I'm new to the fgg, what happened
/fgg/ hates anything that isn't capcom.
But anyway nu-GG has sort of a small audience.
It looks like a million bucks, but when it comes to actually playing the game, GGfags will always just stick to GGXXAC+R (god i feel stupid just typing that out, if that's not testament to how absurd fighting games re-releases can get, i don't know what is).
So yeah, we can all jack off on how pretty it looks, but at the end of the day GG fans are far too elitists to actually stick with the new games.
/fgg/ hasn't been in a good state since SFV was released, pretty much.
Nowadays it's just SFV general and they get really mad whenever they see a non-Capcom fighting game doing good.
>GGfags will always just stick to GGXXAC+R
Absolutely false, GGXrd was considered to be massively dumbed down compared to AC+R and people still moved over.
This has always been the case, it's not just because of SFV.
Capcom is to /fgg/ what FOTM hip hop artists are to Yea Forums.
Nigga that's simply not true.
Playing the game when it's first released isn't "moving over".
They'll play it for twitch bucks but then always go back to AC+R long term.
Hell, if you know about the arcsys scene at all you know they'll ever play utter garbage like BB Cross Tag for that sweet sweet twitch cheese.
It doesn't mean their heart is in it at all past the initial honey moon.
>This has always been the case, it's not just because of SFV.
There was definitely some Capcom bias but it was nowhere close to where it is right now.
People who stuck with AC+R were more crazy lunatics like Mike Zaimont rather than the actual GG community. Most japanese pro GG players moved over and are still playing the game at Mikado.
Nah, they had a bias before but you could get general discussion about other games. Now it has been concentrated to the most insane SF fanboys, who can't even decide what they like cause they can't talk about SF there either. Before it was someone might call an anime game dead, now they will go on a 3 hour spamming fest cause someone made an off hand comment. Posting their folders of player numbers, twitter screen caps, steam pages, while false flagging themselves that kappa and discord are out to get them.
Even the trips all left, not even they want the attention.
If you're a GG fan and aren't a crazy lunatic, are you even a GG fan?
That's like saying you're a VF fan and you don't live in a cave in the middle of guatemala developing sick abs from a combination of starvation and OCD fueled daily excercise when you aren't bodying nigs and VF is literally the only game you've played in decades because everything else becomes superfluous.
Being an insane elitist is half the fun of the scene for these games.
>who can't even decide what they like cause they can't talk about SF there either
Well, it may be because SFV isn't that good.
It's because SF was never good in the first place.
>utter garbage like BB Cross Tag
t. Didn't play the game
Can confirm, Guilty Gear fans refuse to be a part of /afgg/ simply out of spite, and because /afgg/ is garbage, mostly blazblue and waifufagging, and a lot of the anons there only care for Guilty Gear.
We are all insane lunatics and worship Daisuke and his son Sol Badguy.
I disagree with that. It used to be good before Ono stepped in, although always in a sort of directionless state because they never had a stable creative team for each game so every game had different creative people working on it.
lots of the gg fans i know are talking about quitting fighting games if its disappointing
These trailers have been hype as fuck. I have never played GG before but I think I'm gonna pick this one up.
Just note you're going to lose a lot at the start. GG2020 will likely be simplified a bit to make it far easier to learn for newbies, much like how Xrd was also simplified, so it'll be easy to hop in.
But series vets are still going to kick your ass. You'll have to bite the bullet and practice.
Think of fighting games as inversely fun to other games. Most games start off really fun and then get boring as time passes on, fighting games start off as boring and become really fun down the line.
No one should want to associate with /afgg/ in the first place. That place is a fucking mire of attentionwhoring moreso than most fighting game generals
the pre-release window really killed the game
K
/afgg/ is a lot more tolerable these days because many tripfags left to become discord trannies or whatever. It's still fucking wild that they were circlejerked so much instead of being told to fuck off like in a normal discussion.
RENT FREE
Don't even tell them to fuck off, either use Yea Forums X to anonymize the tripfags or filter them.
They use the name because they want attention and recognition, and you're giving that to them by telling them to fuck off.
Oh shit nvm for some reason I thought you were talking about /fgg/ not /afgg/ I don't associate with /afgg/ so I don't know what goes on except the autism that leaks out from time to time.
/afgg/ basically has it where, at the start, most people were just talking about the games instead of playing and anyone playing that was remotely shit that could beat the training-mode only people started getting name-dropped that people started putting people up on pedestals. So you got not-even good players hailed as good and it becomes about the player instead of the game they're playing and then it degenerated into blog shit and falseflagging as a given celebrity player causing dramas between other celebrities
The stalking community in /afgg/ is atrocious, they'll never forget what you said and always bring up screenshots of archived shit, it's actually uncanny how much they stalk others.
The issue with most of the retards on /vg is *literally* LITERALLY that the game, listen, it is b-e-c-a-u-s-e it looks TOO FUCKING GOOD. Yeah, those fucking idiots are salty because the game looks just way too good. So good, you can't say bad stuff about it. So they tear themselves to shreads on conspiracy theories about gameplay downgrades taking stuff out of their asses with the basic gameplay shown on the videos (that are clearly made to show it off not on a technical level.) So yeah. Dear LORD, the autism man, those autistic levels are out of this world.
>cant handle opinions in a general
>make a thread on Yea Forums to cry about it
>dont even discuss the game
so I see this game will be dead on arrival.
They are so starved for attention they would do ANYTHING to get it.
THAT IS BULLSHIT
People still play Xrd, the ones who whine that it's not AC+R are a minority who never bothered with Xrd passed its release to begin with.
That or they are MikeZ
so does that mean the trailer is good and they hate it or the trailer is bad and they hate it? I'm sure /gg/ likes it
The trailer looks good
But attentionwhores still shitposting because they want attention and want to be special
I thought you were just exaggerating but goddamn they really are upset.
>always go back to +R long term
The only person I know who Unironically plays +R more than Xrd is Mike Z
Does MikeZ even do anything these days
outside of shitposting
Skullgirls I think. Which could be in and out of itself be one massive shitpost.
Making Indivisible.
Pretty sure he's done trying to make fighting games.
That's because SF5 is genuinely bad unlike 4 which was decent at worst but improved to be quite good. Capcom basically built the FGC but now it's only relavent because of the prize money on offer, and the top level players admit as much on a regular basis, but Capcom fanboys are a different breed from fighting game fans and they are not happy with the latter group moving on without them.
WHERE IS MY BABBY'S FIRST WIFE ELPHELT
eh the slowdown still look mad weird, some is editing but in general it seems like they want it to be easier to confirm and combo. It is like samsho hitstop but in a game where combos are a thing
I sure hope the PC community doesnt dry up the day after release
>Elphelt
>anyone's wife
Predict his new design.
>torn trenchcoat
>gray hair
>beard
looks like this GG will have another fanbase that cares more about shitting on other communities/games online than actually playing the game and supporting the scene.
you are making your own bed.
wifebeater under jacket/coat
He won't be in the game
u wish
First guilty gear game I bought was Rev 2
Venom is a mad man of a character
I remember when /fgg/ was actually good, played more than just the latest SF title and actually had meaningful discussion going on despite a bunch of retards like Luvcheez and that guy who shills Hitbox like crazy.
FightanVidya was good.
GG x BB (and only those two) crossover game when?
Fuck yes. I've been looking all over for this image.
There's not much to say besides that ASW is on a potential win streak and currently the top dog of 2D fighters.
ArcSys is currently pushing the envelope regarding fighting games. Capcom is more concerned about the surroundings, like eSports or pleasing to whales, and while they tried some few good things with SFV like crossplay the bad just outweights the good.
Guilty Gear has the potential to be great. I don't even care about the dumbed down drama, as long as it feels like GG, and going by trailers seems like it will, they're going to be gucci.
What they need to do is just push for good rollback netcode and crossplay, or at least just the former. If they do both they can get the title of King of fighting games.
>ArcSys is currently pushing the envelope regarding fighting games
Visually they are, but so was Xrd and that didn't do much for the series. Still had low player numbers. Just look at these threads, nearly no game play discussion. Just OMG I LOVE MAY GUYS SHES BEEN MY WAIFU THIS NEW LOOK OWO.
>Capcom is more concerned about the surroundings
Capcom is concerned with dumbing down, the same thing you defend here. Plus ArcSys is also pushing a esports series that it will mostly likely try to expand on.
> top dog of 2D fighters.
Top of what? Sales? Players? Views? Getting internet points that don't translate to anything in the long run?
I want to impregnate new May
/fgg/ is a dead general ever since fighting game players made their own real generals for their games. Just go to Tekken general, GG general, DBFZ general, anime fighting general, etc. That's where actual game discussion takes place. There's like one guy left in /fgg/ who basically argues with himself all day.
He's in, right?
Completely untrue. And you know it.
SF 2, not good?!
Would you?
See me in Super Turbo rfn
I don't see other anons claim to have knowledge of generals they clearly don't visit, why do you guys?
He's dead
May wears his gloves
>/vg/ generals in general
I mean, why would you even care, they're mostly all shit
Will she be able to mist finer using her anchor as well?
That was in her EX moveset back in XX.
I hope for :
- Rollback netcode
- Cross-platforms online
- Baiken with a better design
- fkn huge anime titties
release the fucking song already
I'd say all of those are a bare minimum. Ideally we'd get Skullgirls netcode, a full suite of online features like leveling up, daily rewards and challenges, lobbies where you can play a bot match/training mode if everyone else is busy, playing best out of three with 2 other players on a team vs mode, increased social aspect for the arcade theme, etc, all kinds of things other big and popular online games are doing. Onboarding systems are important for modern games especially since this one is attractive enough to keep zoomers hooked if Japan put the time in to make it a half decent treadmill game on top of being just a good fighting game.
Crossplay with PC would remove any reason for me to play SFV anymore, so I hope they go with that.
I want Young Clive
With all bullshit in GG, easly would bring back.
I don't know why fighting games don't take ideas from other multiplayer games like the challenges/rewards shit you mentioned. Beat 5 people a day for 5 days and get this special color, accumulate enough levels/funbucks with Sol and you can give him a special weapon skin. That sort of thing. SFV does it but it makes you PAY just to do it, with a currency you can't even really grind anymore because they give you a pittance of it, which makes me not want to even do them.
Jhonny Cervantes?
>makes the game "simpler"
>actually makes it more deep, but the retards at /vg/ don't understand this
youtu.be
>yfw May is aging now but very slow
>Ky and Sol still young because gears
Shit this would be a change for turning charcters older?
Sin aged fast now looks like Kliff
Millia "daugther"
Chipp a experient president
It's Japan.
They are locked in their very closed and individual way of thinking. If we get only one of these feature I'll be seriously surprised.
LAZY
We're one step closer to a full version of THAT IS BULLSHIT BLAZING STILL MY HEART IS BLAZING
That's all I care about.
>here's some examples
>Chemical Love
>Bandit Bringer
>Slayer
As controversial as it might seem, I'd even suggest they release an online only version for a reduced cost or even free. Getting people in the door is good for a franchise like GG because Daisuke is already auteur, getting money just enables him to do more of what he wants when he's unlikely to sell out his baby.
>GG free version
>Only Sol is available with one other random character rotating on a weekly basis
>Barebones with only online versus/training modes enabled
>accumulated levels/money/fight statistics/replays/whatever are saved, but only accessible once you purchase the full version
Honestly I can see it working, but giving a game out "for free" is a hard sell to any developer.
>A bunch of ERP retards decided to fuck off
They were always cancer. Generals are always ruined by tripfag circlejerks.
I used to visit it. They were mostly clueless retards and the sniffposting was out of control.
The general circle jerks about them anyway, then digs up info on randoms to circle jerk about them
sfv has cross platform and player base. so once again, when GG comes out, someone will post the STEAM numbers for GG then make a thread with " oh nonononon hahahahah" then we'll have another fgg war. i'm getting power rangers next week anyway.
It really shouldn't be. If you allow someone to say to their friend "dude you should play some GG with me!" and it's free, that person is more likely to try it out. So it increases exposure through word of mouth, it acts as a demo, and it inflates playercount online so easier matches. If you throw in that idea of team matches where each player gets a round (I think KoF or something already does this), a complete newb can get spanked but if his team wins he gets to feel like he won or that he wants to not be a dead weight in the future.
Even StarCraft is free now. The biggest games EVER are free, even CSGO was free in a bundle for most people. It's an easy way to get people in to the game. If you lock majority of single player features and local matches behind a paywall your core audience will still buy in and keep you afloat, so jew the fuck out of free players who don't care with some stupid bullshit like "buy and complete 3 season passes and it will count as a purchase of the full game" or some shit.
>i'm getting power rangers next week anyway.
Based. I've been waiting for the PC version for what seems like years. I hope it's not horribly optimized, though it looks like the game would run on a toaster so I'm not too worried.
>Ky
>gear
Slit your wrists.
Gear AIDS
literally can't get crossplay because one the game is too popular and two. im pretty sure ps4 would object. like i said in a previous post, im getting power rangers annd xbox, switch and pc will have cross play, but not the ps4 version. thats how much Sony hates it. im wondering how modern warfare got away with it.
I'm at work so UI don't have the picture here, but the steam and PS4 population are roughly equal at any time.
Free/budget version seems like such an obvious step for fighters and they rarely take it. Only games that are screwed from the start like KI. The core fanbase will buy regardless, they want access to every feature. The casual who wants to play single player will end up buying, but being able to try the free version tempts more in. People who otherwise wouldn't look will try cause hey it is free, either leave right away or at least put some money down. Make it easy to run on PC and a bunch of Russians will keep the game alive for you.
Doing so they can actually justify having less content. F2P version and $40 full version advertised more as the complete pack. if someone goes hey where is time attack mode, the answer is well this is a F2P game what did you expect? Add in some freemium currency and you are all set. Instead we get wonky full price releases.
I love the new May so much.
I still play on PC. What are you even talking about?
>Wanna be Crazy
>Heavy Day
>Lily
>Ride the Fire!
>Birthday Train
>Storyteller
>Tsuki no Shihai
How will they top this?
>because one the game is too popular
What? It isn't and that wouldn't stop it. Xrd only released on PS3, PS4 and PC. And PC+Sony crossplay has been okayed before like SFV or Rocket League. Did you mean not popular enough to justify it?
Thassa good video...
ABA when?
Faust gets a new pacient!
yes, sony wants restrictions on crossplay, even on sony/pc crossplay. theres a game on steam called starlords that has pc+xbox crossplay and pc+ps4 crossplay, pc players can play with both consoles but both consoles will never play with each other. but wait till the asw interviews start there just gonna take on a chibi online lobby thats outdated and call it a day. it's like the entire fighting game community is daft t the fact that a niche genere like fighting games literally needs crossplay for a longer life.
Robo-Paracelsus (canon) is now working at Venom's bakery, so...
As if I'd be a cuck and pay for a PS4 version where I'll have to pay for PS+. Nah. Sony can suck it.
I think he makes a good point overall, but such a direction does come with risks. SFV has a lot of the same philosophy, you were meant to have less options but more strong universal tools. Which also applies to the characters, a lot of your buttons have a very similar use in that game. Problem is along the way they lost a lot of the abilities tools had. And I can kind of see that in ArcSys latest attempts to make simpler fighters. GG has a lot more to wear down before it reaches that stage, and he did a good job at explaining how they can add depth in better ways while doing so. But I'm still concerned.
game looks amazing but
it will not have a good netcode
it will not have crossplay
it will be dead in the west after six months
you already know that, don't delude yourself
Let me have hope.
>it will not have a good netcode
Netcode is already works. Never had any real troubles.
from the one I generally visit
/fgg/
>literal CP and Gore posting
>nobody actually play anything because the one who do went on to make their own general and not play their game there instead
>pretty salty about other games being played
>no one ever play anything with each other
/afgg/
>literal CP and Gore posting probably by the same dude from fgg
>full of tripfags and general eceleb drama on daily basic
>upper echelon discord faggotry
>certain tripfag keep sharking on literal noobs because he cant beat anyone who know how to play
>people who actually play the game rather go on Yea Forums and make lobby there instead
/tekgen/
>nonstop fart sound tier of shitposting
>no tripfag but full of shitters theory/streambore telling other shitters wrong information
>no one ever play anything with each other
and desu I cant tell which is worse
>roster cuts
aaaaand it's shit
I need dat ass
Who said that?
Some butthurt /fgg/ shiposter.
I genuinely think /fgg/ is the worst general on /vg/ right now. Shit is worse than /sc2g/.
/vg/ was a mistake as a whole.
They simply should have forbid generals.
Nice try
Not enough working for free jannies to do that
cope eop
He's relevant to the plot and Daisuke likes him, so I'd say he's pretty likely. Probably the most likely Xrd newcomer after Sin, assuming you want to count them as Xrd newcomers rather than GG2 newcomers.
Would be a waste of a sick theme if he gets cut
the Valentine's sell way more merch and Elphelt is one of the most played characters
Not PS4 exclusive, not sure if this will be numbered, not a Xrd game, not a reboot, not all Rev 2 fighters will return, continues Rev 2's story, gameplay done from scratch, music done by Ishiwatari.
/vg/ is a containment board for Yea Forums just like /mlp/ was a containment board for Yea Forums. The rampant autism was too much to handle so the worst peeps just moved over to their safe-spaces/generals on /vg/, while every semi-sane person kept browsing Yea Forums.
PLEASE RELEASE ON XBOX
I got into XRD Rev late as shit on PS4 and never got a chance to play online because fuck paying for PS+.
I need a good anime fighter on xbox because DBFZ ain't gonna cut it.
*this is a summary of an interview about the game with Ishiwatari*
I know, I'd say they're very likely too, but I still think Raven is a bit more likely than them. I think they'll all be in in any case anyway, the only Xrd newcomers I expect to be cut, aside from Bedman and Jack-O, who will be replaced, are Kum, Answer, which saddens me because he's my main in Rev 2 and maybe Leo, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets in, it's just that he's less likely to be in than the other Xrd newcomers, I think.
>still uses delay netcode
No thanks
Xrd was already somewhat of a mixed bag when it came to character designs. All re-designs of old ones were absolutely glorious, new ones were hit or miss.
For example Kum was perfect and fit within old guilty gear design philosophy, Leo was a shitty ass uninspired character that looked like he belonged in fucking BlazBlue.
So far every visual design decision I have seen in new Guilty Gear has been underwhelming. Colors got toned down. Sol and Ky still look ok, but the legacy of cancer that was Overture (that was still present to some degree in Xrd) is clearly slowly creeping onto them.
That black dude looks like complete fucking garbage. Literally just an uninspired overture-ass cyborg man with two swords, him being black is the only thing that makes him "stand out" visually next to all the generic futuristic cyborg game character designs.
New May is also garbage. Sailing motifs got completely removed if favor of generic ass casual clothing, same for her loli looks that have been a driving force behind her character for two decades.
Also laughing at all the niggers telling that the game will not be dumbed down to shit after what DBFZ and Gran Blue ended up as.
I just realized I haven't thought about /fgg/ in fucking forever, with every other fighter basically splitting into their own shit.
>loli looks that have been a driving force behind her character for two decades
Uh-huh, some loli indeed.
/fgg/ is basically capcom central and waifuposting
the arcsys general is probably just waifu posting.
i kinda quit after sf5 and the other games released during this gen. ive always been bad but this gen is the only one where i tried multiple games and none of them makes me wanna play fighting games anymore. i honestly spent more time trying to find matches in dbfz then actually playing the fucking thing.
>GGfags will always just stick to GGXXAC+R
But that never was the case you newfag
Have you actually played any of the games or did you just google official art in attempts to find a single piece that make her not look like a loli?
I'm not even arguing about whether she is one or not, I am talking about the fact that the vast majority of all interactions between her and other characters involved her acting like a child or getting pissed at the fact that she looks like one and gets treated like one by other characters.
speaking of the black dude... Is Japan succumbing diversity inclusion agendas?
New interview literally says that since they're building from the ground up again not everyone will be in but they'll try to meet everyone's expectations which is PR speak for get fucked if we don't choose your character
I'd say no if he didn't look so fucking lame and uninspired. But maybe that's how that whole game is going to be.
the new models are already a dead giveaway that they wont add everyone. imagine having to redo the models for all those fujcking characters + add even more charaters.
i hope potenkin gets a cool redesign again
>another GG the west is going to pretend to play but not even fucking touch outside of evo season
>Also laughing at all the niggers telling that the game will not be dumbed down to shit after what DBFZ and Gran Blue ended up as.
this is the main thing that needs to no happen. i hope they go back to ac+r. dumbing down the game won't help sales wise imo
Interview with Arcsys on the new Guilty Gear - Not PS4 exclusive - Not sure if this will be numbered - Not a Xrd game - Not a reboot - Not all Rev 2 fighters will return - Continues Rev 2's story - Gameplay done from scratch - Music by Ishiwatari
Yeah, I can kick your ass in Xrd.
>the fact that the vast majority of all interactions between her and other characters involved her acting like a child
Oh, so it wasn't about her design but more about her attitude? She still can act like that in 2020 you know.
In what way was Kum's design perfect? She doesn't particularly look like a perfect fit for XX to me, and the character is also a low point in expressiveness in the series for me, typically both the character's designs and animations in Guilty Gear do a great job of expressing the character's character, but in Kum's case the character's whole gimmick is in the body being a mech, but there's only three or so animations where you even see that and none of them are attacks, so that whole part of the character just feels tacked on. I don't know how you see Leo as a Blazblue character, I kind of get where people are coming from when they talk about some GG characters that way, but I've never even hear someone suggest that about Leo and I still don't see why you're suggesting it.
GG2 had good designs and was fine aesthetically, at least in artbooks, they didn't always translate it into the game well. I would agree this game looks like GG2 aesthetically, but I don't see any issue with that. The only thing I can see that May has lost when it comes to nautical references from Xrd is the symbol of the anchor on her chest, and we still don't know what her bag looks like or what that bit of red on her thigh is which could be different nautical references.
It's not about her attitude when interactions between her and other characters have them explicitly stating that she literally looks like a kid or confusing her for one.
I hope we get Justice this time around, I need my big dicked Tekkaman nuke spammer back
>Game won't feature difficult combos.
twitter.com
This triggers the guilty goobers
>Liberal, because character limit. They don't want combos that are too difficult to do on pad, so their objective to make sure people won't need ANY difficult combos in order to contest.
>They talk about recent fighting games having autocombos that make them feel simpler, but they don't make the game any easier for a non-FG player to understand what's happening. They want non-FG players to understand so they're going with a different approach.
Huho, people will be pissed
It's a "liberal" translation according to the guy who tweeted that. Daisuke mentioned "arcade sticks" so I think he was more implying that while they're still designing the game with sticks in mind they'll make it so certain combos may be easier to perform on pad as well.
Can we get an actual translation of the interview instead of these "tidbits"
good maybe people will actually be able to play the game now
>in order to contest
It's likely going to be more irrelevant shit like stylish mode that doesn't actually impact the game then
okay
Kum's beauty is in the concept. They idea of an old man that is actually piloted by a girl is something that belongs next to weeaboo drug dealer president, female amputee Kenshin with huge tits, time traveling whore who fights with a guitar etc.
Leo has none of that. He's just some generic ass uninspired anime dude in weird anime clothes who fights using weird anime weapons.
Which is exactly why he belongs in a game like Blazblue next to other generic ass anime guys with generic ass anime weapons. Same for that new nigger. Is there anything interesting that you can tell about him by just looking at his design? Hell, at least with Leo you can kinda see his personality shining through his looks, but that new dude doesn't even have that.
It also says this though, which doesn't sound like it would bother many people.
>/fgg/ hates anything that isn't capcom.
DOA6
That kinda contradict the second point.
Leo is the same as Johnny by that criteria
I love Guilty Gear's soundtracks but suck at the games.........I really wish Capcom's fighting game weren't a joke
>they'll make it so certain combos may be easier to perform on pad as well
I hope May's hoops are still "hold/release button".
>yfw stylish mode will just be the game now
There are two outcomes
Either all combos are going to be super short 3-5 hits only
Or a special control scheme that makes combos not auto but a lot easier to grasp.
will raven be in? i just want to unga my wins
>Is there anything interesting that you can tell about him by just looking at his design?
Yes. He is Ram's summons turned into human or something like that. Maybe Ram's summons posessing someone.
I want to get into GG. Which games are must buy and which should be avoided? I Have apc, switch and ps4
buy GG2
avoid the rest
Based.
this
Inspirations for Johnny are extremely clear though. He still wears somewhat recognizeable clothing and fights wit ha real weapon. While not as cool as old designs went he's still two heads above le epic pantaloon man.
>GG2
>Overture
>Buy Overture
>Buy
>Overture
This is lore trash that might as well be wrong. It tells absolutely nothing about his personality and relies entirely on you recognizing designs from Xrd.
I don't you got the memo, Raven isn't unga anymore
how hard is it to get into gulity gear? i was OK at soul caliber
SFV's biggest problem is that they ignored a lot of core designs of SF. High pushback for stronger moves, normals with long hitboxes, good walkspeeds, air to airs forcing the one hit to deal with pressure basically no matter what, etc.
SFV removed all of this and added gimmicks.
It's dirt cheap if you have to buy it.
I'll miss (oppai)loli May, but her new design is so good and I love it!
>GG2020
>Combos are SF style, only a few hits long
>Corners are just like breakable walls in Tekken, increasing damage potential but not allowing for corner pressure due to stage transition
Would you still like it? A Guilty Gear with more focus on neutral game and less oki.
>Kum's beauty is in the concept.
I agree it's a good concept, but what good is a cool concept without good execution? The idea of an old man being piloted by a girl suits Guilty Gear well, but I would expect Guilty Gear to emphasise what makes Kum unique a bit more because without the girl inside he just comes off as an old monk-type character with nothing more to him than that, and that's how he feels a lot of the time because the part of his design that makes him unique is so underutilized. If you think Leo's boring that's one thing, personally I don't think having a guy who's just cool is that unlike GG considering you have characters like Johnny, but I still don't see what makes him feel like Blazblue from that. His weapons aren't that weird and he's not wearing weird anime clothes, he has a relatively simple design compared to your average GG character and your average BB character. I don't see what makes him feel like he's from BB.
There's barely anything to go off of with the new guy so I wouldn't expect to have a good grasp of his personality yet, but you can still at least see that he's a serious guy, so I wouldn't say there's no personality to him, it's not like he was grinning like Axl would or something, and he didn't look like Ky who keeps a straight face out of resolve either, he just comes off as stern. I would hope he'll have a more clear personality expressed in his moveset, but if what we saw of him was just his intro then it's about as much personality I'd expect from an intro, it conveys his personality as well as a lot of the ones from Xrd do with their character's.
>This is lore trash that might as well be wrong.
Do you need any more clues? Literally same sword, same color scheme and story point at this as well.
Yes despite knowing how gay it is, I love traps and collect trap doujins.
You can buy Rev 2 on PC or PS4, it doesn't really matter. If you want to try something older get AC+R, but you probably won't find others to play with in that.
very
They'd play a guilty gear without meter so why not
Why, yes of course.
You can keep May's new look, but if they pull this shit on Ramlethal I'll riot
Combos in Xrd are already typically not that many hits, more hits than in SF, but still not that many. There are exceptions like with Chipp, Ram and some others, but in general they're short enough.
Ramlethal is getting a new design no matter what retard
her prosthetics and weird teeth dress are definitely gone
still my heart is racing
Remember how everyone was supposed to like SFV because removal of vortex, 1f links, throw loops etc would totally make it all about fun and cool neutral?
Now imagine SFV without an army of drooling capdrones ready to defend and make up excuses for everything bad about the game.
This is what you will get in new Guilty.
If the game's going to be casualized trash with dumbed down character designs and deep mechanics and execution barriers removed then you may as well go and play Granblue instead, at least the last one will have big hype tourneys with big prizes.
/fgg/ have always been capcom fighter general. good ridance people started making other generals since sfv happened.
the retards will also polute other fighters general every time something new comes out
her prosthetics mean that her weird teeth dress*
It's not that hard.
Shown too much skin.
Need to cover it up to appeal to the western audience.
I though people liked SFV's gameplay, just hated everything else around it.
>I want to get into GG. Which games are must buy and which should be avoided?
Must buy/pirate: GG (ONLY original PSOne release, avoid Steam's garbage port at all costs), GG X (Dreamcast or PS 2's X+), GG Reload (ONLY Korean on PS 2 or online-patched PC), GG Slash, GG Accent Core (NOT + or +R), Xrd (only PS 4, PS 3's version is garbage) and Rev 2 (only PC, PS 4's version is somewhat fine, but it has worse frame pacing and online sucks). You can completely ignore Overture (GG2) due to it being inept mix between a musou and a tower defense (I'm NOT fucking with you), though it's CANON and is essentially a direct sequel to original PSOne's GG while also being prequel to Xrd. It's NOT important, though, and can be completely skipped. Vastedge, however, should be at least read as translated scripts, as it's a direct prequel to Rev 2, a midquel between Xrd and Rev 2. Reload, Slash, and Accent Core are all Dream Matches and are uncanon, but they're solid gameplay-wise, with Reload being the most solid of them all, so if you wish to learn basics and get deep into it, better start with Reload. Petit and Petit 2 can be played for funsies, but they're Dream Matches. Dust Strikers and Isuka are uncanon fanfics. Judgment is PARTIALLY canon, but NOT entirely. It's complicated.
Basically go:
GG > GG X > MAYBE GG2 (it's BAD) > Xrd > Vastedge > Rev 2 > 2020, if you wish to know the story by the correct timeline.
>I just realized I haven't thought about /fgg/ in fucking forever
>talking about a video game general like it's a girl you obsess over
typical /vg/ poster, right here
>start GG
>find out I need to do some weird link air dash combo that's got different routes depending on character weight that you have no way of knowing unless you looked it up to know who has what weight
dropped
why would Sin age fast if he is more of a gear than Ky?
It's dirt garbage.
See .
Does Xrd have something like alternate costumes that are not just palette swaps?
Only for Elphelt to get her Xrd appearance back
Those are needlessly complicated though. Just play Overture
Imagine trying to sell a character to someone who does not know the game.
>Here we have a secretary ninja who behaves like a salaryman and appoints meetings and shit via his cellphone as he fights.
Wow. That's pretty unique and cool. I have never seen anything like that.
>And here we have this black dude. He has two swords.
???
>Nonono, dude. It's so cool, believe me. As you can clearly see by his design, he's actually Ramlethal's summons turned into a human.
??? Who the fuck is Ramlethal?
Do you get what I mean?
Not really. I think they mentioned somewhere that it's something to do with the lighting being baked into the models that's makes creating new costumes really expensive and time consuming. Might as well make new characters instead
>there are five weight classes
>18 wakeup timings
Fuck this game
The must buy is Rev2. I'd recommend checking out +R for the legacy characters like Bridget, Testament, and Zappa. That's it.
Avoid spin-offs. The X/XX/Xrd series are the ones that represent the series.
Guilty Gear 2 is actually quite amusing, but not really something you should get to get into the series. Rather something you get when you are really into it. After all it's not even a fighting game, so you would not get introduced to what the series at large offers.
It's one of the more complicated fighting games but if you enjoy it it is just a matter of time. In the end it is just a game. Don't get discouraged by people trying to feel hardcore.
If the crazy character mechanics are in, I'm in. I've never been a combo focused player anyway. I just hope the stage transition thing is universal. I don't want the stage selection to be a factor. That's a trashy design choice for trashy games.
I general no. Elphelt has 2 designs over SIGN and Rev so you can get to choose in Rev. That's it.
>I don't want to pay for PS+
>But I'll pay for Xbox Live
wew
Dizzy is 8 years old, you know?
GG is a top heavy game
Starting it's a chore to learn, but the meta is really fucking basic.
Shame. Such wasted potential.
>start Tekken
>find out that every character has 150+ moves each with unique framedata and cancel routes
>tell that you are totally going to quit
>tekken still is second best selling and second most popular tourney-wise title available right now
People like you are a vocal minority that has been ruining fighting games for over a decade.
>more of a gear than Ky?
>EVER implying Ky is a gear
Kys.
...
Dude, answer just looks like a ninja in a suit at first glance. Look at the Xrd rev 2 trailer, answer is in the trailer for like 5 seconds, he looks like a ninja, in a suit. If you pay really close attention you can see he uses business cards as his throwing weapons.
You are comparing a character which you know nearly everything about, with full context, to a reveal which was maybe 20 seconds long and just showed us his looks. Wait until you get more info.
Now lets imagine we make a fighting game from the ground up, not reiterating what we already did in the previous Guilty Gears.
Do long combos make the game more enjoyable and add more depth? they do, combo variety based on the difficulty of combos and other vactors is depth.
But maybe Daisuke intends for short combos to be "viable" enough that new players can rely on them while advanced players can stick to longer ones
Does corner pressure make the game more enjoyable and add more depth? It does, it creates for more unique characters that have different strenghts and weaknesses based on the position on the stage.
But what if Daisuke makes the stage transition mechanic based on choice, a second wallsplat will stage transition for more damage but the player can also choose to end the combo early for better oki?
If you think about it this could lead to a better game that not only is easier to get into without sacrificing depth
Guilty Gear isn't as big as Tekken lmao
You don't need to learn different combos for different weights, especially not when you're just starting out. The average person playing the game doesn't have a separate combo ready for each and every character in the game, so you, who barely knows anything about the game just starting out, definitely doesn't need to know all that. Half the reason people think GG, or even any fighting game, is hard to get into is because they act like they "need" to play optimally, when in reality you would get by just fine if you decided to just learn a more basic combo that will work on most, if not all, of the cast, but instead you drop it because you decided for no good reason that if you're not playing optimally you may as well not be playing at all.
>SFV's biggest problem is that they ignored a lot of core designs of SF.
That's an issue that had been effecting the games for a while though. Since SF3 pushback and walk speed had been going down. SFV has some extra major fuck ups along with it, some of those issues were a result of the series trajectory. Which is what worries me here, it is all well and good to say Xrd was the simplified GG and it turned out okay. But what happens when you go another step down, or another etc. Especially if some other idea creep in it can all go wrong.
In general I dislike this whole thing where the discussion is accepting simplification. Rather than the change being pushed as an improvement with a new interesting expansion to the gameplay along with it. It use to be that each fighter was advertised as doing more than the last. These days it feels more like a weird limbo, our new fighter is totally doing less than the last one but don't worry somehow the hardcore will like it as well!
I think they increasing hitstun so the game is more clear to spectators.
>implying
Gameshare baby, I haven't bought XBL in years.
newfag
Why would you bake shitter combos into your muscle memory lmao, just makes it harder to learn the real shit later
fat may
time to quit guilty gear and play kyanta
>Why would you bake--
>just makes it harder to learn the real shit later
No it doesn't because you and used to the game and the frame data
This training mode for optimal combos is why the Japs rape you. You can watch Japs never go for optimal shit until 2 years after they started playing
Because if you don't then there is no "later". Simpler combos are there for beginners, which is what you are if you're one of the people acting like they can't play the game because they don't know the optimal combos for every character in every situation, there's no shame in using the combos which were designed with you in mind and then learning the more advanced ones when you're at a skill level where they're appropriate.
>ABA when?
This! Please! I need her!
have fun losing every match with Ramlethal unless you learn the real combos lmao
What new trailer?
See .
I really don't see how long combos are making the game have more depths.
If you have a set combo of 100 damage, if you need to perform 3 or 9 hits to reach that damage, it just change the complexity and skill ceiling, not the depth.
Yes but it's note because it is """hard""". Tekken is arguably harder and in much worse ways too. Half of the roster in SF4 was borderline unplayable until you master 1f links and it was the title that revived the genre.
Assuming that dumbing the game down will make people flock to it is a fallacy.
Not him, but I tried looking but all I could find revealing rev 2 for the first time was the trailer showing off him and baiken for a minute and a half and we got a lot more from answer.
As long as the characters are as distinct as xrd, with some having full blown gimmicks, I'll be happy.
99% of people I know quit GG over the shit like character weight, 10+ different wake-up timings and IAD link shit in combos that are basically BnBs
When you have to literally go online and google what each fucking wake-up time frame difference is or what the difference between Elphelt and Sol's weight class is and how that impacts your combos in massive ways the game stops being fun. Shit like that doesn't exist for any other reason than to obfuscate the actual gameplay
If you're losing with anybody it's not because you did a good but more reliable combo over a character specific one. There's a lot more to the game than just the combos and the difference between a good, reliable combo and an optimal one isn't so vast that it's going to make or break every game you play, or even most of the games you play. It'd be very rare that you lose a game solely because you didn't know the character-specific combos for that matchup.
>Tekken is arguably harder and in much worse ways too.
Not at all.
In Tekken most of the moves are direction + attack button, with a few input commands there and there. The combo timings are extremely generous aside a few exceptions, and the execution is overall easy.
The only rebuttal to this would be the KBDs, but that is basically an exploit that was left in to please the retarded koreans.
I feel sorry for the people that want returning characters in a bogged down version of the game. May as well be all new characters.
360 degrees of direction possible, different speeds of walking, running, can jump. Have to learn to turn the head and eyes in the direction you want to look at. Yeah real life is too hard better quit that shit too retard
Everyone is gay for Bridget
Without character specific IAD follow-up shit I-No's bnb is literally just HCL into followup, you can't seriously be saying you'll beat anyone competent with that. It's a shit damage combo
EU PC lobby, up for at least an hour
5wki
>combo timings are extremely generous
>EWGF
>King
>Lee
>Brian
A combo being more difficult but rewarding the player for more damage is depth.
The player purposely decided to practice and use a more difficult combo to get better reward.
GG2020 could have a damage scaling system that would make difficult combos still do more damage, but not so much that short combos do no damage in comparison.
After all, even if the increase in damage between a 3 hit combo and a 10 hit combo was only like 20% more damage, the competitive player would still try to optimize and go for the 10 hit combo if they are willing to practice it.
Wouldn't this make the game easier to get into without actually removing depth? The skill floor is lowered, but the skill ceiling isn't.
>lobbies
You're doing it wrong. Never use lobbies, they're barren wasteland. Only user user created rooms.
You're not going to be fighting competent people all the time, you won't even be getting to those real combos if you're too scared to take the first step and take some licks.
youtube.com
This trailer is the one I meant, but yeah there a more indepth character trailer for baiken and answer I forgot about.
>"viable" enough
What does that mean though? As it stands now you can do smaller but unoptimal combos. So to make it more viable these now do higher damage while being easier to do, which means a player can win a match more easily in fewer combos. From here you can see how there would be knock on effects, maybe long combos doing stupid high damage to make up for shorter ones being more deadly, or they don't do enough to make it worth the effort or resources. Does this make the game more volatile as it is easier to get a win from a couple stray hits into basic combos? Do we need to reconsider how many routes are possible, because some previously small interactions now do game changing damage. Problems easily emerge from your examples, it will change the nature of the game.
It is easy on paper to go oh playing worse is rewarded more but it doesn't consider the effects that can have.
Yes, you will beat others with I-No even with a basic combo because her strength isn't in high damaeg combos, it's in getting you in the corner and making you guess over and over, whittling you down and eventually killing you. An I-No player who doesn't know their character-specific combos would beat someone's ass even if they knew character-specific combos against I-No assuming the I-No player knew how to play their character and the other person was some dumbass beginner who thought that them knowing or not knowing a character-specific combo would make or break their chances at victory. A competent I-No wouldn't even give the other guy the opportunity to use their optimal combo in that situation, and they could well do it with by just using basic combos on their part.
He did put up a user created room, hence the code.
>Don't learn good combos that japanese players use on a regular basis
t.Yea Forums
Long combos is simply raw muscle memory and knowledge burden. I also think long combos are pushing people in the wrong direction and make them learn the wrong things instead of building their fundamentals.
Problem is, working your fundamentals and having no damage output behind it is terribly frustrating.
What you propose is a possible solution, but you perfectly know that will still frustrate the fuck out of beginners.
>Gameshare
What does that mean? You're mooching off someone else's XBL?
>The only rebuttal to this would be the KBDs, but that is basically an exploit that was left in to please the retarded koreans.
KBD is necessary for intermediate and above play. Also KBD is far from the hardest shit in Tekken. Lee has to do miststep combos to do damage, Mishmas are balanced around safe justframe EWGF moves (and at least one is always top tier), and King's wavedash
Frankly the samurai is boring to me too, if they'd done that again instead of play extra fucking coy this time it would probably be better.
>oh look, we have fucking MAY GET HYPE AAAAAA
That's nice and all, but I don't think she's missed a fighter entry, next we'll get chipp or something like nobody expects the trademark crackhead weeaboo ninja to show up. I'm just tired of announcements of announcements that just lead to tiny breadcrumbs of info.
>>find out that every character has 150+ moves
They quite literally do not, there are only a few more moves than the avarage character in SF at best
The most important question is, will may still be a charge character?
The vast amounts of frame data you have to learn is what makes it worse. Also the fact that in tekken you WILL get destroyed by online retards abusing those useless trash normals and strings in hopes that you don't know framedata for all 200 characters for MONTHS before you can get any success in this game.
Despite what people say about GG, you only need some rudimentary fighting game experience and to practice for a couple of days with a character like Raven or Milia to start merking weaker people online.
>I don't think she's missed a fighter entry
She's playable in Rev 2, but STORY-wise she was out for the entirety of the game due to nip AIDS.
You should ask yourself this: was May ever a Mei character? Well, now she's clearly Mei.
It is if you count in all the arbitrary strings and consider the fact that those also have unique frame data despite reusing animations.
Yeah I'm sick of the tiny breadcrumb method too, I would rather they get it out of the way, give us the opening video style, every character with a cut in, doing something cool, type video, then if they want to breadcrumb, give us the more in-depth character mechanics videos over time.
>I'm just tired of announcements of announcements that just lead to tiny breadcrumbs of info.
I don't mind it in this instance because we know the game will be playable at ArcRevo, which is where I expect plenty of info will be shown. I feel like this and the trailer in two weeks is just them keeping people's interest until then, which I don't mind. I only dislike announcements of announcements when it feels like they just keep stringing you along instead of actually showing you something meaningful, but in this case we already know the latest date we'll see how the game really plays, so I don't mind them just showing bits and pieces of the game like this along the way to that.
Cross-play is more realistic than GGPO from ArcSys lol
No ramlethal no canlethal
>playing worse
The player isn't playing worse. He still needs to work just as hard to be able to get a combo in the first place. If he hasn't practiced enough to get a optimal combo going, he will still be able to viably play the game with suboptimal combos.
The only difference is that the gap between those who practiced hard combos and those who haven't isn't as big. And the fact that there is still a difference in rewards between the two means that the competitive player would still want to practice the harder combos.
The ultimate result of this is that the beginner can still play with intentionality at a low level, the mechanics are clear to them. Combos aren't massive memory roadblocks to playing the game properly anymore.
The advanced player can still optimize his gameplay, he can practice more difficult combos and still get rewarded for them.
It's impossible to make the game perfectly easy to get into without sacrificing depth obviously.
Ah yes the second best experience in the world after playing fighting games is playing a korean f2p mmo without paying a cent to reach the top lemme grind 3 more months
Having longer comboes does not mean depth you fucking retard, it means longer comboes
Hell, can you say the characters with the longest comboes are the hardest or deepest fucking characters in your fighting game?
Good job listing the few exceptions user, your reading comprehension has earned you an upvote
really? fat? you people have a problem, you know that?
she's just wearing baggy clothes, she's not fat.
I don't see why she wouldn't be.
Don't bite off more than you can chew, obtuse nigger. Learn to crawl before you can walk. Or just be a bitch and quit and make excuses, it's up to you and anybody who wants to try and get into the game.
>Long combos is simply raw muscle memory and knowledge burden
And execution (especially under pressure) is a skill. So that is 3 skills the person needs to master (with subsets in them, knowledge burden covering so many different things depending on the game) yet you want to say it adds no depth. This whole thing completely bypassing that figuring out your optimal combos is a long process which takes a good understanding of how the game works.
> I also think long combos are pushing people in the wrong direction
Shitters will have bad neutral no matter the game. SF is full of scrubs despite easier combos, playing SamSho I run into Haohmaru's that just j.H all day despite having no combos to learn. Plus new players will be playing other bad players not high rank.
/fgg/ stands for "Fuck Gacha General"?
OH NO NO NO
WE GOT TOO COCKY GUILTYCHADS
Me and my buddy share our games, so any game that he buys I get, and vice versa for me. It also applies to XBL, which he buys.
RIP Guilty Gear.
Does the player go for the difficult 1f link that adds 50 more damage, or do they go for an easier combo that is 100% consistent?
That is still depth, the player still has to make a decision.
STOP STOP IT'S ALREADY DEAD
>tidbits
Yeah just like how the daisuke interview told us how the game would be "casualized" right?
These don't mean anything without context.
>Lei
>Feng
>Baek
>any Law ever
>he wants the game to release in japan for a year before we get to play it
no thanks
why? oh god ishiwatari WHY!?
the story in Xrd was getting interesting as fuck and now they are gonna waste it? we will never see Sol vs That Man? we will never know I-No's purpose? we will never see Raven's last stand? Happy Chaos? Delilah? Aria's fate? all of that, WASTED!?
It is a skill, but it doesn't mean it has depth.
Being able to bench weights is a very difficult skill to learn and train to, but it has basically zero depth.
It's a sequel story wise, dipshit
pad players rise up
they mean gameplay mechanic wise, it's not an XX or Xrd series gameplay for instance
That developpement will be interesting.
Why do you kids even care about what some fuckwit on Twitter thinks? I can't be the only one who thinks this when someone tries to outside reference bomb another thread.
I never said she's fat, however-> ~ .
>he doesn't want the japs to do the legwork figuring out combos
But there's quite literally only 1 option in your fucking stupid example, that's not how ''consistency'' works when talking about the optimal route
There's plenty of options through comboes like ''ok this one wont work because the enemy is bigger/has a different weight'' or ''this moves the enemy much closer the corner'' or ''this is a corner combo''
You do not need to arbitrarily add 2 more punch motions to any of them to make the game deeper
oh, you mean she got ethic'd.
welp, that's kinda worse. i hope that was a decision of CERO rather than sony wanting to censor it.
I'm pretty sure all he means by "not a sequel" is that it's not another iteration of Xrd, which we already knew. I don't have an issue with them giving attention to their overseas audience, I would hope that means they consider better netcode seeing as that's mostly requested outside of Japan, but I wouldn't count on it. I think GG plays fine on a pad already though, personally.
It's a translation of an interview, not personal opinions
Idiot
It's probably not even going to feel like the same game anymore. They might as well have just started another not-guilty gear series
>less setplay, more neutral
Sounds like my dream GG game.
But that's wrong, the best players in the world will still miss 1f links. Otherwise all players would do the 1f combos all the time. But that's not the case, you see many pro players make the conscious decision to not do them.
That's depth.
>SonicFox intensifies
I'm surprised most don't spam this much more. We need rollback netcode.
The game looks amazing and probably plays good as well, but I won't buy it if the netcode is trash as usual... I'll watch some streams (guys that barely have audience) and if many complain about lag, I'm just passing on this one
Remember how American retards have been using arcade release as an excuse for them sucking at street fighter? And then SFV came out simultaneously and they still win just as seldom and europe is the only non-asian place that can win Evo.
Also that arcade release is the best beta/location test you can get for a finished product.
twitter.com
Seems pretty close to Xrd to me
>ArcSys is currently pushing the envelope regarding fighting games
Not with that shit netcode and low player count
It's peak streamboar
Can't wait for Daisuke to be forced to hug him
Is anybody else a SF refugee right now? I got so sick of SFV that I hunted down the 7 other guys who play Guilty Gear in my area on account of being stuck with wifi. Also looking to learn Tekken since a lot of guys play it here, these games are not only way better than SFV could ever be but additionally local play is king and I don't think I'll ever look back. Hope SFVI is good.
what does Mortal IIKombat mean?
>The player isn't playing worse
Yes they are, they are lacking in one area of the game more than other players. Playing unoptimally is playing worse, you are not preforming as well at one of the core aspects of the game. Therefore you should be rewarded significantly less. Rewarding smaller combos more means the reward for more complex combos either needs to be higher, or by not changing becomes overall less important. Both of these have knock on effects as well.
>He still needs to work just as hard to be able to get a combo in the first place
And your solution doesn't actually change this. You just want to make the reward higher, which gives a worse player a higher chance of winning a match. The shadow of SFV really does loom when you guys start arguing for simplification.
>The only difference is that the gap between those who practiced hard combos and those who haven't isn't as big.
I explained why issues are created from this, read my post again.
>The advanced player can still optimize his gameplay
I explained this last time and it didn't sink in. Your idea can easily reduce the how rewarding it is to be optimised. If we go from a 10% to a 5% difference the optimised combos is suddenly less attractive. Even worse if there is a good chance you'll drop it or it takes more resources. This can discourage people from trying to do more complex combos. You aren't thinking your idea through.
*looks
We have no idea how it's going to play yet.
Sonicfag can't play jack shit in GG. He'll never get high enough to be worthy of Ishiwatari's hug.
>Not including all I can do, freesia, or break a spell.
He'll win tournaments in GG2020 because it's the hot new game
As long as there's more story I'm ok with all of this.
They did with Six Black Heavens Guns
>Was going to start playing Xrd
>my character might not even be in the next version
why bother
He couldn't do jack fuck in Xrd and Rev 2, so he won't be able to 2020 either. Unlike with SF, MK, and other garbage, with GG people actually CARE strongly enough as to NOT allow for such fagshit anal rooster bitches to take high places.
May is cute!
What her name user?
Garbo, in comparison to Big Blast Sonic and Divide My Heart.
Bedman's sister was hinted at, and we still don't know what the hell "happy chaos" is.
First, Gears just mature fast, then they'll stagnate and stay immortal.
Second.. Isn't Ky a half gear, because he took his sons nightmare-vision eye and gave him one of his own + having sex with dizzy??
>Bedman's sister was--
Sheded. And heded too.
It's not going to be the same game, it'll probably be easier and if they're serious about closer releases, he'll have the early learning advantage. I don't really like the annoying fuck myself, but if he's interested, he'll jump on and cause some havoc and all his little fleas will be cheering him on.
Ram
He barely touched either and touched them super late into the game. He only played Xrd once in tournament months after everyone played it.
He has a higher IQ than every anime player though, so if he plays he's going to mop the floor during the first weeks while everyone catches up
Nice headcanon fanfics, fag.
>Baiken with a better design
Her Rev2 design was literally perfect you absolute faggot.
SonicFox is already an ArcSys EVO champ tho.....
Does not matter if the game is new or not. The community is what defines how hard is it to win at a title and Japanese guilty gear community has always been two heads above any competition.
I.e. SFV was also a new game and completely dumbed down to favor new and retarded players but it has inherited old SF4 player community which is why Fox has completely failed at it and quit after getting gatekeeped out of top 8 couple of times.
> Yea Forums will defend this
Maybe with these autocombos in, there's actually a fighting game that they can manage to play
I'll wait and see. People pissing and shitting themselves over this is dumb.
this
they actually can't improve it, only fuck up
Sonicfox already said he had interest in playing the new guilty gear, so you're not far off
Is that not a Dust transition? Xrd has the same thing. It's just flashier here.
>He barely touched either
THANK GODS.
GG will stay forever undefiled by the filthy furfags. GG is anti-furfag repellent at this point. Too hard and advanced for the lower IQ anal roosters such as Sonicfag.
But I am? Why should the newcomer be punished heavily into being forced to learn long combos if they want to cater to newcomers with this game?
This isn't a decision between what is the best for optimal players.
This is a decision between how much accessibility can be gained without hurting depth for advanced players?
This choice increases accessibility without hurting depth. The system will barely change for advanced players but be infinitely more preferable for newcomers.
If accessibility wasn't an issue then I wouldn't even be talking about this idea at all.
>Too hard and advanced
not for long
>Unironically caring about anything ArcSys outside of GG
>ever
Slit your wrists, fag.
I'd rather get to play the game when it's still relevant than wait a year retard
Their penchant for these easier games is going to seep into guilty gear too.
>auto-combos
It's just a Dust jump-in, you newfag scrubshit. The animation's been there since Xrd.
And still not even top 4 as far as overall results for it's first year go. And that's despite the fact that DBFZ was new and therefore had no community whatsoever prior to release.
All the furry cucks keep remembering one evo win but forgetting how he would not eve get top 3 on most events that had japanese players.
And, surprise, surprie, now that the game has failed and 40% of the players have dropped it or stopped pracitcing on regular basis, he suddenly got a major surge of interest towards DBFZ despite having his hands full of MK.
how will they ruin her design?
5D9 J.S J.H Air Bandit Bringer. Literally the only part not possible and new is the Air Bandit bringer, it might be an autocombo but it's just a Dust Combo with a fancy ender.
>playing the game is punishment
What do you mean by "this"?Looks like 5D8>j.S>j.HS>Air Bandit Bringer
WHENS RAM
Dusts don't have the generic cinematic knockdown attack at the end. Also this doesn't look like an air combo after the dust chase due to the way the attacks chain into each other afterwards.
Also look at how the attacks chain into each other.
Looks more like they just made camera for dust more dynamic.
*blocks your path*
Hey keep it down will ya?
The way ky just stays at the same elevation for all of that looks weird
>no arcade advantage
Yeah, I wonder if they will release it on PC the same day as consoles.
They won't. Won't be surprised if her design is changed, but I've been given no reason to believe it'll be ruined.
Wow maybe because it's a new game the way dust works is slightly different? Did you ever think about that?
>a non-see through bra
>cotton instead of leather
>17 year old girl is no more
So just how dumbed down is the new Guilty Gear going to be?
If I were a Sol player, I would show you that you can literally do the exact same thing in Xrd. I've seen all those attacks before and I'm 95% sure they link just like they do in that webm.
Except for the Sex part, that eye change thing was hinted in Overture. Which was pretty fucking bad.
It's already happening. Just wait for more announcements. Stylish will be the new normal.
Does that mean they removed the character weight?
Less than people are acting like it will be, but still dumbed down to a degree.
It's being made for pad players so don't expect charge characters or shit like zato.
>Why should the newcomer be punished heavily into being forced to learn
Because learning is the nature of the genre, series have come to value some skills over others. For GG and anime games in general combos are a large part of that, but you are too blind to see that anything you suggest might have any kind of knock on effect.
>This isn't a decision between what is the best for optimal players.
No it is a decision that could easily harm the appeal to people that enjoy the series in the hopes that they will pull in a new ones. All without you suggesting how to actually make other parts more appealing.
>This choice increases accessibility without hurting depth
And you completely refuse to address the wider effects changes can have. You can't make any statement on without hurting depth for advanced players because you can't think of the effects that could happen.
Simplified but without hurting depth.
Just like Xrd
I'm okay with no big character weights and no Dangertime. fuck dangertime
Explain why Ky literally stays at the same elevation as Sol throughout the entire followup combo as if he was locked into place for the cinematic. Explain why Sol does the same. Explain the gravity.
If you've ever one dustloop in GG, you know you have to sligtly change the timing on the reps defending on the character fall speed and how deep you hit them with the j.D.
>Too hard and advanced for
lol
> for the lower IQ
then why is the scene filled with dumb fatfucks and trannies?
>Leo with no charge and insta flash kicks and projectiles
the cinematic knockdown is because he's used the stage transition
It does look like there might be specific moves that are extra cinematic on certain hits and lead to Hard Knockdowns with a chasing landing animation. But in the first trailer, he does j.K j.S Air Bandit Bringer and it does the exact same camera transition. I think Air Bandit Bringer just makes them do that user, it's most likely not an auto combo
The full post is, less bad. But I hate this kind of marketing talk, it is basically
>IT'LL BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, BUT THE SAME!
>IT'LL BE SIMPLE, BUT DEEP!
>THE MODELS ARE NEW SO THAT MIGHT HURT THE ROSTER, BUT IT ALSO WON'T!
>scene filled with dumb fatfucks and trannies
They're fodder, though. They can't play for jack shit.
Why would they remove charges? It is really not hard on pad. Heck, SonicFox and NuckleDu are both pad players that use charge characters.
If there's no fun hook to start, there's no fun to be had no matter how long it takes.
>Simplified but without hurting depth.
Didn't they say the same shit about BBTAG?
>because fuck newcomers
okay
>could easily harm the appeal to people that enjoy the series
In what fucking way? It doesn't fucking change shit for people who have experience in the game at all. If you are an experienced player and lose to a newcomer you should be fucking ashamed of yourself, and giving the newcomer easier beginner combos doesn't change that one bit. This isn't fucking jive where everything is made so easy and 50/50 based that beginners could indeed beat veterans.
Again, this won't hurt depth, nor will it change anything for advanced players
They won't lose to newcomers because of these changes at all.
BBTAG has most complexity removed in favor of tag mechanics. That's a completely different beast.
>Stylish will be the new normal
*turns Maniac on and Stylish off*
>The community is what defines how hard is it to win at a title and Japanese guilty gear community has always been two heads above any competition.
Japan isn't around for every tournament though. Also it's really sad no one believes the western anime scene has any hope to beat SF on their own turf (despite SF yeeting them in DBFZ and UNIEL).
And DBFZ
The wave of casualization is upon you and all you can do is howl, it'll happen to you just like it happened to me.
They're the entire western scene
You're basically saying SF is going to run train until EVO or whatever big major with have a Japanese
weebs are fucking pathetic
>depth
>"auto-combo: the game"
From what we've seen in the trailers without getting our hands on it? Maybe a bit, but doesn't actually look that different. Looks like less combo focus though, with changes like Wild Throw not ground bouncing, probably indicates their design philosophy.
>anime fightings will NEVER be popular in EU
At least in NA you can play them
>it'll happen to you
My main disciplines of expertise are KoF, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Soul Edge/Calibur, and Melty. But nice try anyway, kid.
cdn.discordapp.com
Ahem, what was I saying? Ah yeah, May's cute in this one.
Less combo focus is good
Nobody wants to sit through 15 second ramlethal combos
Ironically charge moves are complained about vocally by scrubs despite starting as the easier intended input method.
based
>They're the entire western scene
I'm not of the burgerlard, so I couldn't care less.
>SF is going to run train until--
Where have you been for the last 20 years, kid?
>Wild Throw not ground bouncing
It better get a damage buff then.
Or just give Sol a standing overhead that's not 5D
You might as well toss KoF off that list. XIV is garbage.
>Where have you been for the last 20 years, kid?
avoiding the stinky GG fanbase like any sane person
No, seriously. I really like her oversized hoodie/shirt. Looks really comfy.
to be fair, GG does not sell well. The only reason this one exist is because ArcSys bent over and let Cygames shoves money up their ass.
>362 KB
It's always easy to input, but hard to combo with, because requires negative edge and other shit like animation cancelling/kara inputs and etc.
I wasn't being ironic or anything, I like the new design too.
KoF scene liked XIV a lot though, it was just ugly. Other entries are more simple as well, XIV still has a lot of autistic max mode combos
>XIV is garbage
Kys, scrubshit. XIV is one of the most solid KoF entries to date, sheer balance and gameplay quality-wise. It's right there on par with XI and more classical KoFs in that lieu.
Yeah it'll probably fucking destroy you if it lands, probably not Pot tier damage, but maybe close. They might give it the benefit of fast recovery so you can set up oki, but we dunno how oki heavy this game is going to be. The Air Bandit Bringer cinematic smash down looks like they being getting up about when you can move again, so if it's like that for everyone, might be way less oki focus.
no
There's probably a big big reason as to why my friend (who drew the pic) was like "oh lawd, i'll be right back..."
then came back with what I just posted in this thread. Still, she's a real qt3.14 in this one. I'll probably play her, actually.
it's so easy to know who hasn't played XIV
u dont play fighting games because charge characters are easier for pad players. theres less movement involved in the left hand. man im so fucking tired of ppl who larp as fg players
Do you tell your friend you fap to his art
Oh I get it, now that it's mostly looked over, it's fine to say its good now.
If I get into this game when it releases, am I a fraud?
You can play them in EU too, you just don't get locals. You may in France, but that's just hearsay.
It was never looked over, you scrubshit. Community was always hot about it and it only got more popular with time, as more chars were added and game was patched/improved.
>Sol with WT Pot Buster damage
That shit is real scary. Also would might as well make Pot himself obsolete.
The online is JUST tier. I don't want to wait for specific time to play game with same people.
Watch them add a dashing command grab to pot this game
>It was never looked over
Everybody was shitting on it, it only came with the hope that SNK might be back in business and XV wasn't going to be as terrible.
Gee I wonder why
Oh right, they shat on it before it came out because of the graphics.
And when it came out and people actually played it they actually liked it.
Online in EU is more than fine, 3F at worst is what you can expect. The biggest problem is partly that Discord is used half the time, and there are so many Discord servers for Xrd alone. I have like 6 I can ask in and the people answering will be different most of the time.
If you just want to press the button and start ranked then you still have SFV, MK11 & Tekken 7.
I mean... He gives others treasures that he is not allowed to bear.
Pic related is an OC of mine, one that has a sun spear, and is a redhead along with being outgoing (yet vengeful). And also kinda... got fucked really hard. cdn.discordapp.com
>mechanic removed
>no more hard combo
>slow down everywhere
>cinematic bullshit all over the place during battle
What's next? No more inputs? 2 button fighters?
I tend to get 2-4f online and I don't have trouble playing online unless it's really early or really late. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a game online right now in EU, I'm not going to check because I don't have good interent where I'm stayng right now so I wouldn't be able to play online regardless, not without a lot of delay anyway, but you shouldn't have that much trouble with the online if you have a wired connection.
WT already leads to a crock-ton of damage even with the forced proration because of the combo follow up and that usually the opponent already has some RISC built when you go for Wild Throw, so if there is no follow up easy oki and it just straight up hard knockdowns, I could see it doing a lot of damage to justify it. But yeah Sol would be fucking terrifying.
Arc Sys please make Slayers command grab better in this one, it doesn't need to be stupid chain grab tier, but I want it to be good!
>implying Pot wont get air Pot buster and 2S Vaccuum back
Hell he'll probably get Heat Knuckle fall down back too
>Everybody was shitting on it
'muridumb is NOT entirety of the world, fAtlus.
It'll probably be more like Answer's command grab as damage goes.
GG becomes fantasy strike
I had a look, I can always understand new players just not wanting to get into Xrd at this point because it's bit more of a faff and bad players are rarer, but there are still plenty of blues & greens.
I will say, although I was speaking in defense of Xrd's online in EU, but I have heard people saying that EU online has a lot of rematch lobbies which I'm sure puts people off as well. I play on PS4 and have never had that issue, so I think it's a EU PC thing, and that lobby in your image just reminded me of it. It often puts me out of my mood to play the game when the only lobby up is a rematch lobby with an even number of people in it, so I imagine a new player would very easily drop the game forever from seeing that too often online.
A simplified GG would still sell far better than Fantasy strike lmao
Is May still a charge character in 2020?
Will she finally regain her moves like her projectile reflector from GG1?
Slayer's command grab is already good, the only thing they might add is more health regen, but that would make it too strong, I'd rather have Undertow go back to the old hyperarmor standard with the explosion instead of the garbage Xrd Undertow, or get his feints back.
>removing combo
Literally what the fuck? He want everyone to do the same 3-4 string online? Shit will be so fucking boring
Tell me straight: What are the odds of Leo returning for 2020 or should I just dump him now and pick up Sol?
No, but it's good because we don't want to hurt the casuals' feelings.
Leo is gone
Storywise he is stuck doing paperwork
Gameplay wise everyone fucking hates fighting him
I think his chances are decent but not especially high. In any case, you should stick with him if you like him. Relish this opportunity to play as him because it may not be here forever.
I jumped ship to Ky already
WHERE IT ALL WENT WRONG
You could have just replied "yes"
Looks are deceiving
But this confirms short combos will be a thing, and that kum is 100% not coming back
Well BB ( the main series) is still safe. BBTAG is just a spin off.
So what's matters
>execution
or
>tactic, strategy, playstyle, nindgames
?
That's good though
If spectators can't understand what's going on by looking at it the game is probably overly convoluted
Both
Yes bro everyone doing the same 3 hit combo is gonna be so fun so much variety oof I cannot wa-
What would you do if they returned to the GG1 system of insta-kills?
What matters is how hard my dick gets from the characters
What even "looks difficult"? I swear if they start removing things like May's interactable projectiles, Ram's swords, or Bedman's Dejavu I'm leaving to BB.
For me the latter, but I do understand that there's people that really enjoy execution and there should be diversity of styles. In Xrd I can just play May with her odd projectiles and her explosive short combos while other people can break their fingers with Chipp, Pot, or whatever.
Also, that's my favourite Pokémon with my favourite fg character. Thank you user for this blessed picture.
Yeah ok we must pander to retards that won't even play the game and just watch EVO
Rams swords need to be completely removed so she can finally become a balanced characters instead of permanently being shit tier because she's impossible to balance properly
Jump installs for one
All of these fucking orangenames
It's the fucking truth, and you know it.
>Even if they add auto combo, players (watching) won't understand anyway
This is really good analysis
I can only think of making combos shorter, which would be great if they can maintain GG's wildly varying rewards on different moves
Jump Installs don't "look" difficult. You don't even see them. Unless they mean that the explanation looks difficult, not that they make the game itself looks difficult.
I'd rather have her remodeled after the swords. Sort of like a Bridget or a Litchi.
>leaving to BB
lmao enjoy a game that died because izanami is so bullshit she invalidates 2/3 of the cast existing
DBFZ has JI, it's not going away
Smash Ultimate unironically take more skills than modern Guilty Gears.
What the fuck happened?
>she invalidates 2/3 of the cast existing
Don't worry, I play Nine.
get rid of weight
get rid of every fucking knockdown state for every fucking character having unique wakeup frames
Of course Yea Forums would defend the game removing combo.
Imagine lying on the internet
>This is really good analysis
No it isn't, cause it requires a huge amount of dumbing down. Shorter combos that anyone can understand on the first time viewing will lead to less variety in routes and properties. You are asking for opposites
Can you still get into the story mode even if you haven't played the previous ones? Is there a recap video online? Never heard of the series until xrd.
Smash is at least evolving from Brawl. While GG is just keep getting dumbed down.
>implying combos are what makes GG
If they started removing Oki, I'll be panicking, but combos are fair game
GG's story is all over the place in terms of source material youtu.be
After this go watch SIGNs story mode then Revelator then rev2 after stories
Ky can still do microdash setups from wallsplat. Looks easy but actually trickier when you chain to VT loops
You people aren't thinking of the long game here cause you're all just baby that will play the game for one week and drop it. Removing depth is not a good thing making the hardcore FGC people mastering the game in 2 weeks is not what's gonna keep the game alive. Reducing skills gap between players is such a stupid fucking choice, its literally a nintendo way of thinking.
>everyone must win nobody must be mad xD
>3 hour+
Well. This is gonna be a fun weekend.
What are some good beginner characters I can get into?
But they aren't removing depth. Only complexity
Sol, Ky, Leo, May, Sin, Raven, Elphelt. All really eady characters to get into. I would put Ky, Sol and Leo on basic and El and May on top of the easy scale
Who the fuck cares about people spectating the game? They won't even fucking buy the game anyway they just want to spam their faggots ass hype twitch emotes in the chat.
Daisuke likes African Death Metal so he probably just wanted to make one of those
>But they aren't removing depth. Only depth
Ok
Complexity isn't depth
>Daisuke likes African
He IS African, you dipshit.
Daisuke is african.
You mean the game that has a dark skinned gay Brit and a brown Indian who's a former slave is "succumbing" to a diversifying agenda?
Nah dbfz community is still very strong at the top level, he just switched to the most broken team and that's why he's suddenly getting good results again.
>African developer puts a slave nigger as a character in his game
What did he mean by this?
This is same cool nigga
Execution creates tactics, strategy, playstyles and mindgames.
I want May thighjobs so bad!
He's 100% African, BUT he's also a nip at the same time. Go figure.
>GG once known as the hardest motherfucking FG franchise in the market now reduced to one of the easiest
God I still remember the days of BBCT and goobers making fun of the game for being easy shit while seething deep down because GG was dead
He's just a nip born in africa
I know that but not many people know about African Death Metal
Right?
How crazy will Dragon Install be this time?
>may is a charge character
FUCK
BB is dead, GG will be alive
Reducing the skill ceilling is removing depth for the hardcore player. I seriously don't get how you people don't understand that. A hardcore will always beat a casual no matter with or without that complexity so what even is the point of removing it? I'll tell you they want the casual to be able to compete with the hardcore and think this will help them.
>Just born
He lived there for larger half of his life before he moved to JP, you fuckshit.
Still seething 10+ years later.
Just look at these fucks
Don't worry they are removing charge and every single motion inputs in the game
I don't think so. Everyone should have same tools. In situation where you need to learn X (hard to execute) just to be competitive (because everyone can execute X by default) it's sound like artificial time wasting.
Keep those goalposts moving Arcsoys
It's the same arguments every time a new fighter comes out.
>Daisuke want to remove difficult combo
Yup im thinking RC is out.
Yeah sure thing they will have the west in consideration, then proceed to have shit netcode, have 90% of the stage be bad for netplay, and no crossplay
>GG2020 RC
>game slows down enough for you to make a sandwich, do your taxes, and mow the lawn before you have to connect the next attack
This casuals pandering is sickening. What is the point of the competitive nature is everything have to be dumbed down for casuals.
What is irl sports did that?
>well you see this goalie is new to the nhl so let make his net smaller so he can compete with the rest xD
RC was in waaay back in X exactly TO make easier conbos to begin with, fuckwits.
>What is irl sports did that?
football does it and so does basketball
He don't want easier combo he want to remove combo so RC is out.
>Goobers get their feelings hurt so bad from getting bullied out of /fgg/ they make a thread here
lmaaaao
You are so fucking retarded it hurt.
it was /scv/
It's not reducing the skill ceiling, only the floor
>gay nigger ninja
>covered up may
>no combos
>pad friendly inputs
did they replace Daisuke with SonicFox? what a travesty
so whats gonna be Yea Forums's excuse for not playing guilty this time?
RC just adds damage to the combo straight up.
The usual, only niggers play fighting games
It'll be dead
its street fighter vs fault
But I'm gonna play it? I hope raven makes it in
What's bad about easier inputs, retard? Whole difficult input shit was just to jew arcades for more money to begin with, it adds nothing to the gameplay.
>not liking oversized hoodie
faggot, plus you can still see her delicious legs
