If I'm remembering my lore correctly, the Helghast's hand was forced by the ISA getting all their juicy territory - I'm not saying the Helghast were the bad guys, but they were definitely the aggressors. Know what I mean?

Reminder that their grievances with the UCN don't actually justify the invasion of Vekta and the murder of innocents. None of the people they killed were directly or indirectly responsible for what happened to them.

All I know is that getting a headshot on them is satisfying as fuck

neither of them are "good guys" and the boots-on-the-ground on both sides died in meat grinders because of the incompetence of the guys sending the orders. The civilians that had nothing to do with the war, however, did not. and helghast retaliated by landing on vetka and shooting guys in hi-vis vests until soldiers showed up. Their retaliation was "justified" to an extent but they landed their ships and just started shooting non combatants

Such a waste of potential, they could have gone down the 'who's the real villains?' but they just made the helghast cliche nazi villains despite the lore suggesting otherwise. Killzone 1 should have been from the helghasts point of view as they're kicked off vekta, Killzone 2 being the invasion of helghan as it was, then Killzone 3 back to the helghast point of view as they try and defend their homeworld
