I only have my comptia A+ cert and a CCNA and I managed to get a T2 helpdesk job that pays ~49k a year as my first job to build experience. I work in ICU but most of our patients are old ex smokers already with a dozen different problems, we basically just prologue their suffering a few more months and send them to rehab untill they inevitably come back to die.

I try to never buy food or drink at work unless its part of a lunch meeting or w/e. I also keep a bunch of microwave oatmeal in my desk, its just as cheap as cup noodles but way healthier.

I did not know much at all about it nor had I graduated college yet so the guy had no reason to hire me, yet I decided to apply anyway for the heck of it, and I ended up getting the job as a junior developer because the guy liked my CV and the work I had done when programming as a hobby.
