Did anyone else dislike the fact that they pulled off that DRV3 was fake and that Danganronpa exists within its own universe? Felt kinda shitty that these characters I had grown to enjoy were pretty much just actors influenced to act the way they did with fake backstories

The dialogue is the same regardless of the age of the character. They just removed the child CGs (plus they gave Sachika bloomers). I get why but it still sucks they couldn't leave it for the Steam port.
Also yeah they had a pretty solid cliffhanger without making it feel cheap.

What killed V3 wasn't the ending or even the meta-ness, it was how shitty the memory altering thing was implemented. You spend the whole game trying to piece together what was happening outside the facility, where the facility was, and how everyone got there only to find out that some random-ass machine was rolling dice to determine what everyone remembers. It reeks of the writer having 75% of an idea for all of that but not knowing how to tie it all together successfully so they just torch the whole thing with a shrug and tell the player "oh well, it doesn't matter anyways. We're doing this other thing now."

You'd be surprised how fast it is. Assuming it contacts your skull with the rest of your body, it'd be over within 2-3 seconds.

Now try burning alive or drowning. Those are true agony.

You do realize the entire point of the ending was that even if they were artificial, their experiences and interactions were still real.

It's definitely good. I almost tried to platinum it but then a shit ton of good stuff came out. Cried at the end a bit too. Basically Danganronpa with Legend of Grimrock gameplay.

I'd say about an 8 or 9. It isn't absolute kino but damn does it hit. Each character gets a good insight into their backstory and they go through genuine, gradual growth (they still suffer from their character flaws in a natural manner even after their segment is over rather than just magically taking a 180), and the main villain is basically Junko but good

I'm really not sure why you're complaining about those cases specifically when all the cases except for 1-5, 2-5, and 3-1 are solvable during the investigation process.

Every case is obvious because they can all be deduced before the trial. The only trials that can't be solved are because of plot reasons, not gameplay reasons.

It was fine to me. V3 off the bat was promoted as a separate continuity and the ending doesn't change the fact that DR still happened within its own continuity. Also considering the fact that the moral of it all was that even if a character is fictional, that doesn't make them, their emotions or their struggles any less real for them or meaningless when we're able to feel attached to them and invested in their stories. I'm pretty content with it as a finale and it helps me forget the shitshow that was DR3 End of Hope's Peak Academy.

The setup of the murders play a part in the blackened's sob stories too which are extremely important for the characters, we'd never know why Korekiyo seesaw'd Angie if everyone bumrushed their votes.

I'm pretty bad at figuring out cases before trials, but the Mikan and Nagito ones were the exception. Esp. Nagito, I didn't realise it was suicide (so didn't guess the "who"), but figured out it was the cans.

Bonding isn't grindy at all after you upgrade the bedrooms, but until then it's impossible.

Bunking bonuses were the real pay-off, those scenes are just little fanservice.

All the endings are great. Why are V3fags always have to attack the other games?

If you want to rise all bonding levels to max (and get a rare shigabane when you die afterward) it takes you something like 60 days even with the level 5 bedrooms.
But yeah, it's not really long to grind for crafts but it's tedious to chain kill trashmobs and go back and forth to the gathering points.

I was blindsided in Case 2 because Kirumi was my favourite girl and I had just finished her free time events, so I was afraid it was going to be her, but when she provided an alibi I straight-up bought it.
