I do admit however, that the GMG gets a pass because it has some good stuff, mainly the Natsu vs. Sting & Rogue battle.

Everything after that was meh, even Tartaros felt a bit bland, and don't get me started on the Alvarez arc.

I still like Fairy Tail, it was a fun series, but the powerlevels and all of that got out of hand, main example would be that one Erza moment, it was ridiculous even for a shonen battle series that revolves around friendship.

I also got disappointed a few times, for example, I was expecting Natsu to 1v1 Zeref and then Acnologia and become King of the Dragons, stupid shit like that, or just a threeway final battle with them with everything at stake without chances of being saved by the usual asspulls. I could elaborate more, but I don't remember much of it to be honest.

I'm going to get this game anyways, I always wanted a FT game like this one (assuming it's like an Action RPG or something).

Liked the Flames of Savage Emotion and that Natsu vs. Zeref was really Natsu, Lucy and Gravy vs. Zeref.
Acnologia was complete bullshit but in all honesty that final arc felt real rushed at the end.
Mishima wanted to move onto Eden's Zero and it shows.
He even said yes to giving somebody else FT so he could have full creative control of Eden's Zero.

I guess the Natsu/Lucy/Gray thing was kind of cool. But I'm more of a 'direct 1-on-1 battles against the big bads' kind of guy, I personally think it has more meaning, especially in Natsu and Zeref's case.

It really helps that it was Natsu that actually beat Zeref in the dust up but he couldn't have done that without Lucy and Gray literally putting him back together and erasing END from his being at the end.
The way I see it Zeref was the climax boss and Acnologia was the "let's wrap it all up" thing, just to put the plot to rest properly.
Also the 100 Year Quest is written by a different guy, FT was the mag's most popular manga at the time and in exchange for full creative control of Eden's Zero Hiro gave FT to somebody else.

Erza is literally the only well written character as she experiences a great character arc and gets amaazing characterization and development. The magic and universe logic are bullshit even by shounen standards and a lot of stuff gets dragged on. It is barely an ok series but can be enjoyable if you literally turn your brain off.
