There's definitely some uncanny valley going on here. All the character models like slightly off and I think it's because the skin looks too realistic and maybe has to do with UE4's sub surface scattering.

That's how animesque designs end up when you inject them full of detail - very high polygon counts combined with mo-capped facial animations, realistic shading, skin tones, subsurface scattering and realistic lightning effects makes them look really uncanny. Like living dolls or some shit.

Deal with it, it's either this, full on realism, or simplified, hyper-stylized cell shaded graphics. This middle ground between the two will always look awkward, it wasn't made for current hardware, it was made with spiky, low poly hair and octagon mouths in mind.
