I've noticed this too with some coworkers who are only a few years younger than me. I mention any game that came out before 2010 and they can't believe that I play it now. One of them doesn't even know what chiptune music is, that kind of blew me away. Asked him if he ever went to an arcade and he said no.

Well, old games look awful, and since they're just vapid entertainment, why play inferior games with outdated graphics? Boomers always do this thing where they want to peddle their shit onto everyone yet refuse to do the same, all while being incredibly biased and close minded and not realizing they only like their games because they grew up with them (Nostalgia).
Maybe teach Zoomers to understand and appreciate the classics, but don't make them play it as their main games. When I was a kid, I did go back to previous generations and at least tried a lot of old games (I bought and messed around with an atari 2600). It was cool and I had a little fun, but playing that thing all the time would have been boring and hell.

No. Games are made with many artistic devices, but in culmination, they are not art. that was it, supplemented by the occasional bargin bin game that was more than likely to be trash. I want to say I rented some snes games too, but I cant remember if I did or not, dont want to be called a liar for having bad memory
To this day I dont think i've ever completed any of those main games.
But it gives me an appreciation for older games that I wouldnt have had otherwise.
Although I never did things like play mmos, or get into myspace and such like everyone else
the ps3 does look like ass tho since most people are playing on 1080p screens so not only do you have to deal with 720 upscaling but also none/basic AA

I just don't understand why every Roguelike has to have obtuse and confusing controls. Which is why I love Elona but that game is bullshit and hard for other reasons
Zoomers only rip themselves off when they ignore great games over graphical complaints. If you recommend good stuff to them, and they can't appreciate it, your work is done. Move on.
