Admit it, gameplay wise this game was great
Admit it, gameplay wise this game was great
>open world
lol
Engine was great but pacing and structure of even playing and getting into the game and using tools you want in missions you want to play
FUUUUUUUUUUCK NO.
>thing but I out epic Yea Forums arrow before it
1000/10 argument
yeah, then it started repeating itself over and over. when the side ops started getting into stuff like blow up tanks part 6, rescue old mother base person part 7, extract the high skilled person part 15, clear the mines part 12, it just got tiresome.

It was mechanically sound but the level design was too weak for the gameplay to ever live up to its potential.
Ground Zeroes was better in every way.
Very repetitive.
I enjoyed 100%'ing it

user...
Mechanically great, lots of interactions and the movement feels intuitive. However the game is too easy. As long as you crawl a moderate distance away, it feels like there's no challenge. Darkness and camo don't feel like they matter much either.
this.
shouldve been a series of smaller sandbox levels instead of that pointless huge openworld
>We want the Splinter Cell Blacklist audience!
No.
Not to mention the huge open world didn't even have a 3-way conflict as it should have due to the setting, you know what game had a 3-way conflict before? MGS4.
In terms of controls it was absolute god-tier, but everything else about the gameplay lacked
>Boss fights
Worst in the entire series, worse than MGS4
>Level-design
Extremely underwhelming and boring
>Missions
The definition of repetitive slog
Kojima held pure gold in his hands, and he managed to turn it into shit. It's honestly quite incredible.
I don't think anyone would disagree with. That gameplay is fine. It's the basebuilding that sucks, the story that sucks, the resource management that sucks.
It's a one-letter typo. You're doing it again
which letter
No. It has amazing control of the main character but the entire gameplay loop is misused on a recycled content. You also have to limit yourself too much and not use what the game offers you to make it remotely engaging.
I think it would be great if it was linear indoors setting and the tapes were deleted so that the story would have to happen on screen. Or if the gameplay/engine was reused in a hypothetical remake of MGS 1 2 3.

user... It's literally one person posting, don't mind him.
I wish you could take more weapons and not be limited by weapon type, maybe like in peace walker. And I wish there was more varied stuff to do, like in peace walker.
The actual gameplay itself is perfect though, it even improved little things that were iffy in GZ.
But this game feels like it's just the beginning of something bigger, it needed a sequel or two, don't care what the plot is about this time but damn, I'd love to play more maps and do more stuff in this engine.
Also the last boss should have been young Solid Snake voiced by Hayter but at this point he would cost them 1/4 of total budget (including marketing) without even doing motion capture.
gameplay in 3 and 4 was better and more fun to play

>in 4
