Depends on attack speed
blue one averages 150 damage so that
blue cause blue is my favorite color
> 140 damage vs. average 150 damage per swing
> only running the risk that some enemies have crit resistance beyond, say, 20%
I have to ask first- how common is crit damage resistance in this game?
How fast can I swing them
The one with the crit. Give me the fucking dopamine.
Base crit chance is 100% lol
Enjoy your shit 200 damage while I'm swinging constant 280
The right one is more dps, plain and simple. 50% is VERY ROUGHLY every other attack, putting it 20 damage higher every two attacks. That will start to add up putting it far ahead of the left.
With only this much information, right is objectively better.
I can dodge or block, give me the blue one

Don't you dare withhold the answer from me OP, how much crit resistance should I expect?
Ok, ok. Expect 25% crit resistance from armored targets or targets with the Tough Skin trait, and no crit resistance from the rest.
dual wield
post more of these
Blue if crits go through defense buffs. Red if not
red is more reliable
the small damage boost isn't worth having shit damage half of the time
I fucking hate deciding between crit or chance. Luck should be there to force strategy change and shit, not be something you decide between.
But ignoring more personal annoyance, the crit high one does more damage on average, but strategy not consistent throughout a game, so it makes sense to choose a constant if the difference is only 1500 vs 1400.
More than that, I want to win by strategy and really know I'm doing well, so even if it does less damage, I want the high base damage.
Granted, usually games give you dumb bonuses and shit, so it can depend.
It's a really stupid choice. There's practically no strategic difference unless you are relying on blind luck to win.
Fuck high crit damage.
Based Blue Bro
red because fuck crit what ifts
>Doing a crit build
>most fun I’ve ever had
What’s your crit quote Yea Forums
Pick a god and pray.
I don't think weapons should have that big of an effect on your build. It make every character feel the same. Respeccing should be rare or limited for the same reason.
The one with more complicated stats is usually the better weapon
With this line up the fuck do you expect me to take?
Give me the burger.
I take none because unarmed is the one and only based way of melee combat.
>potion of demon blood
aren't these things supposed to have a downside?
Burger is my right as an American citizen.
Luna + judgement = unavoidable instakill.
burger if you're not a fucking COMMUNIST NIGGER
Dépends what you are fighting.
Against a horde of enemies with 120 HP, left is much better
I'll take the shopkeeper
this image has come a long way
Gravity + Judgement
None will be a match for my boomerang of DEATH
(100*50+200*50)= 15,000 inconsistent
(140*100) = 14,000 consistant through various altering situations and strategies during which at some point is liable to become useless or not preferred over other weapons for at least a time.
You're an idiot if you don't choose consistency.
1 - (14/15) ~ only 7%
It's not a big deal versus the benefit of having a constant.
holy shit BASED
right is avg 150 dmg
Alright, thanks. Now, it's time for Math!
So, 25% less critical damage (whether that means no-selling one quarter of critical hits or taking 25% off the total damage of every crit) takes the average of the blue sword down to 125 damage.
> Fighting unarmored/non-Tough-Skin enemy:
> Normal crit is 200 damage, normal attack is 100 damage, average is 150 damage
> Fighting armored/Tough Skin enemy
> Normal crit is 150 damage, normal attack is 100 damage, average is 125 damage
Now, taking these DPS values as factors, and assuming the game is balanced such that neither blue nor red has some stupid advantage...
> ((150*3) + 125) / 4 is about 143
> just over one in four enemies ought to be armored/have tough skin
This, of course, doesn't account for any enemy types that crits are MORE effective against, so if OP wants to correct me and throw something in there, go ahead.
But for now, assuming the game is even vaguely balanced...
Bluefriends, even if you have slightly higher DPS against the average enemy, are you willing to deal with one in four fights being notably slower in exchange for three out of four being marginally faster?
Redfriends, you'll be at a slight speed disadvantage in three out of four fights, will that be worth the one in four times your choice makes the game faster and more fun than the alternative?
Knowing all this, I'll go with blue.
Can I just have the shopkeeper eat the burger and I'll watch?
Give me the false saviour's pendant, and I'll have all the goddamn delicious burgers I could ever want cooked right for me.
How big is their critbox?
Diamond + Rage, or Rage + Martyr
We glass cannon
but what about THIS video game related choice?!?!
false saviours pendant to procure the rest of her artifacts
then fug cat
demon blood and pendant stacc.
eat burger.
use ring when if i get bored of ruling the world.
False saviour is just easy mode for the rest of your life, you can easily get rid of anyone who annoys you. I'm assuming it'd only work for people in close range not globally? You could just find your one then go fuck off to a cabin in the woods and then tell anyone who loves you that you'd like them better if they stay away, cause if they're willing to sacrifice their life for you they're wiling to keep their distance if you tell them
Blood + Lightning for endless hours of grinding through hordes of enemies
>eating burger yourself
>not making cat feed you burger instead while also giving you a handjob
I think you're not quite fit for this role my man
HERE IS SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN
As a gamer that boasts 1 LCK, I'll take the red
You have to consider how critical hits interact with defense. If defense is percentage-based, then crits don't matter that much and red is a viable option. However, if defense is just a straight subtraction (ie: damage-defense), or if critical hits bypass defense, then blue is a much better option and you would be a fool to pick red.
I can't think of any games have a "crit resistance" stat. Is that really a thing? Pretty sure crits in most games just multiply the damage you deal.
this is a good one
torn betweem sleep and knowledge
if sleep means i sleep well for 15 mins i choose that
otherwise knowledge
Knowledge. easy. That makes you more money, which leads to all the other ones combined.
Some games do have crit resistance specifically to avoid people who abuse the crap out of them.
"Get fucked!" and "Eat shit, nerd!" are some of my favorites. :)
Take the 100$ and buy me a prostitute
50 hours and +15 minutes of sleep / night are by far the best. 50 hours is enough to get you over the initial hurdle so that you're less likely to give up, and sleep is the strongest permanent bonus.
Knowledge if it can be used multiple times > sleep =strength
Knowledge is actually super fucking good and objectively the best option here.
Immunity to lightning strikes. Then I dress up in tesla coils and become a super villain.
The burger is the only non-shit choice.
I choose the video game one, can get a decent result out of that.
Assuming the same swing speed, blue.
congrats you are the only true Yea Forums core poster in this thread
Hug from waifu.
sleep, i could really use that extra 15 minutes
the breath one is tempting since brushing your teeth every day is annoying but it says nothing of actually preventing disease
Expected Value of 1 is 140 and of 2 is 150.
you both died by lightning
>the breath one is tempting since brushing your teeth every day
enjoy your teeth rotting.
Second because has a fun mechanic, and also pulls more dps
>he doesnt wear chainmail outside in a thunderstorm
Your post makes no sense. Out of the two, the highest damage possible is 200.
Where the fuck did this guy pull 280 from? Is he retarded? Maybe
Hug. I really want a hug from my waifu.
>almost all the choices are retarded shit except for 2 which are completely broken when compared
based realist vidya related poster
Pick two rage swords and then get myself to 1% health.
Brainlet opinion:
>right stick big dps
200IQ opinion:
>right sword is less reliable and will waste extra dps on overkills
First sword
For 10 hits you deal 1400 damage
Second sword
For 10 hits you deal 1500 damage (5x100 + 5x200) since half of them are crits
hurr
since knowledge thing is only 1 use the video game and birthday are the best the resting one is nice but only 15 minutes isnt really worth it
I'd take the pendant and then fuck that qt shopkeeper
why chose anything but pendant?
Critical chance, as always.
Crits are universal. I admire your efforts on all those calculations user.
>league of legends
>literally 2% critical chance on my build
>win an early duel because I lucked a crit in there
>type out "outplayed"
enjoyed every tear
Blood and Ether. Trade blows and instantly kill them while taking comparatively little damage because you have armor and they don’t while also healing the damage you took.
Like always it'll be...
I'VE GOT ALL I NEED!
burger
RNG every time
>there are people who would give up the chance of bathe in your enemies tears when you kill them out of luck
Disgusting
One on the right looks better so I go with that
bottom left
boue because random chance means more dopamine highs for my addled zoomer brain
Because the pendant is a trap.
Some psycho that love you too much is gonna cut off your head so she can have you for herself and herself only.
Dude fuck off, too much
Just luna for pvp + gravity or anything else literally
for pve diamond + ether
really depends on alot of stuff
Well if I just pick one the other will be lonely user-kun.
a hug from Fumi is all I'd need in life, although I would already get that from the ring in OP's picture, so I guess $100 would be nice.
Blood + Spikes, the ultimate turtle build, don't even attack once
Depends on what the base crit chance, crit damage and other stats are.
False Savior pendent.
Knowledge skill
aw shiet
then in that case id pick the ring or just leave since the burger may be poisoned aswell
The sleep one is the one you can cheat life with, 15 minutes every day of extra productivity (or being less fucked by your preexisting lack of sleep) rack up real fast. If you chose knowledge you're a lazy shit, you can just acquire it with a bit of discipline. 50 hours doesn't even make you competent past water cooler conversation level at any given skill. If it was a 1000 hours I'd consider it, that way you could at least become *mediocre* at something, or slightly less mediocre at something you're already mediocre at.
Time and Spikes is fun.
This is incredibly autistic
Frost and Time
Assuming the 10% slow effect count off the base speed instead of recalculating the slow with each stack, as long as you get ten hits within ten seconds the enemy is frozen in place
>crit resistance
literally never seen it in a game.
This is a false dichotomy. I'll pick a mace with armor penetration.
Red because half the enemies in the game are immune to crits.
should have tried a get post instead, you would have had a better chance to crit
I choose Gravity + Explosion. I will be the god of ranged swordfighting.
Protean + Death
strike, change shape to hook
wait 3 seconds
????
profit
Been craving burgers lately
>opponent just kills you because you're standing there with your weapon hooked to him
It could be just 1% crit chance and i'd still take Blue for the meme. Imagine how pissed someone would be to get critted for 1%
just run away lmao
Eat all the burgers you want miss goat-cat thing
The 100 bucks
with 100 bucks i can pay 40 dollar someone smart to make my homework/help me in tests. with this i don't waste TIME, so i can sleep more and work out more.
with the 60 remaining i can pay a cosplayer to hug me and i could also buy a Lightning rod.
i could extend my lifespan by not eating like a fucking pig in my birthdays.
i could also hack into the devs server to play the games A WEEK early, not big deal.
what about the bad breath?
i just have to brush my teeth daily, i'm not a filthy slob
100 bucks is the best option, you cant prove me wrong
>with the 60 remaining i can pay a cosplayer to hug me
Pfff
im just proving that with 100 bucks i can do everything on the list you double nigger
do you have a blue blue girlfriend
If Chrono Trigger has taught me anything, it's not to underestimate a fixed chance to crit, especially with a damage multiplier.
Sleep or strength seem like the best choices.
50 hours in a skill is NOTHING
Sleep and strength bonuses are both permanent supernatural boons that will have potentially immense effects on your life.
Resilience in WoW.
>>Luna+Drain for PVP dominance.
Are there any fictional characters that grant you super powers if they touch you?
Or you could just go to the gym
Hug and I would ride that high the rest of my fucking life
Left, procs will always find a way to dick you over when you need them most
Only games for brainlets rely heavily on them because the more chance-over-time your performance is based on, the less you have to actually think about it
I'm assuming it's 5% on top of your gym gains, even past your maximum.
Luna + Judgement
NO WEAKNESS
pretty bold assumption to make, I'd still argue that's not really worth it unless you're built like a tank
For the longest time, decisions such as these have plagued me as to which may be more practically superior, but I just realized if you look at it this way, the choice is obvious.
>Have sword with 100 base damage
>Can upgrade it
>Options are:
>>DMG Up: 40 pts
>>Crit Chance increase: 50%
Between these, I always prioritize straight damage over upgrades that are left to chance, because it'll get me more XP easier and let me get to the other upgrades faster.
immunity to lightning strikes
then make videos where I go to different places with extreme thunderstorms and try to get struck by lightning
>get tender hug from some kind of fictional character that will give you powers upon exposure
>get what you want anyways
hug option is broken, please nerf
That's how it works in just about every video game.
Grab a feat or talent that gives you a 5% bonus on anything and it resolves after everything else.
this
Red sword- 4 swings: 560 damage
Blue sword- 4 swings: 600 damage
Anything four swings or over blue sword wins, anything under red sword is better.
no bad breath
im lazy
Fire Emblem has Crit Avoid.
When a mind does not know itself, it is flawed. When a mind is flawed, the man is flawed. When a man is flawed, that which he touches is flawed. It is said that what a flawed man sees, his hands make broken.
TF2 MVM.
the green hilt is so ugly
Buy the ring and equip it when I'm old.
ragnarok online
Kings rais
OP's pic assumes they're the same. retard.
no it depends on enemy HP range
I swear there's a game where helmets reduce crits. some implementations of D&D maybe.
I WANT TO FUCK THAT DEMON
hug from waifu, other the lighting immunity which is very unlikely, all this shit I can get done some other way.
Alright Yea Forums, now which one do you pick?
Cursed Sword and git gud
I'll pick the hug.
Not a day goes by that I don't miss my friend
I choose sword of Random Elements, elemental attacks are sweet.
Marduk's Teeth, lowered durability doesn't matter if you never get hit.
Have to go with the Cursed Sword, what kind of fool doesn't get the true ending?
Elder scrolls online, Tera, Vindictus etc.
Irrelevant. When both weapons are slow, consistency is preferred (fewer hits = more randomness from the blade), but as attack speed gets faster the chance blade is preferred (as the number of hits goes to infinity, a 50% chance to do double is equivalent to doing 1.5x damage)
Not that guy, btw, but it irritates me to see people say someone else is a fool when they actually make a valid insight.
Depends on how much HP the enemies have.
If they have between 100-140 HP, then the red sword will one shot them all, making it better.
If they have 140-200 HP, the red sword must hit twice but the blue sword can still one shot approx. 50% of them, making it better.
A juicy, tasty burger please.
>pick sin incarnate
>fully empowered after one day
lmaoing @ trinityfags
140
vs
100*.5 + 200*.5 = 150
not sure 10 more damage expected average is worth 40 less minimum dmg
How could you commit 50000 sins in the span of one day?
The prostitute gives you AIDS.
Game Over.
Blood + Curse because i'm a pussy ass tank
Explosion x Gravity
Whichever sword kills the enemies with fewer hits matters more than total damage output, in my book. That's the point I'm trying to make.
extremely easily?
the bible has a ridiculous amount of sins that no one ever talks about
the average person sins 10k times a day, 50k should be easy if you're actively trying
>blood and thunder
Lok'tar ogar
yes and if I was green I would die
Depends how much hp the average enemy has
hell and rage for clutch 1v1 wins
50% critical for 2x this isn't even a competition
If you put 180 base damage on red it'd a harder choice.
>hand to hand combat is the basis of all combat, only a fool trusts his life to a weapon
Thanks doc
only legitimate answer: if most enemies have less than 140 health, the red sword always kills on first hit while the blue sword only kills half the time
if you're just racking up damage on a massive boss, then yeah, blue is better
Red.
There is an intelligent argument for blue in a boss fight, but for general gameplay red is better. Why? With blue you are risking a 1/4 chance at needing an extra hit to kill a basic, 250hp enemy, you can extrapolate this out to a multitude of situations in which, on average, you need more hits to kill an enemy with blue than red. This is of course balanced by times where you double crit on a 400hp enemy, but in an average game situations: double failing a crit will leave an enemy alive (where the red weapo would have not) are more frequently than double critting an enemy will kill them (where the red weapon would have not).
280 is the red sword getting a crit
Burger
Man that was easy
you need to play the Borderlands games...
The cat. Always the cat.
If you have the equipment to make a self sustaining food source and a way to catch rainwater, grapple gun. You go to the top of a skyscraper, you are now immune to both zombies and the real threat, humans.
If you don't have the knowledge or resources to self sustain, the glasses.
The Internet seems useful but there's no way you'd be able to figure out a way to survive humans and zombies with it. Survivors will find you, kill you, take the computer.
The glasses actively warn you about everything, you won't fall into traps, you can travel at night without getting lost and with nightvision. Gathering non tainted useful resources.
Attack speed is 1.0
Raw damage is always better
if an enemy has 100 both will kill him in one shot
if it has 150 hp red needs 2 hits always, blue can do it with one
if it has 300 hp then red will always need 3 hits, blue has a chance for a crit on the first or second hit to be able to kill it with only two, and so on.
double failing crits are as hard to happen as double critting, only hitting half crits is enough to deal more damage than the red sword
"Oh shit, sorry!"
Oh shit sorry, this was in response to
what was this show called again?
