Based. Needed to change my wizzy. Rolling for Autumn
I don't care if games are political, as long as they are also good. The last part is where 99.9% of modern games fail
dab
Games tend to have small political messages or themes but they don't get in the way of the game and they don't get preachy about unlike now, I'd say the turning point was the early 2010's, and around 2014-16 is when it started getting really bad
Around the same time all OC turned into wojak and frog shit.
Which one has the biggest penis?
Aren't those games full of political crap?
It has not gotten political.
It has become progressive.
Niggers,sjw,women,lgbt.
I remember when games being political meant that games had political themes, not that games had mary sues and trannies in them.
Rolling for jizzard
rolling, american or autumn please
thats the joke you dense gamer nigger
outside of COD, all the games in OP have progressive ideals
>ynr serious love
The literal penis wizard...
this
it's not about politics, it's about progressive intersectional garbage
its simple
>economic/government critical politics = good
>social politics = bad
>he can't tell the difference between the industry and the making of games being politicized and games exploring political themes
...
The problem is that all subtelty and nuance has been lost in favour of leftist propaganda. It's no longer about exploring ideas and instead about asserting the "correct" ideas instead.
It's not that "video games have become political" but rather, the writing is lazy and ham-fisted.
Oddworld is super political in how it makes the meat industry look evil
>Two opposite sides fighting each other for the same cause.
>Different and yet the same
>In the end, there can only be one winner
>War...War never changes...
I have no problem with politics in games as long as the writing is good.
try to come up with a political story that has nothing to do with race, gender, the enviroment.
This. No-one cares if a game has political opinions, but I care if a game shoves in minorities just to scre good boy points / make a statement, and zooms the camera in on two bearded dubes havign a sloppy kiss going "I'm so fucking GAYYYY, you don't have a problem with that do you?"
Bioshock motivated me to read Ayn Rand, which motivated me to never bother with politics again, so thank you based Bioshock
Man I can imagine the powers I'd have with that one.
this
literally when the government put money into researching videogames
no joke, that is true

Politics =/= Identity politics

Politics in games are fine. Politics show up often in different art mediums.
What matters is how well it is used to enhance the artistic value of the project. If it adds nothing of value, or even worse, in the case of many games, relies heavily on its political message as a gimmick, it comes off as inauthentic and cheap. Borderline obnoxious.
Black developers were fine mind you, but the women are what really fucked it all up. Opened the way for the gay by BREAKING CONVENTIONS and BEING HERE TO STAY, and now everyone's chopping off their dicks because they have body dysmorphia
Rollin nigga
How in the flying fuck does Fallout, Deus Ex and Bloodlines have 'progressive ideals'? Deus Ex is literally anti-globalism if anything, it can't be argued to be FOR it at least
Rollo
it's always been political too some extent it's just Yea Forums has gone full /pol/ colony, where everything is some heinous offensive sin because there not catering to a market of edgy teenagers rping as ass mad granpa's from the 1950's.
When the politics stopped interesting things from happening as opposed to being the reason they happen
After the financial crisis in 2008 tribal politics (blm, nu-feminism etc) were pushed by the establishment in order to keep the commoners from banding together and marching with pitchforks and torches in hand to the rulers' ivory towers.
>started
Well, yeah. Why would someone being trans or something be any as important or interesting as any of that.
