there. And by the time of Lulua he's left Arland to explore other territories while Totori is still around with Mimi as her little lap dog.
Hows the Atelier PC ports thus far?
Gust saw how much Mimi was popular so they stopped teasing Totori with anyone else.
They're definitely going to make XXX NO ATORIE: TASOGARE NO RENKINJITSUSHI FOUR.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they port Ar Nosurge Plus this time next year. They might even do Ciel Nosurge too but I doubt that one would get an English release.
Yeah, and I suppose Sterk's popularity is why they never stopped teasing him with Rorona while others like Cordelia and Tantris were phased out. I don't mind that.
I think Ciel nosurge plot is fully translated on Jewtube now. It's just that you miss out on the simulation elements.
>XXX NO ATORIE
Yes.
>Getting to play as based Earthes
we can only hope
they could pay the ARM fags like $500 for their translation in order to use it, though they probably won't anyways
cory deserved better
I hope it’s nothing like Lulua.
You unironically want this?
The only cuck in Arland is Sterk. How long has he been trying to fuck Rorona? Did he manage to in Lulua?
They better not pull the “x’s daughter” angle again
We haven't had time limits since Firis, and the cost system was only brought back in Lulua in a very cucked and easy-to-circumvent form (base TP from Alchemy Lv + TP from traits, duplicate traits inclusive). Let's face it, if you haven't enjoyed Atelier since Ayehsa, Dusk 4 will not please you.
No, but there's finally a little development and they leave together at the end towards the eastern continent from the end of Atelier Totori.
>they do it
>she's actually not adopted
>she's biologically Escha and Logy's daughter
I would be more than OK with this.
I'd be down for Escha & Logy's canon blood-related daughter.
What the fuck, does the Vita version really look that bad?
Sterk still hasn't scored, but neither has Rorona, so he's not a cuck. Gino is a cuck because Totori gave her virginity to Mimi.
i heard that the dusk trilogy has a wet fart ending that doesn't really do anything or give anything resembling a satisfying conclusion, is this true?
i've only played totori (vanilla on ps3) and i'm interested in these but not if the finale sucks.
All Ateliers since Firis uses the project journey "improvements". Vita could barely run that shit. Dropping it for Lulua made Lulua perform very well, and Ryza's graphical upgrades look even more stunning (in comparison to past Ateliers, not saying they compete to even Crysis).
>Dropping it for Lulua made Lulua perform very well
And thank god. I can't believe how well Lulua runs on Switch compared to Lydie & Suelle.
Shallie Plus improves on the original Shallie ending in that regard, but the overall plot in the Dusk setting is just too large to be easily handled without a new game devoted to just it.
TASOGARE NO RENKINJITSUSHI FOUR
Yes. In the previous game Firis it looks and runs even worse than that. Blue Reflection has similar framerate problems even after getting huge cuts to things like shadows and textures.
lmao Vita was a mistake
>best Ateliers ran okay on the Vita
>worst Ateliers ran like shit on the Vita
BASED
The characters would be really old then, and I don’t think Gust would do that.
The Vita was not a mistake, it's just that it has no business getting ports anymore.
Downports can be good but downporting two generations down is impossible, specially for a low budget company.
It was okay for the PS3 games but once Nights of Azure and Sophie came out they should have dropped it since that's exactly where the terrible ports started happening. Not saying there wasn't problems with the earlier ones but those games had no business trying to run on Vita.
>not wanting milf Escha and dilf Logy
They all run like shit on Vita.
I’ve yet to play Shallie, but it looks fun. Why don’t people like it?
ironically azure 2 looked and ran better on vita than 1
The company that did the character models for Dusk don’t work with Gust anymore so they wouldn’t look very good either way
Why even release portables at all anymore? Everyone has a smartphone, 4G is standard almost everywhere, and 5G is right around the corner. Streaming from a console is more than doable now. Maybe have a special mode that resizes ui elements when playing on a phone
Bros I can’t wait for Ryza’s game
Go home google shill.
The two big ones were it doesn't conclude the mystery of the Dusk, and it has no time limit so people without self control would grind out things instead of progressing the story then wonder why it was so easy.
It looks fun but I don’t like the character designs. Ryza doesn’t look like an Atelier protagonist.
Klaudia does though
This is digital only again, right? And it's going to be expensive like Arland DX. Then I'll wait for a very severe price drop.
Arland barely gets price drops so you going to wait a long ass time
>streaming from a device you control, and can still buy physical discs for
>bad
Steam Play is neat. Fuck off
How's the music? That's literally the only reason to care about Atelier games.
I wanna lick mimi's poonanny!
That doesn’t seem too bad for how much people shit on it.
Just use this costume
Ayesha has probably the best Atelier soundtrack they've ever done, and Shallie's is almost as good. Escha and Logy's wasn't bad by any stretch but it's the weakest of the three. Dusk definitely has the best music of the past 3 trilogies.
Here are the openings of each for a taste:

>Ryza doesn’t look like an Atelier protagonist.
How do you figure?
Too thicc for you?
She's too sexy and not just a cute normal girl. She stands out too much.
Ayesha and Escha had god tier openings.
>limited edition
Nah
Not him but most Atelier protagonists wear girly dresses with many accessories, frills or other girly stuff. Older ones had less accessories but still big dresses with lots of clothes. Ryza is dressed relatively skimpy and doesn't have many accessories or other trinkets on her clothes.
Escha was unbelievably sexy
>t. Logy
Its KTGust. They are nip Jews.
Have they said how we'll be able to get it in the west?
If you can run Sophie on your PC, you can run Dusk. Just do the usual needful, if you know what I mean.
I thought that was Capcom
Or Namco
Or Square
Or ArcSys
Or Marvelous
Never mind they're all fucking jews
NINTENDO WON
Not until the Switch gets ports of Sophie and Firis as well.
Do I buy Arland DX now and get Ryza next year, or Ryza on release and Arland DX next year
Post THAT Shallie pic
You’re right, she’s looks like a goddess
Get Ryza now and look out for the next sale on Arland, they happen.
Was just playing vesperia on the switch, if they can't make the bottom run on the switch, they're fucking retarded.
I want to buy the current Atelier games bundle on Switch E-shop but they're so damn expensive
I want to play Atelier's in order at least the 3D ones since all will now be on PC. Will Arland get on sale anytime soon?
Assuming you mean PS4 or Switch, about 6 months after a release they put the rest of the physical copies on clearance for about half off or sometimes more.
If you don't want to wait that long then grab Ryza on release and Arland DX the next time it goes on sale. They don't do digital sales too frequently so if you see one then jump on it.
Play Lulua, it looks better on Switch than L&S PS4 in that screen. They really improved.
Sad but true. I only buy games on sale now.
nice i dont have to spend over 300 dollars to get it on the vita
I liked Shallie. Cute, 15 years old, slim, long dark hair. Definitely my FBI fetish.
The game was comfy.
You forgot her delicious small nearly-flat chest
Quality of PC ports?
I thought I'd prefer blue haired Shallie more and picked her first but flat Shallie grew on me over time.
I don't know what kind of magic they pulled for that game to get it to look and run so good on Switch compared to the previous ones. Either changing engines was the fix, or dropping Vita so they could spend more time on the other versions was the right move.
I'm a little worried about how Ryza's Switch version will fare though since that one seems like a pretty big step up from even Lulua, and the combat seems faster and more involved. Guess we'll see soon.
I wonder why the Shallies were so low on the official poll.
Why are there two Shallies
Do they kiss
>Ayesha finally playable with japanese audio
Thanks, I can start playing this series now.
They're getting better. I don't think there were any major issue the last few ports KT put out
I get what you mean. She doesn't really look out of place as an Atelier MC for me though.
Her standard design fits her personality I guess, since she's supposed to be part of a farmer family. And I'm pretty sure she is kind of a tomboy.
So Arland trilogy + Lulua, and Mysterious trilogy are safe to buy?
Yeah, it fits her, it just doesn't look like the typical Atelier protagonist. I also think it might have been influenced by the setting, we've seen a lot of beaches, boats, and the sea can be seen from different areas, so her outfit feels summer-like.
I think the beast girl (Lila I think) is by far the least Atelier-like design though, she looks straight out of Night of Azure.
Find out for yourself. There's a refund policy for a reason
This is maximum comfy. It doesn't get more relaxing than this.
youtube.com
No issues but options menu is absolutely skeletal. You can only change resolution and MAYBE one other thing that I can't remember. Games might be locked to 60 FPS too, can't remember.
The only redeeming thing about the Dusk series.
I love /fa/ old men
t. 20 years old yumjoshis with daddy issues
Impregnate Rorona
They showed gameplay on the Switch in a recent stream. The video is kinda long, but they explained a lot of stuff and showed most of the game mechanics.
Here's a link
youtube.com
Would you really impregnate an almost 40-year old hag?
It’s obviously a guy that hates attractive guys in games
But Keith is super attractive
Nice, thanks user.
I'll have to give it a proper watch later, but skipping around to all the gameplay parts I could see the PS buttons on the bottom so I think most, if not all of it is the PS4 version. I'm sure I missed some though since I only gave it a quick once over.
I'll end up buying it on both so I guess it doesn't really matter in the end but I was curious how it would turn out.
Well my waifu is Esty so...
The title of that video is misleading. This is the stream with Switch footage: youtube.com
I was surprised by how much Shallie Plus ramped up on this whole Ayesha and Keith thing. Literally makes Escha so jealous when Ayesha is describing Keith that she runs off to immediately find Logy.
Maybe they added it due to the relative popularity of the ship
Do they explain why Linca was being cloned in the tanks in Shallie?
Oh wow, I had actually watched this before in the background when I was doing something else and assumed it was the PS4 version, but checking those inputs in combat it's clearly the Switch version. I'm impressed.
Thanks you two.
Yeah, maybe it lacks a few shadows? And it's obviously going to be lower resolution, but overall it seems to look pretty much the same.
I had been meaning to try these on my Vita. Maybe I should just sell the poor thing already.
Unless you hacked your Vita to get the trilogy and all of the DLC for free you're better off getting them on any other platform.
will ayesha have jap voices? man I still haven't bought arland even though I've been wanting to play them for years.
Most likely, the Vita version did
If these are like the Arland ports, they'll be based on the Vita versions, which do have Japanese voices.
I want to get up in Ayesha
I love Regina!
Seriously what were they thinking? Sterk and Rorona having a kid would have made this game x100 comfier
Something something don't upset the status quo.
BLUE REFLECTION 2 WHEN
Ayesha is the best modern Atelier. That atmosphere really show what Gust capable to do. At least what they used to.
Thats one fine vagina.
They'll announce it at next year's TGS assuming the staff of Gust don't all drop dead from overwork.
Thats dumb, you had the yuri audience for things like totori/mimi and you had the whenwillSterkcomeinsideRorona audience. It's not like Rorona had many waifufags being 40 years old, she is like Usagi from sailor moon, you know she is going to fuck yes or yes
SterkxRorona would have been one of the best videogames couples unironically
I agree. Actually I don't mind Lulua being some random orphan that Rorona took in, but I still hope that if future Arland games are made, Rorona X Sterk happens (and Totori X Mimi, sure).
>>best atelier trilogy
>>best stories
>>best gameplay
>>best girls
Arland's been out for a while already.
I love Arland, but you can't even say they have stories aside from Totori, somewhat.
>Irisfags need to be gassed.
There are only like 2 of those, they're nowhere near as bad as the MKfags.
I feel like Gust are afraid of the otakus more than those fans actually care. This isn't Love Live. There'd be complains if it came out of nowhere, or it was a male character fans didn't like, or if the majority of their female characters had canon husbands. But Sterk was a popular character and he had 3 games of buildup with Rorona. I think there's more fans disappointed that they didn't make it officials than there would be fans disappointed if Rorona was no longer a virgin.
Then again these are the same idiots who made Rorona a loli because they thought fans wouldn't want a Rorona in her 30s.
As opposed to Dusk where you can say the same with Ayesha? E&L is literally 98% of the game going "I hope we can go to those ruins in the sky there might be something there" and then the last 2% is actually going there and getting some dopey end of the world shit dumped on you. At least in Rorona some shit actually happens over the game's three years.
My laptop has a busted GPU, can't run modern games on it. I tried to do Blue Reflection and Atelier Firis, neither worked.
>>English only dub
Dude, what?
LOGY BROS! Does he score?
these games puke
Ayesha+ has been out for years though.
The other character might be lackluster but Sophie herself shits all over any character from any one of the games. There's a reason she always comes on top in the polls.
I know nothing about the series but I saw Ryza gameplay and stuff yesterday and it looked quite comfy, gonna buy it. Surprisingly enough, fapping to her comes second for me.
>Totori was the first nosedive in quality
You must be retarded to think this. Or your only experience with Rorona is the New version.
It was something like they were artificial humans created by the ancient humans to handle administration over the tools they created to counteract the Dusk. Most of the facilities shut down over time, but then in the modern day, some people found it and created the 8 Lincas before they escaped and/or were rescued.
>Fuck Ryza
I wish.
E&L Plus actually does add a scene where the two confess their feelings to each other. Shallie Plus is then filled with tons of scenes where Escha acts all lovestruck around Logy and gets jealous when he doesn't spend more time with her.
How much yurifaggotry is there?
>The reason why the Dusk games are inconsistent is because they all had a different head writer while the Arland games all had one guy.
Rorona and Totori were both written by Toshiyuki Suzuki, but Meruru wasn't, it was done by Yasuhiro Nakai, Tamon Matsuzawa, and Yoshito Okamura. This is probably why Meruru had shit like loli Rorona.
Come to think of it, I should take a look at Lulua's credits and see how many, if any, old staff came back.
You think anyone ever created their own qt waifu?
I wonder if we'll ever get a JRPG with an established couple as the main characters.
>This is probably why Meruru had shit like loli Rorona
And Esty being "why am i not married" the character, Sterk being pigeonman and Astrid completely negating her own development from Rorona?
Come to think of it I disagree with a lot of characterization choices in Meruru.
Because they'll be sold for $40 each.
Pigeon quirk aside (which was at least funny because Rufus also had it), I didn't mind Sterk in Meruru, it was endearing seeing him all conceited that he gets to be a proper knight for a princess again, even though Meruru doesn't want him to act like one.
>Sterk literally bursts apart celestial objects as he swings his sword to split the enemy/moon in his special attack in Lulua
How can one man be so based?
>Lulua was written by Yuya Jin
Fuck, why do they keep this guy? That aside it seems like the only key staff from Arland brought back for Lulua were Yasuhiro Nakai, but in a management position this time, and Tamon Matsuzawa, still doing game design. And of course Tadanobu Inoue producing.
I was going to say "and the characters being flanderised in general" but opted to leave it out since I wasn't sure how well I was remembering it.
And yet he has basically no reaction to Rorona being turned into a kid.
Final Fantasy 4
I want to breed an Atelier
>And yet he has basically no reaction to Rorona being turned into a kid.
From how I remember it, it's implied he had already saw her in kid form before he arrived in Arls, he doesn't act surprised about it and is simply exasperated. I didn't get the feeling it was the first time he saw her like that.
>no Xbox version
Missed opportunity for a new untapped market.
*he had already seen
>Face it, time limits are what made Atelier succesful and Gust are retarded to not see it.
Every Atelier game prior to Iris had time limits. It's not some bold new idea for Arland, it was Arland returning to form after Iris and MK were trying to branch out and attract the more conventional JRPG audience and failing.
>The Mysterious Trilogy actually did better in sales than Arland did.
No it didn't. Sophie sold about as well as Totori did and then Firis and L&S both fucking bombed hard and came nowhere close to Arland sales. And the LTD figures we've been given for Mysterious that bumps them up is factoring in the rest-of-asia sales as a lump figure, which have never been provided for Arland.
Stop lying, Dusk was still plenty popular until Shallie came out and had its severe lack of resolution piss everyone off, it was only with Sophie's release and the endless shitposting around it and then Firis that every thread then turned into a mess of infighting about which series was best. And then the PC ports only made it worse.
Been playing ateliers since the vita versions came out. Don't know how you guys enjoy them anymore. I've been so disillusioned after Shallie/Sophie.
The Dusk games already ran like shit on the Vita especially with the memory leaks; you play Ayesha+ for a few hours and NPCs in towns start taking 40+ seconds to load in after the map does.
Wait what tell me more about this. I thought Gust was nice.
This looks a lot better so it's a shame it's just a copy of the other girl's outfit.
The new game's character designs are terrible in general but people will ignore it because THICC faggotry. The worst part is that just about every design could go from bad to great with just a few tweaks.
What do you think of proto-Ryza design? I can't post it right now because I don't have access to the image.
>Then again these are the same idiots who made Rorona a loli because they thought fans wouldn't want a Rorona in her 30s.
And then the fans were so pissed they patched a new ending in to revert it. Gust is completely out of touch.
I don't think I've seen the prototype design so if you can't post it there's not much I can say.
How is the PC port for Rorona, Totori, and the third bitch?
Nevermind, I found it
>tfw ywn be able to take that paper and hang it up on your wall in a nice frame
>every Atelier thread user stops by to say X game is the best and the series is dead now
If anyone is just passing through and is wondering what is up with that, it is because this series attracts advanced autism. It is good though! I just wouldn't listen to all the downies that post about their "excellent taste" in the underage panty quest games.
>user
>implying it is just one
You can stop coping now.
>advanced
>not multi-linear
Did you even think about what I wrote before you jumped to your buzzwords, downie? It doesn't make a difference if there is one or twenty of them.
Wow, that's 10 times better than what we got. Why the fuck did they toss out this perfect design in favor of the coombrain shit we got? Fuck nu-Gust, honestly.
I don't like the mismatched thighhigh, the collar, the hat, or the breast cutout, and the way her hair is tied up looks weird, but aside from those things I like it. I'd say I like it a little bit more than the final Ryza design, although for the prototype we can't see below the thighs so it might also have retarded shoes.
If you brought up Ayesha people would talk about it just fine, but if you brought up E&L people would only start talking about the decline of Gust and why can't Dusk be more like Arland, and how Arland was better. Then Shallie came out and any mention of it was that it sucks, Dusk sucks besides Ayesha and talk would move right back to Arland. Even when the Dusk Plus releases started happening on Vita it was the same in the threads, and things only started to let up on the Dusk games when Sophie came out and the same thing started happening to any discussion of Sophie.
You could find the occasional thread that would actually discuss them but the majority of the time that didn't happen.
>I just wouldn't listen to all the downies that post about their "excellent taste" in the underage panty quest games.
It's this line where you reveal that you're not even a fan of the series when you dismiss them all as underage panty quest. The actual fans get heated about the quality of the games because they actually like (or liked) them as games.
Yeah, makes it weird to get recommends for which one to start with as well. Might just wait for the new one just to be there from the beginning, in terms of its reception.
I am a fan, but it doesn't matter even if Im not because I am right.
Yeah, it is fucking obnoxious trying to recommend shit in this fandom because of all the downies and their hot takes. It is clear they genuinely don't care if newfriends have a good time with the games or not.
Why do you need new recommendations when people have been recommending you start with Rorona ever since it came out and the only change since then has been Rorona+ coming out and being told to start with that instead?
>It is clear they genuinely don't care if newfriends have a good time with the games or not.
What ass-backwards logic is this? People talking about what game is the best to start with is exactly because they want people to have the best experience.
Start at Rorona Plus for the Vita or DX for PS4/Switch/PC. Then play Totori Plus/DX. Once you get to Meruru, you should try playing the DX version if possible. If not, watch the Neo-Prologue and Neo-Epilogue on Youtube after you finish the About Time ending.
don't listen to this guy and play all of Sophie's games. Rorona is old.
She could always be the heroine of the second game!
Totori Plus was my first Atelier, and I played vanilla Rorona (Plus wasn't a thing yet) afterwards. Rorona is a much better game. Had I not took a chance on that I probably would have never touched another Atelier, because Totori is fucking lousy. I eventually played the Rorona remake earlier this year by way of the DX PS4 port.
The series is still as good as I ever was desu. Just a little different now.
In Eschatology and Shallie, how much does the choice of protagonist change the game? Are you meant to play the games twice to see everything?
Enough arguing about which games are better
Which games have the better girls?
>tfw Rorona is actually an old hag while even L&S Sophie still looks youthful despite also being called old
Imagine being a person who plays these shitty pedobait games
But they're good pedobait games.
Shitty pedobait games would be Neptunia.
Ye boy, when I see Ryza's childish thighs all I can think about is my Russian child bride coming in the mail.
I really liked the Neptunia games before. Don't know if I just grew up or Chris-chan ruined them for me, but I can't think of them the same as I use to.
Ryza > everything else
Ryza's breasts are on the large size. This increases the size of my penis.
You don't even know her yet! What if she's like post-OP or something, bro?
Klaudia is literally perfect.
She has alchemy so she could probably change her gender at will.
I like Ryza and Klaudia but Lila looks off. Maybe with alternate costumes I'll like her more.
It has basically no impact outside of a handful of event scenes and your choice of atelier music in E&L. Don't know about Shallie.
Then I’d shake the hand of the doctor that made this and still marry her.
Totori is the cutest and sexiest and most endearing girl in the franchise.
She’s a slut
Yeah but she's cuter in Meruru's game
I agree.
>Rorona looked the best in Totori's game
>Totori looked the best in Meruru's game
>Meruru looked the best in Lulua's game
What do they mean by this
Old hags > teenagers
It's the stupid fundoshi and thigh cutouts, if they fixed those she'd look way better.
Is it possible to 100% Rorona without NG+?
>not liking milf Rorona in Lulua's game
Her model's face is really bad.
Atelier Shallie was the last Atelier I played. I didn't like it. Mysterious series is apparently bad.
I want to play Lulua and Ryza though. Just don't have time right now. Fuck I wish I was a NEET again.
>Atelier Dusk Trilogy
Yuck. Arland or death.
user, if you're going to skip the Mysterious series, I'd skip Lulua too because it plays like Mysterious 4. I'd try Sophie before writing it off though. It isn't as bad as people say.
you sound like a true fan™ of the series
That is some seriously tight underwear.
Well, she hasn't changed them since she was 12.
I decided to man the fuck up and finish Rorona Plus, but I genuinely don't know if I have the willpower to play through any of the other games. It was a good time, but I feel like near the end I was just trying to get to finish it already. Also, I think the game gave me some serious shoujo tendencies, because I started shipping Rorona and Iksel.
Totori looks a lot cuter than Rorona, so that's something if I really do feel like playing the next game.
Imagine the smell
Aw hell i fucking love Atelier Shallie! Especially when using Shallie, though Shallie's battle theme is a lot better but you can always change it i guess, legit one of the best friendship i've seen in a game and the synthesis is so fun
Totori feels a lot different than Rorona. You don't have regular assignment, just a bunch of objectives with tons of time to do it.
Also Totori gets mostly shipped with a girl if you're into that, it's one of the most yuribait game in the series.
I also had an okay time with Rorona but got really burned out torwards the end and started rushing like crazy. Trust me Totori is a far much better, when i finished Totori i almost wanted to start it again right away and still didn't finish Meruru because still thinking too much about Totori
People complain about Totori not being as polished but I still like it more because I think its game structure is better than Rorona. Totori gives you bigger chunks of time and only tasks you with meeting a point threshold when that time is up, and how you meet that point threshold is up to you in which challenges you choose to clear and when, so it gives you more freedom than Rorona. And the world map also lets you actually plan out routes and it's the only game in the Arland trilogy where food items are actually useful because of the LP stat.
And of course Totori has the best story in the trilogy.
Totori is rough around the edges but it's by no means a bad game.
Pace yourself and take a break. My friend burnt himself out on the Arland trilogy and now I can't get him to play anything else in the series.
How much does the game change between the protagonists?
Thread theme! Get your thread themes here! youtube.com
Totori managed to have open world gameplay without actually having an open world
Despite how I feel about her game, Totori is probably my favorite protagonist. Her design is just ridiculously cute and she goes through a surprising amount of growth during the game.
Mechanics wise nothing outside of your chosen character getting a exclusive skill later on, storywise they get some different events and quests, especially i the beginning and in the middle when they're not together, it's really just a matter of "which one do you want to spend the most time with"
Arland has the best girls
Dusk has the best guys
If KT really wanted Dusk DX to sell they'd add in an ending for best boy
Is worth playing twice?
>Best friends are a strong knight with shoujo-manga good looks and a beautiful maid.
Lias has a dumb hairstyle and Keina's hair is too short
Eventually if you like it, but not back to back, you get most of what the game has to offer in a regular playthrough and no time limit means you got all the time in the world for the post game
>she goes through a surprising amount of growth during the game.
Not even a Totorifag, but her growth during the game was magnificent. Thinking back on it made me very excited to see her in Meruru and then again later when I played Lulua.
>Dusk has the best guys
Only in Ayesha. Escha & Logy only had Logy and Solle, and Shallie had no good dudes that weren't carried over.
>Best friends are a strong knight with shoujo-manga good looks
I literally don't even remember what the fuck his storyline was. At least Gino's was a simple "I want to be a strong adventurer" and he got his ass beat by Sterk. Lias is just forgettable.
user please.
>Play Nelke
>Totori's entire character is just reduced to "she's the demure and sensible one of the trio"
I don't remember him either but I think that's partly because Meruru had so many characters and you'd miss their events if you didn't use them in your party.
Download Arland DX right now on PS4. Do I use a guide for 100% or just play the game blind and use a guide on a second playthrough/NG+
Depends on how much time you are willing to spend. Meruru requires an NG+ if you want to 100% it, though.
Play blind then use a guide after if you want to clear out everything or get the plat.
>Shallie DX will have a new epilogue and we'll get Dusk 4 in a year or two to finally conclude the series
Thought it was a bit strange how you didn't learn anything in Shallie or make something that begins to regenerate the world (though that would go against the setting a bit)
>to finally conclude the series
You mean have the dusk completely take over the world so everyone dies?
It's better to play blind first and then do 100% in NG+ with a guide. A big part of these games is dialogue so a NG+ run should be a lot faster than the first blind run
fuck you i love that game
Dusk 4: The Original TV Anime
He got cucked by Logy.
Oh, nice. I'll pick Ayesha and play the other two if I like it. I'm a lolifag but the Arland trilogy didn't look too appealing
There aren't any real lolis in Ayesha (one of the girl is 13 but she's tall enough to pass as a 15/16) but the sequel has two lolis (One of them is 14 but she looks 10)
It runs well on my 6 years-old laptop.
>just watch those on YouTube
good luck finding one on youtube that isn't the godawful dub.
I meant playable ones.
That makes me think though, it would be fun to have a brown Atelier protagonist.
Oh, I meant that I didn't pick the Arland trilogy even with the young protagonists, if there are lolis in this trilogy that's just a bonus, Ayesha looks super cute anyway
I'll probably wait for a sale, but if there's a physical Switch release I'll buy it day one
What didn't appeal to you about Arland? I think it does have the best lolis, although the series in general has a lot of lolis and petite women.
The characters and art looks great, but I kept hearing about the strict time limits and I just never pulled the trigger. I haven't researched much yet but iirc they changed it a bit in this trilogy
The in game graphics looked weird too, very low budget, so the asking price was a little high
Can’t wait for Ryza to save this series from the pedos.
The time limits are not strict. They're there to pace the game.
The time limits aren't very strict, also Ayesha and Escha have them too
*blocks your path*
That character is ugly so no one will want to fuck it
I hope they do a better job with the ports. At least proper 4k support.
It's KT user, don't hold your breath.
>Ryza gets the shota dicking
You're telling me that the Atelier series doesn't start with Atelier Ryza?
>>Fuck Ryza.
I would love to
I think he's cute.
Hidari is so good, he should work on more games. I'm still mad they replaced him on Tree Houses
Seethe more /u/ fags. Totori's fishy cunt is the sole property of Gino Knab.
Ayesha dub is unlistenable.
You didn't play Lulua?
Did nobody here play Shallie+?
It's funny, at that point Ayesha is some kind of legendary Alchemist that Central wants dead. In her interactions with Keith, he's pretty much become her whipped grandpa bitch. And mind you, this is the bitter old faggot that hates everything and every one. It was honestly kind of cute how he acts like this hard ass towards everything but then suddenly turns into some kind of tsundere doting grandpa when he talks about his apprentice. And to that date, Ayesha was still the only Alchemist he truly acknowledged.
Ayesha is the only Atelier protagonist whom you really feels like she earned her legendary status in the sequels. Like holy shit, she fucking turned the Final Boss of her own game into her personal summon/ultimate attack in the sequels.
Can't wait to see what this guy's special ability is.
>inb4 Gust isn't creative and it's just giant books falling from the sky instead of actual knowledge
Shallie+ actually cleared up a few things. It wasn't the end all solution, but thanks to Ayesha and Keith, they managed to alchemy some shit up that can unfuck the environment. It wasn't some miracle solution, but it was something that can make places somewhat more livable again. It built upon on the connection of the three games too since the breakthroughs they made were due to the help from the Cradle Alchemists.
It also hinted at some kind of Central Illuminati conspiracy since they noted that it was strange that Central specifically sent the "Alchemists of Dusk" (i.e. the Dusk Protagonists) into the frontier at the same time. And it implied that Keith and Ayesha eventually plan to raid Central next. But they never really went into depth regarding that since you know, no sequel.
Why is Rorona and Sterk in a bush stalking Totori?
Were Rorona and Sterk finally fucking by Lulua?
The ending for those two in Lulua is Rorona being a deadbeat mom fucking off Arland once more while Sterk abandons his knightly duties to join Rorona's travels as her personal sugar daddy/bodyguard.
tl;dr Yes.
They fuck off together to the Eastern Continent. By logic, Sterk should have pounded Rorona's pussy right then and there, but this is Atelier Arland we're talking about. We're talking about a game about Rorona's DAUGHTER that did NOT pop out as a result of Rorona fucking Sterk
>yfw the Eastern Continent is actually Ryza's island
Are Ateliers like 2hus where they die if they miss their silly hats/headpieces/ornaments?
No
No, it's more like they die if they lose their grip on friendship and hope. A corrupted alchemist might as well be no alchemist at all.
>eyes closed
>no movement
That's seems dead to me.
Super dead
What the, Totori's game looks way more zoomed in than Rorona's.
Manual zoom, don't remember if Rorona has it
The camera distance sometimes change in some areas
Extremely cute butt
Logy is hard carried by his seiyuu, japanese nero. His shouts in combat pure adrenaline.
*ahem* fuck barrels!
can you fix that disgusting aliasing?
Not with this shitty notebook i got for free for being a public servant
Why does this game look better than Arland?
Because it's newer?
Worked fine on my overclocked Vita.
>Fuck Ryza.
Don't mind if I do.
It's fucking wacky how Central plays such a huge role in every Dusk game, and yet we never actually fucking go there.
We will in the Dusk 4 game releasing in 2022
>best Atelier trilogy
Shallies combat system is a snooze fest. Even on hard, as long as you chained up you could win any fight and Ayesha is just overall boredom, didn't even replay for ultimate items.
I want to walk in on Totori in the changing room.
Why? There's nothing to see
Not him but I bet she has very cute nipples
This feels incredibly unnatural. I don't think I've ever seen her without it.
E&L was at least decent besides the atrocious translation job. Only good Mysterious game is Firis. Sophie had shit tier combat and stretched out plotline where you were never sure you were progressing with party members properly. Lydie and Suelle had half the party members paywalled and the dullest zones ever seen in an Atelier game.
SterkxRorona and MimixTotori are the best couples
C
I read that Gust didn’t plan anything about how Central would be like
Firis was dogshit with the atrocious backtracking and empty open areas. Easily the worst of the Mysterious trilogy
The only Atelier games without a time limit I've played was Sophia. Can you at least die in the other ones? When you die in Sophia you just lose "time" but there's no time limit so it doesn't fucking matter.
Shallie has game overs, though in some battles you trigger a event if you die
I've never died in a mandatory scene before. Lulua has a mandatory defeat scene that you continue after you become incapacitated.
Pretty sure you also lost some of your items if you died in Sophie
Ayesha is the best Atelier game, Eschatology is decent with breddy fun discount Mana Khemia combat, and Shallies isn't very good but has an incredible soundtrack.
>Fuck Ryza.
watch it, fucko.
L&S had dull real-world areas but the paintings were great. Much more interesting than the typical Atelier maps.
Pleb fucking taste. Firis is the best Atelier since Ayesha.
>Firis is the best Atelier
Oh no, here we go again.
Also doesn't matter since there's no time and you can just go gather more back
>Firis-hater is illiterate
Makes sense
PLAY LULUA NO ATORIE: ARLAND NO RENKINJITSUSHI FOUR!
Is it good?
If you enjoyed Mysterious, Lulua is right up your alley.
So it's more mysterious than arlandeous?
Yes. Alchemy is closer to Dusk/Mysterious than original Arland. Battle system is modified Lydie & Suelle. No time limits like Mysterious. Game is way more story-focused than previous Arlands.
Well Sophie's the only mysterious game i've played, didn't dislike it but didn't find it very special either, was kind of a shame not having skills again after the dusk games and the cauldron shit didn't help me get more invested in the synthesis, i did like the way you get new recipes and that every item has a comment made by the characters though
If it helps, I found that Lulua had a ton of soul, and the last chapter really turned things up to 11.
What certainly doesn't help are those prices jesus christ almighty did it not release on psn or something?
Shit nigger, what does the average vidya cost in umabux, 180?
180 to 200, i just bought Devil May Cry 5 a few days ago for 150, and if the game has a PSN release you can get some kind of second handed version for usually pretty cheap like 30 to 50. only found one Lulua offer for those PSN types and it's 100, so i just might go for it for i'm feeling super crazy with this new job i got and shit
