It has plenty of interesting SPCs, and has the advantage of having a dedicated team of writers doing all of them, as opposed to a hit and miss collaborative effort.

Companies don't commit to roadmaps unless the first few stops are done already, they'd be insane not to. It's a business reality that DLC is made in parallel with the game (design art programming etc. need something to do during QA testing and console certification).

Except I'd argue that quantum break had better gameplay, and better story, at least thats what I felt and that's what I think having completed both games.

And to be honest, I think more people are playing Remnant on PC so it's only real competition was Madden and that was a release at the start of the month so Control gets bonus points for recency bias.

I couldn't bring myself to finish Quantum break at the time, so I'll take your word for it, if only because I can't remember QB having any pointless loot mechanics or copy-paste mmo side quests.

Again over all it wasn't perfect, but there isn't a fiber of doubt in me in which game I enjoyed more.
Quantum break was a game, control feels like a free to play game and the writing really isn't saving it.
Again was expecting to have a lot of physics bending phenomenon happening at all times to shake me up and the gameplay.
Instead it's a boring, go here, shooty spawned enemies use 1 power you have (later 2 powers)

The only praise I can give control is
1 It looks better
2 it runs better
3 it has a good amount of level destruction which lets you slip into some locked areas early and feel clever

But again I rate control firmly under Quantum break, in terms of gameplay, story, over all experience.
