who the hell knows.
Kojima sure didn't
Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away. Do it when you can. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.
>legitimately though it was a Big Boss quote
>search up and found its from Sonic
>"Call me Big Boss"
one game later
>"Snake, once known as Big Boss"
Nothing Venom says in 5 makes any fucking sense.
Dispensing of his fellow soldiers who died in shitty circumstances to the sea didn't feel fitting to BiBo. Some would think of a burial at sea as cold and a last resort because you don't have an option to bury the dead elsewhere.
Make 'em into diamonds and carry them into the fight instead.
Fuck do you think it means retard? You cant just dump ashes of your comrades in to the sea and see them end as nothing. Are you a woman or something?
t. Jeremy Blaustein
kojima should've added a very subtle face difference and should've concealed the revelation truth as a secret/optional ending for maximum ruse effect.
God, I fucking love "it was X all along" plot twists.
I won't scatter your sorrow all over.
>We'll make diamonds from their ashes, then tack those diamonds to our armbands and it will never be mentioned again :)
>BiBo
Kill yourself
Gomenesorry. I mean VenSna
Reminder that Venom is automatically piece of shit, making him = BB for helping him carrying out his evil nuclear warmongering schemes

Venom only did nothing to stop him to avoid a fallout. Remember, this game takes place right when DD is just beginning and they got "Big Boss" back, catastrophes cannot happen, especially when it comes to business and management.
Had Miller not been on the watch, he would have went ahead with raising the kid niggers as child soldiers like he planned from the beginning.
kojima kept trying to do the "missing link" but kept forgetting that he already did it and ended up ironically never successfully doing it at all
Are you retarded?
It could be bait or that English classes are no longer having students study poetry .

But somehow isn't. OK.
And did you leave me anything?
You're the phantom of my past...
Do you expect me to last, this way?'
Is there even an actual difference between "Boss" and "Snake"?
For as I know only The Boss, Ocelot and Kaz care
Ground Zeroes treats them as if they were the same thing and so does TPP
yeah, disregard the part about continuously saving the world
Venom wasn't bad, and now there's no explanation for why BB went apeshit
>disregard the part about continuously saving the world
You have only seen him in two games. TPP and MG1.
You don't know what he did between 1985 and 1984. Now shut up with your fallacies.
>1985 and 1994*
oops
A man can change. There is no guarantee that a man stays the same forever.
Big Boss in 1975 wasn't the same man as Big Boss in 1995.
Venom in 1984 surely wasn't the same man as Venom in 1995.
You have to admit.
He is sad.
Jeremy did nothing wrong
It's almost as though MGSV was wasted potential and wasn't actually the "missing link" that Kojima promised.
Yeah, it's like he was some douche bag trying to larp as big boss
Doesn't justify the FACT that he helped BB carry out his evil nuclear warmongering schemes
That action matters more than anything else, one extremely heinous and immoral commitment will taint your history and perception forever
that's the fucking point, retard. 5 was supposed to show the downfall, and ended up showing nothing
It's like Kojima never cared about the MGS canon and just wanted to make bunch of games, that Konami kept forcing them to have the MGS label.
>Venom did terrible things! Yeah we never see them or actually figure out what exactly it was that Venom did, but he was EVIL
Kojima doesn't care about the story anymore. All he cared about since finishing 4 is "Snake going shooty tooty while succumbing to war sob stories". He doesn't even care what character Snake is anymore, because Big Boss is having anal sex with him right now.
You can say the same things for Big Boss between 1984 and 1995. Stop embellishing Venom.
>morale lost
>morale lost
>morale lost
Big fat retard
He wrote that stupid Symphony of the Night localization and acts so ridiculously proud of it. That's enough for me.
STOP NO STOP
You have all the evidence you need of Venom doing terrible things in MG1. Being involved in a military whose existence is a complete war crime.
Show, don't tell.
Samefag
He unironically made MGS1 good and the best aged game in the series
>even the small amount of decent parts in the game are still overshadowed by the sheer garbage the game was in total
Nothing but verbal masturbation. Anything truly profound usually doesn't come in overly dramatic poetic prose.
>it's perfectly okay to guess that BB entirely did bad things between TPP and MG1
>but if you do the same thing for Venom y-y-you're r-retarded!!!!1
>"M-m-m-muh better than BIbO!!!!!1"
Damage control
Never go full retard
Not an argument.
It isnt nerd
Glad to know that you're agreeing with me that Venom did terrible things. Let's move on then.
All he did was add a couple of one-liners in the English script. He exaggerates his additions and changes to the script to make himself seem more like a genius than he actually is.
Big Boss and Venom dindu nuffin actually, it was all a smear campaign by the patriots.
You don't know shit about BB building Outer Heaven because we instead got a game about a phony building up Mother Base 2.0
Shut up
"It feels nostalgic"
>だが親父は戦場で負傷、すでに不能者だった。
Official translation: But father was wounded in combat and already in a coma when they brought him in.
Actual translation: But father was wounded in combat and already sterile.
Guy made up a coma that wasn't mentioned in the Japanese script, which is why everyone mistakenly thought Big Boss was in two comas in the 1970's.
BB never "Went apeshit"
You people have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. BB was only ever a "villain" in the MG games. Even within the context of both of those games he was never truly "Evil". The point of those games was to paint a moral issue for snake BECAUSE BB wasn't evil. The whole point of the character is to paint the moral grey realm of a soldier who only knows how to fight striving to be more, NOT just some guy who eventually "goes apeshit". Posting that fucking dialouge from MG2 out of its context won't change that shit either. You morons were so desperate to have a character that was never meant to be a clearly cut bastard evildoer go full complete demon to play out your school edgy shooter fantasies that its embarassing. Now theres a split from the normal "Venom was the good guy BB still turned evil" retards into "No BOTH of them are evil cus venom helped the other evil guy!" retards.
This whole fucking franchise was lost on you shitheads.
Bunch of guys who benefiting from the war economy makes them good? Did you even pay attention to the dialogue in V? Like one of the first things Kaz tells you when you land in the African jungle is how others tried to emulate your MSF mercenary groups, which ultimately led to third world countries becoming war-torn and shit like children being trained to fill the soldier ranks. That's all because of Big Boss being a cool war mercenary badass.
>Venom did good things! Yeah we never see them or actually figure out what exactly it was that Venom did, but he was GOOD
Yes. Giving soldiers a home without political bullshit sending them to their death is cool, righteous and based.
>b-but muh nigger nations got turned into war-torn hellholes!
They'd end up shitholes anyways.
Big Boss wanted to send soldiers to their deaths all so that he could enjoy war.
Are you a retard or just playing one on Yea Forums? He literally saves the world from the parasites and sahelanthropous
You can't conquer the world if there isn't any of it left to conquer.
>He literally saves the world from the parasites and sahelanthropous
That's two things. Do you mind if I see your list? I hope it's not 99% empty.
Also,
>saving the world from a metal gear
>saving the world from a disaster
is something that Big Boss did already, before Venom even came along. You're not making any sort of point here.
>He saved the world from [thing]!
Things that BB did when he used to be a good boy. Are you trying to say that BB never did any of those things and was always evil?
The retard I'm replying to implied he didn't do good things, even though the entire point of the game is to save the entire world. What BB has done had nothing to do with it.
>MUH SOLDIERS
MGS has an anti-war message, and all Big Boss did was bring more war to the world. For him to feed his solders there needs to be a war. He never had a moral high ground. Venom Snake was even worse because he tried to rationalize Big Boss's stupid ideals as his own.
holy shit kojimadrones are beyond saving
It's just shit writing
It's like something someone learning about adjectives in primary school would write. I blame the translation though, it might not sound that shit in Japanese
>even though the entire point of the game is to save the entire world
Yes, but that's only two good things. A man doing two good things in his whole life is enough to say that said man had done nothing good at all.
They were soldiers user, they were born to fight and die. Politics is only manipulation.
Nah venom wanted the child soldiers to have a life away from the battlefield too
>character did 2-3 good things in game
>this means that he/she entirely did good things afterwards despite how we don't know if that's even true
DAMAGE CONTROL
DAMAGE CONTROL
What part of
>"I'm thinking that he's tougher than he looks."
>"A little training, he'll make himself useful."
went over your head.
What's a bit ambiguous though (proving none of our points) is that he didn't object or agree with Miller on his idea, he just said nothing at all
Then again Venom is a lifeless mute
The franchise was just poorly handled after 4. That's all it is, it can rest now
>war is bad
this is why kojima is a hack
ludo
They were people, you fucking moron? What's wrong with your brain, do you have a brain infection or something? What kind of fatalist viewpoint is that? You were born as a soldier, so you should't question your existence? What the fuck, my dude? Just stop posting.
>huh huh guns jesus beer and NASCAR hooah god bless America
Please drink boiling bleach.
>get one of the best stealth games ever made
>poorly handled
the only thing thats poorly handled is your judgement
>they were born to fight and die.
That's manipulation.
No, that's destiny.
No John, you are the demons.
Even worse. It was like some autistic kid doing an impression during lunch at school.
>Venom did good things! Yeah we only see him do about 5 ever but he was GOOD
what about all the animals he saved from the warzone
5 has cool gameplay but the story is poorly handled and the game as a whole is poorly handled, what with it not being finished, having two maps, repetetitive as fuck gameplay etc.
Creating a private zoo in the middle of the ocean was only for money. Then they used the cash from the NGO to expand the operations of their violent mercenary cult.
>Venom did good things! Yeah we only see him do about 5 ever but he was GOOD
>Venom did terrible things! Yeah we only see him do about 1 ever but he was EVIL
Shut up, all of you. You're all incompetent. Given what we know, Venom is neither good or evil.
>You're all incompetent
stfu JD
MGSV has a great story about revenge inspired by Moby Dick, fucking autists wanted Gray Fox, Sniper Wolf and Solid Snake + muh Big Boss downfall where he shoots children in a cave. You dont know shit, also game isnt unfinished by any means. Only things missing are: Chico side op where you kill him, battlegear tank and one DLC scraped early during development.
>Shut up, all of you. You're all incompetent.
PINGAS
Would have been cool if you could actually select the diamond ammo and it turns out to be the strongest then you have a moral dilemma of deciding if you should kill your men to make the best ammo in the game
Doesn't count, that was to fulfill a contract.
The game is absolutely unfinished. How do you make a game that's all about defeating Cipher and then not have you defeat cipher and the plot just gets dropped entirely. the second half of the missions are literally repeats of the old ones with modifiers slapped on. Delusional as fuck
A metaphor for posting in Yea Forums
Being complicit with firing a nuke with a highly dangerous robot (TX-55) at all costs is enough to make you evil, user. Venom is evil and MG1 shows, get over it.
>Game lets you be a saint and spare every life
LOL UR A DEMON NOW
>How do you make a game that's all about defeating Cipher
Jesus, you dont understand the game at all, just stop talking idiot
>DLC scrapped early during development
Talking about the script leaks? KOTF was being worked on as late as 2015, dude.
Also like Quiet, you could recruit Chico, not just kill him
>Game lets you be a saint and spare every life
Like every other typical shooter game with a pacifist route, a la every single Metal fucking Gear? Also,
>Shining Lights
You can't spare every life in MGSV, retard.
What are you implying?
he's an idiot
Great argument. I have evidence for my claim where all you can you is that I'm dumb. The whole plot of mgsv is getting diamond dogs strong enough to take on cipher and it never happens. I'm not dumb for wanting the main conflict of the game to be resolved
Metal Gear games always have pacifist routes
Forcing you without an option for one for V would break Metal Gear tradition
Once again, the Metal Gear games were never about Big Boss, they were always about "Snake sneakily sneaking and going rooty tooty shooty (or not at all if seriously want)"
>Once again, the Metal Gear games were never about Big Boss, they were always about "Snake sneakily sneaking and going rooty tooty shooty (or not at all if seriously want)"
THEN WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE FUCKING STORY
YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT
MGSV isnt about getting Cipher at all, its the exact opposite. Its about being driven mad by revenge, losing your identity and in the end its not worth it, because the phantom pain is still there, it feels unresolved. I just cant believe you are getting pleb filtered all these years later.
Ok cool, that's the meta analysis of the game. But what are the actual characters in the game trying to do throughout the game? What does miller mention literally every single mission? Good job boss, that (upgrade for motherbase) you just acquired is really going to help us take down cipher. you're being pretentious
MGSV is the literal opposite of what MGS stands for
The revenge story we were promised is actually a story about nothing
The game we got was nothing like the trailers
The Big Boss we got is not the Big Boss we know
The shadow manipulator in this game (that every Metal Gear must have) is actually a nice guy to Ven-- oh, I'm sorry, I meant "the player" instead of being a dickbag like every other shadow manipulator MGS
V sucks, case closed
Oh, also, the end of credits conversation leads NOWHERE
Pretentious is something people say when they dont understand and dont want to feel stupid, thats their defense. Miller desperately wants to get Cipher, he blames him for everything, thats him being driven mad by revenge, thats all he talks about. This is the enemy right here on his knees etc etc. For fucks sake even fucking Volgin is so mad and driven by revenge that when he finds out he was hunting down the wrong snake he just drops and dies. Cmon now, it was never about getting to Cipher, he is there as a plot device.
>kill and torture countless soldiers just doing their jobs
>game considers you a true hero
>create one nuke that is never used
>game considers you satan, gives you satan’s horns and paints you in the blood of the 0 people you have killed making your nuke
You can really tell that this game is Japanese
if the plot isn't about getting to cipher, tell me what venom is trying to achieve. You keep avoiding telling me what the story of the game is and why anyone is even doing anything
Venom and Big Boss are the villains in MG1 because they're shown as so, doing villainous things.
Venom is evil.
Its there as a motivation, but its not the focus. Cipher is the thing that drives Skullface, Big Boss, Miller and everyone mad. If getting him was the focus of the story, believe me it would be there, because the story was finished in 2013. As I said, its a plot device, but the focus is seeing everyone go mad, lose their identity, words can kill you know the drill. Its like a character study, but I admit that is starting to sound pretentious. The main theme is phantom pain, feeling that something is missing, something you cant resolve or ever get back. Its in the title goddamit.
>Solidus is the villain in MGS2 despite not being evil
Great thinking there retard
>Solidus
>not evil
Are.... you.... retarded?
>Solidus isn't evil
These are the people that think that Venom was never evil.
These people are probably /pol/acks
These people probably have GZ as their first MGS game
I'm horrified about the future
>Solidus
>not being evil
OK
Samefag
Either way Solidus is evil, and you are dumb as fuck not realize
It means he will carry the burden of their deaths for the rest of his life. It's one of the best moments in MGS and if you don't get it you're probably too young to play those games.
>NOOOOO USING AN EMP BOMB TO KILL THE EVIL AI MAKES YOU EVIL NOOO
Why though? EMP won't kill a lot of people. More people died because he was stopped and the events of 4 happened.
A man's burden is to carry his sins.
MGS4 retconned it so that Outer Heaven/Zanzibar was his attempts to fight the Patriots anyway. Metal Gear 1/2 are more retcon then continuity.
Solidus wasn't evil. Even in MGS4 they say everything Solidus feared has come to pass.
Unironically the point when he becomes a demon and the fact that so many brainlets ITT don't understand it is bizarre. He tells his dead comrades to plant roots in his own soul and he's planning to devote the rest of his life to fulfill their collective dream of outer heaven. If he doesn't do that, their deaths are in vain.
Burial at sea is about as good as sweeping an existence under the rug, so he made a statement to turn them into gems to immortalize their memory. It's not deep at all, just a good moment.
Big fucking retard
can you seriously just manufacture diamonds on a whim like he said? I thought that shit took millions of years to form in very specific temperature and pressure environments
are you retarded, my man? The story of the game is dudes getting assfucked and wanting revenge endlessly, while the guy you play as is struggling to figure out who the fuck he is and what hes doing, but taking his best go at it while everyone around him pulls him in the direction they think is best. Kaz just wants to wipe cipher off the map, ocelot is just trying to keep you on course to stall for the real big boss, code talker is just using you for safety, quiet seems to be the only person that actually cares about venom genuinely, huey is doing anything he can to survive, etc etc. The game is about trying to reclaim the glory days of peace walker, but it's never coming back because everyones broken and hollow. It's the complete antithesis to peace walker.
You guys love to spout how shit this game is but half of you are too stupid to even understand basic high school level themes, it's embarrassing having to explain this basic ass game to someone who is too retarded to even understand the thing they're trying to criticize
Diamonds are significantly less rare then De Beers wants you to believe. Can't say if MGSV is accurate but it's Metal Gear, Rising took place last year and the tech looks a century more advanced.
Nah, you can actually make synthetic diamonds. They're easy to spot though because they don't have the natural flaws and such that natural diamonds have.
>What's wrong with it
>IT'S TOO GOOD
I don't get it.
Synthetic diamonds are soulless
There's fake diamonds that are of the same quality. Anyone that buys real diamonds at market price is a fucking idiot considering how unrare they are anyways
Do other gemstones have the same "issues" when lab grown? The Sonic fag in me kinda wants to order a big emerald at one point.
>real diamond
>random natural occurrence that happens to look cute and shity
>fake diamonds
>made by real people the product of million of years of evolution and natural selection and hundred of years of engineering knowledge
shiny*
SOUL vs. SOULLESS
It means he's not going to have the story of all those people lost end as a bunch of ashes dumped into the fucking ocean. Hence why they turned them into diamonds
It's not that complicated, user.
I bet you think Ocelot was evil too.
Ocelot in MGS1 was evil despite everything
Ocelot in MGS2 was evil despite everything
Ocelot in MGS4 was evil despite everything
MGSV is MGS2 all over again
Kojimbo is a misunderstood genius.
"Snake" represented his ideals and his innocence from the way the Boss had a life
Once everything turned into shit in Peace Walker, he decided to adopt the moniker of "Big Boss"
I hate all of you. I cant read this thread without getting a brain aneurism
You see, retard, he's called Snake in Ground Zeroes too. "Snake" means fucking nothing but the guy that sneaks and does rooty tooty shooting stuff, stop being deep.
>Still goes by Snake in GZ
Snake is nothing more than a field name, it has nothing to do with The Boss
Sorry if you thought otherwise, MG is not really as deep as it seems, and we all have to realize that at some point.
>'Once everything turned into shit in Peace Walker, he decided to adopt the moniker of "Big Boss"'
>and still went by Snake one game after PW
For fucks sake, Snake means the protagonist of Metal Gear as a whole, Boss means the final guy that "Snake" fights in every Metal Gear game
>We are not kind of people
>Won`t be cast as demons
>Creatures you despise
youtube.com
>The feeling that the game is unfinished is the real phantom pain
>Durrr kojima wrote a song from 2012
Wrong. All wrong.
Snake when it comes to BB is just a marketing gimmick devised by Kojima to get fools to playing Metal Gear games where BB is the protagonist.
They were cremated after big boss fucked up their faces when they got the parasite
He doesn't want to spread their sorrow(ash) into the sea (the ocean does not have the organ known as a heart so that's why it's called the heartless sea)
GZ proves your logic ineffective, Snake nothing but the MC
If Sonic were a MG protagonist, he would be called "Snake" or "Speedy Snake" despite that his name is, well, Sonic the fucking Hedgehog
and as an NPC, he would be called "Sonic the Hedgehog"
Metal Gear was better when there was no Patriots, Solid Snake wasn't a clone of Big Boss and Big Boss was simply a cold, mischievous, psychopath crook who for his whole life wanted to take over the world solely to jerk off to his fame and most importantly fulfill his lust for war and love for being valued.
He accepted responsibility for their deaths. took them onto himself rather than bury and forget
I dunno user, I was cool with snake being a clone, and the Patriots being a shadow organization of power hungry dudes wanting to control the flow of information, but once everything had to be fit into a nice neat little box, where everything is tied to the boss and big boss, it all became shit. Once 3 starts implying sigint is gonna go to darpa and paramedic is fascinated with cloning research it all went downhill and put the whole universe of the series in this 12-15 person bubble
I like it when BB does villainous stuff while dressing up like a sandnigger and wearing a ponytail
He belongs in the extreme wilderness of the battlefield
>snake
>snaek
>sneak
Woah
Did Big Boss and The Boss ever fuck
>There can be only one final boss fight
>and one main character.
Video game logic. That's what The Boss is actually saying. In the end of MGS4, the only final boss that exists is Big Boss (because Solid and Raiden already took down the other final boss fights, Liquid and Solidus) and the only main character that exists is Solid Snake.
He’s called Naked Snake because he goes on missions with little to know equipment and crawls along on the ground and stabs people in the feet
Then why is he called Snake in GZ with fully equipped gear?
Fucking retard, you never played Ground Zeroes at all.
Because it’s his code name
He's not called naked snake in gz you cockhead. He's just snake.
Why do people still call Sniper Wolf Sniper Wolf when she isn’t sniping?
>MGS3 originally had Big Boss being very cold
In an alternate timeline where Big Boss was always an asshole, from the very beginning...
Would you have wanted it?
>This is your fault Snake, your a MURDER!
It would make him more interesting, especially if at the very end when he was fighting The Boss he like broke down and started crying or something it would be kino
Shut up, Dad, I’m gonna go get molested by mom now
>MGS3 originally had Big Boss being very cold
Proof? I don't believe anything I read in mgs threads anymore. This series is notorious for having posters that just make shit up out of literally nowhere
He won't scatter the ashes of his comrades into the ocean, simply to forget them as they are swallowed by the endless abyss of the sea. He turns their ashes into diamonds, so that every soldier will be remembered and kept with them.
As a more thematic meaning, it's meant to show that Venom isn't willing to move on. He has a lust for revenge, but like all emotions, they may eventually fade, be forgotten, scattered. But Venom will keep those who died with him instead of letting them rest, so that he will always have something to keep his memories fresh and his drive strong. It also ties into the more general theme of Phantom Pain, being a pain caused by something that is no longer there, that drives you to try and lash out to end the pain.
What's hard to understand?
The ocean is a giant body of water host to probably billions of corpses, what does it care about the ashes of a few more.
Instead of giving it to the sea they'll carry the ashes of their comrades with them not only as a way of remembrance but also as spiritual companions.
Also wearing a diamond on your insignia is cool branding.
It's very easy to understand.
It shows his downfall by having him go along with the Phantom plan even though he was in a coma and XOF was about to destroy the world. It's fucking dumb and no the gameplay was not groundbreaking considering how empty it is and the guards don't really have different levels of A.I or aggression like the first few games did with the standard grunts vs assault grunts, etc
>"Snake" means fucking nothing but the guy that sneaks and does rooty tooty shooting stuff, stop being deep.
I don't recall anybody calling Venom "Snake", most call him boss or ahab.
> He missed the whole metagame of messing with supply lines and how his tactics in field changed the guards equipment to dynamically counter the player
the full quote is;
>I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea. I will always be with you. Plant your roots in me. I won't see you end as ashes. You're all diamonds.
He's a warlord/cult-leader speaking poetically about his feelings towards his followers/soldiers, and his plan to institute unique burial ritual wherein he has their cremated remains transformed into memorial diamonds, rather than scattered at sea. en.wikipedia.org
Huey calls him Snake when you reunite with him.
> Missing the whole point of MGS themes
People don't seem to understand. There is no one who can be called "evil" in the MGS games. The only entity that can be defined as evil is the Patriot system, because it erased humanity from itself in order to accomplish it's goals. To be human is to have good and evil within yourself, and to be the product of the interplay between those forces within you, as well as the interplay between you and others who face the same struggle.
Skullface is evil.
Cameras and helmets are a lot different than changing weapons and the tactics and aggression levels like MGS2 and 3 did.
Volgin and Skullface are pretty evil. So is Vamp
No he actually wasn't. He was trying to bring his own warped version of peace. The entire point is nobody in these games is inherently evil, they all were doing crazy shit for what they thought were the right reasons.
Yeah volgin and vamp seemed pretty fucking evil, I won't even disagree with that.
Skullface wasnt evil, he was a victim of war and was forced to give up his identity, just like Venom. Thats why he wanted to use the parasite and make the world speak language of nukes instead.
Skullface is a literal zombie, not really human.
Volgin fought because he wanted to create a world where his people were secure. He fought for his country and his father's legacy. Was he wrong? To us, of course, but I'm sure his countrymen would have trouble finding fault in his goal. And Skullface believed that what he was doing would bring peace to the world. He saw language and the barriers between people languages create, and believed that if he could control that, he could force people to come together. Was it foolish, yes, but he did believe he was good.
Even Vamp fought for Solidus' vision to free human kind from control of the Patriot system.
No one believed they were evil when they acted. They misunderstood the world and others, which led them to flawed conclusions. But no human can be evil if they believe they are working to save others. What is evil is not humanity, but systems created by humans, that outlive their intention and drive humans to hurt each other.
>a mega-genocidal plan isn't evil
>victims can't be evil
>only humans can be evil
>Miller: Where is Snake?! - in a tape
>Huey: Snake? - meeting up with him
>Huey: He's the traitor, Snake!
>Ocelot: Stand and fight, Snake!! - during Sahelanthropus battle
>Miller: Snake! - Before he grabs Miller's hand, somewhere in Sahelanthropus battle
>Miller: Snake! Are you just gonna let the contagion spread?!
>Miller: Shoot Snake! If you don't, we'll have to torch the place! - Shining Lights
>Miller: Shoot, Snake! - Shining Lights
>Huey: You're insane, Snake! He was one of your men!
>Ocelot: Here Snake, try this on. - When gives him the prosthetic
>Miller: Snake, do you remember Amanda?
>Miller: Snake, I don't think I need to say this, but do not harm those kids.
There's tons of instances.
I guess this depends on your definition of evil. I don't think people are evil, everyone has a reason for doing something, regardless of whether I think it's right or not, something causes it. Skullface is someone that's doing what he's doing because the implications are that s super power (the nazis) destroyed his entire village and killed everyone and left him the way he is, so now to stop it he's gonna level the playing field by stopping America from taking over and in the future stop any other super power from being created. It stems from fear and revenge. From the perspective of the NPCs in the game, wouldn't venom and diamond dogs be evil?
Boss and Snake mean the same thing to Kojima and the rest of V's scriptwriters according to the script leak, no one gives a fucking shit. They use Snake and Boss interchangeably, as long as they're not mentioning Solid Snake.
Example from said leak, when it describes the "Report to Big Boss: Zero Has Been Attacked" tape
>ボスを守る者はいなくなった。
>Translates to "There is no one to protect the boss."
Few comments afterwards
>これはスネーク、アバタースネークがこん睡状態にあった間の出来事だが、オセロットはいつスネークが目覚めてもいいように、逐次状況を報告していた
>This was the case while Snake and Avatar Snake were in a coma, but Ocelot was reporting the situation sequentially so that the Snakes could wake up at any time.
Who cares, players either won't notice or come up with an explanation. As long as you're writing fiction, you're free to hack away.
>As long as you're writing fiction
Why do you say that?
Daily reminder: Metal Gear SOLID is a trilogy
4-PO-PW-V aren't canon because I said so
He doesn't want to but his friend threw anymore hell.
is that a fucking sonic curry reference
Yes but no, but yes and no.
I intentionally tried to fool others into thinking that was a Big Boss quote. Plus, it actually comes from Sonic 1's Japanese box...
do you watch mechagamezilla by any chance
No... who is that?
oh god oh fuck big boss dont fall off mother base oh fuck he cant see he's wearing two eyepatches he cant see oh god oh fuck
It's hard to draw any definite conclusions about MGSV because the game is half-finished. All the "endings" you get are there to mask the fact Kojima was barely halfway through the story.
He had a hard-on for Moby Dick to the point that you could match up the chapters of the books with the missions.
One of these days Kojima will open up and say what the hell MGSV was supposed to be, barring any Konami lawsuit.
Thats a lie, the themes were all in place in 2011, the story was finished in 2013.
Big Boss is too autistic to understand how burial works
He wanted to not abandon his men, even their ashes, and throw them into the sea. By turning them into diamonds he wanted to show that they're all of high value to him, even in death.
By "story" you mean what he had on paper?
Which Big Boss is more autistic, Naked or Venom?
Kojimba just read Moby-Dick, that's it.
The story is all there, it wasnt what people imagined so they made up all these lies for years that there were suppoused to be five chapters and this and that, its all a lie and now people can finally see that when the script of MGSV leaked. People even believed the Demon Edition "leak", this shows how stupid and easily manipulated they are. Game is literally called The Phantom Pain and some people still dont get it.
