They are bad and they won't get better. If anything, they'll be more jarring as they will be used for more and more dramatic scenes.
You can easily get past them, though, since robot fighting is fun.
I have nothing against Ashley, but her voice acting in Horizon was awful and very well the worst performance in the game.

It's the language and accents, I get that they couldn't just make up some new language and make you read subtitles, but for some future tribal civilisation that speak english with modern day accents, it's just jarring

This game shot out of the gate setting up a 10/10 story only for the story to get exponentially less interesting as it progressed. I haven't even gotten to any reveals yet as to why things are the way they are, but I'm several hours in and I've completely loss interest in the story aspect.

The worst are those dumb vistas with the guy’s recordings. They were so boring and melodramatic but I was sure they were gonna lead to some big payoff after finding them all and they don’t. There’s no big twist or reveal or any kind of interesting closure. Literally nothing but some sad sap droning about bullshit from beginning to end.

Hunting down Olin. Just had to google the synopsis to remember his name and realized I'm basically still at the beginning of the story, damn, I thought I was like halfway through the game. I kind of take back my criticism and think I'll give it a bit more time to progress, I thought what I had seen was the first half but it was more like the first 4%. Hopefully it gets better.

The tribe shit was exactly what was boring me to death, I'm relieved to hear it gets better. I'm actually looking forward to getting farther in now. Beating the first cavern was awesome, but to immediately go from that to the tribe stuff was such a let down.
