Trace your shots, play aggressively. If your nerves are getting the better of you, you've got to relax and stop taking it so seriously.

What do you mean by tracing? I do play agressively and die alot because of it

Aim where they're going to be, not where they are.

Play. The. Game.
Use your brain

FPS consists of primarily 3 things:
>aim
>movement
>gamesence

to get good you need to train all three of those
only one doesn't work
>doesn't matter how well you shoot if you get flanked all the time
>doesn't matter how well you position yourself if you can't land your shots
>doesn't matter how good you can read game if all you can't contribute to a counterplay
you can get outshot, outpositioned and outplayed by a player that is 2k mmr lower in ladder than you, but if you're a better player overall - chances of him winning become astronomically low

>aim
literally just muscle memory
shoot accurately a lot
if you can't shoot accurately - aim slower and slower until you become precise and then when you stop missing increase your speed
the muscle part is about repetition
the more you do it the better you are
>movement
that's a tricky one to explain how to position yourself
it requires using your brain to constantly seek for an advantageous angle
it comes with map knowledge and you'll get better as you play
>gamesence
is an ability to read your opponents, your teammates and general flow of the game
it also a combination of experience and map knowledge
very basic mindset is "what would I do If I were on the enemy team" should help you at least not suck a complete dick and at least have some guessing game going
as you climb higher in ranks you'll need more advanced stuff and requires you to know and learn all and every OPTIMAL plays

and finally
>consistency
being consistently good is really the hardest part
competence leads to confidence
it's when you get to the point when you don't have to think about things as you play and you just do it the right way automatically
it's what le gamers call "the zone" except you don't enter or leave it - it's permanently on for you

play any old school arena shooter, you'll become so good that you wont wanna play a cover shooter ever again

I can land shots consistently whenever I practice. It might not even be a muscle memory issue but in actual games I rarely do anything as impressive.
>gamesence
How do you fix bad game sense?

Try to strafe in the direction you see your target move to minimize the distance you need to aim with the mouse. WASD for gross adjustments, mouse for fine.

Sorry OP you just don't have the good gamer gene. I have friends like you, they just don't get it.

watch replays
and, as said in that post, try to get in your opponents head
it's not as hard as it sounds, in trench people has the exact same response to events that occur in game
read that patterns and take advantage of them
another very basic example is knowing how fast your enemy can rotate on the map
how soon you can expect him to move from point A to point B
very useful for catching people and expecting the unexpected

think what you'd think if your were them, then do the opposite of it to beat them

Choose a mouse sensitivity and stick with it. Make sure all the FPS games you play are at the same. Also practice in a game were guns have minimal recoil so you can actually focus on your aim.

How is there talent for something thats recent. Should it not matter if your persisent enough?

what game?
no fps is the same. even quake and unreal and cpma and reflex and warsow and toxikk and xonotic are all different.

do you wrist aim? stop that.

no

Some people just lack the ability to be good at games. More so in FPS than in any genre. I have seen people with 5k+ hours in FPS games and they are still shit at it. And for some it just takes a long time to get good, it really just depends on the person.

this, this, one million times fucking this

This, just keep playing, "training" and watching someone else is for faggots.

Good fps are movement based, fuck consoles except for Splatoon 2.

Here's some kino:
