Do you remember the first time you played a Souls game?

Do you remember the first time you played a Souls game?

I'm considering replaying DaS2 again. God save me.

Yes. It was Demon's Souls.
I was very disappointed when Dark Souls 1's incredible world came at the cost of the combat being much worse.

>tips for beginners
>tells them how to summon
Why would you try to ruin someones first souls experience?

I played through all of them at least once, but 2 sotfs is the only one i returned to. Poise is just right, best hub, cool gear and bbest pvp

Also 2 had the most kino dlc areas and best bosses besides nameless from 3

2 had so many QoL upgrades, it's hard to go back to 1 afterwards.
Too bad they forgot to keep most good parts of 1, like the level design.

Agreed, 1 had a better flow to the way you can explore. 2 opens up alot but not right away like 1

Currently on it, I just spent two days going up and down the great hollow trying to kill everything properly, just to discover there's nothing down there and now I'm back up trying to find my way in Blightown, 3/4 fourth of my weapon are broken, I'm cursed and can't go back to fix everything.

Because you see, Blightown in reverse force you to tank some hit. So now I try it to go into the tunnel full of blow dart and I'm just gonna bum rush it because you can't kill them without ranged weapoin really and those red dog are gonna fuck it

But on the brightside, I'm far better at combat from that great hollow bullshit

Blighttown wasnt my sticking point, sens fortress had me seething though

>great hollow
>didn't find anything
Did you somehow miss the entrance to Ash lake?
Don't worry if you did, you can always come back, later in the game, you'll be able to warp between bonfires which makes getting in and out of Blighttown less of a chore.

Also take the elevator at the bottom of Blighttown it leads up to vally i think and then you can ttake another path back to the hub

Yes, it was so boring I ended up dropping it after the first boss.

I bet you're regretting not buying the repair box right now.

I am playing through the entire series again. About to finish Demon's Souls and holy shit i am bored af. Everything Demon's Souls does the later game do 10 times better.

Yes there us fucking nothing in Ash Lake

I don't think I cared enough to think about that before going in

Permacurse, progressing at slow pace in a sea of shit poison

oh yeah ? I say with certainty that's where the game actually tries to fuck me up in earnest

>dark magic in DaS2
Hexes were the best part of that game and its so unfortunate that Miyazaki and the team dropped them almost entirely from DaS3.

What's the fastest you've completed, or played through most of Dark Souls 1? I want to challenge my friends with it. See who can get to Anor Londo first, maybe.

>avoid the graveyard
yeah, but getting the Zweihander early is easy and a good choice. Just don't go into the catacombs

I didn’t know there was a lock on feature my 1st play through, learned on my 2nd one

>ds2
>killed until I'm stuck with half health, broken weapons and no enemies in starting zone to get souls from so I can fix my fucking weapon
>have to make new character

I'm in your situation but cursed and in blightown lol so man up

>tfw had the entire Soulsbornekiro series spoiled because my older brother is obsessed with them, and Yea Forums never shuts up about them
>playing DS3 for the first time and already know every boss, location and memorable event

AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I just hate that it tells the player to avoid certain areas instead of figuring it out on their own which is half the fun.

also DeS = BB > DS3 > DaS, from what I've played
Dark Souls is by no means bad but some places especially towards the latter half really bring it down, and I just prefer the level design and aesthetics of DS3, though DaS is certainly more creative

What a coincidence, currently on my first ever playthrough of Dark Souls 1 and I absolutely hate this game. I'm not mad at it, because any game that advertises itself on "you're gonna die a lot lol" is genuinely not worth getting mad over.

>any game that advertises itself on "you're gonna die a lot lol"

publisher advertising =/= actual game design philosophy, I died at most 20 times on my first ever playthrough, besides Ornstein and Gwyn it really isn't hard at all, and Gwyn you can cheese with parrying like hell

>reddit spacing
>"i never died, git gud"
Go fuck yourself

SAAAAAAANKTIS
EEEEEERMAS
