You do the same gameplay loop for the rest of the game.

No, you're just a child

its not the best game in the world, but its one of the most fun games I've played that generation

>Muh gameplay loop bad

Fuck off redditor

When did I say it was bad? lol retarded frogposter

It's about damn time Nintendo gets Rogue and IV's DLC.
Yes, Ubisoft was in the middle of stabbing Nintendo in the back during that time and refused to give the WiiU release any support, including zero DLC.

Attached: AC-Black-Flag.png (847x429, 308K)

Rogue is the best AC game, I hope it gets some recognition.

Prepare to do tailing/listen-in missions for 40 hours between the boring sailing shit

How's the ship combat compared to III and IV?
I saw your ship got demoted again to a schooner.

>tailing mission
>Hire a group of whores to follow you
>You now have a mobile blend in station where you can just stand directly behind the person you need to tail.

Nice save, your post clearly implied it.

Checkmate retard. Get keked.

It is still boring. Why the fuck do developers keep adding those?

>Reddit Derangement Syndrome.

Yikes my dude.

The ship combat is as good as it gets. The front carronades are great and the way you can use them to shatter iceburgs and cause waves adds a nice new dynamic to ship fights. The flaming oil is also a new way to mix things up compared to IV. Also you can actually get boarded now instead of just doing the boarding.

Puckle guns are OP as fuck and can clear the deck of most ships before you even haul in the grappling hooks.

>implied it
No, you are an insecure little bitch. Get a life nerd, stop getting mad over videogames.

>Being this butthurt that you've been exposed and called out

get the companion app if it's still available

Lol

Thanks for handing me the win, stay seething.

Whatever nerd.

I put likely over 70-80 hours in this game. It's a great game if you like the high seas. I collected basically everything and had a fully upgraded ship and the journey was amazing but I couldnt do it again desu.

How big is the map compared to IV? Since it's divided up into two parts, I don't expect it to be as big, But the River Valley looks really small and not suitable for ship combat.
Or is it supposed to be like the Frontier from 3?

I'm unironically enjoying the frontier in 3. At first I hated it and just got to the cities as fast as possible.. now all I do is explore the frontier.

The river valley is definitely more like the frontier, it has more of a focus on foot exploration, and some landmasses can be completely circumnavigated on foot. There are also ferries to cross the river without your ship, and signal fires you can light to call your ship to you when you get too far from it. The Atlantic honestly is a little on the small side, though I'd say it's just big enough to do it's job. The New York map is a little bigger than the AC3 version of New York since it's before the fire. Sadly all the horses have yet to be imported from England or something because there are none.

I wish you didn't always have level 1 notoriety in the frontier though. Even after you beat the game and the redcoats are replaced with patriots, they still want to murder you on sight.

Also if you like snowy environments like I do, the North Atlantic is a real treat.

After what Ubisoft did for the Switch version of III.
youtube.com/watch?v=0EH_YHcL57g

My expectations are low for Rebel collection.
Granted I was never a graphics fag, so it's acceptable in order to be able to play it on the go.
I just hope they don't fuck us over on cart size and make Rogue downloadable only.
They made it so that you had to download all of III's DLC instead of having it on the cart.

patrols are super easy to avoid in the frontier...

Am I the only one who didn't capture some of the forts just because after enough time a red coat patrol will come out and they'll inevitably run into and fight a patriot patrol?

No but Rogue is.

I was sad they didn't keep some kind of back-and-forth fort capturing system like the hideouts in Revelations. Same goes for the forts in Black Flag. The game really feels dead once you conquer the entire map.

>Shao Jun's entire character arc in Embers is not to base your life around revenge.
>Leaves Italy with that message ingrained into her from her time with Ezio.
>Chronciles China immediately starts with her wanting to take revenge on everyone.
>Loses her Master and realizes fighting shouldn't be for revenge.
>Ends with her going "I shouldn't have taken revenge".
Shao Jun deserved better than this and if they want to avoid China, India, or Russia because they did them in Chronicles that's a massive blow.

The Morrigan is far weaker than the Jackdaw but it's got some fun gimmicks like the front cannonades, the double side volley, the Puckle Gun, and burning oil. Its main problem is that revealed weak points are still subject to how it was in BF despite the fact you now shoot double the shots and the Puckle Gun deals less damage than the swivel so you basically have the same amount of weak points but deal less damage in general. The mortar becomes way more important compared to using it on the Jackdaw and I never bothered to use Heaters because they simply did not do as much damage as the double volley.
Legendary ship battles are far better than in BF, especially the last one, and the Man o' War fights can be annoying compared to you annihilating level 60 ones without a care in the world with the Jackdaw.

Rogue has the best outfits in the seris other than maybe the Ishaak Pascha armor.

I had full completion and even did all the time limited community challenges. I had every cosmetic and piece of gear you could get. computer crashed and I had to reformat, found out Ubishit didn't implement any kind of cloud saving even though the fucking steam store page said it had them.

it was my favorite game but knowing I had done everything and lost it all makes it so hard to want to try again.

I don't get why people didn't understand why Shay would betray the botherhood after this.
Achilles should have been aware they were destroying cities by the time Shay came back and he didn't give a shit.

It's pointless to bother trying again because you can never get the community shit back, or the promotional tie-in shit like the sword that's literally used to represent swords in the menu.

I've seen other people discuss it and it literally boils down to "Assassins good, Templars bad" which makes me think most of them started the series with 2, because AC1 did a good job of painting both sides with shades of gray.

Personally I fucking hated the Assassins in both 3 and 4, and was glad to play as the other side in Rogue.

>Achilles should have been aware they were destroying cities by the time Shay came back
He was literally confused by what Shay was saying because during the discussion with Adewale they both thought it was a simple freak earthquake that cost them their Assassin. It also doesn't help that Shay immediately went from getting yelled at to betrayal, as if Achilles is going to send someone else out immediately. Hell, Achilles doesn't even act like he should, he literally should be telling Shay "We thought it was an accident this entire time" and agreed to listen to him once he cooled off, nothing anyone does makes any sense. Liam doesn't even tell Achilles that Shay is having doubts nor does anyone even make an attempt to talk to him. It's so incredibly forced, Shay even agrees with Liam's assessments with the two other Templars outside of Washington as to why they had to die even though he had doubts.

It also doesn't help that Shay's still with the Templars after they burn New York and want to murder the poor created from the fire enough to go to France, and the fact that as an Assassin he doesn't want to kill civvies but the very minute he defects he's okay with wholesale slaughter with no desync.

as long as you ignore the campagin its pretty fun

They knew about the earthquake, they just didn't care. Their only driving force is "fuck with shit even if we don't understand it". Achilles was corrupted by power, which is something that carried over well to his AC3 character. He manipulated Connor into thinking he had to murder his father, even after finding out that it was Washington that burned his village, and his father was actually a reasonable man offering a truce between the two groups. Achilles was just a bitter old bastard that wanted revenge for being made a cripple.

Attached: 311560_20190717054517_1.png (1920x1080, 2.25M)

youtu.be/VHvXtmdaUCs?t=4024
They clearly didn't give a shit at what happened, in fact Achilles' comment was that it was impossible that they were the ones destroying cities and it was Shay's fault
>The operation was a delicate, perhaps you...
And was completely dismissive of him and never once implied he would hear Shay out.

He also skips right to trying to murder Shay for taking the book, and then sends like 50 dudes to murder him.

Shay on the other hand was willing to fucking kill himself to keep them from having the book and causing more destruction.

Attached: 311560_20190717054846_1.png (1920x1080, 1.03M)

>They knew about the earthquake, they just didn't care
Except when you eavesdrop on their conversation at the Homestead both Achilles and Adewale mention there was an earthquake and are saddened at the loss of their Assassin that they sent out. Achilles very clearly cared, and it doesn't help that not a single Isu artifact by that point actually did something like that. Every single thing throughout history up until that point was either something that healed you, controlled you, was used to basically use magic, sent a message/memory, or was used to spy on you. This thing was the first of its kind which lends further credence to Achilles' understandable confusion.
>Achilles was corrupted by power
He was literally obsessed with finding the Precursor sites because Connor and his wife died within the past year, he had nothing else left. Was he irrational? Absolutely, but Shay is equally as dumb for immediately betraying everyone he spent his life with instead of trying to work something out. Hope may have shouted at him but even after Shay murdered multiple members she still cared for him so everyone just had to cool off.
>even after finding out that it was Washington that burned his village
Connor himself literally states he cannot trust Haytham because he was keeping such a secret for so long that everything he says might potentially be a lie. He was 100% willing to try and mend their bonds and work something with both sides until that moment specifically.

I'm not saying Shay is in the wrong for trying to stop the deaths of innocents via the book, but I am saying both sides are equally written as complete retards in the grand scheme of things and Shay in particular does not work with the Templar ethos whatsoeve. He immediately goes against his character as soon as he betrays the Assassins for the Templars since the Templars are completely fine with murdering innocents and even do so only a couple years after the pre-France ending of Rogue.

>Achilles and Adewale mention there was an earthquake and are saddened at the loss of their Assassin that they sent out.
But not everyone else that died in the Earthquake. Shay is completely in the right. The Assassins caused the death of thousands of innocents through their reckless actions, directly violating the first tenant of their creed.

>He also skips right to trying to murder Shay for taking the book
He was literally in an act of betrayal and Shay himself was also essentially telling him "You will have to kill me if you want this book back" cementing that fact. It's like saying Duncan Walpole should have been talked down when he was about to betray the Brotherhood when he was in the very act of doing so (I know Duncan slipped away while he was betraying them, but I meant it as an example of someone betraying the Order).
>and then sends like 50 dudes to murder him.
He was already prepared for Shay betraying him in the first place after their argument, and Liam probably let him know about the past three kills and his massive doubts.

Again, this is just a poor way to handle the betrayal. Shay has his reason but the way they went about getting to the reason was idiotic. There should have been an actual discussion instead of yelling at each other, there should have been a build up to the betrayal, and there should have been a build up to Achilles preparing for it. Instead it's
>Shay arrives angry.
>Shouts at Achilles.
>Achilles is confused.
>Hope shouts at Shay.
>Shay sulks in the snow for like fifteen hours.
>Now all of a sudden Achilles, Hope, and Liam are ready to murder Shay.
It's ridiculous. No one checks up on him, no one speaks to him, and they barely listen to his testimony at all because everyone's shouting at each other.

>The Assassins caused the death of thousands of innocents through their reckless actions, directly violating the first tenant of their creed.
Which they wouldn't even realize until someone like Shay actually confirmed it or had Shay died in the second earthquake. Going after the third Precursor site is totally on them, that's actual recklessness, but they sent Shay in there because they honestly believed the earthquake was just a freak occurrence. Achilles definitely should have stepped down from the Mentor position after the deaths though.

a-are you m-mad???

Oh yeah, what in the hell did Greenie and the Indians do to Evie? How in the world did she go from looking perfect to looking like she needs to speak to your manager within 20 years? She was in her early 20's during Syndicate as far as I understand and incredibly active exercise-wise to boot. It's like she hit her late 60's by the time of Jack the Ripper. Meanwhile Jacob looks amazing for 20 years later and his grand-daughter looks just as attractive as Evie. I don't get it.

britbong genes

Is there any way to mod her Syndicate model into Jack the Ripper? That's just awful.

Attached: Evie Frye.gif (500x500, 1.63M)

Not as far as I know. She truly looks horrible in every single scene she's in and her outfit also doesn't help things.

Templar Master Outfit is peak AC fashion. I love its texture, looks comfy as fuck.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 198K)

The regular black outfit is better.

Watch the cutscene again, Achillies and Hope think they aren't doing anything wrong and it was Shay who screwed up.

>and it was Shay who screwed up
Again, because this has never happened before in more than a thousand years of recorded Assassin history and goes against everything they've known about the artifacts up until that point with Shay technically still being an Assassin in training which still gives them an air of uncertainty. They even ask if he touched it incorrectly considering the Apple does a whole host of stuff and they themselves literally thought it was just an Apple at that point. The only reason he even got sent out there was because he knew where the convent was like the back of his hand and they had had enough trust in him to recover the object at the very least due to him culling the Templars.

Achilles should have brought up the fact that they didn't know it could cause earthquakes but Shay outright shouts at him that he knew such a thing would happen as if it was a certainty and Achilles just goes along with that line of thought as if that was true when, until that point, it was happenstance.

Attached: Assassin’s Creed® Rogue Remastered 2019-08-18 03-13-31.jpg (1920x1080, 849K)

>They even ask if he touched it incorrectly considering the Apple does a whole host of stuff and they themselves literally thought it was just an Apple at that point
No he didn't.

>Should have
Achilles didn't do a lot of things, but was in such a rush for the artifacts, he didn't care. Remember, he was still looking for them well afterwards and only realized Shay was right when they found another site.

>No he didn't.
>Achilles was stunned that the Precursor site did not contain an Apple of Eden, but even more by Shay's open rebellion against him.
Literally in his database entry in the game.
>and only realized Shay was right when they found another site.
Because it was completely opposite to what he thought they were in the first place. The man even quotes Ezio meaning he knows of Ezio (and therefore Altair) and their experiences with the Apple.

James Gunn outfit and swords are the top Templarkino outfit.

Second is the 11th century

The fact that Achillies doesn't listen to Shay and kicked him out thinking it was Shay's fault is a perfect excuse for Shay to betray him.
Also the fact that he was waiting for Shay to go for the manuscript makes you wonder why he was shocked Shay betrayed him.

>is a perfect excuse for Shay to betray him.
You mean besides the fact that not a single soul actually talked to him after that ordeal? Not his "best friend"? Not his teacher? Not even Kasegawase? No one wanted to talk to him and understand exactly what exactly happened in Lisbon instead of his shouting rant to Achilles and Hope that's filled with him basically calling Achilles a mass murderer when Achilles had no idea what would happen at that point considering he still thought it was an Apple? No one wanted to maybe give him a second chance after not seeing him for months or even getting the full story out of him?

His betrayal is so forced and filled with problems that make it completely unbelievable because no one acts like a person. It's not like Shay immediately bolts for the book in Achilles' study while Achilles calls for everyone to make a beeline for Shay. They let him sit there for hours until night rolls around without doing anything while preparing for a betrayal on top of having loads of questions that never go answered. At least this way you'd have no questions as to why Shay would betray them whereas the actual situation leaves you with multiple questions as to why characters didn't do something they very clearly should have and was already established throughout the things you played.
>makes you wonder why he was shocked Shay betrayed him
It's more that he's disappointed that Shay would do such a thing. Achilles even gives him that kind of a speech. It's like a mother leaving a cookie jar open and standing in the doorway while her kid reaches for it before clearing her throat. "Plan for the best, prepare for the worst" is the saying, isn't it?

You realize that just makes the assassin's look incompetent and arrogant and further justifies Shay's actions, right? The fact no one came to him and he was left to his own devices meant they all sided with Achilles over him.
Also if that was the case, the mother wouldn't try to kill their kid. But yet, it happened. It shows Achilles didn't trust Shay and given his later actions, went right ahead with finding more sites. So the betrayal wasn't forced.

>You realize that just makes the assassin's look incompetent and arrogant and further justifies Shay's actions, right?
More like it screams to me that it wasn't written properly or that they rushed it. Explain why Achilles would never bring up the earthquake fact when his entire discussion with Adewale tells us they didn't know it caused earthquakes. Explain why no one would even think to follow up on why Shay thought an Apple of Eden would cause an earthquake when it never has before? They spent who knows how many resources sending Shay out for ages and then as soon as he starts shouting that's all irrelevant and it's time for a good old execution?

None of this makes any sense for the Brotherhood in any way, shape, or form. It requires multiple people to act like assholes for the sake of being assholes. What would they even side with Achilles about? Not talking to Shay? That Shay said some mean words so he has to sit in the time out corner now when they gave him a direct order and wanted a report? That they all decided he's a traitor before he had done anything at all or even heard him out properly so they're not going to kill him right now, but instead they'll shun him for the next couple hours and then act surprised when he betrays them after his massive outburst and constant lapses of faith in the Brotherhood?
>It shows Achilles didn't trust Shay
Yeah, after the guy ran off into the woods, brooded, and then proceeded to steal an item that can apparently cause more earthquakes or even fall into Templar hands. Plus, they are still under the impression it's an Apple of Eden, you know, the thing that causes mind control and their main enemies want to rob people of free will? It's a pretty important thing.

The Assassins aren't treated like people during this entire thing, they don't do anything logically when literally an hour earlier Hope and Liam were scolding him about doing things logically and then they do that after anyway.

Too bad you just lost the best outfit in the entire game. Get it back lad, we are able to after 6 years

>To me
Subjective

>After
After he kicked him out and didn't bother to try and clam him down.

Wall of text doesn't amount to shit if can't defend against basic stuff.

>After he kicked him out and didn't bother to try and clam him down.
That's my entire point. Why did no one do it? It makes no sense at all. What reasons do they have to make Shay lest trustworthy and find out less information about his journey pertaining to a very important artifact?

black flag would be a perfect game if it didn't have to be an assassin's creed game

See the previous point, that's why he did it.

>that's why he did it
So you're okay with "Because he did it" being the answer as to why they ignored tons of things and made everyone act like complete assholes just to justify Shay's shift? Because that's horrendous reasoning.

You're just ignoring the fact that they've always been 'we aren't doing anything wrong' and Shay betrayed them because he knew what their actions resulted in.

Except I'm taking them into account as well as asking why certain things didn't happen. "Just because" is not even a remotely reasonable answer when there's so many things that need to be answered and so many things that happened that just plain old ignoring someone isn't justifiable enough. So what if they "aren't doing anything wrong"? Because as far as they know they aren't because Shay didn't explain in great detail how everything went down. He basically yelled "YOU CAUSED EARTHQUAKES" and they have no idea HOW they caused earthquakes besides it being tied to the Precursor artifact. Then on the opposite end they don't even argue against Shay's points, they just act confused and then shout at him.
