What's wrong with this? seems like a good tool for groups of people who don't know eachother at all

EYEBALLS
Seems like a good way to ID people who don't belong in a group. Hand them out and anyone who fills them out seriously, gets the boot.
to be fair, I would hate it having my DM go into some weird fanfic romace sex scene
nothing cringier than considering the feelings of other people lol
you could just, you know, ask if people are gonna get deviant

Hard red on the heatstroke.
Don't you dare speak to me about thirst user

This is the nightmare I fear user
I used to work in the TTRPG space, mostly in broadcast and consulting with companies to use streaming to reach audiences. This means I did a lot of social media work in the community. I've always been a tabletop gamer, and got back into it with Roll20's launch before getting in as a career.
I say that to say; When streaming first started bubbling and D&D and other RPGs were about to explode on Twitch, Twitter, and other social platforms and in mainstream media, everything was normal. People were normal, it was just a nerd community. But over time, it got more and more "woke", as more and more pink-hairs forced their way into jobs with complaints of lack of diversity and "boy's club" and all that shit. They brought their friends in after them and suddenly if you wanted to get sponsored or have your stream content not be accused of being bigoted, you had to have a diverse cast of brown and queer people with pronouns on screen to make everyone feel safe. You can't be remotely anti-PC, anti-Woke, or any of that shit. I nearly lost a job because I used to word "forced diversity" ONCE. I literally had people I work with saying they didn't feel safe. Hell, I had a company liason/talent I worked with once literally tell me she couldn't work with another creator because he had a Pepe emote.
I can't go back, and it's sad because I have a lot of friends I miss, but they took over that space and burned it to the ground. And I can't just pretend it's fine and have to bite my tongue in hopes that I never say anything to offend anyone and lose my entire career. So I left.
It's going to happen to every hobby. They're like a fucking Blob that rolls over and devours everything.
This just looks like the tabletop version of a F-list.
aaahh my weakness fuck you I need my 2 page apology
>Mark all reds and forbid health points ever dropping below maximum
Did I just win?
everything hurts and everything is bleak
Neurotypical people have this concept of "talking", where you use words to convey ideas and feelings.
E.g. you can explain to GM what you don't like about what he's doing.
You should read up on that, helps a lot in social interactions.
You're now aware of how vulnerable your neck is.
holy shit
please please please i beg you to stop talking like some pink haired faggot
um, wow you are being literally toxic right now
why do they suddenly want to play autismal spreadsheet table top games?
Because men are playing them.
Shit's gonna get worse before it gets better. Once people realize that this "DO EXACTLY EVERYTHING WE SAY OTHERWISE WE RUIN YOUR LIFE" shit is to the point of people killing each other over it, it'll probably stop. Unfortunately, it's a long way until people start spilling blood over petty puritan bullshit.
le wacky nerd culture
it's now a fashion user, for now
I have hope it will end eventually
I'm not a prude when it comes to DMing, I've done stuff in games that crosses almost any line you could want (without veering into actual fetish shit obvs), and my groups have always been fine with it.
One my relatively recent (over a year ago) projects was an all-female campaign about pirates. So I assembled a group of chicks that were all real cool, but didn't really know eachother at all.
By session two, I wish I was making this up, they were trying to seduce dudes in a tavern and shake them down for cash, one of them was being dominated by the would-be-villain and their commanding officer, and almost all of their characters were either trying to fuck every NPC they came across, or eachother.
You'd think any dude would be like "Fuck yeah this is awesome!" but no, as a DM that's fucking terrifying because part of me actually just wants to play the fucking game and not have to veer off into sex scene twice a session, and the other part of me is desperately trying to maintain my composure and pretend this is totally cool and I'm not secretly freaking out and I don't know if I'm going to cross a line somewhere and it's gonna ruin everything.
Though to be fair the time they tried to shake down a drunk Orc, two of the girls (two really hot girls, mind) were having their characters play strip-chicken with my NPC. At some point, I just had to have the Orc whip out his big orc dick because he thought he was about to get laid.
That's the kind of trial by fire real DMs should go through.
We've already reached that point sadly:
boundingintocomics.com
So where have actual nerds gone since these types of people have invaded all of their old hobbies
Two reasons: One, they just want everything that other people have. They see you having fun, they need to take that shit and make it theirs. Two, it's a fad. It becomes the big, pop-culture thing and they need to all be in on it, cramming it full of their ideology and shit in order to make it inclusive and welcoming for them.
Basically, they bully normal nerds out of one space and force them to do nerd shit behind a door by themselves. Then they hear fun happening behind that door so they kick it in and smash through it to get that fun, and they destroy the door in the process so you couldn't close it if you wanted to.
At least you kept your cool and didn't spaghetti, haven't been back to my friends sessions since they have some weird fucking thing with strip clubs when I just wanna play a god damn game
The tabletop wargame community is still fairly clean of the SJW cancer. Of course, it is still mainly run by combat vets who are all out of fucks to give and guys who actually designed the types of games they play.
The nerds are still playing with nerds, user. They don't give a shit.
>when you unleash soul-corrupting sludge into fairies' sacred grove but you told GM you didn't agree to genocide so they all survive
>fad
Fuckkkkkk i forgot that shitty show Stranger Things has fucking D&D in it that explains everything
Right now? Tabletop games like Warhammer are largely untouched for the moment. I think a lot of nerds are being pushed to other hobbies that don't take place in a gaming store though.
What faggotry, in my last campaing for some reason we eneded up killing 5 kids, two wrestling them and other three in a ritualistic manner to get enchanted daemon killing weapons.
Tabletop rpg are boring if you make them milk toast
>Immediately think on how I can powergame by excluding particularly bad brands of monster for my class as triggering.
>Second thoughts are to wit: "I wonder if ticking red on eyeballs means beholders are banned or the entire game is everyone blind?"
>"Can I use that?"
>Final thoughts are what happens if I tick red on everything except "explicit" on the relationships menu.
To be fair SJWs have been invading D&D way before Stranger Things. They've been there for almost a decade now.
Wow, something no sane DM will use or even know exists!
>like Warhammer
unironically agree with some of them
I knew it I KNEW YOU FUCKERS SPAMMING /TG/ HAD TO BE Yea Forums TRANSPLANTS
>Having been visited with the calamity of a single moment of serendipity, I realise the universe I was born into does not deserve me, nor I to suffer its existence. I immediately slit my throat and die happy.
>Get up and go home.
Yea Forums cancers every board
I had to keep my cool because it was all live on stream. I don't actually know if the audience wanted all that lewd shit, I don't know if it played well, but the girls seemed to love it and I really didn't know how far they were willing to go with it.
They were a good group otherwise though, they're all great people and good friends. No, video recordings don't exist, I never put them on Youtube.
I could have SWORN it was /pol/ too, this must be why /pol/ acts like it doesn't know why we all fucking hate it, Yea Forums is out there pretending to be /pol/ on everyone elses board
Yea Forums's "HURR EVERYTHING SUCKS" mentality is the source of pretty much all evil here
Which ones?
>No sane DM
The role does tend to attract the unhinged. This can be a good or bad thing. I'm not arguing your point that nobody would be dumb enough to use this, but I can't abide the idea that someone just said DMs were generally sane.
literally what's wrong with this? You're all basically agreeing to collectively imagine shit together, you should at least have some baseline agreement that everyone is on board with what's being imagined
not bait, I genuinely don't see the problem with this
I mean, I haven't played tabletop Warhammer since...whenever that Space Marine vs. Ork battle box came out. Sixth edition? I don't know, it's been a while.
Imagine playing with people that get offended for every shit, when roleplaying. I'm glad I only played D&D with friends.
Okay I have a real question that's eating me up, how the fuck do I tell my friends their game is shit and I don't want to play it because of
>one annoying player who pretends to know what he's doing but just tricking the unskilled DM AND being an annoying turbo fuck who "le wacky pickpockets" every single person
>every other player is a fucking murderhobo
>DM keeps giving us good gear with no reason what so ever and is so new he keeps making all the newbie mistakes
I'm at my limit should I just quit or try to talk it out?
>Doesn't understand that SJWs think people are so mentally weak that they can't even control their own imaginations...
It is one of those great mysteries user, we may never know what's wrong with it.
oh Warhammer? You mean that series with all those shoehorned female soldiers that are just as strong and capable as the male soldiers?
Managing the feeling of discomfort about some aspects of life is a skill that children should learn when growing up and adults should possess. By removing the aspect of personal responsibility that someone should have over their own emotions and how they manage them, you infantilize them, which in turns leads to bigger issues. This list is going to attract emotionally dysfunctional people who never learned to manage their emotions. They are going to be bothered by any random thing and potentially ruin the game for the rest. If there's something that really bothers you, then speaking in private with the DM before the game would be the mature approach.
You could just say all of those things to them.
>livestream
christ user I feel for you
picking a fight with every single player just seems like a lost cause to me
Stranger Things and Critical Role.
talking beforehand about sex and romance scenes is pretty normal and unless you're in some turboautist group, any sex scenes should be fade to black
crying over an earthquake happening in game just because you have experience with earthquakes is really pathetic
your post has triggered me I demand an apology right now you bigot
As opposed to what, trans period?
Why did you post such a flippant post about a serious issue? This is close to my heart and I am actually shaking because of what you've done.
it's a fucking game, not a life consent list. This is the exact same thing as speaking to the DM in private, except it's ALL on the table and removes a lot of pitfalls and obscurity in the DM's eyes. If he really has a problem with a players no-no zones, he can talk to them directly or kick them out of his game.
I like it because it puts all that shit upfront beforehand, so you know what players you're getting to play with
Based and chillpilled
Eternal winter when
Already sounds like you believe it a lost cause, so why not try being an adult and talking first. How about helping your newbie DM along, instead of quietly boiling like a sperg.
>I like it because it puts all that shit upfront beforehand, so you know what players you're getting to play with
I like this too. This way, if I ever receive one of these "consent checklists" from a player, I can ban them from my games permanently and replace them with a non-mentally-ill player.
who fucking designed this shit race
>all my best looking clothes are winter and fall ones
>all my summer shit is bum as fuck
I hate this god awful season
>how the fuck do I tell my friends their game is shit and I don't want to play it because of
>blah
>blah
>blah
literally just have a conversation with them. If you can't talk to your friends and tell them your concerns then you're just torturing yourself
>implying Yea Forums has friends to play dnd with
I loved doing it, honestly, and made some okay money. I wish I had the drive to continue, but I burned out and crashed hard last year and just shuttered everything I'd built, left social media, etc. At this point, there's no way I could go back, my heart just wouldn't be in it.
Plus as I mentioned, I don't feel like the community has a place for me anymore. My whole career, I never mentioned diversity, representation, queer shit, politics, pronouns, genders or identities or anything. I just focused on the games, and over time it felt like I was the only one holding out. I don't like being surrounded by good people that have bought into the wokeness and cult of identity and trying to play the game of staying out of that, while also working with those people and risking being called out for it.
God, I fucking miss horror games though. I was a fucking master of horror.
>comic writer
Jesus that's scary. Since when? And what comic? Also makes me glad my old comic book store disappeared.
God.
It's not the same because I said if something really bothers you, not having a list of some "triggers" that are non-sense. Again, this list would attract dysfunctional people who can't manage their emotions. Plus, they can always just not play if those things are present in the game. I don't understand this culture of "everything should be for everyone".
This look like a kinklist
Any solution that doesn't involve talking about the problem like adults, isn't actually a solution. That's my Rule number 1 when it comes to dealing with gaming groups.
Or just leave. You don't owe them anything.
I tried talking to him, but who knows if he's trying
this is the same guy who thought a ghost stole his burrito and tells me not to look at abandoned warehouses or demons will jump into my soul. Love the guy but god damn
>God, I fucking miss horror games though. I was a fucking master of horror.
what are some of your favorite horror games?
I had a fun digimon themed game once, unfortunately it fell apart due to the DM wanting to shota the fuck out of things like a weirdo when everyone else wanted to move on with the plot
Apparently she will be writing "The Infected: Deathbringer"
It's sort of silly seeming but I can see the reasoning. I don't have a problem with it.
Okay. I'll do my best. Bear in mind I ultimately don't think this myself since if you can get a group of people to agree on anything in the privacy of their own home who the FUCK cares , also its not fucking hard to just know where the line is with players you know and tailor campaigns around what pretty much everyone wants. However, I will outline the issue as best I can:
One of the big draws of D&D is its immersion by value of being an evolving and new experience for its players. Sessions that are pre-defined too much lack any spontaneity and defeat this.
Second, the very idea of simply refusing to face content that provokes a strong reaction denies the multitude of things that may come from that. Horror stripped of its horror is not horror, and cannot bring the rush or thrill that comes with it. It places blinders on one aspect of roleplaying that roleplaying itself allows one to experience the strange and new experiences one would not in fact wish to face in real life in a setting that does not also come with real-life consequence. By simply allowing players to never be uncomfortable, you also permit them to never gain anything new or challenge those fears, worries or concerns. To put it extremely bluntly: Imagine facing say, a fear of spiders by slaughtering your way with a band of friends through a spider nest. The player given the option to originally exclude this will probably bow to his or her fears and exclude it, but one in the moment, immersed in their character, may just dip into the cave and vicariously experience both fear and face it, and to deny that with this piece of paper is anathema to a lot of people.
Again, I personally think using this or decrying it is ultimately a crutch for people who can't find the relatively easy balance and just fucking communicate with players, but I can at least understand the arguement against it.
If there is a god why would he allow this?
Fucking hell that whole title describes Quinn to a T
Since just a few days ago, though the actual writing probably started months back. Having her write a comic called Deathbringer is something DC probably wouldn't do if she was brought on just now.
Christ, what a special kind of faggotry. People who need shit like that should be forced to play based FATAL, it would condition them to be less sensitive.
Sounds like this kind of form would have been handy in that situation.
totally valid and you wouldn't be wrong for doing so. Typically though the DM would be passing this out to their players prior to starting any game, or during the preparation of the "story"
I'm sure if you have a group of people that you regularly play with, and your DM passed out that checklist to your group, it would be a net benefit. You don't know if some shit makes certain group members uncomfortable, even if you've been playing with them forever. They might just be too afraid of confrontation to bring it to the DM in the first place. It's just another way to ease that barrier and make the game that much more enjoyable for the group
>fatal
based and anal circumferencepilled
FATAL isn't a curse I'd wish on anyone, waterboarding is more humane
>d&d group that's made up of entirely hot girls
Wow user I'm sure that totally happened
>It's real
Just. Why.
I have only played a few horror-specific systems, Shadow of the Demon Lord is a good one, and Shadows of Esteren was a really interesting one. My best horror game ever was not in a horror system, but in a lightweight freeform D20 system a friend of mine created.
I love pushing players to their limits and seeing them react viscerally and emotionally to horror stories. It needs such a specific type of player though.
Isn't that the one with the nearly graphic description of the effect of a gauss flayer?
Also, 40k and its galaxy has always been pretty diverse.
They don't. The moment they get their way they'll cross tabletop RPGs off and then move down the list to pick on something else.
They seek to infect everything like the Flood in Halo or any other sci fi race like that.
How do I get good at RP anons? Half the time I’m mumbling out some lines that often only half-make sense in the context.
so bright colored hair is the tentacles then
If they are unable to speak up for themselves about what bothers them, especially to someone with whom they have played together, they are the kind of dysfunctional people I'm talking about. As simple as that.
As opposed to the legion of sjws that have overrun /tg/ in recent years
Kids fighting necrons is too stupid even for 40k
It's not hard when you work with Twitch streamers, my guy. You probably won't believe me but I've both DMed for and run events with the "D&D with Pornstars" group that formed a few years back, because one of my good friends is a pornstar-turned-streamer.
Networking can be weird sometimes, you never know who you're going to randomly end up friends with.
I suggest being autistic like most of us
I will be honest I am more annoyed that I only just realised the past tense for read sucks.
>forced to play FATAL
No man don't do it.
No one deserves such a cruel and unusual punishment
How appropriate that the people who want to live in a bubble have to tick the circle.
If it’s a single necron warrior and even that is presented as some lumbering unstoppable force it’s a cool idea, otherwise dumb.
Putting aside the question of this being a valid strategy, GW has always sold a lot of plastic crack to kids.
Now if they can also target little Timmy's younger siblings, they can broaden the demographic even more and drain the parents of even more money.
And in the future those may pick up where Timmy left of.
I have no idea if this works but it could serve as a reasoning.
Consider the sheer amounts of genocidal species, as well as the fact that planets like Catachan don't really care how old someone is because there is something to fight.
It may be excessive, and thematically ill fitting but in theory that is something which could happen. Now the admech kid is a borderline heretek and the tone is pretty silly from what little I cared to read but its not that out there.
thanks user, that makes a lot of sense.
tear and tear piss me off to no end, sometimes I hate how dumb we made shit and kinda just left it
>mental and physical health
>genocide
Excuse me?
Best DM I ever had quit after one of our faggot roommates railroaded us through his fetishquest complete with his own meta-gaming DMPC! Dude was just an average everyday Joe Blow. Couldn't really blame him after that but his campaigns were great and it was nice to hang out with a normal dude.
It's called talking to one another. I don't need a fucking autistic checklist to help me understand people.
Pretty much the only things from that list I wouldn’t want in my games is the sexual stuff.
that actually sounds fun as shit. What's the best reaction you've gotten from your players?
I feel genocide is bad for your health if you're on the wrong team
That reminds me
I can't wait for somebody to throw a shitfit over the mc of paranoid having schizofrenia
>schizofrenia
Just how small is the sub-set of people into Tabletop gaming that needed to be told this? Any DM that regularly has ogres molest the only rape survivor in the party isn't going to listen in the first place and the sort of simpering spineless coward that thinks this is a good idea is likely already doing something exactly like this.
A normal adult person shouldn't be uncomfortable with ANY of the shit on that list to the point of making a fuss about it, and if they are then they are probably too fucking sensitive to be roleplaying or be in any kind of social situation with adults at all really.
No one should ever be expected to assume that someone who wants to play a harmless game with them might freak out and make a scene at the mere mention of fucking forest fires. If someone has a GOOD reason to really be upset at something in a roleplaying game to the point where they can't just ignore it for the sake of their group, they can either bring it up in private to see if they can work out a compromise, or they should elect not to play so they don't fuck it up for everyone else. And a "good reason" is not something like "I don't like the police because i'm on social media all day raging at articles about them arresting black people", it's something like "my daughter died of cancer 6 months ago so probably don't put in a sick little girl NPC who dies".
Dumb shit like this form is just a way for mental infants to impose their sensitivity on others, it is the adult equivalent of a note from mommy saying that Timmy is allergic to peanuts so no one else in the class can bring anything with peanuts in it.
see and They don't actually care about *THING*, they care about the mass media pop culture attached to it. They feel they have a RIGHT to experience it first hand. Otherwise, they're being cut out of pop culture. It's the same reason why you had reviewers bitching about Sekiro's difficulty - they cared because it was The FROM game, and The FROM game is always a huge cultural touchstone, it's watercooler fodder. They don't care about the game they care about experiencing it so they can talk and meme online about it.
We now have a generation that grew up playing, sharing, and memeing about media online. This has become a central part of social life. For proof look no further than Fortnite. A million kids know that stupid floss dance because of it. The new language of meme's is a cross cultural thing, it transcends other societal aspects we used to use to relate to one another. Before Pop Culture shit, it was SPORTS.
We have only ourselves to blame, as well as sites like IGN and Kotaku normalizing and streamlining it.
Its all for the greater good.
turn your mind off, forget that you're sitting at a table around your irl friends, and really try to immerse yourself in that world and imagine what your character would be saying in that scenario. Then just let the words come out.
Some people find it easier if you close your eyes. Eventually you'll get to the point where you realize you're just participating in an elaborate story time, and will have less of a problem mentally
What's the problem?
Put no on sex with PCs to get rid of ERP fags. Write "Faggotry" on the "Social issues" and mark that off to get rid of the perpetually offended and then draw a big green line through the rest of it. You could also add "Playing with people who marked off anything else" in red on there. It's basically a way to filter off undesirables.
fucking knifears
some (((people))) are extremely perturbed about a certain historical event that may or may not have happened
what game was he playing?
ONE GAZZILION
>DM wants to play call of cthulu
>Double-tick red on mental and physical health
Czech republic mate.
this. Why don't people understand the purpose of this form?
>no red circle people can tick for body horror
Perfect, that's my specialty.
because I want to believe I don't need a piece of paper to prevent ERP fags from shitting up my games
I actually have saved a few pictures from some of the great reactions from that game, but I don't think I'd be able to post them on here for obvious reasons.
There were moments of pure disgust, there were moments of visible dread, but those get stale after a while because once you "show" a scene of gore, it loses it's shock value and diminishes in returns over time. The real juicy stuff is the emotional gut punches when you really twist the knife by pulling away their hope.
The ending of that campaign was honestly one of the best moments in gaming for me. They fucking cried, because it was so bleak and cathartic at the same time.
Amid Evil
A damn good game with a damn good soundtrack:
youtube.com
>he can talk to them directly or kick them out of his game.
At which point you're labelled a terrible person because you're "targeting them" for something they "can't change", all because you don't want to rewrite your entire campaign because they ticked the "hates bugs" box. It shifts responsibility onto the heads of everyone but the person presenting it.
They really are another species. That there are thoughts and ideas that are genuinely unthinkable for them to explore in any capacity, especially an entirely imagined story one feels absurd to me. I guess if the DM or other players are clearly getting hot and bothered by describing how they are hacking up corpses or raping that is not gonna be a fun evening but otherwise I can not see how this ever necessary.
I really like the graphics
Just buy summer clothes then lmao
i'll just stay inside ac then
The map design can be gorgeous at times, especially towards the end. Also fun how the weapons aren't actually models but rather sprites with some fancy PBR mapping tricks.
I'm glad I stopped playing PnP stuff over a decade ago.
None of you niggas give a shit about tabletop games, and I know that because /tg/ is nowhere near as gay as this board. It's extremely gay don't get me wrong, but there's a marked difference.
For a game about social interaction you sure do need to be incredibly socially inept to need something like this. You have to be extremely autistic to have such a poor understanding of your friends to need something like this, then again tabletop RPGs have gone from something you play with your close friends to a commodity you and a dozen entirely random strangers stream for money, so I guess it makes sense that the diversity mafia would start to rear it's head.
We only have ourselves to blame. Pissards of the Coast is the reason this brain-numbingly stupid fucking shit's wormed its way into the hobby. We keep buying, they keep pushing. This is the future you purchased.
Nice damage control sperg. If you don't want us laughing at your D&D sessions now turning in to a copyof the WOKE Olympics. You should have done something about it.
Why the fuck do people stream everything and post images of everything they do nowadays? Is nothing private anymore?
Ah fuck, I forgot about that bearded woman that holds us all at gunpoint every weekend during our game because some has-been game writer put a pdf online that nobody gives a shit about.
I would enter all green, I must be hardcore
>I must be hardcore
no, you're just not a thin skinned faggot. that's nothing to be proud of
People have been sold this idea that literally anything they do can be monetized and turned into a brand.
Drawing? Start a patreon.
Playing games? Stream it.
Holding a conversation with someone? Make it a podcast.
>now
They came and succesfully conquered tabletop before they moved on to their current target of vidya
It is entirely your choice to roll over and die while these "people" take over your hobby.
Hope you make sure to memorise those dwarf pronouns. They get quite good at sniffing a pretender out. Enjoy.
Was Monte Cook the hack who made that weird Black Box shit that was so pretentious that it made your eyes bleed?
Based. Fuck /tg/ thinking there better than us.
Nigga they're not taking over my hobby. Nobody's busting down my door telling me how to play a fucking made up fantasy game. Get a fucking grip.
To be fair, there's enough nightmare stories people tell each other of players having a meltdown as a result of some shit they didn't like appearing in the game. Having to deal with that shit in person is a chore I would not wish on anyone. With stuff like this you can at least filter them out early.
>I said there would be spiders and you agreed it wasn't a problem, suck it up.
>You don't like that racism and sexism exists in the game world? Find another group, then.
>What do you mean 'too dark'? This is the setting we all agreed on.
Goes the other way, too. Lets players know beforehand that a DM is going to pull them into their magical realm so they can nope right out early.
Honestly this isn't so bad.
No! Someone posted something on an obscure website, and now I saw it and chose to give a shit about it and now I'm mad! You have to validate me!
>Nobody's busting down my door
Yet.
But you might get fired from your job if you missgender that dwarf user.
You're living in a cartoon world user, get some fucking help
You can literally just make up a new setting, even an identical one, that has dorfs without pronoun shit and other stuff you don't like.
This isn't videogames. This is people playing make-believe where you can actually do anything.
>It wont happen to me i follow all their rules
>he actually thinks he isn't in the same cartoon world
You're too naive.
Sadly the guide this came from also specifically said that people can change their minds and refuse to consent to anything at any time and are never to be questioned for it.
>players no-no zones
It's a good thing you're not physically bound to these rules. If you're the DM, tell your players straight up that what they agree to on that list goes.
Rules only matter for the game, not social interaction.
You're supposing to me that some hack designer who's decades out of the spotlight writing this checklist is a short road to some internet weirdos wiretapping my apartment to make sure I have girl dwarves that have dicks on them or some shit. Besides the fact that that's already retarded, you need to step back and accept that nobody gives a shit about this nonsense offline. Shit like this is only a problem for shut-in retards who are too dumb to know what real world problems they actually have.
>Checks green for every box
Many times a singular person will join a group and find their methods strange or counter-productive at first, yet as time goes on the reasons behind these behaviors start to reveal themselves, morphing that person into a member of that group's culture.
When a large swathe of people joins a group, however, their superior number can end up drowning out the voice of reason within the group. "archaic", "out-dated" or "pointless" traditions are pushed against by these new members, yet their sheer number massively overwhelms the old guard before they can reveal the true nature of these rituals. Soon, the blind are leading the blind with those who have the least amount of experience placed at the top as "bringers of change" while veterans are cast aside as products of a "different age".
This seems relevant
>Makes up shit about wire tapping to gaslight when it has been proven that they are crazy people who get people fired for misgendering people
Look man. All i want to do is laugh as your hobby burns down around you. Try to enjoy it as much as me
>Checks red for every box
Hope I didn't spoil your precious story, GM :)
>kicks you out of the group
bye
What does any of that have to do with me playing Dark Heresy with the same 3 people I've played it with for like a decade with no change in the lineup
Only takes 1 to get the POZ.
>You live in a cartoon world
Ain't that the truth
>he thinks it's just one person looking to inject this ideology
Once again, naive. Wait until the people you know get indoctrinated, if not yourself.
This is literally what the checklist is for, isn't it? I would think people here would like it because you can filter out people who'll get mad when you break out your magical realm shit?
I thought this was reasonable until I read the options. Everything there is PG as fuck, what's the point?
My campaign is all about NTR and mindbreak. Who consents?
>I'm sorry user, I spent a lot of time crafting this story and since everything would make you uncomfortable I'm going to have to ask if you'd like to avoid coming over to play for a little while.
Sadly even that isn't the end of the madness, not by a long shot
I don't know man, I just think "hey here's a checklist you can use if you're playing a game with a bunch of fucking weirdos" is less ridiculous a concept than "the internet sjw's are going to mindwash one of your gaming buddies and get him to tell your boss you're a bigot rapist because stranger things and critical role is popular nowadays"
>monte cuck
Kek. I remember when this guy demanded no white people in numbera
>"the internet sjw's are going to mindwash one of your gaming buddies and get him to tell your boss you're a bigot rapist because stranger things and critical role is popular nowadays"
That's not even close to a ridiculous concept in the current year. I can't think of any other word than naive once again. You seem to think it's just one checklist online.
Looks like another tool the DM is free to implement or toss right out the fucking window.
What kind of world do you think we live in where a rulebook for a board game applies to real life as well?
More like the SJWs think they already ARE one of your gaming buddies and they'll do it to you.
>entire ideology is basically a fanfiction
>surprised when they want the fanfiction to extend to the actual fiction
They say in the guide that it applies to just shooting the shit IRL while playing the game so I'd just say really do live in a society.
So how many tabletop campaigns and jobs have you guys lost to this type of deal? It sounds like this is a real, serious problem and not just some dopes with not much going on in their lives exaggerating some dumb internet shit.
>He's this new to Vampire
Buddy if you think that's bad I'd stay away from the older editions and the video game.
Jeremy from theQuartering is a pretty famous example of someone becoming an unperson, granted that is more Magic the Gathering, but they kicked him out for exposing a bunch of pedos lurking in the community.
You can still ignore that part because it's stupid. What are they gonna do, call the police?
Don't answer that. I already know your answer will be 'yes' or 'your workplace'.
I have to contest that on the grounds that nobody who plays or cares about Magic the Gathering can "become an unperson", because they're subhuman to begin with
Let's be honest, you don't want me to answer that because you know that not only will I say it like you've predicted, but I'd also be 100% correct in that assessment. SJWs are a cancerous AIDs to not just vidya but society as a whole that this point.
DC is currently hiring anyone. Brian Michael Bendis, Zoe Quinn. Fuck, Anthony Burch and John Carpenter have teamed up for the second time on a Joker book that's supposed to be out soon.
I'm still waiting for an example of a time somebody got fired because of SJW's getting mad at them over Dungeons and Dragons. And I mean a real job, smelling like shit and hanging out in a card shop isn't a career.
>"hello, I'm calling you to tell you that one of your employees was being mean to me in a tabletop game of make-believe"
>aids
>liberal issue
>capitalist exploitation
>fully endorsed by democrats
>sexual predation
>left
>the resurgence of far-right extremism
>created directly by leftist policies
>religious fanaticism
>islam, endorsed by the left
>state and private surveillance
>basically cancel culture, created and enforced by the left
They're legit more handicapped than I thought.
Man you'd have a fucking conniption if you ever started up a Resident Evil game.
>you know that not only will I say it like you've predicted
You are an actual parody of a person. A walking joke. Completely predictable in your ridiculousness.
I am sorry you chose to be this way, even ironically for the purpose of this thread.
We get it, you've never played Vampire.
Don't cry just because someone called out the democrat's cognitive dissonance, it's okay.
its actually /pol/ crossboarding onto Yea Forums, then crossboarding everywhere else.
It is not my ridiculousness that is predictable. I'm not the one pushing people to commit suicide or lose their jobs just because I disagree with them. That is the SJW way.
How is a fat bearded retard losing his digital Yu-Gi-Oh cards an example of a human being losing a job? He's not a human and Digital Yu-Gi-Oh isn't a career.
Circular logic, it's more like anti-liberal people gravitate here because of cancel culture that affects every other place.
It's obvious, if you're a faggot and here to post about vidya, then you simply lost your way to reddit.
>It is not my ridiculousness that is predictable
Trust me it really is
He was blacklisted from every event, because he called out pedophiles in MTG. They kept the one calling the pedos out, out.
If a GM ever hands me this I'm immediately leaving the building. I'm not the type of person to leave over a sheet of paper in a tabletop game but this is beyond fucking retarded.
Was going to those events a career for him?
Trying to Gaslight by attributing the predictability of SJW cunts whining to my complaints about them are you? Any particular reason why you would even care? More over, what makes you think I even give a fuck what you think?
>(((they))) are all-powerful, influential, and everywhere but they're also fragile snowflakes that seek retribution for every slight and will weasel their way into your circle of friends to destroy you specifically and there's nothing you can do about it unless you screech about it on the internet
>I'm not crazy you're crazy
This way pussies won't play your loli rpg.
I like how gaslighting used to be a SJW term that you readily picked up because it was convenient.
Because I took a pretty weak jab at something you said on Yea Forums and wrote all that shit in response, mostly
Yes it was, next question
You mean kinda like how CNN coined the phrase "fake news" because it has Zero self awareness?
That could be a cool horror story.
m8 if a GM is handing you this you're probably in for a wild ride as he gauges exactly what kind of monsterous shit he can pull ideally specifically violating what you put down as your hard line
If you get handed this AS a gm, then you leave the building
Unironically this.
It's a good way for both parties to filter for better players.
People who unironically use a list like that would be horrified at the games I run. The only thing I really haven't done or had the players do during a session is weird sex fetish shit because that's gay.
>maybe one line of text
>"all that shit"
imagine being this level of retarded
Try to cast a tranny out without getting fired.
No it fucking wasn't and you know it. I don't know anything about that because like I said before MtG is for abhumans anyway, but being kicked out of a fucking card game tournament isn't the same thing as losing a career. Just because you make poor life choices doesn't mean playing card games is an occupation. The question from the beginning was, give me an example of somebody getting fired because one of these SJW's called their employer over a tabletop RPG.
If I had new players that didn't know me, I'd hand them that and then proceed to make a campaign featuring all the shit they didn't like in horrific ways.
The guy got his start on YouTube talking about these sorts of things, that is a career and you know it.
Pretty much. That's a very good way to look at it, though it might depend on the player too. Player might just be someone who wants to know what to get into, maybe tailor a character after it. Unless it's already filled out in mostly red.
>player hands you one of these
>green for everything
post yfw
People play D&D with people that aren't already their friends? What kind of pathetic faggot shit is this?
So at what point did he play dungeons and dragons and misgender a dwarf and then get his boss called on him by an SJW, which is literally the scenario that was laid out in this thread like 3 times already?
Nobody ever gets angry at the right parts of this
>tranny muslim durr durr
Yeah whatever, common for the slop, just like that kind of retard is actually common today among those degenerate crowds
>Elders: inhuman machiavellian monsters
>EVER being afraid of some cunt larping as the very thing they were literally witness(and/or participated in) to being Crusaded against
>as in capital C templar and hospitalier ass Crusades
>and having a millenium of powerbase building to boot
Fucking retards who wrote this shit ought to be shot for the shit they'll likely never be criticized for
Why did I fill this out? I don't even think I did it right. You get the idea though.
You guys make a good point, if they're a cool GM no doubt they'd pull some fucked shit on you if you said you can deal with it. I guess I'd at least let them go through with it until something retarded happens.
Whoa! That's fucking badass dude! I bet you own a butterfly knife. Wicked.
Fine you want a different example, have a look at this person who tried calling the police an employer over stupid shit:
vox.com
The only thing I'm nervous about is the explicit, in-character romance
>redditor filling the subject field
>engrish
>outrage bait
>not even vidya
>250 posts and counting
Great job, guys. I hope you're proud of yourselves, you stupid sacks of shit.
I unironically see no problem with this. It's a tool to understand your players better and therefore create a more intricate world
You can also play on players' fears in creative ways without being a dick
No of course I don't, knives trigger me. I wrote it down on my trigger warning list, shitlord.
I tried to fill it out, but i ran out of green pixels.
You know what? As much as I hate that we live at a point of time where this is a thing, I might prefer being able to look something like this over so I don't make a simple joke that gets taken out of context because I say someone's "trigger".
Fuck everything about it though.
People are so fickle over the dumbest shit.
>explicit inter-party romance leading into sexual assault leading into pregnancy
>every player and character is male
My group could use this as a bingo card.
I'm skimming this shit and I don't see any firings stemming from somebody being non-pc in a dungeons and dragons game
If they get triggered, tell 'em to fuck off.
Freedom of association, sweetcheeks.
>the fact that this completely optional thing to be used among friends exists offends me so much I'm going to make a thread on Yea Forums complaining about it
I feel like if they put trigger warnings on their content warnings you people would be satisfied.
This is exactly what I don't get about this whole thing. If someone pulls out this checklist and you think it's gay clown shit, why not just not hang out with that person?
Sex outside marriage confirmed to be retarded and a one-way trip to depression-town.
Because they're figurative faggots that can't handle any conflict in their literal faggot life.
If you show up with this shit to my table, you're going to not make it to the next game nor the following due to confusing scheduling mishaps
It's one thing to say you're uncomfortable with your DM about certain subject matter, and a far fucking cry different to turn in a check list of buzzwords you'd rather not encounter in your kobold genocide simulator
MAGICAL REALM
REVV UP THEM CURSED GENDER-SWAPPING AND MIND-ALTERING ITEMS
WE'RE DOING IT LIKE IN THOSE JAPANESE PORN COMICS
>Jeremy
>TheQuartering
>Exposing pedophiles
Is that the new line of bullshit he's feeding you gullible faggots? It's amazing how you NPCs fall for clickbait retards making shit up every time.
>points to specific examples of these filthy cunts calling the police and employers on people
Yeah, this clearly is proof that nothing is wrong at all with SJWs being in the tabletop community.
>haha so fahnee
Be glad you have never been subject to running or playing in a game where the only thread of entertainment is the sum vulgarity that the participants can come up with. I have never seen romance or even any story plots where murder isn't the central focus ever be taken seriously in even a remote way. The endless attempts at convoluting the most gross-out and absurd scenario has been played out ad nauseum and yet still is applauded and rewarded with praise in almost every group. It's made me numb and angry as a man and it makes it difficult to even see humans as worth anything than the blood in their bodies and the money in their wallet.
Assuming that's true, why haven't you gotten into a stable relationship yet? you have at least kissed a girl, right? You don't just sit here getting offended on Yea Forums all day, right?
>why don't you let players control the campaign?
that's the opposite of what tabletop RPG is supposed to be. GM should be able to set whatever campaign he wants to and have you deal with whatever situation is currently at hand. If you don't want to, don't play. I don't get triggered by spiders and I don't want the fun of wrecking them stolen from me by someone who does. If you are so mentally unstable that you're going to sperg out if a GM brings up a spider encounter then stop meeting people at all.
Maybe post some quotes from the article because from what I can tell it's just some bitch on tumblr complaining about harassment, and nobody in the story loses their job. I've been asking for a single example of this shit for like an hour now and you just keep showing me gay internet argument shit, which is proving my point entirely.
I didn't leave my house for fifteen years. I never tried. No.
I ctrl+f'd 'police' and only found her getting laughed at.
Where's proofs of people getting fired.
That's literally how he got started.
>additional topics
>consent checklists
>hard line do not include
What now, faggot?
>If you show up with this shit to my table, I'll be a bitch and not tell you outright that you're a fucking nutjob and then probably post on Yea Forums about how the cucks are finally breaking down my door to cut my dick off but I called them fags and now I'm going to jail forever.
>t. Never had a group
It's collaborative storytelling, faggot, if you want to have a power trip or be subject to rigid rules in an inflexible system, play video games. Pen and paper is about telling a story and using mechanics to gauge that stories believability and progress. While you can play for scenarios and video game grinding, it's not "what tabletop RPG is supposed to be"
Thankfully, since woke ideology is completely incoherent, it's destined to collapse on itself, and we're beginning to see some zeitgeist pushback in the form of things like Chappelle's new special (and the reaction to it) and larger corporations wising up to the nonsense that's been pouring from their HR/"diversity" departments for years now.
The upcoming election also seems to be forcing leftists to actually think critically before getting Trump elected again.
I just hope that the pendulum doesn't swing too far the other way, wokeness has already done way too much damage to ACTUAL human rights activism.
Well, atleast you won't pass on your inferior genes.
Dude they've been pushing people to suicide in other industries like vidya already, don't lie to everyone and pretend like it isn't happening in tabletop either. I've already provided one notable example and you decided to move the goalposts like the cowardly little bitch that you are.
Anyways in this case the employees were lucky because the company wasn't willing to fall for the BS, still doesn't change the fact that she clearly tried it.
>I just hope that the pendulum doesn't swing too far the other way
This, I hope we'll stop at the genocide of all subhumans, traitors and other human-shaped diseased rats.
But i bet the edgelords will take it too far.
Accurate though
I just want them socially isolated and suicidal
Wyrd is the company that makes the game. She's contacting them over threats, not because a specific person in a tabletop game misgendered a dwarf and now she's trying to get them fired. You're so fucking stupid, man.
I'll start a business as soon as bitcoin breaks 100k, with the goal being to provide for at least 20 children.
I hope centrists pick up the pendulum and swing it left and right until some semblance of peace settles in.
>n addition to generating considerable discussion about the issue of sexism in tabletop gaming, Garland's Tumblr post has garnered dismissal from both sides of the gaming cultural divide
>Due to the dramatic way Garland describes her experience with harassment and assault, several social progressives who would otherwise be supportive have joined Garland's detractors in wondering if she's a troll.
>Garland told Vox that 2015 marked the first time she was able to talk to a police officer about gaming harassment incidents "without being insulted, threatened, or belittled."
>Her personal experiences with law enforcement include an incident described in her Tumblr post in which she called police to report being raped and police allegedly called her a drunk slut and hung up.
HMMMMM.
When a SJW says "threats" they really mean "I disagree with you." Gamergate proved this quite substantially. Stop trying to pretend like SJWs aren't all cancerous.
>police allegedly called her a drunk slut and hung up.
I wish this was in any way new or shocking, though. Roleplaying books have now been plagued for about a decade with mandatory couple of pages of getting consent, making sure it's a game and not reality, shit like that. Hobby has been thoroughly infiltrated by SJWs.
I don't give a fuck about gamergate. You fucking clown, you said specifically that people can and have lost their jobs over saying mean shit in dungeons and dragons, and then when I ask for proof you post shit about youtube retards getting banned from magic the gathering and some bitch from tumblr getting told by literally everyone to shut the fuck up. I don't even think you understood the point of that article before you posted it, because she was complaining about somebody from a company saying some shit online, whereas what I've been wasting my time asking you for proof of for probably an hour now is somebody, literally anybody, getting told fucking anything by their employer for calling a dwarf a faggot or something.
Reminder that Cyberpunk 2020 was truly woke from the beginning.
While you're mentioning gg, here's another gem
>Perhaps surprisingly, she even credits "Gamergate and their high-profile harassment of Anita Sarkeesian, Zoë Quinn, and Brianna Wu" for "chang[ing] the way the law responds to threats and to gamers."
Nice job empowering them.
Yeah, sure thing pal. Statistically speaking if you're over 25 you're almost destined to be single forever at this point.
I'd chalk the "making sure it's a game and not reality" thing more up to the Jack Chick Christianity types stirring up the moral panic over DnD back in the day
Most "Normal" people when they see their spaces invaded by these Aposematic haired fools will be demonstrating severe pushback.
People in general are happy if there is something to take their minds off of things, the minute that is fucked with is when people ask questions about what the hell is going on.
>What are they gonna do, call the police?
>Don't answer that. I already know your answer will be 'yes' or 'your workplace'.
You retarded dumbfuck, you originally asked if they would contact a person's employer or the police, I just proved that to be completely true. Did you really think I'd forget what you originally asked? Also don't forget that it also included players shooting the shit and saying things that weren't necessarily gaming related.
At least have the decency to admit that I was right on this
>writes fun on a blank line
>non binary people trigger my dysphoria
>no sex with kids option
>I used to work in the TTRPG space, mostly in broadcast and consulting with companies to use streaming to reach audiences
Hope you got a real job
That wasn't even me. I'm the first quote. There are at least two people telling you how insane you are.
And the point still stands, and was evident in that same article. Nobody takes this shit seriously. Fucking respond to this post you coward.
Tabletop gaming has always been filled with complete fucking sperglords
What's there to respond to that post? The people she contacted were smart enough not to fire anyone over her nonsense. That was lucky.
Also she was completely batshit and making accusations up, which only further backs up my argument that these people are willing to ruin lives over complete bullshit.
see
That's where I asked first. You can be a retard and say you answered the police question but that wasn't me and I asked for proof of somebody losing their job over this shit like 30 fucking times so you know that I was asking that and not "has somebody ever called the cops over stupid shit".
I am 31yo man.
Your analysis only applies to promiscuous women, a man can sire in his deathbed.
I could start at 50yo and still have a decent shot at siring 3-5 children, though with a lessened chance at seeing them grow up to maturity.
My only real objection to discarding this trash is
>explicit sex scenes between DM/PC's
Because unless there's some damn good reason, I don't want to listen to two people roleplaying their F-List when there's much better things to do. Like actually progressing the campaign.
But that's something that should be given a heads-up as a courtesy. It's not hard to talk in a game literally about talking.
>BAAAAAW SOME PEOPLE WANT TI KNOW WHAT'S INSIDE MY MAGICAL REALM BEFORE I HOLD THEM CAPTIVE TO IT
Nice thread.
Exactly one (1) person didn't immediately dismiss her, and there were still no consequences. That's not luck.
You were asked to show proofs of consequences. You gave us nothing.
nothing worse than playing a RPG and have your character or other party members raped because the GM can't stop psuhing his fetishes onto the group.
I already told you about the Jeremy shit.
They realized they can get money out of it while getting a platform to spread their poz.
>31 year old virgin
Nah, you're definitely dying alone. guaranteed.
Jeremy wasn't fired, and he wasn't playing tabletop rpg's.
I gave you proof that these people are willing to ruin lives over petty shit. Just because it didn't work that time doesn't mean there aren't examples. Again, this is going on in other industries too, look at Alec Holowka getting fired from vidya and hanging himself for it.
Isn't the chance of having autistic kids the older you get higher? Nice legacy you're leaving behind, old man.
Just embrace wizardhood. There's no shame in that.
>fired from vidya
Okay I understand the miscommunication here. You're fucking retarded and don't know what 'fired' means.
It didn't work ANY time, user. There was no instance any life has been ruined by this in tabletop gaming. Especially not over fucking consent forms are you actually stupid?
> Yea Forums sees cyberpunk 2077
Go back to retardera you stupid tranny. Nobody wants your kind here and would celebrate if you killed yourself.
>loses job and has game gets canceled
>clearly not "fired"
Imagine being this level of retarded
Who was his employer at the time of his firing
You mean aside from Jeremy...
Do you know how I know this wasn't made by anyone who actually plays DnD?
Because cross-checking 5 lists like these for every single improvised encounter/event that happens in-game would make DMing borderline impossible. This person/people has a completely utopian view of how tabletop games are played, in reality RPGs are time costly commitments even without retarded paraphernalia like this.
Infinite Fall
Magic the Gathering is not a tabletop RPG you fucking mongoloid. Jeremy did not get fired because Jeremy was a youtuber which by definition means he is self-employed. We've gone over this 5 times. Accept that you're just a paranoid dipshit and let's all get on with our lives.
Infinite Fall was his studio. The team leaving him doesn't mean he was fired. And the only firing he did to himself was with a handgun or something.
Also ProJared got kicked out of D&D events for the lies spread against him.
I'll remind you for the 31st time that the prompt is "who's ever been fired from their job for calling a dwarf a tranny or some shit".
He was forced to leave the studio retard, that is a pretty clear case of fired if there ever was one. The game itself had to be cancelled as well.
Also ProJared pretty much got kicked off some D&D events for the lies against him so that also counts.
Great strawman ypu got there. Of course tabletop is about collaborative storytelling. I never said it wasn't. What I said was that the players don't get to tell the GM if he can put a spider encounter in it. The point of GM is to put you in a situation you get to try to solve however the fuck you want.
Did those lies include misgendering a dwarf though?
You never said "who's ever been fired from their job for calling a dwarf a tranny or some shit" in your original post. You added that later to move the goal post when you realized I actually was able to provide some examples of people being accused and effected.
i changed the scale a bit to reflect how I feel about it. At first I was going to leave most things blank but then I thought it's better if I try to fill out everything, but If I don't care either way that's the middle, how much it modifies my baseline boner level is how far it is from the middle in either a positive or negative way.
Also how the fuck was this missing Impreg? Impreg isn't the same thing as nakadashi or preggo even if they're related.
Do you know how I know you don't know about game shop DnD? You think this is about DnD when it says GM. There's more table top RPGs than just that and it's obviously made for a group of people who don't know each other. Working around the list won't hard once you know it and it probably isn't wildly different for any group, but it does open it's self up to curve balls like "okay graphic descriptions of rape are okay but not torture and, for some reason, thirst."
God damn I know it’s a bit, but how can you suffer typing that all out?
Again You never said "who's ever been fired from their job for calling a dwarf a tranny or some shit" in your original post. You added that later to move the goal post when you realized I actually was able to provide some examples of people being accused and effected.
i don't play with retards and whiny faggots, so no
it's nonsense. i don't like spiders, but at zero point does a fucking spider encounter in a pnp game ever remotely do anything to make it a thing
any game that tries to make you use one of these sheets you should literally mark every single item on the list as red just to piss people off
Based. That's how we should handle those fags. If you show them hostility, they will mark you as a nazi and get over the lost acquaintance. Avoid them while pretending not to, and you will keep them guessing.
see
>So how many tabletop campaigns and jobs have you guys lost to this type of deal?
And so far, literally nobody has lost their jobs to this type of deal. If you're really going to be that much of a dipshit and say "uhhhh you said misgendering a dwarf, not calling a dwarf the queen of cocks" then I'd really be praying for a cure for autism if I were in your shoes.
Some forms of player contract are nothing new and if you're seriously gonna whine about it you're no better than a random "mentally ill tranny" or whatever.
Given that every DM(GM, etc) is free to homebrew anything, this will never become an issue. You'll be surprised, but no Tabletop Patrol will break into your basement to stop your session of Kill Puppies For Satan.
Yeah except ProJared was going to get payed for his part in the D&D event, so he lost both that gig and that campaign.
>I'm okay with spiders so everyone should be okay with a grown man going into the details of an ogre raping their halfling
Go play with your edgy faggot friends if you have any.
>go to a convention
>have to obey to trannies in order to play
>in before "going to conventions"
Are you gay or what?
And I'd give you that one if he didn't get dropped for something completely unrelated to his actions in a tabletop rpg.
Alright, next up we have D&D play tester Zak Smith who got booted by Wizards of the Coast.
Why the fuck you'd even want to go to conventions to play with some random retards? Do you have no friends or something? Or are they too dumb for FATAL or whatever shit you're into?
>user has to start digging deeper and deeper into his own asshole to find justifications for his paranoia
it's kinda sad, really.
Sounds good, let's hear how play testing was his career and how something he did in a tabletop rpg got him fired.
You're right, I was just discussing DnD so I wrongly assumed that this was related, either way: my point still stands, especially, for game shop RPGs as nobody in their right mind would go through lists like these to alter their campaign/one-shot/etc. It's an absolutely superfluous addition. If you have genuine PTSD from rape or dislike graphic violence - you can easily take that up with the GM before the game, instead of filling some 100+ option form that the DM will likely have to keep referencing throughout the game.
>Working around the list won't hard
Yeah, buddy good luck describing anything with several lists hanging above your head with varying degrees of permission attached to every conceivable topic, in a game shop setting, no less.
>go to a convention
>surprised you have to obey the rules laid out by your host
You can't actually be chaotic neutral in real life without facing consequences, user.
I roleplayed a sovereign citizen so of course I didn't consent
>Giving women human rights
Reap what you sow, westcucks
I would fill this out, but nobody would read it. And even if I did everyone would fixate on the fact I maxed out Diapers
We live in a weird world. A decade ago you played D&D with your friends not randos at a convention who you clearly don't have any shared interests with.
I like the side-idea of a paladin's code on steroids, where its a deliberate active inhibitance of normal player action rather than say, a play REALLY wanting to be lawful stupid. It knows its lawful stupid, it's your enemy but it gives you power too, and now your campaign is finding ways to bend without breaking it to get done what you need to do.
>Other section is the only with writing on it.
>I am triggered by pieces of paper asking me what my triggers are.
CAMPAIGN SUNDERED.
D&D at conventions is a decades old thing, but it is still absolutely retarded.
Apparently he even wrote a few award winning campaigns for D&D as well.
Anyways was accused of harassment and worse from multiple women, none of whom ever pressed criminal charges, and now he is suing them for it.
How hard is it to go "Yo, I don't like spiders man stop describing their appendages with so much purple prose"?
One of the most hilarious parts of this is those same people are usually the most rabbid anti-pirates.
I played plenty of RPGs with people I didn't know, it's not a recent thing. In fact tabletop is infinitely better with a group you're not 100% familiar with.
Those awards were all for Lamentations of the Flame Princess which isn't DnD, and did he rack up those accusations during a tabletop rpg? No, because for some reason you're still not grasping the question after 2 hours.
Why not just place your trust in the DM's common sense and discretion though?
This game is 15 years old and the idea that you can have a negative anal circumference in it still fucks me up so bad
It really isn't hard. Groups don't have to be too big and themes are easily swapped around and descriptions are generally easy to tone down.
I get the purpose of it; you want people to be comfortable and even the description of a character having a bout of non-magically induced schizophrenia can make someone with a loved one who just went through it uncomfortable and they'd feel awkward telling someone to stop or just leaving, so the list alleviates that.
These allegations were nonspecific, but claim that his behavior was constant, and included his online D&D sessions as well.
Also his awards were also for campaigns like A Red and Pleasant Land and Maze of the Blue Medusa which are D&D campaigns.
If I has a player and got this from the GM I would mark Red Do Not Include for every item just to see what happens in the game. Under additional I would also include violence, killing and death as Red.
That's fucking brilliant.
God forbid people should ever feel mildly uncomfortable.
What's gaslighting? Like the gas showers in ww2?
Besides the fact that no, those aren't DnD campaigns, where can I read up on the shit he did during sessions?
It's lying to someone with the intention of convincing something they witnessed didn't happen.
Gaslighting is when you try and convince somebody they're so fucking wrong they're actually insane.
Just negative potential.
But if I want to kill spiders in my pnp session, if that's literally all I want, to fucking smash spiders with my friends in a fantasy word and there comes the faggot who is not even able to handle someone hearing the word "spider" (how is he going to check it on the list anyway? He will immediately start screaming and throwing objects around because the word is there written black on white),whose needs should GM prioritize?
Perhaps the answer is not in avoiding things someone might not like irl because it's a fucking imagination game and we don't have control over someone's fears? Perhaps we should just play and have fun and if we encounter an imaginary situation that we don't like, then maybe, just maybe, we should fucking get over it like an imaginary, non-existent thing that it is?
You don't have to worry about that and game shops are in their right to want to provide a comfortable experience to people they don't know.
Handle someone saying*
Yes they are D&D campaigns, here are some people talking about running one in 5E:
reddit.com
Also the fact that his harassment extended into the online sessions was a small footnote mentioned in a long post, but the particular paragraph stars with:
"Then you started with the online gaming arguments nonsense, and that put a real crack in our bond."
Fuck, I can't believe I read this page wrong for 15 years. Kind of ruins it for me.
First sentence the guy mentions that he had to convert the setting to 5E, because it's not built natively for it. I can run Ravenloft in GURPS but that doesn't make it a GURPS campaign. And that sentence means fuck all without context. Who's saying it to him? About what arguments specifically? There's absolutely no information to be gleaned from that. You're making it sound like the majority of the allegations against him had nothing to do with a game.
I know your making this scenario just for the argument. But you gave me the mental image of everyone sitting around a table with this one guy talking about how much he just fucking loves killing spiders. He then proceeds to play weird Al's "Weasel stomping day" but replaces weasel with spider while they all slowly exit the room.
The advertisements for these campaigns is that they can work with multiple editions of D&D, so converting it to 5E is not unreasonable.
The majority of accusations don't have anything to do with the game, but some of them do. It is from a lengthy facebook post by an ex named Mandy Morbid, sadly Yea Forums won't let me post the link. The complete post is also too long but I can at least post the paragraph in question:
Then you started with the online gaming arguments nonsense, and that put a real crack in our bond. In the beginning I felt genuinely protective of you, my provider, and of course that was my very strong trauma bond. I didn't know better, and I just thought I was caring for the person I loved. Callously, you exposed me to death and rape threats and you then never took the distress this caused me seriously, you were in no way sympathetic to the very real stress these disagreements caused. You enjoyed it. And you gloated over the harm you caused other people. (It was extremely unattractive.) You just used those threats we received as an excuse, used me and my marginalized identities as shields in your continuing misbehaviour online.
I like this scenario because I'm fucking terrified of spiders but I play Earth Defense Force nonstop and 90% of that game is shooting spiders with an AR-15.
And he laughs hysterically as he stomps the spiders.
sounds fun
Fuck yeah bud, another post where you mention shit he did in a game and then post some shit that has no mention of shit he did in a game. And like I said in the last post, a generic setting isn't "a D&D adventure" because you adapt it to be used in D&D. Just because you can use something this guy wrote in 5E after tweaking it a bunch doesn't make him a writer for Wizards of the Coast.
Most likely didn't even notice everyone left the room. But that doesn't matter because he is having a great time.
You're right, this IS a good useful thing.
Because the instant a potential player pulled out something like this, I would instantly know that I have 0 interest ever playing with them. Or associating with them in any way.
I'm digging this because this hypothetical spider thing is a metaphor for the thread right now. You've got this one maniac posting over and over again about some guy who just loves to kill spiders while some other autistic fucks argue about horseshit.
He had his name scrubbed off the credits on some of the Wizards of the Coast work he did.
Also him getting into arguments online while playing D&D is mentioned in the paragraph, which completely proves my point.
I still wouldn't say having your name taken out of a book is losing a job but whatever. My main problem here is that, hey dipshit, him "getting into arguments" isn't mentioned in that paragraph, unless you mean the first sentence which isn't expanded on at all by the rest of that paragraph. What kind of arguments? With who? What did he say in them?
The original question was, name an example of somebody getting fired for shit they said in a tabletop RPG, and it's been 3 hours and you still can't name one example, which is fucked up because somebody with better shit to do would have given you maybe 15 minutes.
He did a few video series in which his lover at the time was a co-star and he was unhappy about D&D becoming “Disney-fied.” So yeah, she is talking about arguments he would get into during those sessions and as a result that is mentioned in him getting fired.
So in your mind the rape and harassment accusations weren't what got him in trouble, it was arguing about whether or not DnD was edgy enough. You're a fucking clown.
Those accusations got him in trouble too, but they did also say that the stuff I mentioned was bad, and that also got him in trouble, as they again still used that against him as well. Which means I am still technically correct, the best kind of correct.
Anything on this list can be okay depending on context, even sex. All you need to know is the general tone of the campaign, beyond that it's just unnecessarily limiting.
So what you're saying is, you believe that they would have done the same thing to him if he hadn't been accused of rape and harassment? Because if so, you're absolutely full of shit.
You're a retarded moron for associating with the demimonde in the first place.
Probably so, since that would tie it directly to the Wizards of the Coast since he helped work on that.
The thing is the other accusations were made with zero evidence, several years after they supposedly happened, the women in question never pressed criminal charges, and now he is suing them for it. This means that the only thing with actual evidence appears to be the stuff regarding the online arguments.
So you're saying that without the accusations, he'd have been fired for badmouthing his employer, not for outraging some SJW's.
This right here
Badmouthing the employer would be also outraging the SJWs. After all, they are so spineless they now want consent forms for everyone before a campaign even starts, and Wizards of the Coast bent the knee many years ago. Again look at what they did to Jeremy.
Fuck yeah circling back around to magic the gathering and OP's chart somehow being a legally required document. Enjoy your delusions you stupid fuck.
Falling in despair and not trying would garrantee it, indeed.
Let's not do that.
Pic related.
The effect is much lower for the father than the mother, through of course compounded is both are old.
I do not intend to marry my age, smoothing out the risks.
Where did those people even come from
Like, what planet were they raised in? What were they like as kids? I don't understand. They don't sound like humans.
>Wizards of the Coast would never fire someone for upsetting the SJWs, also SJWs are stunning and brave
>SJW CONSENT FORM DOESN'T COUNT CAUSE REASONS
>JEREMY DOESN'T COUNT CAUSE REASONS
Admit you've lost. I've managed to find an example that beats your ridiculous goal post moving and you still want to whine like a little prison bitch.
i ... cant even right now user ... i cant even
what the fuck is this gay shit
whatever id consent to it all im not a pussy
>social and cultural issues
>real world religion
TIME TO SOLVE ONE OF THEM! DEUS VULT!
This.
have you played any of these games since 3.5? literally every tabletop is just "lol just GM it dude, have fun bro." There are no numbers or anything anymore
What is this? I don't understand.
This is what I'm gonna send my next new roll 20 candidates to see if they get accepted. I don't do sex because it's cringe but if they mark red or yellow to anything else I get to decline them for free
Well then I'm glad I never went passed 3.5.
You unlocked Journalist Mode
Dont worry, as a radiotechnician i saw first hand that the human body is both incredibly strong and ridiculously weak
Fucking faggots ruin everything
Yeah, the counter to that is to start aggressively injecting your own deviant fantasies into the game. Alternatively, act as though you are super into the magical realm. As in, incredibly, uncomfortably, psychotically into it.
Either, your GM will get the message, or you two will end up fucking.
This is just pathetic, these people are pathetic, if shit triggers them this much what the fuck are they doing playing a PnP? Fucking snowflakes.
SJW cancer like this is eating the tabletop hobby pretty bad. Its about as cucked scene as vidya is to be honest.
Isn't this supposed to be for the GM to hand to the players? I don't see what's wrong with a GM wanting to know what their players want. Also how are these buzzwords? All of these very clearly refer to things that could realistically show up in an RPG game
If you're playing with friends you don't need this list. You know each other and what you're good for, and are capable of talking about it like adults if something goes down.
If you're playing with randos, this list is the least of your problems. Even then, fuck itemizing all this shit. Talk it over like human beings. I find the punchcard nature of this thing more obscene than anything it's actually suggesting.
Some of these items are also asinine in a game about dungeon diving and killing monsters and often sapient creatures. I would like to explore the dungeon but I am claustrophobic, what?
Any DM worth playing with would use this as a manual on how to scare the player better
I really hate people like you. You clearly don't care about tabletop games, you just want to whine about SJWs. You know what you're saying is complete bullshit in real life and that this would never happen but it's part of your SJW conspiracy theory that you have to whine about whenever possible so you post this shit anyway. Just fuck off to /pol/ or something, why go into threads like these about topics you don't give a shit about?
What's next in this crusade of madness and glorifying human weakness? Vidya devs being forced to use this so as not to "trigger" anyone before they play their game?
I never thought the peculiar leftist/SJW obsession with "triggers" of mundane and non-PTSD shit would lead to something like this eventually.
>cancel culture that affects every other place
Are you new to the internet or something? I don't get how some people seem to think Yea Forums is the only small website in existence. It's like the only sites you know about are the big mainstream ones that my fucking grandma knows about.
It's not necessarily a bad idea.
>DMing
>new party member's third session
>Adventure's antics start tavern on fire
>Player lost a real family member in house fire a few years back
Well, that turned into a fucking aweful session. "Did you have anyone you know burned alive?" wasn't something that came up pre-session.
Yea Forums:
>stop putting politics in games you evil SJWs! Games are supposed to be escapism! I don't want to think about politics!
also Yea Forums:
>grow up you SJWs, you should be comfortable and happy with literally anything in your games. If you don't want something in your game you are mentally a child and not fit for society. Escapism? What's that?
>It's not necessarily a bad idea.
yes it is, because I can tell you're inexperienced with these people.
This is giving them a total carte blanche to shut down anything at any time and to become the dictators of the group. The theories are well meaning, but ultimately they're trying to make everyone happy at all times, which is literally impossible.
In practice, I'll give an example. The Democratic Socialist of America had a conference, and all these ideas were on display. You had to say your gender for before you stated anything. One pink haired weirdo for example, was triggered when someone said the word "guys". This allowed him/zir/whatever to get up, and lecture everyone, and everyone had to apologize for this horrible transgression. The entire conference ground to a half to make this person happy.
Funny enough, guys is pretty gender neutral, and I've seen women use it all the time.
