What are your hopes for this game?
What are your hopes for this game?
I hope I am not forced to play as a cripple with prosthetic shit.
oooooooooooh
faster paced combat akin to bloodborne, and not in a bland 16th centry Sengoku setting
>inb4 i get absolutely ass-blasted
fun
More bloodborne less souls
That it has the tight gameplay of bloodborne/sekiro and the customization of dark souls. That the (((open world))) meme doesn’t fuck it up.
So just sekiro but with different settings?
>What are your hopes for this game?
>made by 2 known hacks
None at all
another masterpiece
Dark Souls meets BOTW
combat where you use multiple different moves as a response to whatever your opponent is doing, much like sekiro partially managed. Dark souls was basically just roll and attack whatever, then sekiro was avoid in 3 different ways and attack whatever, this should be avoid and attack on several different ways. It doesn't have to be super fast paced, and actually it would be a bit nice if it wasn't, but the movesets should be appropriately complicated.
also dark souls had this problem that when you discovered something, you either wanted to use it or you didn't, like if you didn't feel like swapping out your halberd for an axe or couldn't equip it, that discovery was actually completely irrelevant, while sekiro obviously almost only dropped trash for you. They should instead feed you something that adds something without taking anything away, like if every weapon had an upgrade tree that granted it different abilities or moves or additional stats, and you discovered a lot of upgrade points instead of a shitload of different weapons. Of course you'd have weapon drops as well. It would also be nice with armor that had special effects instead of just being a pile of stats for almost every item.
and they should have a unique art design or subject matter, because so far it just looks like it could be dark souls 4
>combat where you use multiple different moves as a response to whatever your opponent is doing
like having different stances?
Oooooooooooooooooh elden ring
I hope it doesn't suck.
really bad writing thanks to Martin
>still seething
kek Mutt Souls tears will never stop being delicious.
I just want a well designed world with good exploration and loot. Everything else is dressing.
I wanted Sekiro part Deux but fuck it. I just hope it's as good as Sekiro in terms of gameplay and absolutely nothing like Bloodborne/Dark/DemonSouls.
I hope it will kick my ass just as much as BB and Sekiro did the first time. I just wonder what they can still bring to the table after so many near perfect games.
fun
lots of options for character building, good schools of magic that are all viable
multiplayer that isn't weird or lame
NO SWAMPS
good world that's more like DaS 1 or 2 where you could mostly decide where you wanted to go and hunt for items/whatever
if we're Sekiro levels of mobile then I hope it's balanced for MP, and since riding horses is confirmed give me other weird mounts to ride
like, I want to annoy whoever summons me by coming in with a donkey or turtle that can't keep up with the group
I don't know, I guess. As it is the attacks mostly have to do with timing or aoe, instead of some sort of fighting-game esque counter system. Like if you can counter high sweeps with low dashes, or attempted shield blocks by transitioning your attack into a kick instead
plus rolling shouldn't be used so much, it's such a overdramatic move for it to be your main method of evasion in a game about knights
>after so many near perfect games.
I hope they make sekiro 2
I want a deep exploration of Irish mythology, like fucking up fomorians and shit.
Besides SMT I don't know any game that has it, so it'll be interesting
sup afro
Not everything needs a sequel.
>combat where you use multiple different moves as a response to whatever your opponent is doing, much like sekiro partially managed
How would it work with multiple builds like sword n board, 2h weapon, mage, archer etc.? Sekiro's combat was only possible because of one weapon
>I just hope it's as good as Sekiro in terms of gameplay and absolutely nothing like Bloodborne/Dark/DemonSouls
Miyazaki said it'll focus more on RPG aspects than action.
Give different weapons the same basic moves but at different efficiency and different style, and/or don't make it about mandatory responses but just more effective playing? It wouldn't be easy though.
>here's the art direction of your "brand new" IP bro!
OOOOOOOOHHH
What earlier Fromsoft games are worth playing? I'm already into AC, what about Kings Field and shit?
This is original fantasy world created by GRRM, not God of War real life mythology stuff
I want them to make another game like Dark Souls 1 with a focus on a huge sprawling world, with unique levels (Sen's Fortress, Tomb of the Giants, The Great Hollow, etc.) and no fast travel. I also want the more slow paced combat that allows for a wide variety of playstyles.
But, since this is nu-From we're probably going to get more watered down garbage like Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro.
Please no phantom co-op, I want jpurnos and normies to seeth like they did with sekiro
I thought they said this was Irish mythology. Did they scrap that idea?
sekiro has a bunch of glaring flaws though, and plenty of room for changes in plot and setting if you go with rice loli ending, so it deserves a sequel
I'll give you a hint: There's a reason no one cared about From until Demon's Souls.
I hope they use the Sekiro combat mechanics
I want a mix of Bloodborne/DaS3 combat and DaS1 level worldbuilding.
But I can't imagine such a world design working with the open world meme.
I hope the open world will over tons and tons of different weapons, fashions and schools of spells.
>I want a mix of Bloodborne/DaS3 combat
Nothing was stated officially, it's all rumors. People were talking about Celtic mythology being possible because Miyazaki kinda used similar themes in Deracine
Then there's also confirmed leaker hinting at stuff like "UK" and "Scotland". Could mean the setting, could mean the voice actors from Souls and Bloodborne being involved
No, I meant dash dash dash
Bloodborne dodges are pure kino
That they don't make the same game for the 5th time.
>fast combat with the balancing consistency of differing builds from DS2
>completed areas in the second half
>open world like DS1 where areas will naturally loop back and many walkthroughs start and diverge differently
Asking too much but at least one of these things would make it worth buying
Mixture of sekiro and bloodborne. Norse mythology is kinda meh but it could probably work
Yeah, not to mention all the hints to Lady Tomoe being alive. I'm surprised they never released DLC for Sekiro.
Man it's only been 6 months.
>I'm surprised From released a finished game
Me too.
Sekiro was just filler for Elden Ring, it doesn't need DLC, they should just work on sekiro 2 when done with elden ring.
Atleast let it be slower paced, had enough of havel ballerinas 3
>havel ballerinas 3
Kek
I want them to reduce the hit stun for straight swords, or increase the stamina requirement to swing them.
I want them to maybe include some sort of reward for not summoning people to walk you through the entire game.
Either that, or implementing some way to fuck over people that do that. NPC merchants dying, bosses being more aggressive, or having "dark world tendancy" enemies show up more often, or even during boss fights.
The problem with new weapons in DS/BB is that they're shit until you upgrade them to the level your current one is at. This encourages replayability, but most people won't touch the incredible stack of weapons you've included. They don't have the upgrade materials, and don't want to grind for them. A potentially amazing weapon gets memory holed while you soldier on with your straight sword +8.
a dark souls game without linearity and no remember muh souls1?
or a huge game with a new lore, huge areas and no development hell.
nothing because i dont want it, souls games ran its course and needs to die
It's not a Souls game, it's a Ring game.
Dark Souls tried to be a mix of RPG and action without compromising on either part. It managed really well, but when they created Sekiro, which focused mainly on action, it was clearly far better. So I'm hoping for a great RPG with maybe a bit less action.
Dark Souls, assuming you mean the first one, is infinitely better than Sekiro, though.
Freaky ass Kelpie battle in a decayed swamp
I meant to say that Sekiro managed to be much better at moment-to-moment action. As an overall game, Dark Souls does do a lot of other stuff better. But mostly because Sekiro wasn't actually trying to do those things well at all.
Turnbased
Not even shit posting but I just want it to be Dark Souls 4 or better yet Dark Souls 2 2
I want weapons, moves and spells that are worth considering for a number of reasons over the other almost similar to endgame DS2. Like, if I want a weapon thats paired to inflict dangerous ailments like fast poison then double mythra daggers would be worth using or if I want a hyperarmor-on-demand that's slow but strong with good tracking then I'll pick a Crypt Blacksword and give my guy more hexes for range. If I want something tricky to use as magic then I'll make a pyromancer who can set up lingering flame for traps or bait rolls to make people run into fire whip and etc. A number of good weapons and spells to use depending on what you want to do that's worth considering over the other weapons. There could be a straight sword you find that's usable through the whole game but so long as there are other weapons that can out-damage/range/speed it then you would prefer the others instead of sticking to one usable thing while the other items are dusting in your inventory.
I'd like to see it incorporate as much build options available that are in prior Souls games. Imagine, one playthrough you're a poisey heavy, fat rolling tank like in Dark Souls 1, another you're a side stepping, blood vile using, speedy gun slinger like in Bloodborne.
How do you balance enemies and bosses around that large of a gap in movement speed? The Hunter class would have to have extremely low HP to compensate.
Find a flaw.
Arcane builds from bloodborne should be brought back.
Same with hexes, and maybe even an option to either use weapon arts like ds3, or to power stance weapons from ds2.
It's not that big a difference. Dark Souls 3 had some form of side stepping and I could imagine going up against most Bloodborne bosses as a havel, shield and all.
Beach/jungle level
>Orphan vs. Havel
I must see this.
It'd look like this.
Orphan's combos are way faster and longer. Artorias is a snail compared to that asshole in his second phase. A super tank build would probably trivialize him, which might work as "balance?"
Orphan actually has decent AI though.
That's certainly debatable.
>highly skilled player cheeses a boss in a speedrun
No way, dude. Post more webms.
>cheeses
Everything in that webm is working as intended.
Tight gameplay and customization are opposite ends of a spectrum. Literally quality vs quantity
Cheese is exploiting game mechanics to their fullest. It's not glitching.
I want it to have depth, unlike Sekiro and Bloodborne. Which where designed for reaction based casuals.
Thanks it looks gorgeous
That it has better AI than Artorias? I don't think that's debatable.
Can a speed runner absolutely cheese it after practising for 200 hours, probably.
Fucking this.
oooohhhh
>Cheese is exploiting game mechanics to their fullest.
No, it's using unintended methods to achieve a goal.
Well, the devs didn't intend the player to visceral Orphan to death in his first phase, so I'd say it counts by even (You)r definition.
Why did they make him parryable, then? That's an explicit design choice by the developers.
So the average player can get a few parries in before he goes into second phase. The first phase chain is unintended, as they'd surely lock his HP to ensure the transition if they knew you could do that.
Another dark souls with open world meme and “we are doing something we couldn’t before” hype
But we all know eventually we’ll all going to get that data mined video for cut content so what’s the point of expecting anything
So what else is new
I have an idea for the new item /weapon pick up conundrum
They should be boss encouraged so that you’d swap to a certain weapon each boss phase with each dealing it’s own critical damage as oppose to if you didn’t use it
Same with spells or different build and such
Basically something nuances along the lines of aforementioned
It could not even be bosses but certain enemies in each area
open-world Dark Souls with the combat of 1 and aesthetic of 3
playing 3 for the first time right now and it feels very linear, and the level design is a bit scatterbrain, at least in Undead Settlement
>that data mined video for cut conten
How is that a deal-breaker? Any good game is going to have cut content.
>aesthetic of 3
Then they shouldn’t make sensational promises
“Hurt durr we are doing something we couldn’t before because now ...NOW we have all the time we need”
And then you get the same deal all over again couple of months or even years post release due to “time constraints”
>Any game is going to have cut content
ftfy
No scaling
A fun faith/cleric class would be nice, as I always lean towards those types of builds in these games, when the option is there.
>That the (((open world))) meme doesn’t fuck it up.
they‘ve already confirmed that a fromsoftware open world means larger souls levels
>talking shit about Cathedral of the Deep
That level was fucking great and don't you even pretend to disagree
The first Dark Souls was already open world, underage shitter.
My biggest hope is that there isn't a fucking sequel.
>pic unrelated
This.
>pic unrelated
I just want to be able to play as a little girl
Back to Discord.
it's going to be SotC but bigger with an interconnected system at play, with the coiled bonfire corpse thing
I'm not a tranny I'm a pedophile
lmao, almost all of the DS3 designs are BB leftovers
>undead settlement
>scatter brain
It's the most interesting area in the series, unless you are a brainlet that can't comprehend diverging paths
I want a shield system that is functional, fun and worthy of dropping your 2h weapon for. Something they activelly avoided doing since Dark Souls 2.
That would be good. If they could pick up on what Nioh has done and refine it further on a game with actual level design I'd throw money at every screen.
>Dark Souls 3 had shit shiel-
Slow paced gameplay, I'm sick of BloodDS3Sekiro style games they've released recently.
This.
If you have horseback riding, it means you will have at least few open fields, you can't bring a horse to a tight Souls corridors.
>tight Souls corridors.
this level is like a rock throw long
That Miyazaki doesn't phone it in like he did with DaS3
Looks kinda like something from Kingdom Death but without all the penises and body horror
>Games are made by one person
Based retard.
GAMEPLAY FUCKEN WHEN
Tomorrow.
Make hexes great again
>Bloodborne
>Tight gameplay
I just want the isolated adventure feel of Dark Souls. That means an interconnected world with no warping and no level up waifu. I want to be surprised first and foremost so please Fromsoft don't retread the same ground.
Personally I'm hoping for OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH ELDEN RING
no need for 100 copy pasted temples and empty openworld in elden ring
NO MORE SWAMPS
Cope.
I know it's gonna be another fucking soulsclone so I just hope to god they make this one focus on what made souls good in the first place, which is not fucking combat or pvp masturbation, but exploration, circumventing expectations and thicc ass atmosphere and immersion. I probably wont even buy it unless I see some signs that this is their focus now.
nu-From isn't interested in doing any of that, so I wouldn't hold my breath. They're chasing after the 'reddit LOL giT guDD xDDD' crowd now.
