i would honestly appreciate if nintendo just created a fuck ton of new echoes, like 1 for each character. I just want them to just do a quick reskin, but go out of the way to create a new model or anything. It really feels like echoes are taking up about the same amount of resources to create as a unique character, and I think that kinda ruins the point of them being easy and quick to make

Ken, Chrom, Lucina and even Dark Pit have enough differences to be character worth to play with.
Making Echoes with the exactly same characteristics than its original counterparts is dumb and a waste of slot.

This character deserves to their own character. Doesn't really seem like their moveset would really be too similar to Wii Fit, or even have the same series icon.

But even if Ring Fit Trainer has good moveset potential (which is true), Terry is way more important in other ways, not only the gameplay one.
Also, Terry came from a 2D fighting game, so his moveset will be even more interesting than Ken's, taking the KOF moveset as a reference to tell why Terry could be a good character. Don't try to underestimate this cool cap boy

Echoes are literally just an official term for clone. Never understood retards expecting their to be tons of them or there to be free DLC echoes.

My argument is that Terry is an interesting character by default. But anyways I don't deny the fact that there are other characters with more interesting moves because its nature (like Hero, who comes from a classic JRPG with a lot of spells).

Also, almost everything we are discussing here is an opinion, even mine when a compared Terry with Ken, lol

He easily could, what do you mean? He has a copy ability, has access to every power Kirby uses in his kit, and could probably just use his tongue for any of Kirby's kicking/punching moves.

Not that user, but the point is to be able to copy-paste attack animations to save work (not just creating but also playtesting and balancing), once you cross that line you've already put in too much effort and you're in semi-clone territory. Gooey could probably still work as an Echo though, because he canonically can grow limbs when the ability calls for it.

Echo fighters need to mesh with the skeleton of the original character. Gooey has no arms or legs. He'd necessitate a different skeleton to animate his attacks.
