I vaguely remember playing that game as a kid and being too scared to get anywhere.
Was it actually any good?
>you rike guns?
>you rike customization?
>you gonna ruv extermination!
That game is clunky as heck. Even for PS2 standards.
Play Yomawari.
You just made me remember Nightmare Creatures. That was a good game. Nice thread.
shit taste, game was pretty fucking decent despite the Jap jank
It has a classic turn of the century style sci-fi horror story. Bleak as shit. I really liked it.
Nice, I should go back and play Japanese The Thing.
I wouldn't say it was anything special, but it is super cheap so it is either worth that or you can emulate it.
This looks kind of interesting. If I get through Fatal Frame 1, 2, and 3 this year I might pick it up for a change of pace.
Nightmare Creatures was something else.
What are some good switch/3ds horror games besides Darkwood
I loved this game up until they gave the enemies guns. Then it became pretty fucking tedious, since there isnt a reliable way to dodge. The atmosphere is top notch.
Very underrated. I played the hell out of Extermination. Good gameplay concept there and a good challenge.
Not sure what kind of horror you're into, but you could check out Outlast, Amnesia which just dropped, Little Nightmares, and such on the Switch.
As for 3DS, slim pickings there. I hear Dementium is decent and the Zero Escape games or whatever can be good.
for clock tower fags
from the original clock tower brahs
fucking great
It's alright for one playthrough but it's a bit of a slog at the back end. Also final boss is a massive bullet sponge, go in there with without the rocket launcher module or miss shots with it and you're better off just reloading
What the hell is this?
Is it really good? I've heard some good and bad things about it.
Play Shadow Man.
>from the original clock tower brahs
I don't think it is. They're all Italian. The game that was made by the original Clock Tower people was NightCry and it was very, very far from being fucking great.
Deathtrap Dungeon
It's not entirely a 1:1 of Clock Tower, but there are definitely inspirations from it and there was quite a lot of effort that went into it from a relatively small studio. It definitely relies on atmosphere so check it out if you're into that kind of horror.
If anything it's at least leagues better than Nightcry, the official Clock Tower successor.
>I hear Dementium is decent
It's decent, at least considering it was originally a DS game, but personally I enjoy Dementium 2 more and it's a shame it never got ported to 3DS.
it’s base 90’s gameplay
great atmosphere
patient as fuck
dab and drink along da wey
Patrician taste.
I picked this up randomly at a garage sale for less than a dollar. Looked up reviews and saw a lot of people shitting on it, but I thought it was actually pretty good.
Not like there are a ton of great new horror games coming out anyway so I'll definitely give it a shot if there is even a chance of it being good. Thanks for the recommendation, anons.
my nigga
I've been meaning to grab this every Steam sale, but I never do.
Lost interest when the tutorial started explaining the game's hunger mechanics
Any good horror games to play if you're on a tight schedule? Right now I'm looking at playing D, Splatterhouse or maybe replaying SH1-3, anyone know of any good new or old games to look at?
D can be beaten in a couple hours.
The classic Resident Evil games can be cleared in a few hours. They're not the scariest games especially by modern standards but they're still great games and fun for fans of corny B-horror.
RE1 especially since you have the original, remake, and fantastic DS ports to choose from.
The survival mechanics are such a non-issue they may as well not even be in the game. The only stuff that might actually be a problem is temperature but you get alien tech that negates all that anyway. It's mostly a walking sim with some minor puzzles elements. Let's be honest here, almost no horror games are worth playing for their gameplay. We play them for the story and atmosphere and Solus Project is top tier in that regard.
The Fatal Frame games can typically be done in under 10 hours.
One of my faves. Blood Curse was a worthy successor IMO.
I have yet to play this one even though I've come close to pulling the trigger on it about a dozen times.
Silent Hill Origins ain't a team silent game but it's the closest one that captures the vibe and can be beaten in 3 hours or so
I loved that game. I heard they were gonna remake or remaster it.
