You can tell from watching previous videos that none of them can act in even the slightest hint of an authentic way. I liked Mike's review of Bloodstained COTM, I was hoping this would be like that. To be fair emulation is usually pretty shit. I don't give a fuck about needing to play on real hardware or needing a certain type of display, etc. But when 80% of emulated games have sound glitches/graphical artifacts, etc. It really is best to go for the real deal as long as it's within your price range.

What I don't get is the market for these fucking mini consoles. Anyone that grew up playing them and is still into Vidya already has the real thing. The only people I can see buying this shit is hipsters and zoomers that want to relive a childhood they didn't have. Convenience trumps all honestly. I have my old SNES and Genesis but I haven't used either of them for at least 10 years because I'd rather just sit at my computer and easily play any game I want across their entire libraries instantly using any controller I want and using any romhack I want. I'm not so prideful that I think a couple milliseconds of input lag matters for my level of skill. Input lag just doesn't matter much unless you play competitive games or rhythm games, and I play neither.

I understand the appeal of the mini-consoles as collectors pieces and as easy gateways for people who don't play games much to re-experience some of their favorites from childhood. Think about how common shitty plug and play consoles are, they're fucking all over the place so clearly they're selling, to whoever's buying those plug and plays, a SNES mini or Genesis mini would be like manna from heaven.
