First game is great, second is full of tedious time wasting mini games and should honestly not be called a platformer. The flying levels are a fun challenge though. Can't remember much of the third game.

So funny when I was a kid I prefered 3 over 2 and over 1. Now with the remaster I can see clearly 1 is the best one followed by 2 then 3.
